They have been my dog’s Vet for over 15 years and they are incredible. My fur kids have seen all 3 doctors and they are caring, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. I appreciate the staff who are all super friendly and professional. I highly recommend.:)

I had to see an eye specialist for my dog and was able to get an appointment quickly so proper treatment could be started

I called here about bringing my dog in for an orthopedic assessment. I was advised that the vet at the clinic specialized in disorders of the eye not orthopedic matters. However the staff member offered to ask for a referral to an orthopedic veterinary clinic and call me back, which she did in a matter of minutes. I wish I had asked for her name because it was a very considerate and thoughtful thing to do working at a busy clinic.

Dr Rory Wiens helped our bulldog recover from a bad eye ulcer. They fit him in with no notice and dealt with our anxious questions. Highly recommended.

I would strongly recommend this vet clinic. The front end staff, vet techs (shout out to Leah K- you’re an angel!), and vets are compassionate, personable, and professional. My larger breed dog (with major vet anxiety) had to get TPLO surgery and they took great care of her from the beginning to the end. The owner Rory even carried our 80lb pup to the car like a little lamb after her surgery as she was too zonked out to walk. Thank you for the excellent care you’ve all provided!

I have been going since they opened this new location and all the staff are so awesome, they are so welcoming and inviting, they walk you through anything and everything regarding your furbaby and they do truly care about your pets, I will continue to go here for all my animals and recommend them to everyone. Their prices are not bad, it’s a vet any vet can be pricey but you get what you pay for and they generally are here to help your pet and not to rip you off! Thank you so much to all my staff for caring for our baby’s keep doing what you’re doing!

Just the initial phone call was amazing! The prices are great and the lady on the phone was very informative and friendly. This will be my go to vet from now on.

This place is fantastic. Always had excellent service and always felt like the costs for services were more than fair. They truly seem like they just love your animals. Recently we sadly had to put our 2 dogs down but had another great experience with the staff. 5 stars for sure.

Edit to my old review. It is impossible to book an appointment no emergency care. Three weeks to have a aural hematoma looked at and a week to renew a prescription. While booking an appointment it was suggested that they send my file to another Veterinary Clinic. I will now take thier suggestion and go elsewhere. They don't seem to care about clients as there is a shortage of vets and they will just take on new clients, it's a shame.
We use Dr. Wiens since our dog was puppy. Always able to get a quick appointment and deal with any concern with knowledgeable advice.

Its our firs dog in the family and this vet is amazing, the staff is very friendly and the doctors are great.

Our dog Kaya had a tumor on her foot and initially we had taken her to another vet. After multiple unreturned phone calls to me I decided to go elsewhere.
I am so glad I came across these wonderful people. From the first visit Dr. Miller was amazing. She took time to sit with Kaya and actually try and sort out what the issue was. She had cuddles with Kaya and treated her so sweetly. Kaya ended up having cancer that we had removed from her foot, but it spread elsewhere and we ended up having to make the decision to put her down.
Dr. Watts was the vet we had for the next visit, and he was equally amazing. He cuddled her and was just really compassionate and sweet with her. He was compassionate towards us when giving us options as well. He made us feel like we made the right decision. He was there when we said goodbye to her, and his demeanor in our time of grief was so appreciated. Any of the staff we interacted with were amazing, and I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking.

If I could give 10 stars I would! My little Chihuahua is so aggressive and Rory didn’t have to use a muzzle or anything he was able to complete three different eye exams without any nips or issues! He took the time to build rapport with my Marner and I cannot express how much I appreciate that in a vet! Thanks Rory! We’ll be back again:)

The doctors and vets are so caring and capable. I never have to wait long for an appointment and their fees are very reasonable. I recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

This place is amazing, I've been here a few times for my animals and everytime they deal with my emotional butt so gracefully and professionally. They're prices are fair and their emergency vets are amazing.

We went to the clinic recommended by our very good friends.

My senior shih tzu had surgery done on her eye back in june by Dr. Rory, we were referred by our regular vet and i only have great things to say! Coco had an ulcer in her eye, we went to two other vets before we got an appointment at sturgeon animal hospital and the other places had told us that we should remove her eye.after having a consultation with dr rory he told us that he can save her vision and her eye! I was so relieved.she is healing great, shes usually grumpy but seems like a completely different dog now after her surgery.i’m so grateful to all the staff at Sturgeon animal hospital

Just had one of the most wonderful experiences here with Dr Miller, which is saying a lot considering the circumstances. The staff was very pleasant and kind to my dog, I had no concerns with them taking her in alone. I will be changing over to Sturgeon Animal Hospital permanently for my fur babies!

Everybody there was so helpful and friendly. They were able to answer all my questions. I will definitely be coming back.

One day last week I found my dog Oliver a chihuahua dachshund cross, licking, what looked to be a cyst and bleeding. I called this clinic in the morning and had an appointment booked for that afternoon no problem. It was a curbside appointment which I felt a little uneasy about at first but it went very smoothly. I called the office upon arrival gave the vet tech all of our information and she came out almost immediately to take Oliver in for his appointment. I then waited in my car for the Dr. 's phone call to give me the prognosis. He explained that it was a cyst that needed draining and was infected. He said that he drained it and offered to drain two other cysts as well with only local freezing. The Dr.then brought Oliver out in about 20 mins and explained the whole procedure and how to care for Oliver's wounds and said that I could bring Oliver back in a couple weeks to have the stiches removed for free. A few minutes later the vet tech came out with medications and the remote credit car device, explained everything that I needed to do for the next 14 days and asked me again if I had any questions. This was probably the most probably the most relaxing non stressful vet visit that I have ever experienced. Oliver did not seemed upset in any way. I would definitely recommend this clinic to any one and will continue bringing my dog to this clinic without a doubt.

Outstanding Customer Service and Pet Care! We have used several other Vets Clinics in the past but the excellent service, care and pricing we receive from Sturgeon Animal Hospital cannot be beat!

5 stars isn't enough for this animal hospital. I am a new cat mom, just adopted back around Christmas and all the staff here have been absolutely fabulous. I've gotten Dexter all of his shots and got him neutered at the beginning of March, you all went above and beyond to make me feel at ease with all the processes. Thank you katy, destiney and both of the incredible doctors that have taken such good care of my boy. (I am sure I'm missing a couple people) You are all fabulous.

Rory has created and amazing vet clinic. He along with all of his staff and other vets are amazing, we will not take out animals anywhere else!

This place is so accommodating of my little guy (an energetic Morkie named Buddy) and other pets that I've seen when in and out. I trust them with my furkid and always find the front staff, vet technicians and doctors to be very thorough and helpful. I really appreciate the caring people at Sturgeon Animal Hospital and recommend them whenever someone is looking for a vet. Btw, they have moved to their new location (near Coscto) and curbside food pick-up worked well on my first visit. I'm hoping to tour the new facility (when #COVID19AB rules allow) but will continue to use them regardless. They are technically further from my home (driving distance) but I would have followed them anywhere! #LoveThem?

Dr. Joel is a very gentle and thoughtful vet. He will go the extra mile to ensure all your questions are answered and will even respond to email inquiries about possible ailments.

The doctors are always helpful and so kind. I have Bulldogs so spend alot of time at the vet. These guys are always terrific. The staff is super accommodating as well. Love them all.

All the staff are very friendly, helpful and understanding. My kitten passed away post-surgery to no fault of their own, and they were very kind and answered all my questions. They made a devastating moment as easy for me as possible. Would 100% recommend.

This has been my vet since I moved to St. Albert 4 years ago. Dr. Rory is amazing and I’m glad I found him. It’s tough selecting a new vet you can trust and count on for the little fury family members but this place is great.

When your dog's are so excited that you pulled into the parking lot, you know your vet is amazing! I can't find anything bad to say about Dr Rory Weins and the crew. They treat us and the fur kids so amazingly well. Rory is honest, ethical snd will never push anything on a patient/2 legged that is unnecessary. I tell everyone about Sturgeon animal hospital.

We’ve been going to Sturgeon Animal Hospital for a few years now. Dr. Rory is great with all of my dogs. The girls that work in the front and the back are all amazing.
I can’t explain how much their love and support meant to me last week when we had to put down our beloved 10 year fur baby.
Thank you from the bottom of our heart for your compassion while she was here and in her last days.

Dr. Rory is amazing! He loves animals and is patient and kind with all of them; even my high anxiety rescue dog that is afraid of men is happy to be treated by Dr. Rory. The technicians and support staff are also amazing and take time to get to know their cli note. Dr Rory accommodates us and provides special care for our unique circumstances. Additionally he supported our local rescue with offering discounts for treating a litter of puppies.

Always answers my questions and feel like I'm in good hands. Had neutering surgery for our dog and was such an easy recovery process. Nothing but good things from this place!

I called here this afternoon frantic and in tears, as my dog was having a severe allergic reaction to vaccines she received this morning. Her whole face was swollen, her eyes were barely open, she was vomiting and lethargic. The lady on the phone simply said, we are closed in a half hour and all booked up. In any other circumstance, this would have been fine. It was urgent and every second counted. I feel like an appropriate response would have been to assist. I live five minutes from this clinic. Thankfully I was able to find another clinic in St. Albert that simply said, yes bring her in. We all love our pets and a little bit of flexibility can make all the difference.

After our vet retired from here we were very sad as she was incredible. We saw Dr Rory and he had amazing bedside manner. His knowledge was very helpful and we were very happy to see him. Would highly recommend this clinic!

We went to Dr. Rory after my dog's leg surgery for follow up. They were efficient yet thorough. He is an excellent veterinarian is very attentive to me and my dog. He answered any questions I had and made sure I had no anxiety when I left. 10/10 would recommend

My dog was having GI issues that had the potential to require surgery. Sturgeon didn’t have the equipment to do it non surgically, rather than just operating and taking my money sturgeon referred me to a vet with an endoscope. He was able to have the mass cleared with out being cut. Sturgeon put the needs of my dog ahead of profits, they are great people!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Rory and the staff at Sturgeon Animal Hospital. My dog, Banks, required "emergency" eye surgery as he had a very bad cornea ulcer. Rory and his staff accommodated us and changed their schedule so Banks could be seen immediately for surgery. During our follow-up appointment, Rory determined that Banks needed to have a second procedure - which again he was taken in immediately, after hours to tend to his eye. After his two surgeries, I called and popped by numerous times as I had a million questions and concerns for the vet techs - they were always happy and more than willing to provide support. I will absolutely be coming to Sturgeon Animal Hospital for all my vet care needs, moving forward.:)

My 6.5 year old boxer had ACL surgery 2 weeks ago and Dr. Wien's and all the ladies were amazing. Thank you for always showing us compassion for Rooney. He loves you all so much. We have been dealing with this vet since Rooney was 10 weeks old and always been completely satisfied. I highly recommend Sturgeon Animal hospital for all your animal needs.
