Do not go here if you want quality healthcare. Nurses are dismissive and incompetent, they send patients home who are definitely not okay. I would never go here again nor take anyone I love here.

Our father John Warren unfortunately spent a short time in The Palliative Care Unit. Thank you to the nursing staff and doctor for their kind approach in all they did to care for my father. The doctor was kind and made it easy to understand what we could expect. The nurses assigned each day were different but treated my father like he was their father. Speaking with kindness and sweetness. Thank you to all who made this very difficult time a little easier.

Totally unacceptable ER. My mother had to wait 10 hours to see a doctor. She has a serious condition and it could have been fatal. The nurses kept telling us that she should be in within an hour or 2. There were 8 people in front of her upon arrival. Would have been much quicker to drive her to Edmonton. Numerous people I’ve talked to have had similar experiences.

I visited last Wednesday for a ACL replacement with Dr. Kumar and the supporting staff at St. Mary's. From the minute I walked in to getting discharged, I was in excellent hands. The staff were courteous, helpful and fun to be around. Very positive attitude from everyone and very knowledgeable about what was going to happen and how to make my surgery a success. I had the honor of having Dr. Kumar reattaching my left knee ACL a few years ago. That was an insight on how this surgeon conducts his procedures and instills pride and compassion in the supporting staff. This is a perfect example of a well functioning team that is well versed in patient care. From the staff at the front door who assisted in parking when my card would not work to everyone in between and Dr. Kumar and Jennifer, thank you very much. My only regret is that 5 stars are the maximum I may give! All the best and keep up the good work; it is appreciated!

All of the doctors and nurses at the Camrose Hospital are dismissive, disrespectful, and unkind. The wait times are ridiculous and doctors aren't willing to do most testing (x-rays, blood work etc.) They don’t really care for the well being of their patients. I’ve witnessed two cases where doctors told patients their bones weren’t broken. Where later doctors in Daysland confirmed that the bones were in fact broken. I understand covid may or may have not made the health care workers a little tired/overwhelmed, but if you can’t handle the work load or don’t actually find joy working in health care. Then don’t. People should feel comfortable walking into a hospital, when in need of medicine attention. Knowing they’ll receive quick/reasonable assistance, kindness and respect. I do not recommend Camrose hospital for any health care services. In the past 10 years it’s gotten ridiculous. Daysland has by far the best medicine services.

Daughter spent hours waiting for someone to look at a burn. Left without seeing a doctor. Absolutely pathetic

You will encounter burnt out, rude staff. But if you advocate for yourself you’ll get the care you need. There are few good ones left. Good luck.

This hospital is a joke. We took out 11 year old into emergency because of severe swellingin his mouth to the point he could barely breathe. After 2 hours we walked out because they wouldn't even give him anything for the pain. They just left him screaming and crying, and then tried a placebo to see if he was faking. The dr onhand claims he couldn't see a problem in his mouth. I'm not a dr and could tell his mouth was swollen, his tongue was swollen and he was in immense pain. Worst hospital in Alberta as far as I'm concerned. I will never subject anybody, no matter the injury to this supposed hospital. Great job AHS at failing the citizens once again. But at least all the managers made their bonuses this quarter

I saw Sherry in Ambulatory Care for an outpatient IV, and the whole process was streamlined and easy. She was so quick with the IV, I hardly noticed any pain, and she took the time to sit and chat with me to make sure I was comfortable. She explained everything thoroughly and was so personable and nice, I left feeling like I had been very well taken care of. I hope I don’t have to do this often, but when I come back, I’ll be requesting Sherry again.

My wife went in for day surgery. Staff were excellent, surgery went well. Cannot express how happy we were with the entire experience.

The emergency room is full of incompetent people who spend most of their time chatting with each other while the sick, elderly, and infants wait. Watched someone go through triage, sit and wait for over an hour, and then get told that they were never triaged.
The staff makes it feel like their problems are your fault. Go ANYWHERE else for an emergency, even a vet. As said in earlier reviews if I could give zero stars I would.

Best nurses, doctors and staff by far - and I've been to every hospital in Edmonton and surrounding area. The staff at St. Mary's has never made me feel forgotten or an annoyance, and the excellent care I receive puts all the hospitals to shame. If you have to go to hospital, this is the only one to go to.

A family member was admitted after a incident where they were severely dehydrated with cuts and abrasions. Being very weak not able to stand from a seated position they were discharged. Upon arrival to my home, they fell and had to be carried inside having accidents that make them feel helpless and depressed.
If your loved one needs help DO NOT take them to Saint Mary's Hospital.

Recent knee surgery. Couldn’t imagine being taken care of any better. All staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. I was respectful to everyone I encountered, and they reciprocated two fold. I honestly don’t comprehend how they all can stay as positive as they do constantly surrounded by negative situations. Thank you St. Mary’s!

Needed to go to emergency for a reason.there were 2 patients ahead of us.every time new people after us came in.they were able to get in to see Dr right away. (I understand some people must go first because of pain level.some people.not all!). So we supposed to see Dr. W.we waited 3 hours and finally got in. (all those 3 hours we saw Dr W at the nurse station.must be busy ‍️.). Dr. W left.different Dr came in.nurse got us in a room.we waited another 43 min inside. Dr Botha saw us for 3 min.didn’t even check all body for sickness.said. ”oh yea I had that.it’s allergy “ (I was keeping an eye on the wall clock all the time because I was already late for work). He gave us Rx and said wait for a nurse she’ll give you injection (asked for a sick note - he didn’t gave it). We waited another HOUR! (we felt like nurse forgot about us— it shouldn’t take that long for nurse to be back with injection!). I got dizzy.pale.almost fainted while waiting for a nurse to come in.and all we can hear is “ who is in trauma 1 and trauma 2.and who is there again!?) are you serious? ! You know. Cover patients room with curtain won’t cover their ears! Very unprofessional. You throw people in a rooms and forget about them!? You wouldn’t ask that loud about it if you knew there are patients waiting for way too long. (so we just left the room because I really felt dizzy and needed some fresh air.nobody saw us leaving (although there were few medical staff standing by). Or said anything while we walked away.hope we’ll never go back again.waste of time!
I am very disappointed in st. Mary’s emergency department! If people go there.you shouldn’t ignore them even tho if you know the patient don’t “look” sick so you can keep them all day waiting.there are serious reasons for people to go to emergency not just for killing time and stare at the wall! Emergency should be there to help people not to ignore them until it will be late to help!
Also. Next day we went to smith clinic they checked everything.gave sick note and said it’s not even allergy! Important to stay home off work for a few days.

Don’t go there if you are going to the ER. Your Better off driving 45 or even 3 hours to the next closest hostipal. All the doctors I’ve ever had there are ignorant and rude. I have a intense medical history and had to go there for not being able to breath and almost passing out as soon as I was able to breath again thy stopped caring about me. I don’t have asmtha and this has happened 3 times. They said I inhaled a popcorn seed and when I ask the doctor if I would of done that three times he said well I’m not with you. Now I did not inhale a popcorn seed. He was rude and I broke down into tears when he left a few times during my stay. Just don’t go there. He constantly said little stabs to me and put me down. It’s not worth it it’s very slow and if u get a room if your having a serious emergency they’ll stop caring once it’s not exciting for them anymore. Horrible experience
