I hired Shane to conduct a combustion analysis on my furnace, to determine the carbon monoxide ppm level. He came on a Sunday after I was told by a different company I needed a furnace replacement due to a “failed” analysis. Shane was honest, knowledgeable and professional. He conducted a thorough analysis and found that our furnace was safe and not producing harmful levels of CO. I am grateful for Shane’s service and pragmatism, and I will hire him again.
Today I had a furnace replacement. Shane and his assistant did a great job. For all the time that we have been living in Canada, which is more than 12 years, I am pleasantly surprised by such an excellent level of service. From my initial contact with Shane at STM Cooling & Heating is has been nothing but professional and beyond. I work for a non-profit Sorrentino's Compassion House, and we have had a commercial General fridge for our clients use since we opened in 2002, from paperwork I found this was not a new unit when donated to us. We have had minimal service on this unit, until the day I called STM for some service. Shane came and did all he could keeping the cost down to try and keep the old unit working. We decided to give it the weekend to see if the efforts paid off. It was not meant to be, so again Shane went above and beyond in search of a replacement fridge that would meet our needs. Our A/C needed a new coil. These guys beat our other price by over $300, put in superior parts, and are working for it to be covered under warranty. Highly recommend!
Shane and company took out an old unit and installed the NEW CARRIER with complete professional workmanship @ a good price. We are satisfied with all that was done.
Called in on a Saturday (June-15-19) looking for a quote, guy who answered phone did not even start with company name, just "hello", sounded like I bothered him for calling. Poor customer service. Thank you for making my mind up fast on that first call. Will not be pursuing a quote from this company.
We had a great experience with STM. The inducer motor went out right in the midst of a cold spell. Shane took the time to explain again to a "furnace illiterate" client. Rather than repair the furnace, Shane informed us that replacing with a new higher efficiency furnace would make more financial sense. He gave us a great price on a new Lennox LM195 unit.several hundred less than competitors were asking.
Spent $1000 on furnace repair. Same problem recurred. Very talkative. Lots of excuses. Offered to come back and clean a burner. I asked if he could send his partner instead as I have lost trust in him. He told me to shop elsewhere. Happy to oblige.
