Besides poor customer service (I heard no less than two employees say to me "it's not my job') I WARN ALL CUSTOMERS to check your receipts before heading home. Purchased four items and two (50%) scanned at higher prices than was displayed on the factory tags. A hassle to have to go back and have this rectified especially when the manager does not bother to even apologize. Again - check your receipts and make sure you were charged correctly - or better yet, support a business with better service and back end management, as we will from now on.
The woman in the counter with a dark brown hair wearing glasses is rude! No greetings at first, she just asked for the phone number and mode of payment.no thank you after payment. My husband was the one who said thank you when she handed the bag. Everyone is nice there except for her. I hope you can do something about her attitude/customer service.
I had a great experience shopping with the help of one your staff. She's an older woman who was manning the fitting rooms. I'm terrible with names, but I checked the other reviews and she might be Naomi. I just wanna highlight her awesome customer service skills!
One person was helpful (Gabriel). No one to be found in the ski area, spent 45 minutes aimlessly walking around looking for help to buy some ski bindings. Tried also buying a jacket but came up as the wrong price so had to walk back and grab the same jacket and then wait in line again. Finally gave up. This is why people shop online.
I really appreciate Jarred for saving my last evening. Just a newbie for skiing- I was on half way changing insoles for my ski boots, the. I found that it was challenging for me to yank the inner layer out or vice versa. I stopped by SL to get some assistance and save time, and Jared did a fantastic job! He not only assisted me in removing them, but also advised me to trim the new insole. He even showed me how to press the inner layer back while watching me do it. Because of his kindly help, I was able to attend my lesson at COP as scheduled. Amazing staff! Thank you Jarred!
Terrible customer service. I was provided a gift receipt for a product and then was told it was final sale when I went to return it. Also had two security tags on it and had to return twice to get them all off. And still they would not do the return on the item.
Sporting life has a great selection of clothes and items and you can get some really good sales here.
I had a great experience at this location, I was wandering around looking for a specific item that I saw they had in stock online and a worker noticed me and asked me if I needed any help, I told her what I was looking for and she could have easily just pointed towards the section I need to be but instead she walked me across the store and helped me look for that item on the racks. Now that I think of it, I have had great experience a few times at this location.
Just bought this Can North FT-1 hybrid bike from Sporting Life Market Mall.at first was very disappointed by a grinding noise that the wheel hub was making. After repeat visits and many attempts to fix the problem with no success, I was ready to return the bike and ask for my money back. But JY, the manager at the time of my second visit showed up to make things right. He was extremely calm and professional. Despite my obvious frustration, he diffused the situation and insisted that he wanted me to leave happy with nothing less than a perfectly functioning bike.he had the team REBUILD a new bike for me and took back the faulty one. JY stepping in the way he did just saved Sporting Life from losing a customer! I'll be back for sure! And to Sporting Life, you should promote JY and do it soon!
I was in the shoe section and Jake helped out my parents a whole bunch with finding the perfect shoes. He was knowledgeable on the key features of Arcteryx shoes and very easy to approach. Great customer service!
AMAZING EXPERIANCE WITH KOTA! My wife and I came in close to closing hours to grab bikes and Kota made our first bike buying experience super easy. He was attentive, informative and extremely kind. Give this man a promotion.
I am seriously disappointed in the store I bought a jacket from them and I right away noticed that it was shedding nonstop so I called them and I went back to the store and I was told it’s normal keep pulling back the fur inside and it has been three months it is still does the same thing and they told me to call manufacturers which I did and of course they are completely useless. I would recommend if you’re looking for a specific brand of jacket is to buy from the manufacturer directly or go to the store instead of sporting life.
Good selection in a big store, with higher end quality and brands. That quality comes at a price, and their sales are confusing because the sale price is the lowest of either the last listed price or the original with the latest % off. Sounds confusing? It is. Lots of sales staff to help figure out the price.so that was helpful.
Excellent customer service. Our salesperson was Noah and he was super friendly and nice. Talked very nicely and went to back room to get tents and stuff for us. Although we didn’t buy as we had to check some other stores but for sure would be coming back for those. Thanks Noah! You are the best buddy!
Good Afternoon xxxxxxx, It has now been an additional 2 two weeks with no contact from the Calgary store. Over six weeks since our first correspondence. They are clearly too busy or to apathetic to meet the commitments you are making.
I have no interest in speaking to anyone at the local store level anymore. I’d like to speak to the Regional, District or National Director please. This is, very literally, the worst customer service I’ve ever received.
No follow up from you, your manager, the store manager or anyone else. The full onus of trying to drive resolution for a jacket, defective after 2 weeks of ownership left solely to me. I am ashamed to have done any business with such an unprofessional and dismissive organization.
Looking forward to hearing from someone in your Corporate office that is empowered to handle this situation or at least professional enough to speak with a customer.

First time I have purchased anything from Sporting Life. The floor staff was amazing.especially Naomi, who really went out of her way to help me find the right winter jacket. I will definitely be coming back for my other outdoor clothing purchases!
Asked one of the staffs to give me an Oakley sunglasses that was never worn and he took the demo sunglasses to the back, put it in the box and brought it back saying Im lucky because he found the last one for me. Before paying for it, opened the box and noticed it's the demo I gave him. What a liar. Would never shop there again.
I would do 0 stars if I could. Felt extremely racially profiled as a black man, and security was called me on suspicion of stealing although I had no intention of doing so. Micheal, The manager followed me from the start and called security on me; I felt unsafe in the store. I do not recommend visiting this store
I can’t say enough good about the service this store provides. They are busy but from the store manager to the shoe staff to the floor staff, they find a way to keep their energy and attitude really great! If you’ll be patient to wait your turn, you’ll get fit and advice from really skilled people who know their department (s).
Unique brand and great service make this a fun place to shop.
Excellent service and very helpful! As a newbie to skiing, buying equipment is always an intimidating project because I don't know where to start and what's the difference between different products. Today I walk-in to look for my first ski boots and a staff named Hyatt helped me a lot. (Sorry if I spell your name wrong because spelling can be hard for a non-native speaker, apologize beforehand: -P) He spent almost an hour to help me find the one that fits the best. He's also very knowledgable and explain things very clear. Cannot wait to try my new boots in mountains! Will go back for other winter gears.
I feel the service level is really great at this place for the experience I had so far. Shopped here several times before for winter cloth and the staffs are always very glad to help no matter I buy it or not. Even in the busy time like Black Friday sale, they did a great job at helping us find the things we need. So you will not feel like you are searching for things in a big warehouse.
I came in with 2 friends and i was being eyed down and we were going into the mall on the way out i stopped to look at shoes and my friend was being profiled because she had a purse and it upset me very much And to make things worse im a licenced Secuirty officer and i was very disappointed in the male employee
The staff are verry pushy when it comes to making their sales quotas. You can really tell that the sales associates only want to help you for their commission. I got approached multiple times after I kept saying I just wanted to look around and I'd come to them if I had any questions. Not to meantion the fact that some of them would only come up to me to put their employee number on the items I was holding to get that commission even though they didn't help me with it. The managers are also very judgemental and will treat you according to what you're wearing and how rich you look. Also, when I was in the dressing room on multiple occassions I would hear empoyees complaining about other customers, other staff members and even their bosses! I'm rating this store with two stars because they do have very nice high end product and I was treated with genuine respect by a few of the staff there on different occasions (usually the teenage employees). Overall it just seemed like management needed to train their staff better and treat their employees as well as their customers with more respect.
HORRIBLE customer service, I placed an online order and it never shipped, I emailed the customer service 4 times with no response, I had to call three times and wait on hold forever to get them to cancel the order which they didn't seem to care about at all and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Will not ever shop here again!
Initially finding someone to help you is practically impossible. I swear every time I go here I'm waiting 10-15 mins to find someone who can help me. And every time I've rung the service shop outside doorbell, there's no one to ever let me in from there. That's the only "bad" thing about this store. Otherwise everything else is great.
Recently took my touring boots to get warrantied, Sandy the Dalbello rep was great. Assuming they had a replacement on hand, I would've gotten a new boot the same day. But even getting one shipped in was quick, it only took about 2-3 weeks; I was honestly expecting to wait a few months for them. Super easy process, very satisfied with how smooth it was.
Once they have end of season sales, it's impossible to beat Sporting Life's prices. Without a doubt they are the cheapest in the city. And they have a boot fit guarantee, meaning all or any of your boot work is free. After dropping my touring boots off for warranty, I also walked out with $750 resort boots on sale for $440 all in. All other shops in the city were still selling the same boot for $550-650.
This store was not accessible to us on our visit. The front doors that open to the parking lot are locked permanently! This is a huge inconvenience. I just wanted to by sporting gear, I don't want to have to navigate my way through other stores to get to the one I want. When we asked about the locked doors we got a rude response. Will not return, did not buy anything because of this nonsense.
Absolutely disgusted by how the staff here treating my mom. Employees glaring at her and then mocking her English when she confronted them is a horrible way to treat your customers. We've spent thousands at Sporting Life but they will never get our business again.
So on a very cold -30 day this is the sign this ungodly overly expensive store has displayed. Everyone should boycott this store. Unbelievable! One star is way too much
Excellent service, greeted when we entered the store. Return Policy should be checked out before paying. Sporting life has an incredible selection of shoes. I was very disappointed to find out that they do not carry women’s shoes past size 10.
