The park is very large, provides a perfect opportunity to witness the beautiful foliage, if you go in the autumn. In addition to the walking paths and the bike route circling the park by the sea, the scenery is self-evident. If you have the time, I highly recommend coming here for a half-day stroll and taking in the beauty of Vancouver. This time, I rented a bike to go around the park, and the ocean view and the beautiful maple leaves created a picturesque scene. After cycling around, I not only didn't feel tired, but my body and mind were very relaxed. One thing to note is that when cycling, whether stopping or starting, please be mindful of whether there are people behind you!
Great park for a family afternoon/day/evening outing. Well maintained, and has a closed off payed pool area. Both kids and adults can enjoy the pool. It's great on a hot summer day! The park is also conveniently located right next to the elbow river, where you can either dip your feet in or go for a swim. In addition to the clean space there are also picnic tables and fire pit areas spread out all along the expanse of the park.
Beautiful park in the heart of Calgary SW, with a public pool, garden and pathways along a quiet lagoon off the Bow river suitable for sunbathing and wading.
Great place to walk and have a evening walk, Even in the fall. People are very friendly. I left my car keys on the bench and people put it on the side for me to find after 30 mins.so yes very safe and friendly neighborhood.
Beautiful park with playground and also they have a pool on the site but you have to pay to gain access. They also have a peacefull river as well it has small tiny fish.
Beautiful quiet fun place for the family great people clean loved every moment of it ice cream truck was out there too big beautiful baseball and soccer fields two wonderful sports and play grounds no one was drinking or smoking seemed like a great place to be
Shallow waters flowing through the park make it safe for kids to play, occassional visits by ducks and pigeons is a nice attraction. Ideal for picnics in small or large gatherings, there's a nice swimming pool too
Nice pool with lots of space to distance. I recommend reserving online as they have very limited drop-in space. There is a kiddy pool and both have small slides.
Set up under some trees, fire up the grill and cool off in the river. Great for families, puppers, chillers and grillers. Adult pops over at the slabs. Also the ice cream truck sometimes comes and that rules.
Nice shallow place on the river to play with amenities and a small child friendly playground. The beach area is a little muddy and the grass isn't always well timed but the river is great.
Docked here after floating down the elbow river. They were pruning and grinding trees which made the outdoor experience not so great. Great place to sun bathe and to cool off during the summer.
Picnic spaces to rent ($80 for 2 hours) for table and fire pit. Check ahead for fire bans, if you plan on using one. Lots of grass space to setup otherwise and enjoy the river and swimming. Beautiful trees also provide shade on the extra warm days. Geese and ducks also hang out here so please do not feed or harass them.
Always a great time at this beautiful park, there are various activities to do here for both winter and summer with family or friends. Activities such as hockey & tobogganing in winter are great here as there is a big skating rink that has hockey nets and a decent sized hill for sledding.
Big open area for bringing your family and friends. Ball court and space for playing soccer, or any game you feel for. Summer time there is a pool in the park. It has nice trails and barking around. Winter they have an open skating rink. Well kept and clean.
If parking wasn't a consideration, park is great. Parking holds about 40 cars MAYBE. Access to play in the river, picnic areas and the pool. It IS crowded, so that's a downfall for me.
Love Stanley park! It's a smaller park in regards to seating areas but it has a nice long running/bike path around the river. It does have a bit of a homeless problem though, they are always in the park. The park has a public swimming pool with lanes and a kiddy pool. There's a baseball park, gardens, lawn bowling, playgrounds, and open fields to play whatever sport. The only thing it doesn't have is basketball nets which is really disappointing and would be a nice edition.
