We needed an existing commercial washroom modified into a barrier free washroom. We contacted Star Mechanical, and was in contact with Cory Viney. Cory and his team did a fantastic job, their price was very competitive, great quality, and completed in a very short period of time as they had promised. Had Robert out today to look at our HRV system as our indoor humidity was insane. Amazing experience. Not only did he locate the problems but he walked me through what wasn't working and what needed to be fixed as well as why certain parts of our HRV were not being maximized to their full potential. He answered any questions I had and even took the time to properly educate me on how to use my system properly - things I should have been shown by the builder when I bought. He was understanding, accommodating and friendly the whole time! My houses humidity is completely sorted now and feels SO much more comfortable. And I feel far more prepared going forward with my HRV and furnace. Cant thank him enough for today! 5 star experience for sure!

My experience with Star Mechanical and the plumber Muhammad (Sorry if I spelled your name wrong) is really impressive. Thank you for coming within half an hour and resolving the sump pump issue promptly. Appreciated.

Star Mechanical installed a hot water tank a year ago in my home, they were so responsive and took care of it the next day. 11 months later I had them replace my furnace, they were quick and prompt, very nice to deal with. Talked to them about AC installation also at that time, so they installed the coil and piping in the new furnace and arraignments were made for them to come back in May to do the outside work and tie everything in. I started emailing and texting the first of April as to planning for install, my emails were answered in the same manner each time. We will call you tomorrow!
I never received a call once, this went on for 6 weeks or more, 7 emails and same reply. I finally left a message on the website and received a call the following day from Christina Mills, I was made to feel like I was bothering them and wasn’t the most pleasant individual to deal with.
The outside install was done finally in June a week later than I was told as it was canceled last minute.
There workmanship on the install was beautiful, but they never tied in the electrical or the thermostat, they said maybe the next day and wondered if I could do it.
It has now been 2 weeks with zero correspondence to any of my texts or emails.

I am at a lose for words, was so happy with them and my balloon has burst!

This is the truth and only the truth I have no reason to lie or change facts, all emails and texts have been saved in case someone has issues

I hired Star Mechanical to install a natural gas line for a barbecue because they installed the same line on a number of similar units in my condo complex. The gas fitter said it would be “easy. ” Later, I found out they never actually pulled the permit to do the work, which the city assured me was a requirement of any gas fitter prior to installation. I have since contacted Star Mechanical to retroactively pull the permit, providing them with the receipt and work order. Yet, it seems they are intentionally stalling, knowing that, eventually, enough time will have lapsed so the city won’t penalize them for the illegality of their conduct. Inasmuch as I’d like to award them with a better review for the adequate work that I believe they did, I can’t be certain since the city won’t inspect it without the permit, which only a gas fitter can submit.

The work was done within an hour and I got informed that they would charge $100 per hour for the service. I was not informed about any other fee. The total amount of time that the guy took to fix was 5 mins. I was willing to pay $100 because of the service I was provided but I had to pay $207.90. I was not informed about the call out fee. I called other organizations and their deal was cheaper but I decided that star mechanical had the better deal at $100 per hour but I didn’t know there was a hidden fee because I was never informed about it.

We lived in our house for 3 years. When we sold our house, the home inspector said that water had backed up in to our weeping tile due to an improperly installed sump pump (done by Star Mechanical). The float on the sump would not trigger at the proper water level height so it was sitting in our weeping tile. A basic fix to this issue was installing a vertical float instead of the tether one that Star Mechanical had installed. I called them and I honestly believe that I would have had better luck explaining the issue to a 2 year old. They were ignorant and unprofessional. They had NO IDEA what I was talking about. After getting mad enough they finally agreed to send out a technician. When he got here he had absolutely no idea what to do or what the issue was. Really nice guy but absolutely no idea what he was doing even though I tried explaining to him that I just need a different float installed. I even offered to buy the float if he’d just install it. They still seemed confused as ever so I ended up telling them not to come back. I have ZERO experience in plumbing work but I ended up going to Canadian tire and buying a 50 dollar float and had the issue fixed within an hour. BE CAREFUL if you have had work done in your house by this company. We didn’t realize the problem until we had a home inspection done but it could have been bad. And if you need any work that they’ve done corrected or fixed…. Then good luck.

Not a whole good to say about this place. Got warranty service on a hot water heat they installed not the long ago.got stuck with a 600.00 bill and the install wasn't even fully finished. When I contacted the office.all.i got was a " that was a proper install. We didn't do anything wrong". Horrible customer service and no support in the long haul. I highly recommend shopping around first.

We used this company for a furnace install. Several times they left our front door wide open for lengthy times while it was storming outside. They removed a bunch of our tbar ceiling and made a mess in one room and didn’t clean it up. Some of the joints look like they were glued by a 5 year old. The pipe outside is not even remotely close to plumb. They started the furnace without telling us and smoked my wife, me and our 4 year old out and had the alarms all on. Then as we were sitting in the living room we noticed their van leaving… done I guess? Didn’t say anything just left? Didn’t re light our hot water tank. Crazy… makes me nervous about their workmanship on the furnace install. I also emailed them to talk to someone about this before posting this review but a week later no response. Horrible service.

Mohamed worked very good he solved any our problems as my kitchen drain was clogged he did a excellent job and he even installed a new water pump in my bathroom toilet tank as it was making a loud noise. He deservice 5 stars

Showed up 30 minutes late. When I made the appointment I was told someone would be there the following day. The next day came and no one showed up. When I called and asked what happened, they had forgot to book the appointment. Charged a premium rate for mediocre performance.

Had a gentleman come out on New years day to check my furnace, very professional and thorough did not get him name, but I would definitely use them again Thank You for the great service.

Our furnace stopped working last night (Christmas Eve) and by the time we realized that it was down it was after 11pm. We called Star Mechanical at midnight on Christmas Eve, and received a call-back by their on-call person within 3 minutes. He tried to troubleshoot over the phone but after about 30 minutes we were not able to so he had to send out a tech. At 1: 20am on Christmas morning a tech arrived and repaired our furnace for us. It seriously felt like a Christmas Miracle, they were so quick and professional (despite it being the middle of the night on Christmas). I cannot say enough good things about my recent interaction with Star, I whole heartedly recommend their services! Thank you so much for giving our family a warm Christmas morning to wake up to.

Not a good experience!
I have a leak in our relatively new building (built in 2016), plumbing work was done by Star Mechanical and Builder said we could call them to fix issues (if any). We have been waiting for a week after repeated calls to Star Mechanical - they will say they are coming but will not show, no calls to say they are cancelling or rescheduling. Ceiling is now damaged. This experience has caused my family great distress.

We had our furnace tuned up by Dustin a few weeks ago. It was a fantastic experience! The salesman Colin who got me booked in was friendly, accommodating and prompt. Dustin who came in to do the work was kind, thorough and described everything very clearly to us. We will not be going anywhere else for heating and plumbing! Payment was easy and the price was VERY fair. Thank you guys so much!

Mohamad recently did an installation of water lines and flange for future basement bathroom. He was punctual, knowledgeable and friendly, did a great job. Star Plumbing lucky to have him. I'd definitely recommend him to my friends.

I have used Star Mechanical twice now - replaced my hot water heater on one occasion, and had them come in to inspect my furnace on another occasion. Another company had told me I need to purchase a new furnace, so I wanted Star Mechanical to give me a second opinion. He did a great job of explaining to me what to look for, and the reason behind nothing actually being wrong with my furnace. I appreciate the professionalism and will always recommend this company.

I had Prostar come out to look at my hot water tank, after about 5 minutes I was given a verbal quote of $1100 to repair or $3100 for a new tank. I said to go with the repair.and I never heard from them again.no follow up no written quote nothing. Terrible customer service. I called another company and they spent about 20 minutes asking me questions and looking at the tank before he suggest a new tank because of the age of the tank, the ProStar guy didn't even know the age he asked me. He gave me a quote for a new tank that was $1000 less than prostar. DO NOT USE PROSTAR Plumbing. Terrible customer service. Also the service guy did not wear a mask, which is also troubling, there are a lot of choices out there, do not choose this one.

We just had a wonderful experience with this company. They installed a new furnace, hot water tank and air conditioner in our home. Their staff was professional, followed COVID Protocols when asked and respected our requests. The team John, Brandon, Jeff and Nolan were great and provided the best customer service. Dealt with Dustin today and even though he did not come out to our rental property, he offered valuable insight into our furnace issue. He spoke with our tenants to trouble shoot and offered advice on where to get parts. He also kept in touch with us in case we needed anything else. Highly recommend Dustin! I would recommend Star for plumbing and heating service. John did an excellent job to resolved our furnace issue. He got the parts that needed to fix it and took time to explain everything on how to maintain it properly. He has lots of patience answering all my ocncern and questions. To replace my valve for the hot water on my kitchen sink after he offered a $50 discount the quote was $650.00
I believe the quote for the valve was $ 300.00 plus. When I asked how much you could buy one at Amerie supplies he said I don’t know. I then asked why wouldn’t you know, you are plumber. He just looked embarrassed
I checked and the cost is under & 10.00
I said no to their service, I then found a plumber who did it for & 100.00

It was past midnight on a Saturday night and my furnace would not turn on. The temperature in my house had dropped down to 15 degrees and after calling several other furnace repair companies that claimed to be 24 hours, Star Mechanical was the only company that answered the phone and sent me out a technician. Brandon drove all the way out to Spruce Grove and wouldn't give up until my furnace was repaired and working again. I'm extremely grateful for the service and will only use Star for any further plumbing or mechanical needs I might have.

Carlos was able to arrange for heating to be installed in my garage on short notice, and with limit availability to be present to open the door for the specialists.

I received a call before they arrived, when they arrived and calls once they figured out how to install the equipment they called for confirmation and they finished quickly and left the are nice and clean.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing proper work for with permits!

Upon moving into our new built we found our beautiful kitchen sink scratched by one of the trades. Andrew of Star Plumbing was dispatched to replace our sink. I found Andrew to be very communicative, professional, respectful, and informative. Andrew shared bits and pieces of information about various issues one might experience in a new build and how a homeowner could respond. Thank-you for doing a thorough job ensuring that this time the sink was installed properly with a seal. I would highly recommend asking for Andrew for all your plumbing needs.

Had several quotes for AC from different companies. Quotes were inconsistent in price and unit size required. Ended up choosing Star because they had installed our furnace, their prices were the best, and they seemed to know their stuff. Install seems really tidy. They did forget to seal around the piping into the furnace but came back the next day to fix it. After using for the summer, it seems the unit size we got works well.

I would recommend Star Mechanical for any of your heating and air conditioning needs. They are polite, professional, and they get the work done on time. Keep up the excellent work.

My experience in getting a new central air conditioner has been great from start to finish. The tech shows up today, after watching him walk up the driveway spilling his coke all over his tools he proceeds to flick his cigarette into my front yard.awsome
All he had to do was replace a valve on a boiler, i fixed the error code the night before on it. Closed system with glycol as the medium. He mocked when i said i fixed the error, proceeded to say i need a descaling at $250 due to water hardness clogging tubes.its glycol.no water.no water hardness. Didn’t care to listen to that, just pressured the descale
Then showed him the valve with the gasket leak, clearly dripping, and tried to convince me that is normal and then mocked at me saying clearly the gasket shot, its leaking out between the split body. Nope, didnt want to look at what i was showing him.
Kicked him out of the house he was that bad!
Unproffessional, belittleling, arrogant and condescending
He clutched his can of half empty coke and left
