I had a sporting life ski bag and I only used it one time to go to Whitefish, Montana last spring. I went to take it out of the basement and the bag had long cuts about 10 and 4 inches.

Honestly, I just discovered it when I brought my skis up from the basement. I had no idea why it was worn like that. Not sure if the skis or poles cut it when they were going in.

I told Jordan, the guy helping me not to worry about it since I didn’t have my receipt and that I would just buy a new ski bag.

Jordan offered me 20.00 off a new bag.
He showed me exactly where the bags were and he gave me 20.00 off a new bag.

We came here looking for a specific jacket that was on a good sale, and Quinten, though he said he was relatively new here, was a massive help to us, even showing us multiple alternatives, one of which was an even better sale and ended up being the one we chose! Excellent customer service, will definetely come again!

Please be more clear about the exclusions with your special sales. I shouldn’t have to bring up multiple items to the till to see if I get the discount. It’s so dumb. Taking my business elsewhere.

The younger guy working in the hiking shoes section was so Knowledgeable and amazing! He helped me pick the best pair of hiking shoes, and he knew everything there was to know. Amazing! He helped so much

I recently went in for a set of downhill ski boots, and had a great boot fitting experience with Ethan! Super easy to chat with, and knew 100% what he was talking about - gave me tips and tricks, and helped customize some insoles and liners for me on the spot. Felt like I was in a local shop, rather than a big box store!

Purchased an item online, which was shipped from this location, and the item received was not the one I had ordered. Yes it’s the correct box, but the incorrect goggle inside. The one I had ordered were the Oakley Fall line, but received the Line Miner, which is significantly cheaper… No customer service phone number to contact, just an online form….

Very Poor Store Manager experience on December 28 2022 on defective clothing.

I have been shopping at Sporting Life for years now having spent $1000s. I had purchased 2 items in the last month; one was a Duer Denim jean that was taken for hemming with other pairs. The original hem was kept on the pant. Unfortunately, the hem had loose threading at the base (not supposed to on this cut) which I observed when trying the pair on after alteration. It was clearly a manufacturers defect and after 2-3 washes this jean would not be wearable without threads hanging loosely off the pant. I went back to Sporting Life and they were insinuating it was the tailor who should pay for damage and that if not I should call the manufacturer directly as well; because they were hemmed they were avoiding a replacement. I called the manufacturer downtown Calgary and he advised that Sporting Life can easily put this through as a defect and that they should. The hem he mentioned should not have been damaged and Sporting Life should take it back as a defect. Once mentioning this to the store manager on duty she asked me to pick another pair. The Store Manager also replied rudely “i will do this one time but never again”. You really should not speak to someone this way as a manager, especially when spending so much money at your store; the product was actually defective to begin with. As a customer I came in requesting a swap of a product and not a refund.

I went to to check for a new pair and none was in stock on the floor. Instead of waiting for me to come back to let the Store Manager know that I was unable to find a pair on the floor, she was already aware the jean was not on the floor in the store. She quickly gave me a gift card and said your money is there and just walked away, not even giving me the opportunity to request a new pair to come in as they are able to do that.

The Store Manager did not offer me the option to order a pant online for delivery to the store (which was available) so that I can do a direct swap she gave me the gift card instead knowing I would pay more, as the sale price I purchased the pant was no longer available; all this for a $30 difference having spent 1000s. A good store manager would have offered me a replacement and not try to place blame on a defective manufacturers item; if the gift card was provided then provide the amount the jean would cost to be replaced as you were willing to do the swap with no additional charge. A gift card is of no use when the defective item I need to replace for a non defective has gone up in price.

YOU SHOULD HONOUR A STRAIGHT EXCHANGE OF A DEFECTIVE ITEM.

You should refund to the original form of payment if you cannot do a straight swap so that a customer can purchase an item that they actually want to wear.

I had even purchased a new Pajar jacket in the last month worn only a few times and showed her the loose threading and how this should not occur paying decent money and her reply was “cut the thread, it won’t spread”. Overall, disappointing experience, really highlighting cheap customer service and a sign that once I use this gift card I will be spending my money at a retailer that treats me better.

Shout out to Chris for his amazing help! In a short notice he managed to install my bindings and I'm able to ski over the weekend because of him! As soon as he heard about my tight schedule with work travel he got it done on spot. Not only that, he also shared very helpful tips from experience! Thank you awesome Chris!

Aiden helped us with picking out skis today. He went above and beyond to help us choose ones to meet our needs and he recommended some great bindings to go with! Loved his enthusiasm, we will definitely be coming back

Even though i see some bad reviews about customer service, my experience was superb. The salesperson was knowledgeable and was trying his best to help everyone even though it was very crowded. I definitely would go back in the future.

If you want great service and a fantastic buying experience go here for your equipment. Bought a new tennis racquet and Brett was able to pull some strings and got my racquet strung ASAP. Back on the court in a day, what could be better. Thanks you guys

This Sporting Life is larger than the one at Market Mall. There are 2 stories full of merchandise.

There is so much to see and check out. Sporting Life has a vast inventory of outdoor sporting equipment. They tend to have higher range of clothing and sporting goods. If you're looking for something durable and long lasting, this would be the place to go.

Over the past couple years we've had some seriously good advice from knowledgable and friendly helpful staff. Sadly, on the flip side we've also experienced quite the opposite from other staff; including poor advice and even a negative somewhat argumentative attitude from a manager (middle-aged tall slim bald guy) just a few days ago regarding a straight forward ski pants enquiry, perhaps he was just having a bad day.

A couple weeks ago after buying new skis and bindings I was told that we had finally reached their rewards scheme $50 credit threshold. Last night at their check out I was told that I had 3 days left to spend the $50 credit otherwise it would be permanently lost.

BEWARE. NO AFTER SERVICE.
I've spent a lot of money here. I mean too much. Not anymore.

I purchased a top of the line bike for my boy -
The back tire and cog set was stolen from this bike.

I brought the bike back in and told them I needed help.
They told me to remove the bicycle from the store and that they had no room for it. I intended to drop it off for repair and that I would pay for that.
It was too much trouble for them to phone or order the part or even call me.

They said they would call me and never did.
Discarded like a piece of trash.
Please go to a professional store for your bikes ski gear and snowboards. Not sporting life. They dont care about you after the sale has gone through.

This place just buy christmas sweaters.

Very large store which means lots of selection. The sales associate that helped me out, Jada, was extremely helpful and showed me multiple jackets throughout the store that fit my needs even though I had told her before hand I would not be buying anything that day. Will definitely be coming back soon.highly recommend great atmosphere!

Great store. Terrible customer service. Each time I’ve shopped here the associates are always “busy” talking to each other. So many employees and no one helping.
