No wonder why this store has lowest rating and bad review. Poor customer service, staff don't have any knowledge about their products. A person named Jamie is the most rude person I've ever seen. She called herself Manager but she has zero knowledge of management and customer service. If she is really a manager than staples HR department needs to review their hiring process to recruit a manager.

Horrible experience at staples today. Went computer shopping for my son. Was walking along the isle and was approached by an employee, who was with another employee, asking if I needed any help. Yes, I’m looking for a desktop for my son. She pointed be towards the back of the store and told me they’ll be displayed along the back wall. Went to the back and found nothing but desks there. Went back and couldn’t find the original employee but did find the other employee she standing with. Approached her and said, “I’m sorry but could find the desktops there but could you help me? ” She asked, ”what are you looking for” to which I answer “a desktop”. Then she asked me three times “a what? ” As she kept asking me “a what” (3X) my answers kept getting louder and louder. To which she said sir please don’t be rude. At this post I’m so dumbfounded, I kept saying it louder and louder cause I thought she couldn’t hear me. But it turns out she doesn’t know a desktop computer is also referred to a desktop for short. In the last 4 years the level of competence in this location has nosedived. This is the last time I’ll be dealing with level of incompetence and haphazard employees. Thus, I’ll never be returning to this location again.

***UPDATE***
Along with this review, I reached out to Staples customer service. Honestly, wasn’t expecting anything to come of it. Not only did they respond but they went above and beyond my expectations. I’m very satisfied with the interaction I’ve had with their customer relations teams and hope for better trained staff in this particular location. Again, thank you so much Staples Canada for rectifying the situation and regaining a customer. BTW, the 5 stars are for Staples Canada not this location.

This store manager Garth is really rude person, yesterday I went to there for visa pic and that time girl told me if they rejected bring it back with original receipt so today we done with interview and they reject pic and on the spot we pay for another pic, after done my interview I went to staple at 17st store and explained everything to manager, he talk with me rudely and said he can take free pic for me, I mean manager doesn’t know what was policy yesterday and what is policy today, I never refer anyone to go there for passport or visa pic,

My photo for PR card (for travel) was rejected. I was told at the time they would give me a refund if photo wasn't accepted. They refused and would only do re-take making up excuse how they couldn't process refunds. Said usually the govt wasnt picky about photos for PR cards. So.you mean you don't take care do to a good job, or what? Said they were trained to do the photos and the machine was from the govt. So trained till re-take took 30mins - he kept adjusting / playing with the contrast that maybe should have been done in the first place if that needed to be done. Kept taking glares in photo. If you're trained in the first place you would know what the issue was and whether the photo was unacceptable. Instead asked me to determine if the re-take was good. You are the SUPPOSED TRAINED worker. Said he's taken hundreds. Well good for those people but not me who wasted over 67 days later to find photos were rejected and couldn't go for my trip.
This location used to have good service. Now they don't even bother to ensure your return business.

I have been going to this staple for years and I have never had an issue until today. New management new hiring whatever the case may be if you do not like your job. Find something else To Do a very simple.
I was a mistreated and I really felt discriminized. I will not be going back there unless the management changes.
And that is my opinion and my view. But they're definitely was discrimination very very shocked. It's two thousand and twenty three and this is what we're doing right now

Trying to do a shipment and during the transaction Garth comes up to the associate and tells them to go on break. My suggestion let the colleague finish the transaction best client experience. He then proceeds to get snippy with me re the transaction. Will not be using the store again and will not use eway either. Will take my online business to Grand & Toy.

Went here to pick up a laptop that wasn't in stock at our local staples (Who were fantastic about the problem and seemed genuinely disappointed they couldn't help us). Website said they had 1 at this location. Sales associate kept asking us weird questions about why we wanted the laptop and what we would use it for. After having that awkward interaction the associate goes into the back and can't find any in stock despite what the website had told us and doesn't explain why the website says they have them in stock. After going to two separate Staples stores that day (both of which listed having one of these laptops in stock on the staples website) we gave up and ordered the device directly from Lenovo instead.

DO NOT GO HERE! At least for ink. Their appreciation for keeping good customers is somewhat lacking.

I bought ink (Hp) and it printed 40 sheets. It's supposed to print 120 FULL sheets. I've read others buying ink here and having the same issues. YET they will not replace it. They told ME to contact HP, which I ended up doing. HP was somewhat surprised that they wouldn't replace it. In fact the woman I spoke with asked me 3x "so they told you to call us and wouldn't replace it? "
So, in other words, we have to do the work, at our expense, while these companies make the money.
Being on Temp Disability is hard enough without the extra expense of buying bad ink. I had a deadline also to print these papers. So instead of Staples just replacing it and dealing with THEIR VENDOR, now the consumer does that job. Now I can't fullfil my obligation becsuse I chose the wrong place to buy from ink from.

What's really upsetting is this store told me they don't have a problem with their ink. Well if they don't have a problem then what's the problem with e changing 1 customers ink instead of losing hundreds of dollars. My family buys from this store, but we have an agreement that we will boycott businesses if we feel they have not fulfilled their obligation to serve their customers. Like in the "olden" days when customer service, and keeping customers was a thing.

But over a 26.00 dispute, Staples is willing to loose a lot more money because of a "policy" that should and can be revamped. Not everyone lies and not everyone takes advantage of return policies. Accordingto their own staff, they've never had ink issues. So why have the policy then?

That's why Cosco is so successful. The number 2 reason (other than value in bulk) people support them is their return policy. Staples should learn that lesson.

I appreciate that I can order online and make contactless pickup at my convenience. It is also convenient from where I live. There website is not easy to navigate. They have also lost my orders. But staff is usually pleasant and helpful.

Self copy centre was straightforward. I had a thumb drive file to print, and the instructions were ready to follow. Not to say mistakes could be made. Color vs B&W, 2 sided, size of paper, etc.

They need to staff the Copy/Print of this store area better. I went in with a box of shredding. One staff was stuck a serving a customer who had some issue choosing a Purolator envelope. There was another staff behind the counter but was not offering to serve customers. There was a customer on a computer trying to obtain help to scan something, and others waiting. There was 3 staff milling around at the front checkout area as well. The copy centre area was the busiest area of the store, yet the worst staffed! We left and took our shredding to the UPS store where we were served promptly.

They're OK. Staffs I met are not very welcoming but not bad. You adk something, they give short answer leaving you to figure out the rest, reason for a 3 star.

One girl running the shipping and copy center. Lineup of 6 people waiting. 4 guys standing around talking and doing nothing else at the IT Service counter. Not one of them moved to offer to help her out. Just kept talking and left customers to wait. I had to go over to the IT counter and ask if they saw a problem with this picture. Unreal.

Custom service was terrible again. On the website items are listed as in stock at this location but when I went pick them up they were out of stock. Then the staff tried to sell me item that won’t work with my iPad Pro. Each time I have gone there I have had a similar bad experience.

Really bad experience with this store. The manager would not even bother to listen to what happened with a printer that is faulty. She was not accommodating and proceeded to hang up on me. Shop at any other staples as they were able to assist me with the concern unlike this location.

I experienced very worst customer service. And I will never go back here for shopping. The white guy over there just declined to show anything to me personally but he was very nice with white people. He just behaved like a racist and I recommend to everyone not to visit over here. I have never experienced like this whole situation I feel really bad from his behaviour. Average store but the copy center employees are helpful. In technology department the employees are always trying to upsell you something that you don't even need. The school supply section is good but I never find any employee in that section who is available to help.

Went there to buy business supplies & followed the rules for our company what they emailed us to follow to add to our company for billing. Since the cards are no longer to use anymore we were following the rules that were followed by the company email. Yet the useless staff had no clue nor did the assistant manager (Idad? - poor no knowledge manager) because he didn't even bother to come to the till to help nor get off his lazy behind to help us or help out his staff who was lost from not knowing anything out saying that there is no such thing. This store has no helpful staff & very lazy brainless management staff. If there was less than 1 star then I'd give it a -10/ 100. Hire better managers at this store.

So the customer service itself was fine. They were just doing their job. But super disappointed with staples policy period. Even my company without a receipt would at least give some sort of credit for actual "staples product" very disappointed. Will no longer shop at any staples.

I came for a quote on a poster I’d like to get printed out. The lady at the Solution Shop had no will to be there or help anybody, she just kept saying “covert it to a PDF”. It’s a physical copy I want printed larger (too large for the self serve) I told her I didn’t care paying the “service fee” they have of $3.99 to help customers behind the desk. No issue. But she kept trying to get me out of her face. I found it extremely rude. I worked in the Solution Shop in Fort McMurray for 3 years and never told anyone to “go home and figure it out”.

I went today to get some pictures printed. I needed help with printing two different pictures on one page. I wasnt able to figure out on my own. So i asked the indian employee there. She was very rude and refused to help me out as it was closing time but there were still 25 mins left. Will never go back again to this staples location.

I went to print something from my email and I waited for hours people standing behind me got to use the computer and I still waited and the staff did nothing. People on the computer took hours and the maximum time limit to use the computer is 20 minutes

Returns are very difficult here staff does not explain the policies clearly at all so instead of exchanging a printer for a new one I had to return it and wait 3 days to get my money back before getting another one. Staff was very unknowable of their own policies

Horrible customer service (which is usually typical at this location). Went for a cellphone and asked for assistance. I was the only person in the store and it took them 10 mins to respond (I actually had to go back and get some one that was supposed to be paged to help me) and then they fought me over a price match with best buy across the street for the same exact phone. Best Buy will be getting my business from now on. Never again to staples.

I don’t know why they have such a poor internet connection. Is it to keep people waiting for hours so that they can charge extra from their pocket? The computers work so slow, even for some scannings I had to wait an hour. Poorest service ever. Ugh

Usually I really love Staples but anyone who has health issues during Covid needs to stay away. They don't wipe down the baskets after each use and don't enforce mask wearing and employees don't follow the 6 feet. They have hand sanitizer and barriers for the cashiers but that's about it. STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES.

Things have been tough for everyone, I'm personally having troubles collecting my work share EI money from the government because of a forced CERB claim. I admittedly waited till last moment to get school supplies as mentioned above for reasons. I called since my sons school was not signed up with them for online purchase and asked if they could pick the order for me or should I come down and just pick it myself. Also asked if it was to late for them to do such a thing as I had 3 days till his school starts. The person at staples said it can't be ordered online and that they offer a service where I drop the list of school supplies off to them and they pick the order for me with a donation given of 15$. I said sure no problem and was reassured that they could get it done in 1 day. Ive called 2 days later and was told they would call back. 2 1/2 hours later and no call. I call again only to find that the list is not picked and its school tomorrow for my son. So now I'm off to go get supplies at 5 pm with my children which I don't take out in public for health reasons. Thanks staples for lying to me and adding more stress than there should have been. Not happy.

They sold me used PC screen with hair inside box.
Had returned in.
Had purchased printer and had to return it and had purchased over $600 new one
3 - 4 weeks later, never got refund
Called store and rude store employees are refusing to help
Someone has stolen over $300 at this store from my visa

This store is HORRIBLE. Stay away!
They have owed me a refund of near $272.00 to my Mastercard since March 25 2020.
I have contacted them several times regarding this issue. By phone and email.
Been promised, everything is under control and the refund would be there.
A particular fellow I have been dealing with, said he would follow up personally. That obviously hasn’t happened.
Three weeks since the return and still no sign of the credit to my MasterCard
Empty promises and excuses galore.
Never again. Amazon refunds so quickly.
No wonder we shop online.

I have had great experiences dealing with Staples associates in the tech department. Bikram at the Meadows Staples in Edmonton was a pleasure to deal with. Very knowledgeable in the area of computers (purchase, set up, upgrades etc.) He was also extremely helpful in helping my 84 year old father get into his phone after passwords were forgotten. I would definitely recommend Staples for the purchase and tech support of computers, software and all my technology needs.

Staff seems friendly enough but my problem is with Staples Corp. They charged me $12 for a fax to Calgary! That's the last $12 Staples ever gets from me. I will definitely be shopping at your competitors from now on where the gouging isn't so in your face.

Staff are friendly and helpful. They do copying and you can do yourself. It's a pretty nice store.

Awful location for the print shop. Lady at the counter was so rude, she did a sarcastic half-laugh when I asked about peinting our wedding invitations there. Said they couldn't do it, barely even looking at the paper, said it wouldnt work. Went and used the exact same model printer somewhere else.worked perfectly fine. Someone clearly hates her job
