We had to come here to deliver because our small town hospital isn't capable. All the nurses and doctors we encountered over our 2 days there we above and beyond. We only experienced the delivery room and the post partum room, but it was the best possible experience.

Came with my 6 months old baby who had a fever was barely eating and runny nose and cough. Don’t know her name but there was an Asian lady working at the front middle age girl dark hair who told me that babies don’t matter and that my baby wasn’t as sick as others without even assessing my baby first. I had my baby here and have come here many times. This will be my last and I will make sure no one that I know comes to this place because they do not have knowledge and in my opinion they talk out of there behind to shoo you away so they don’t have to speak to you. This is not a safe place to come when you are sick.

I have never written a review before; however I feel it’s important for any expecting momma to know the absolute genuine care I received while birthing my baby here.
In June I had my second baby. Previously I had my first baby 2 1/2 years ago at the grey nuns. It was a horrific experience. The nurses were absolutely horrible and degrading. I felt I left feeling defeated and inferior. I also had a horrible experience trying to receive an epidural (not their fault, couldn’t get it in because of a previous accident).
So this time around I knew I wasn’t having pain meds and needed a new hospital because there was no way I was going back there to deliver.
So I choose the sturgeon. The night I went into the labour the nurse couldn’t get any contractions on the machine (alllllll back labour, never got to picking up contractions) but she stated she could tell I was in labour and would speak with the doctor.
They admitted me. Unfortunately my blood pressure was quite high, which made me soo nervous they were gonna through me in for a c-section. The nurse quickly assured me that that was not the case at all and they would just check me periodically. Since I had no epidural I did not have to be hooked up to ANY machines. It was absolutely amazing the nurse would come in while I was in the boiling hot shower trying to relieve some back pain, check on baby and call it good. They were incredibly encouraging everytime they came in with tons of words of affirmation and enthusiasm. You’d think these nurses were at their first birth. It was incredible. Even when it came time to push, one of the nurses had convinced me to put a peanut ball between my legs cause I was in so much pain but my cervix wasn’t opening completely, I put the peanut ball in my legs and literally 2 minutes later gave birth. At the time I was like heck no get out of my face but she was so gentle in reassuring me it would help I gave it a try! They even let me give birth with that peanut ball still I between my legs. The nurse after kept talking me up about the power it takes to have a baby natural.
I have absolutely nothing but amazing things to say.
I had one sassy nurse in post partum and I was on such a good happy high I stated to the other nurse I did not want her back. There was no question, I never seen her again.
I will say however if your insurance covers a private post partum room, go for it! Very worth the expense!
Sorry for the story book I just want every momma to feel secure in thier choice and I would 1000000% choose them again!

I came into the hospital in extreme pain. I was standing in the line to be admitted and was sweating, crying uncontrollably, breathing like I was in labor, I was very visibly sick. I even had security ask me if I needed a wheelchair or anything, I was NOT doing well and this was clearly visible. I had to sit in the waiting room while I was sweating profusely, crying, panting, I was in extreme agony for HOURS. I was basically dying in their emergency room. I had a lady pray over me because I was so sick. Not 1 person asked if I was okay or did anything to help me. I was made to sit there for 6+ hours with no help from anyone. I felt desperate. I ended up going home as I could not bear it, and I had 2 little kids at home that needed me. I ended up calling an ambulance the next day, and not only was I treated like a joke by them, I was brought to the hospital just to be put back in the waiting room where I was expected to wait 8+ hours (probably more, this was just the estimate) while I was in unbelievable pain, I could not do it. I was balling and begging my Mom (who was with me) for help. I kept saying I wanted to die! I kept saying I felt like I was in labor but worse than labor. I have 2 kids so I would know how that feels. Puking was the least of my symptoms/worries but they kept focusing on the fact that I was vomiting. They thought I just had a flu and was being a baby. I explained that I had back pain radiating into my butt and down into both my legs and my feet. My entire body was shaking in agony, I couldn't stop moving my legs and MOANING in pain. My mother luckily ended up bringing me to the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital where I waited only an hour. They treated me before others, as they could tell I was in dire need of medical assistance. They tested my urine which came back with an insane amount of bacteria. They gave me CT scans, X-Rays, blood cultures, anything they could think of. I had 4 bags of fluids as I was extremely dehydrated, and 2 different types of IV pain meds. They started me immediately on IV antibiotics. Even opioid pain meds didn't relieve my pain.it was that bad.
It turns out I had a bladder infection that went to my kidneys and into my bloodstream. I was SEPTIC. I was actually dying sitting in their waiting room. I was dying in the ambulance as they made me feel like a fool. And I was dying again when they plopped me down in the emergency waiting room to wait who knows how long. I had to go into the Fort Sask Hospital for 7+ days to get IV antibiotics, OBVIOUSLY I WAS VERY SICK!
To be expected to sit and wait that long while I am in extreme, uncontrollable pain is RIDICULOUS. I was begging to DIE. And people with cuts and twisted ankles were brought in before me. I have never in my life felt so desperate, I was begging for help. I am by no means a rude or aggressive person, so I sat there trying to be polite. But it was very clear I was not okay. I even told them I felt like I was in labor and my pain was a 10/10 maybe even 11. Both times with this hospital I got ZERO help. Absolutely despicable. And to be made to feel like I was being dramatic.is so upsetting. The moaning that I was making was like nothing I have ever heard in my life. I cant even do it now, it was my body's reaction to the infection taking over my entire body.
This place is a JOKE. Drive the extra 30 minutes elsewhere, you will thank me later.

I recently delivered my baby here on September 24,2023. I ended up in an emergency C-section after 24 hours of labor. During my labor, surgery, and recovery, I had dealt with a lot of different nurses and doctors. And I loved every single one of them! Everyone was so attentive and helped me through the entire process. My baby Ella ended up in the Nicu the first night, and the Nicu nurses were so hands-on and amazing with her! And they let us spend as much time as we wanted with her. 10 out of 10 recommend delivering here, my only wish is that there was an option for a private room for recovery as I had an awful roommate the last night that was kind of ruining my experience. Everything else was fantastic!
19 September 2023 20:10
Wow. All I gotta say is wow.

Took my daughter here, as she had severe abdominal pain. The estimated wait time according to the website was 6 ish hours. Well that’s NOT even close to accurate.

Spent 9 hours in the waiting room. Took almost 4 hours to do blood work, and an X-ray. But they weren’t able to do an ultrasound. Made us come back the next day.

By APPOINTMENT. I don’t understand why it takes 8 hours (still counting) to get a result for an ultrasound. Like 2 days at this hospital for this. Almost at 24 hours at this hospital for massive abdominal pain. And I’ll make it clear that we did go to the medicentre first and was told to go to emergency services.

You’re failing our people. The amount of people who walked out in the emergency room was insane. People would rather suffer then get help because of how terrible it is to get help.

I can understand being busy, understaffed, underpaid. But this is sad. Do better Alberta. Do better.
01 September 2023 2:14
I had a good experience here with my son we had an emergency and although the wait was long the nurses were very caring and reassuring and made a very stressful situation a lot more bearable for a worried mama
30 August 2023 23:02
Mt daughter was rushed by ambulance at 530 pm due to losing conscience and hitting her head. We didn't get out till 230 am.
But that's not what upsets me the most, what upset me the most was a elderly lady came in the same time we did, bleeding profusely cause she smacked her face. Her nose was huge, she was bleeding profusely. She finally couldn't wait any longer, so her brother said my sister can't wait any longer, this is her 3rd hospital! She fell at 9am and is bleeding profusely and your not helping this poor lady. Another patient came in, had a seizure right in front of staff, they wheeled him to the hallway and left him there by himself. A few minutes go by, and he starts having a seizure again.
So I say, hey that gentlemen is having a seizure again. So they all run over there. Like he just had a seizure in from if admitting and you put him in the hallway by himself.
Another gentlemen came in, he fell, can't go to the washroom, so they ask him to do a urine sample, the pee comes out dark red. He is extreme pain as the night wears on, but a guy comes in, talking and laughing, nicks his leg on a rock,
Not dying in pain, and that guy gets called on within half an hour of being there, but the guy getting worse by the hour, peeing dark red blood, has to wait and wait before that guy
?

I am completely disgusted with the care over at this hospital.
17 August 2023 22:11
They treat patients like animals, including those in critical health, near death. From the security to the "doctor's" this "hospital" is not up to snuff.

You will be treated poorly here. If your aren't, you're an outlier.

Love to share more of their abuses, but if you want to see for yourself, seek their "help". You'll be drastically disappointed.
25 May 2023 14:06
Best hospital by far compared to any in Edmonton.
Stay is friendly, understanding.
The fiance was there yesterday for a historectemy and they took really great care of her.
22 May 2023 17:37
Very positive feeling right from when you walk in - staff friendly, helpful, approachable and efficient and knowledgeable
13 May 2023 0:05
The nurses and doctors were all truly amazing! So caring and helpful, I feel so lucky to have delivered my baby here. Thank you to all the staff for making our labour and delivery so special and great!
02 April 2023 19:10
Rude doctors and staff. No one was in hospital and still they saw me after 6 and half hours. First doctor left while nurse told me that he is coming to see and i heard him saying nurse that next doctor will check him. All drama felt racist people
16 March 2023 13:33
This is an extremely unprofessional hospital.nurses can’t do their jobs and expect you to do it for them.the postpartum unit is absolutely embarrassing.would not recommend, try the uoa or royal alex
07 March 2023 22:55
I gave birth here in December through a scheduled csection. My doctor (Dr. Lacasse) was incredibly professional, efficient and kind. Her and the doctor helping her out that day were making casual conversation during surgery which really helped ease my mind in a very stressful procedure. The anesthesiologist was awesome, and didn't hesitate to give me more medication the second I started feeling anxious. The post partum nursing staff were also top notch! Especially nurse Laura who is a truly compassionate soul that I was so grateful for during my first hours as a new mom. Highly recommend delivering here if you can!
04 February 2023 2:17
More than one terrible experience there. ER nurses are extremely judgemental and gossipy. Would rather sit at the U of A for 8 hours, then go back to the Sturgeon Hospital ER. Every other department in the Sturgeon is great, and I have never had any issues.
26 January 2023 17:48
Got a blood test there, and somehow they lost the sample? Shows that the staff isn’t organized or doesn’t care
20 January 2023 23:03
Please do not goto this hospital.
Very unprofessional nurses and Gynaecologists here.you will be treated just as a body and not as a human being.
I regret choosing this hospital & Sturgeon women health’s Gynae …
Wish they knew their job and how to value others.
20 January 2023 11:21
Awful experience with their GI department. Lied to on multiple occasions, brushed off my concerns, and I’m left still in pain days later.
06 January 2023 6:59
Sturgeon Emergency.
Just go into one of the Edmonton hospitals. You will see the doctor sooner. Never again, Never!
28 December 2022 22:17
I went for day surgery today.
Staff and doctors were fantastic, great work everyone.
Thankyou
08 December 2022 6:11
This hospital is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to never again. They have no staff at night. They make you wait forever. No one comes around to check on you or give you results. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The staff are rude when they finally do come around. NEVER AGAIN
07 December 2022 10:12
Terrible terrible terrible emergency room the absolute worst. My wife was there from 10: 00 in the morning till 9 at night for blood work and a ultra sound.complete joke they say your next your next then you wait there for hour after hour complete joke of a hospital would not recommend at all
09 November 2022 12:10
Had a family member in the ccu, cannot express how thankful I am for the staff here. Everyone was so friendly, kind and compassionate. They were so understanding and explained everything in terms we could understand. They collaborated to give the best care possible, we are so appreciative to have such wonderful people caring for our loved one.
29 October 2022 15:23
Worst hospital ever i’m bleeding everywhere and have difficulty breathing and they make me wait four hours. Don not come here better end up just dying
27 October 2022 9:46
I've always had really great experiences at this hospital! I get the impression they're pretty well funded
19 October 2022 17:19
Only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 was the waiting time. Other than that- the best hospital I have been to. The doctors and nurses are always so respectful, helpful and kind. Thank you!
29 September 2022 1:49
Staff are nice enough. Zero ability to manage patient flow or efficiency. Needless long waits when they say they are fully staffed.
22 September 2022 5:18
My sister was scheduled for CT scan on July 8th 2022 and it was cancelled when we arrived without prior notice over the phone or email. We drove for 40minutes, paid the 2 hour parking, and my sister took a no pay leave from work for the procedure to be done.it was scheduled since May but they did not even care to phone/email that their dye/contrast is only reserve for emergency cases. This is unacceptable! Sturgeon Community Hospital, you can do better.
04 September 2022 3:21
DO NOT GO HERE. Staff are absolutely useless, the doctors don’t even know what they’re doing and they’re all over the place with the information they give you.
15 July 2022 5:41
A extremely nice hospital, theyve got really hard working nurses and doctors that do thier besrt to take care of you, no matter what they are going through in their ligfe they always try their best to help you. Only negative is the small amout of parking spaces avalabile they should expand it.
10 July 2022 16:28
DO NOT go to this “hospital” if you can avoid it. Came in with chest pain, tingling all over and extremely light headed with an irregular heartbeat and waited for 8+ hours to even get in to a bed not to mention the wait time once in a bed. If I wasn’t concerned about my health I would have left multiple times. During my time in the waiting room I overheard a lady saying she had been waiting for 12 hours!
27 June 2022 20:18
I was there 12: 30 noon waited 6 hours to go inside another 2 hours to see the doctor i did couple X-rays
I had broken arm all i got is arm holder left hospital around 11 pm
I saw the dr twice for less than 2 mins
The nurse was nice but trust me they waste so much time both drs and nurses
26 May 2022 22:05
I went in just over a month ago because I sliced the tip of my thumb off. I’ve waited to review to give myself time to get over my experience but I’m still bothered. Because of how I cut my finger they had to cauterize it, not a big deal but I asked about freezing and was told no because it shouldn’t hurt, well let me tell you burning the tip of your thumb with silver nitrate hurts A LOT, I feel like I was tortured. Imagine burning your thumb with a soldering iron for ten minutes. I had tears running down my face uncontrollably and the Dr just kept burning me little bits at a time until my whole thumb tip was burned. Then I had to get a tetanus shot which the nurse just shoved in me and walked away while I had blood dripping down my arm, didn’t even give me a bandage or gauze for the blood. Then sent home with my burnt thumb wrapped up with no way to cool the burn, I didn’t sleep for two nights because of the pain but had they just froze it at least the first night I would have slept and maybe I wouldn’t start crying again telling people about how much pain the doctor put me through unnecessarily. I would have even paid to get freezing, from what I’ve heard from others in the health care industry freezing before cauterizing is standard practice. I think in the future I’ll go to an Edmonton hospital.

Wait time was good though and the triage staff were very friendly.
20 May 2022 22:34
I wish I could give them 0 star.worst experience ever dr. Cadili is rude and very unprofessional.the nurses there were the worst, they had no idea what they were doing.without the freezing, he just started cutting in.and when i screamed he said “i will leave your surgery if you will scream”. These doctors and nurses need to be reported to someone.if anyone knows who i can complain this to, pls let me know.i tried to contact the health minister.
08 May 2022 9:46
Maternity ward style delivery unit, so fathers are told to sleep on the floor or in chair so make other arrangements if you expect to stay with your pregnant woman during her labour
11 April 2022 17:58
Wait times for emerg aren't that great. Labor and Delivery staff are amazing. I've had 2 babys here and both times L&D was great. First time, the maternity ward nurses were not attentative at all, it seemed I annoyed them just by being there. However, they were under construction at the time. Second baby everyone was great, nothing but good things to say. Except the lactation consultant was a more touchy then I would have liked.
02 February 2022 18:01
Completely terrible they do not care at all waited 6 hrs in the waiting room with fainting and dizziness It was seen by a doctor for 5 minutes who refused to run any test and sent me home
29 January 2022 19:46
I found the emergency doctor to be.a bit in the young side? She clearly has no bedside manner whatsoever. For being in emerg there was no one else there really.but after waiting over 1.5 hours for her to breeze in to tell me not to bring in my high fever and shaking 2 year old because "we have vaccines now" is not an acceptable example of providing medical care in my opinion. What the f a vaccine has to do with it looking like my baby was about to go into seizures is beyond me. I question the legitimacy of her title almost.ridiculous.
06 January 2022 9:14
Thank you so much for you’re help nurses and doctors You help my pain go away and saved the day by helping me my pain go away I really appreciate it. The Sturgeon Community Hospital is the best hospital to go very fast service most of the time especially in emergency situations and very kind and nice people I recommend you go to this hospital when you’re sick or injured
04 January 2022 20:43
I took my very Best Friend to hospital after trying to fix him on my own, a 2-3 day try playing Dr. Covid did not allow me to pass the Visitors section so he got wheeled to Information by a Nurse alone. I was very upset and asked the Attendant who I assumed was a Nurse what I should do. She gave me a slip of paper with a phone number and told me to phone the Hospital in 2hours assuring me he would be OK. I phoned they said he was in waiting room. Then he phoned very upset.saying very harsh words to a best friend of 16 years. The Friendship is over.so sad A misunderstanding given by an Attendant. I miss my Best Friend daily. Xo not leave loved ones at the Hospital you could loose a Great Deal.
01 December 2021 20:55
I have never had any experience at this hospital that hasn’t been positive (other than what brought me to the hospital in the first place). Yes there are waits and limited resources but that is not the fault of the hard working staff, they do the best they can with what they have. When myself or a family member has needed care the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital have been amazing.
11 October 2021 17:21
The best. My daughter was Born here 2017. All team were awesome:) highly recommended.hospital as well organized & super clean along with professional staff.
27 September 2021 13:37
Whenever a family member has come here for something major, there has been a huge issue. We're an understanding bunch, but when trends appear over years, you have to wonder. I'll quote a doctor from the UofA: "if you want a view, go to the sturgeon. If you want real medicine, go to the University of Alberta Hospital".
24 September 2021 12:44
I would love to say koodos to all the staff and nurses of Sturgeon Hospital. From the security guard, ER, AR, OR, DR, Surgeon, Doctors and most especially the lady nurses. You guys were so beautifully awesome. You were really thriving and shown how you loved your job. It was incredibly uneasy to each one of you guys how you handle the buzzle and hassle in your area. You are all sweet. Keep up the great work. Keep Canadian proud.
10 September 2021 20:59
Thank you very much to Doctor Lee and Nurse Deirdre for their professionalism and attention, I try to stay away from the hospitals as much as I can, but after being two days in pain and few huge blisters from a sunburn, I couldn't take it anymore, when I arrived at the emergency room, Nurse Deidre was very attentive and professional and Doctor Lee was amazing, both were very knowledgeable and I was in and out in no time. Thank you once again, you are doing a great job!
09 August 2021 17:48
My husband has been waiting over 4 hours to get stitches and still waiting! The nurse told us he would get in for stitches right away and told me to wait in my hot car. I have been waiting thinking the doctor could show up any minute! This is ridiculous
20 July 2021 15:37
Just got home from a hernia surgery. I was absolutely terrified because that’s my one phobias, but All of the staff were absolutely amazing! The surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses ect. First time ever being put sleep or having surgery and I couldn’t be more impressed and happy with the whole thing.
02 July 2021 14:12
Best place to go in the metro area. Great support staff here who actually seem to care about their patients. My grandma was treated like a person not a number.
24 June 2021 12:35
I went here with weird covid-19 symptoms and they were awesome to deal with and explained everything I was going through well. The were timely in getting test results back to me and I was put a little more at ease with my symptoms after the explanations I was given.
31 May 2021 23:14
I understand the long wait as it’s the way it is everywhere else but the triage nurse guy doesn’t have to be so arrogant. He should just take the information and keep his dumb opinion to himself. That’s how professionals do. Other than him, everything’s fine.
13 May 2021 2:47
Went there for a partial obstruction a few years back, went at give or take 1AM and sat in the waiting room for a good 4 hours or so. Waiting times are long and tedious. Checked me into a room and I spent another additional hour waiting for someone to come examine me. Someone came to check up on me and they simply said that I have to make myself throw up.

At least it worked, but it's kinda dumb how a partial obstruction wasn't taken too seriously. Staff was friendly with me tho.
03 May 2021 4:53
I can’t thank the amazing staff, nurses and doctors at the Sturgeon Hospital. I went to emergency yesterday. I was in severe pain, couldn’t breath and was scared. Due to COVID my husband couldn’t be with me. The care I received, but he medically and personally was second to none! They worked hard to help me and keep me safe, they showed so much caring and comforted me. Yesterday was a very bad experience but they all made me feel safe while they figured out what was wrong and how to treat me. I only remember the name of one of the nurses - Charlotte, she and the rest of the staff were my guardian Angles. I wish I could remember everyone else’s names. Thank you all for the fast and kind treatment. You are all amazing!
10 April 2021 21:17
They take great care of you at first! The nurses are friendly and super caring.

Down side.
You get helped right away but will be waiting 5+ hours for your results.
06 April 2021 11:52
Great place there NICU staff are outstanding the security is great minus one member, this one member tired stopping me see the birth of my child over paying for parking.even while telling him what I was doing why I was rushing.still demanded I pay for parking it was a premature birth and he wanted problems after telling I didn’t care if he had towed my car I’m going upstairs a covid screening nurse had stepped in and told him where to go right quick as she was expecting me! I hope this guard never treats another person like this, the hospital as a whole is great well staffed and well prepared for a lot I commend there NICU for my son I’m so happy he’s here today! THANK YOU so much NICU and to all there staff!
30 March 2021 9:13
I went in for an outpatient procedure this week in Unit 11. From the people at reception, the LPN (Tom) who helped me in the unit, the doctor who performed the procedure (Dr. Bennett) and the anesthesiologist, all were friendly, caring and competent. The quality of the care was outstanding. My thanks.
20 March 2021 6:22
I will only go to this hospital due to the fact that I suffer with fibromyalgia, reoccurring cysts, and Chronic Pelvic Pain. They treat you like a human being, which other hospitals in Edmonton treat you like cattle. I have left other hospitals crying because they think you came their for pain management. Um, Yah! If one is in pain and have medical reasons for it. Yes I would appreciate to feel better. And they will do everything to rule out the problem first. Proper blood work, ultrasounds, and everyone is kind there. They will know if you're not in pain, so do not come if there isn't anything wrong, they will not just hand out medication.
19 February 2021 7:52
Was admitted for delivery and postpartum care. Unit 25 was amazing! Always took conerns to heart, showed compassion, empathy, and made sure i was comfortable in expressing my concerns. Once transferred to unit 27 things went downhill.

For starters room was beyond small not appropriate for postpartum by any means let alone i was only mobilized to the wheelchair to get transferred since surgery (was up once before but was hard to move). Once the incubator was brought in to do the light therapy for baby it was even more cramped. There was no room to move or mobilize or try and get some leg exercises in to bring down swelling. Husband was cramped in a corner in that small chair having to climb over the bed to get into it. As the table had to be placed in front of the bed and the patients family on the other side of curtain kept walking into it. There was enough floor space for 1 person to stand and that point.

Secondly nursing staff seemed overworked and understaffed and brought out negativity in said staff. As a new mom with anxeity this did not help by any means especially being told by one nurse not to be anxious as itll make baby anxious (needed help coping with the crying as well as being taught how to swaddle to help the crying) then having the nurse leave the room with no help offered. When pressing the call bell asking for help it seemed like a chore to come in and help me. If i wouldve been taught and had questions answered (especially for a swaddle all i wanted was a step by step a few times and to be watched to get baby comfy and settled) the bell would have been pressed a lot less. No anxeity meds were offered/ordered not sure if a call was made to physician even.

Thirdly found it beyond difficult to get proper teaching by the staff as they always had something else to do. (Wether a swaddle/latch/ or a burp. Yes it seems minimal but i dont know what i was doing and having had surgery, fluid overload in legs, and fused bones which make things different and need to adapt and learn in new ways.) That being said was sent home with no teaching pamphlets (not for swelling/what to look out for with stitches/ what to look out for post op/ etc not sure what else as i dont know maternity)

There also seemed to be no HCA in the stay as i was not offered a shower i had to ask my nurse on day 3 to get supplise to wash myself up (shower in room was hard to use as it wasnt working properly) as i wanted to feel clean. No comfort rounds were done by a HCA/nurse and nurse came in very minimally (unless call bell was pressed and had to give a reason over bell before someone would come in). Had to supply my own water/drinks from family (offered 1 glass of water from day nurse once and only got what came on trays) as well as proper sized diapers.

Nurse did try and discharge home at 0000h after order placed and im sorry but that was unacceptable and shocking considering this was not a ER type setting. Baby didn't even get a bath while i was on the unit (had to ask for bath a few times) as well as teaching for the bath which was squeezed in at about 0100 the night of discharge. Would have been nice to update my visitors so i could have proper mental support but no Unit Manager was brought in for discussion in the manner.

Overall delivery was tramatic enough and the stress of unit 27 was not needed mentally/ emotionally. Would have perferred a private room as they were available (and we were willing to pay) all things considered to have a proper recovery and actual space to move and recover properly. (Swelling did dissapear after seeking outsourced help and advice 3 weeks later). Still strugging with postpartum depression 3 months later.

Did submit a patient relations compliant and no issues were addressed all they did was read over and summarize what was written in the chart. Did get sent to this facility to have bloodwork drawn as i did have post op complications and had a small panic attack from being back in the facility due to how i was treated while admitted on unit 27.

I will never recommend this place for any type of care or treatment.

Went in with chest pains and COVID-19 like symptoms. After 811 directed me to go to this hospital.

I checked in at the emergency. Waited 2 hours before getting seen by anyone. After I was moved into a different room I heard doctors and nurses laughing about this whole pandemic that is happening.

After the fact the doctor came in to my room. Gave me the good new that I was ok it’s most likely the virus making my chest hurt. She remcomened I get tested. I agreed fully. They gave me the COVID test then sent me home.

It is now 1week later and I still didn’t get my results. The rest of my family was tested and quarantined 3 days later and the all had their results within then next day.

I’ve tried calling the hospital. AHS help lines. And 811 and have received no help.

I ended at emergency and recieved an excellent care from everyone. I do not remember their names but I wont forget smiling faces with exceptional quality of service manners.

THANKS A LOT.

Been waiting here 7 hours I’m sure I’ll have to wait more definitely don’t recommend, I came here hours before some people and their injuries where minor compared to mine and they took them in! Smh very disappointed in you Sturgeon!

Like any place, some of the staff is amazing and super nice and some are awful and should not be working in health care.

If I could give half a star I would. Wife had day surgery in the morning. Complications a rose and we had to visit sturgeon hospital ER at 5pm.

My wife had no special attention and sat there for hours with fresh bandages then left unattended once she did get in for a total of over 9 hours. No IV to help hydrate her. Her pain meds were wearing off from her surgery. What a nightmare. I had to call asking if anyone was coming to check on her. I'm not impressed at all with this.

I just want to say, I have been here many more times than I wish I had too, even throughout this pandemic. Every single time I have had to go, the nurses and doctors and imaging techs are incredibly kind and patient and helpful. They must be exhausted and stressed but you would never know it. Here I am today, having a panic attack from the pain, and I got all the help I needed. It's just suck a nice feeling

I had my 1st visit in this hospital and it was amazing. My appendectomy was successful carefully done in just 2 hours never felt any pain on my surgery conducted by Dr. Wasey, GS. Great job!

We have waited hours while people come and go. No they aren’t worse. Hands down the worst hospital. 2nd time coming here and again a complete waste of time.

Went to emerg this evening at 7 pm. And I do understand that hospitals take you on the basis of how urgent you require medical care. I went in due to a possible miscarriage as I was bleeding. And after being there 4 hours, no one came to see us. We were told at 9 by one of the nurses that it would be any minute and that we shouldn’t leave as it would put us at square one and that we should have already been seen by now. I expressed to her that I needed to get my 8 year old home to sleep as he has school tomorrow and she said it would be soon so we continued to wait, by 11 pm still no one came to see us so I rang for a nurse, who opened our room curtain and then said they were busy, mumbled what I’m not sure was Chinese or her own language and walked off. I decided I needed to get my son home, so I started to dress as I wasn’t going to sit around any longer when they could have just given me a requisition for an ultrasound and bloodwork. Then the first nurse who told us it wouldn’t be long walked into our room and acted shocked to see us leaving and asked if we were leaving, when I told her yes because I expressed to her earlier I needed to get my son home, she proceeded to say that’s not how hospitals work and she walked off leaving our room curtain wide open while I was still dressing. Unprofessional. Seems as though the staff weren’t working, rather they were standing around chatting about stuff not pertaining to their jobs.

Really terrible! My dad almost died and they told him to come back when it was less busy! He was very low in oxygen and they told him he would have to wait 4 to 5 hours to get medical help. My mom then took him to Stony Plain emergency where they immediately hooked him up to oxygen, iv, ect. They said legally they have to work on him right away when his oxygen is that low. Sturgeon hospital made an illegal decision. I will be taking legal action. Horrible hospital! To top it off my mom said the nurse was really nice about it, nice doesn't cut it when you deny proper medical care!

Would give no stars if that were an option! Came out of there feeling 10x worse than what I was going in. Dr. Dean shouldn't have his license, he is so unprofessional and cut me open and took scissors and started digging around in the incision, worst pain ever

Had our baby here a few days ago and the delivery part was really excellent care but as soon as we had our baby we were rushed out of the room and sent to the postpartum wing. The care was aweful basically had to beg to get advil or Tylenol and to have my babies vitals checked. The nurses were incredibly rude. The room was shared and super gross. Not cleaned well at all definitely not a clean environment. The bathroom was disgusting. Thank goodness my doctor allowed us to go home early because it was a horrible place to recover after birth.

On August 29th, the EMT's brought me to the Emergency department of the Sturgeon hospital. The nurses and doctor (I'm sorry I don't remember their names) were so patient and thoughtful with me, I honestly felt like the only patient. Of course I wasn't but that's how they made me feel.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to all of those wonderful people who cared for me that night. You make the world a better place!

Awful I wish I could give no stars. My elderly mother was waiting since 630pm. She already was hesitant to get help. We convinced her to stay, saying the doctors will help. When I called around 1030pm, the first nurse seemed nice, then transferred me to another nurse, who put me hold, then the 3rd nurse to answer the phone had the biggest attitude. And gave me no answers except they are really busy and dont know when she will see a doctor. I asked if maybe she could be transferred to a less busy emergency hospital, and the answer was no. There seems to an attitude with the medical staff over there. If you can avoid this hospital as a first choice.
