We had a nightmare at this clinic on Feb 21 when we had to put our beloved Haley to sleep.we are seniors and she was our life.while we were deciding with the vet and hugging her, the office girl came barging in to show us a pamphlet of urns. She wasn’t even dead yet! I was beyond upset. I went to the Spruce Grove clinic today March 15 to pick up her ashes only to fine out our sweetheart was still in their freezer! We had to pay for the cremation before they would do it. We have been going to this clinic for 35 yrs to Dr Stretch. Since he retired and sold the practice it has gone to h_. I almost insisted i’d take her home with me. Such neglect and lack of compassion is incomprehensible! We will never use this clinic again!
This clinic is awful in all areas of operation. The front end staff are rude and have 0 communication skills or compassion. The vets don’t care and will not make time for you, even though they’ve asked you to follow up. Nobody gets back to you. Their website claims that they have “professional staff you can trust” “Fast responses” and “Dedicated staff” But unfortunately as myself and others from the reviews that i’ve read (that were all posted a month ago), that sadly doesn’t seem to be the case. I've tried to speak to whoever is in charge, but was instead patched through to a vet tech and then to front end admin. The second time, I went in person and was only handed a card with a name written on it, but no means of contact. When asked how to get ahold of someone in charge, i was told to call the clinic, but they refuse to patch me through when I do call. From the reviews i’ve read it doesn’t seem it’ll do much anyways. Our pets deserve the best since they cannot speak for themselves, this clinic obviously has an issue with people that care about their pets and want the best for them. Save your money and time and take your pet to another clinic that will actually show they care about your pets without making you feel like a nuisance and actually treat you with respect, while providing exceptional care.
WE take all our dogs there. Very friendly staff (except 1) she needs to learn some manners with customers. We miss Dr. Reid, best vet we ever had. Their prices are far better than the City.
Stay away from this clinic. They are rude and just want money. I take my dog to Edmonton west spay/neuter clinic. Doctor Gingras is a joke and Doctor Lewis is as well.
Hands down one of the best vets in the area. A few years ago I had a bad experience with my dog being misdiagnosed.they have definitely turned my experience around since. They are always willing to help both my dogs, whether it be last minute or not. My one dog is at the vet often with a degenerative back disease, they have been more than accomodating and kind to him. This last week they sent in a referral for a CT for my other dog who is not at the vet often after being diagnosed with the same disease as my other little guy. They didn't request to see him, which would lead to an extra exam charge on top of the expensive CT, they sent it immediately and then called me to check in on him and offer us a free bag of food. They recieved a bag for free and instead of charging for it which im sure they could of, they called offering it to us for free knowing both my pups are on that kind. I can't say enough good things about this place, I've been to 10 plus vets in the area and no one compares to these guys.
Horrible management at this place and even worse customer service. Absolute shame for a vet that is supposed to take care of our most beloved fur babies.
Dr. Maloney was fantastic! She's extremely knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and personable. She made our dog feel completely at ease. She was gentle with her too! She answered all of our questions, she provided evidence based research, and re-assured us the entire time. She made our experience comfortable and we're so glad that we've found a compassionate and understanding vet.
I drive in from Edmonton to take my dogs to this clinic. I have always been happy with the staff and the quality of care they receive. My dog required a mass removal under anesthetic that we were quoted $1200-$1300 for at another vet clinic, but I took him to Spruce Grove Vet for a second opinion and they did the entire surgery and prescribed pain medication for under $300.
All of the vets are amazing with your animals. Prices are better than in the city. They will walk you through everything and start with the minimal amount of tests. They will not do something without doing sequential steps first.
Have used this vet clinic for 3 generations now and will continue. This is a great knowledgeable clinic and our pets have been well taken care of and never had a fear of going in. I highly recommend.
I have been with Dr. Stretch for over 10 years…he was amazing in his care. Once he retired we were given Dr. Adrien Elliot. On June 14th, I brought my healthy 10 year old havanese in for her vaccines. We saw a student…. NO doctor…within 36 hours my dog was in liver failure and was dying from vaccine anaphylaxis. NEVER saw a doctor… no apologies… nothing…. Just that they did nothing illegal. Avoid Dr. Elliot and Spruce Grove Vet Clinic! Such a shame that Dr. Stretch’s legacy has been ruined by Dr. Elliot. Luckily my puppy survived…she is a miracle, no thanks to DR. Elliot! Shameful! Horrible! Disgusting!
Dr. Elizabeth Maloney was very kind and patient with our anxious dog. She made up a special treat tray to distract them form the vaccines. We have had rescue and high anxiety dogs for over a decade and never have we experienced a vet who went above and beyond like this. Brilliant! Thank you!
We have used Dr Stretch for over 35years so we were very concerned and anxious about having to find a replacement vet since Dr Stretch retired. A friend recommended Dr Elliot and since January we have already taken 3 of our animals to see her. We feel very confident in her skills as a vet and as an owner. We did have an issue that we spoke to her about and she was very receptive and had it resolved. The front end staff and vet techs we have dealt with have also been friendly and helpful. We are very happy that we could continue our relationship with Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy vet.
To whom it may concern.let’s start with not able to book an appointment time and communicate it effectively. As we showed up at our thought to be appointment 5 mins late as we checked in our dog (who has been told has a torn acl) the vet tech said we were 20 mins late upon checking in with the surgery specialist. Who turned us away. We had been waiting for this appointment for sometime now to determine the direction of our dogs status of needing surgery. We were turned away without exception or accommodation to furthermore help out our dog. We drove from Beaumont to spruce to be re booked in 2 weeks from now. The vet refused to see us for the reason of missing a 15 min appointment window which in turn wasn’t our fault to begin with. Said she was busy with another person at 130.so a 15 min window of assessing a dog that may need surgery. What a lack of empathy and furthermore an ignorant response to turning us away for the sake of what we thought was only 5 mins late for our “booked” appointment. We even offered to stay until a spot opened to take a look and the refusal and lack of effort were astounding. Highly unimpressed.
I just moved to Spruce Grove and chose this vet clinic, I’m absolutely thrilled with my decision. They are so kind and if anything is wrong they do their best to see you right away. My cats are in great hands here!
I took my dogs to see Dr. Stretch for over 20 years and am so sad to see him retire. I made the drive from Edmonton to take them to him. I have sadly been recently disappointed by the new management and will look for another clinic closer to my home.
Been taking my dogs there for years. The staff are always pleasant and is a nice clean atmosphere. Their prices are great and a lot cheaper than the city, sometimes they feel bad about what they have to charge you. Highly recommend Spruce Grove vet.
I hate to do this but I am moving to another vet. I had an injured dog that required immediate attention and we were turned away because I was one minute past close. This is unforgivable.
This veterinary office is completely unhelpful with any situation that occurs outside of a regularly scheduled appointment. If your pet experiences any emergency, no provisions are made for them to see or assess your pets condition. Quite simply you are told EVERY time to take your pet to another vets office or to the emergency vet. This office needs to realize that not all situations happen according to their schedule. I should not have to make multiple phone calls to offices where I am not a regular customer to have my pet assessed. These offices do not know my pets medical history, this is why I ensure they are under the consistent care of one vet.
Vets are great! Admin I spoke with was useless. Wouldn't give me my own cat's vaccine record even though I have a legal separation agreement with my ex that says she's my property!
Very nice staff. Brought my dog there to get neutered, they were very kind and gentle with our dog and did an amazing job. Our dog was all healed up in less then a week with no complications. Best prices too.
The veteran in Spruce Grove we couldn't have had the best Dr Lewis was very understanding talked us through what they were going to do. Unfortunately this had to done our two beloved cats for seventeen years had to cross the rainbow bridge. Dr Lewis thank yu very much for your help and support. Yu are amazing
I brought my elderly family cat here to be put down due to health issues. And I came here because they were priced very reasonable and staff was very understanding and accommodating during our whole visit and for the duration we were there. Thank you to the vet and staff there.
Always overcrowded and waiting times are too long. Hard to keep pets content while they wait. But staff are great at what they do and treat our dog and cats well once in an office.
Refused to see my dog in a medical emergency because I was not wearing a mask even though I have a medical exemption due to PTSD. Yes medical exemption signed by a Dr and they seen the letter. They also refused to release his medical records to me so I could take him somewhere else.
Owner Dr. Adrien Elliott is the reason I am leaving this review. I have witnessed her harass, yell and embarrass others (staff and clients at the vet clinic) but today is the final straw. Unfortunately, not only have I come into this clinic multiple times to purchase food, Adrien is also a client that comes into my work and has been verbally abuse to my staff on the phone and in person. I highly suggest going to any other vet clinic in town, or even check out Crestwood in West Edmonton - Dr. Scott is amazing btw. The way Adrien handles herself, is absolutely not acceptable and I wish she would take a hard look at why there are so many other negative reviews since she has taken over this practice. I will no longer support or be purchasing anything from this clinic.
I used to come to this clinic with my rescue dogs to see Dr. Stretch for dogs that needed luxating patella surgeries. He is fantastic but his wife screamed at me on the phone accused me of being rude with her staff when I was nothing but polite. There staff was breaking FOIP regarding my rescue files with previous adopters which they had no right to be doing that. This very unprofessional and when I stood up for.yself they got mad. When I called to book Dr. Stretch for a second opinion on one of my rescues I was told I wasted flagged client they could not help me. I asked why and spoke with Judy Stretch who yelled at me. When she calmed down she said maybe they would give me another chance and book me the following week then she hung up on me.
The services rendered over the last few days were traumatic and not professional. I was a walk in appointment, so granted I knew timings would be slow, however, staff that lead you to a room should not say, "It'll be just a coupla minutes for the vet" (in reality this equates to at least 15-30 mins maximum, so waiting was not the issue). In my case that was 67 minutes later with no check ins. Staff should not give a time frame and should only say the vet will be with you when they can. Covid and emergencies changed timings understandably. I was treated like my time didn't matter. Furthermore, the next afternoon when I came in for an euthanization appointment, it was very cold and felt like I was just another number. My lasting memory is of my dog howling and fighting being put to sleep and then crammed into a tiny random supply box. Initially, I was told to walk out the front carrying his body, which in my opinion is not great for the busy waiting room to see. I had to ask for a back door. As well, the vet acted nervous, or that's the energy that was perceived, of being bit by an old toothless small dog. There was no "let's lay him on a blanket on the table, IV hooked to the back legs so the animal doesn't see what is going on, have him sedated, calm and relaxed, and then you hold his head as we apply the last sleeping dose. " My experience was I had him howling and fighting in a chokehold on the ground trying to hold his front leg out enough for her to give a single overdose. Very traumatizing and I don't believe other clients should be treated this way. I was referred to this clinic from multiple people based upon customer service, professionalism and costs, yet the visits I've had were far from it. I’ve had more respect and consideration from strangers than the treatment received from this clinic.
Dr. Elliot and the staff are beyond amazing. I've been taking my dog and cats there for 9 years and have always had nothing but the best service. They were beyond supportive when I had to unexpectedly put our cat down. They treat my Zeus like a King and have given me so much support in dealing with his diagnosis. I really love that Dr. Elliot actually listens to my concerns and answers all my questions in ways that I understand. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone at the clinic.
The vet was amazing but the nurses and the lady at the front desk we’re horrible we told them over the phone we had 2 cats explained that we had TWO they booked the appointment when we came in they only put one of them in the appointment when we asked for both to go in at the same time they dident even know we had 2 cats not only this our cat is vary scared and they knew about this as its there first vet trip they did nothing to take this into accountability. We will never bring our cats back here because of this thanks for freaking my animals out!
We have been seeing Dr Stretch for years and he’s absolutely the best vet I’ve ever been to. He’s extremely kind and patient, and I feel like I’ve always been able to trust his recommendations. I never feel pressure to get extra tests and the services provided are affordable. All the other staff members at the clinic have always been kind and helpful. Highly recommend even if you live in the edmonton area.worth the short drive.
I had one of the best experiences with the spruce Grove veterinary clinic My dog had to go in for double knee surgery they Made me feel quite confident in their skills And made me feel quite comfortable About the experience that I was going through I had never had to take an animal In for any kind of surgery I was quite nervous And they set my mind at ease It's just been over a week since my dog had her surgery And she is doing great Thank you so much Screws Grove veterinary clinic
Came in on a walk in day, 3 people ahead of me and had to wait about an hour. Staff was friendly and the vet provided me with detailed explanations for all meds/ procedures
Once again, Spruce Grove Vet Clinic has gone above and beyond to provide exceptional care to one of my dogs. My German Shepherd was badly obstructed and diagnosed at an emergency clinic. Thankfully, Spruce Grove was open when they decided he needed surgery, and they without question agreed to do the surgery on my dog. Dr Elliot gave up her own lunch break To be able to fit him in, and saved his life, and me thousands of dollars. That money saved was then able to provide for a few days of much needed post op care at the emergency vet. My boy isn’t out of the woods yet, but if it wasn’t for Dr Elliot and the wonderful staff at Spruce Grove, he wouldn’t have had a fighting chance. This is by far the best vet clinic in the Edmonton area, and if you’re looking for the best care and affordable prices, look no further. Thank you Dr Elliot!
We've always been treated so well here. The front end staff as well as the vets take care of our pets in a manner that we feel that they actually care.
Thank you so much for the fast effective treatment for Ruby's ears she feels much better, we've changed her diet and are hopeful that fixes the problem she was having, great customer service and COVID19 precautions in place for everyone's safety. Thank you see you again
Friendly staff and experienced doctors. Saved me a ton of money as other vets had already soaked me good and then still wanted to do every test under the sun all the ehilenoykmowing what the problem was. It was a one quick visit to Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic to get my dog accurately diagnosed and on the mend. Thats as good as it gets!
We've been customers for over 40 years and always get treated like family. Not this time! All we needed was help from an attendant from back room to help with 2 six month old farm pups, that were scared. TO heavy for our 80 YRS OLD Father, to handle & carry. I interrupted politely in between conversations. To request help. Was shut down immediately! Frustrated, exasted and sad. Not sure we will ever return.
I love this veterinary clinic. We recently have been taking our newly adopted kitten here and love the size and cleanliness of this clinic as well as the knowledgeable and friendly staff who clearly care very much for their patients!
Had a cat emergency. They were professional to me and my cat.then took friends dog in he was impressed which he never is.lol thank u for actually caring about animals and their owners without robbing your robbing your wallet.low enough prices u can afford
