Sturgeon County Kennels

This a great kennel, run my very nice people! We had our two dogs stay there for two weeks and not only are their rates reasonable but the facility is clean and welcoming. We got a full report on the goings on with our dogs when we picked them up (our dogs argue a little lol) and they were given all the love and attention I would wish for them to have in my absence.

They have taken care of my fur baby Sky for the last 2 months.they've been wonderful care givers. Sky will be coming home soon woo hoo I can't wait

Sturgeon County Kennels was great to me. They accommodated my Maggie with short notice when I needed a place for her to stay when visiting the area. I believe they took great care of my precious baby and gave her special attention. (A staff member was cuddling her when I came to pick her up.) However, my dog didn’t handle being away from me very well and came home with a nervous bowel and really stressed. It was her first time beening kenneled and I think she suffered separation anxiety. However a day back at home and she was back to normal. Each staff member I talked to were kind and caring. They answered all my questions and allowed me to view the kennel prior to leaving my dog. The kennel was clean. I’d definitely use the facility again.

Felt at ease bringing my dog there. They definitely put alot of effort to make the pets stay as good as possible.

Amazing staff, clean facility, secure site, they took excellent care of fire evacuated dogs for the rescue I volunteer at and I’d happily leave my own animals in their care, thanks for being amazing Sturgeon County Kennels!

As first time pet parents (and first time going away since getting our pup) it was a little nerve-wracking to leave our pup with strangers. But the staff here made us feel warm, welcome, and soothed our anxiety about leaving. Murphy absolutely loved his time here, and even slept all the way home. They're knowledgeable about animals and the toys they sell in their shop. We and Murphy will be back again in the future. Thank you for the amazing care you gave him.

Our dog had soo much fun and is super exhausted now. I live how much feed back I got and how they listened and worked with my dogs needs. Even when he lied and said that he doesn't like peanut butter they still found a way to get him to take his meds

Absolutely loved our experience with Sturgeon County Kennels. They took such amazing care of our pup. It was her first time in a kennel since being adopted and the staff at Sturgeon County Kennels were phenomenal with her.

I could not recommend a better place to bring your pups too! I have never had to kennel my dogs ever until last week!
They made my dogs feel at home, lots of treats and attention. They were very good at responding to me with updates and letting me know how my girls were doing.

This was our dog Arthur's first kennel stay. He's timid with people and dogs but the staff were knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. We will definitely use SCK again and would recommend them to friends! I never post reviews so it's a testament to how impressed we were!

Seen an add for dog food on fb and read the ingredients and seein they're local made me make the short drive out. Get there to friendly service, lots of dogs sayin hi, very knowledgeable on the products they carry. I bought a bag of food for our dogs and a come treats. With service like that, seeing the dogs happy, and them makin sure the customer gets what they want I highly recommend them to any pet owner and will definitely be goin back.

It was our first time using Sturgeon County Kennels and we were very happy with everything. The staff was caring and helpful. The kennel was clean and organized, we have nothing but good things to say about our experience.

“We love your dog while you’re away”. That’s certainly the feeling I got when I picked up Winnie. The staff at SCK are great and treat the dogs wonderfully. The next time we need Winnie looked after, we will definitely be bringing her to SCK!

Our dogs just spent the weekend at Sturgeon County Kennels and had a great time. I was a little worried because they can be reactive to other dogs but the staff said they did great and they were well taken care of.

This was our two Rottis first time in the Kennel, they loved it! When texted to ask for pictures, they accommodated a very worried pet Mom and provided not on pictures but a video of them having fun in the yard chasing toys! So happy with how they were cared for and they are exhausted! I can't thank Sturgeon County Kennels enough! They will be back!

It was our first stay and just a single overnight as a test to see how our two fur babies would make out before a longer stay. They were happy to see me but didn’t seem phased that I had left them there on their own. It was great peace of mind and the ladies there are wonderful!

My first experience at Sturgeon County Kennel was so positive! It was our first time using such a facility and the staff were patient and reassuring which helped this very nervous fur baby momma feel comfortable. My two girls did very well and we’ll definitely continue using the kennel for day care and possible boarding in the future. The kennel itself is very clean and organized which speaks volumes about how it is managed.

Our previous kennel closed down and we were in search for a new one. We were able to book our dog in very easily with their convenient online system. The staff was amazing and so friendly. They were able to show me pictures of her stay and went above and beyond to help our very shy girl adjust to the new environment. We will definitely be bringing her back!

New review: just as positive. The boys remembered where they were and were happy to be there. First trip post lockdowns and they didn't seem stressed whatsoever.

I was nervous to try out a new kennel as my boys are both seniors and don't like change. But it was very reassuring to be able to see the facility and walk them back to their kennel and see them happily wandering outside at their leisure.

The attendant who checked them in was very friendly and took down all our details on their feeding, socializing, etc. She was very good with them even though they were anxious being checked in due to all the new noises and smells.

They stayed a total of 6 days and came home perfectly happy and relaxed - they also smelled remarkably tolerable for having just been in a kennel facility for almost a week. We will definitely be taking them back and this time I'll be able to relax knowing they aren't stressed or unhappy.

Jasper had an amazing time during his stay. It really seemed like the staff got to know him and took great care of him. It can be so stressful to leave your pet behind but, I would highly recommend Sturgeon County Kennels!

This kennel is hands down, the best my dog has stayed at. He always comes home healthy, happy and full of energy. Other kennels I have left him at, did not go so well. I will continue to use Sturgeon County Kennels. Their service is excellent!

Very friendly staff who keep the facilities clean. I always trust that my dog will be cared for well while here. They will also send you photos of your dogs while they are staying if requested.

The staff at SCK are genuinely caring. They went above and beyond all expectations to help my fearful rescue dog feel at ease. My dog has her issues but with the care and patience shown by staff she did very well. I could not be more impressed or grateful. Thank you so very much!

I just want to give a huge shout out to Sturgeon County Kennels, they provide excellent delivery service and always have the dog food I need for my 4 fur babies in stock, also a great recommendation from Mark for my one dogs that had been having issues with her ACL after giving her the CBD oil my girl is doing so much better, Thank you Mark and team

Sue and Tiffany are fabulous. You can instantly see their genuine love of animals the instant you walk through the front door with yours. They take video clips and send them to you while your away which is very reassuring. Our little girl just had a blast owing to Sue and Tiffany. Would highly recommend Sturgeon County Kennels to anyone.

Such a great and safe home away from home for our pup! I am able to text/call to check in, get photo/video updates of him playing/hanging out, and they take such good care of him, I know I don't have to worry about him while we're away! Their pricing is very fair, and for how much effort/pride everyone takes in the upkeep and care of the dogs, I promise you won't regret putting your trust in the team at Sturgeon County Kennels! The owner did a great job with my two dog, they like going there She is very nice and informative.

Sue is amazing! She is always happy to see me, always checking to see if I've earned my free box of dog food (which is great because I forget to keep track) and then insists on carrying my two 'big heavy' boxes of frozen dog food out to my car because 'that's customer service'.:)

Our go to for over nights for our fuzzy boy, he absolutely loves it here - he is sad to leave when we pick him up!

I love sending my pups to sturgeon county kennels! They love going there, the staff are so wonderful and care for my babies as if they’re their own <3 it’s such a peace of mind knowing that my babies are cared for so well while I’m away. I am extremely happy with this kennel. The staff are super nice and the facility is very clean and accommodating to dogs who aren’t social. My dog Odin is very timid and has anxiety but the staff took amazing care of him and he did really well! They even will give you updates while you’re away if you want. He didn’t seem stressed or anxious when I picked him up and I can’t wait to be able to bring him back the next time I’m out of town. This is the only kennel I will trust to take care of my dog.

My cats love, love, love the food! Mark is very responsive and will deliver what I need, and always brings samples:) Fantastic service and quality food for great prices!

I don't believe there is a way to write a good enough review of this place. It's AMAZING. There so good with the dogs. I have never had a bad experience or worried about my dogs. ABSOLUTLY will be back!

The boys always get excited to see Sue and are always well cared for and get plenty of social and play time. There is love in this business.

Our dog was very comfortable. She was happy to go back (until she realized I wasn’t staying). Staff are warm and kind. A very clean facility. Great service that I’d recommend to friends.

I am so impressed with this place. They have a genuine love for the dogs. My dogs were instant play buddies with another dog. My one dog has anxiety issues and can be aggressive. Susan did a great job introducing Brutus to other dogs

I can’t even put into words how wonderful this kennel truly is. I was so nervous about our baby staying for a week, but when we went to drop her off they showed us the whole area and how everything works. I was instantly eased. They care so much for your pet and you really couldn’t ask for a better place or better service. Bailey was very nervous the first night and they even helped her transition and let her inside and ensured she was happy. They also keep you updated with texts and pictures so you’re constantly reassured of how well they’re taken care of. Thank you to the staff beyond words, just look how happy she is too! Bailey will definitely be back!

We've been bringing our dogs to SCK for over 10 years - almost since they first opened. The facilities are clean and well maintained and the staff have always been great. Our dogs get excited once we pull into the yard and are happy when we pick them up days later. It's a joy knowing that our pets are well cared for and enjoy their time playing with other dogs. Really impressed at how they have expanded their operations to include treats and quality dog food. Dogs are already looking forward to their next visit.

Left my dogs here for a weekend they haven’t been to a kennel in 2 years and they where amazing (even when I called to check on them a couple times lol) would highly recommend and will be back! They have also started selling raw and pricing is great! Staff is always very friendly and helpful highly recommend!

Wonderful staff and owner. They truly show they love animals and their dedication and gentle nature shows through.
Both times we have had our 3 dogs stay in the kennel, we have come back to happy, happy dogs and also, the prices are very reasonable.
On top of everything already being top notch, the owner gave us a bunch of samples and a bag of dog food to try, free of charge and I wanted to thank you so much for that extra little bit, we appreciated it very much.

Ginger loves going to Sturgeon County Kennels. Sue always treats her with lots of extra attention. They have kennels with access to the outdoors and lots of play areas. The kennels are very clean and well taken care of. I would not want to leave Ginger anywhere else. They really pay attention to each dog and their needs. I highly recommended them.

We love Sturgeon County Kennels. Everyone was awesome, specially Sue. She took great care of our Jorge. This was our first having our fur baby in a kennel while we go for a trip. They provided us updates and sent us pictures and videos on how well our fur baby is doing. When we came back to get Jorge, he was so happy and it was clear that he had the best time in SCK. It was my first time ever using a kennel for a pet. I got to walk through, see the play spaces and get an idea of how a day goes there. The staff was very attentive and really showed me how much they truly care about each and every dog that comes through there. When it came time to pick him up he didn’t want to leave!

A warm and welcome place to have our fur babies stay and we know they are well taken care of. Staff is great, they always make sure we know how things went while we were away. And the price for our two dogs is so reasonable, it helps a lot to know we can afford quality care. We won’t go anywhere else! And treats are always part of the experience. Great place.

Tremendous experience with Sue and the Staff at Sturgeon county Kennels. Our dog is extremely high maintenance, nervous anxious large breed; Sue was able to establish a rapport and make him feel safe within a few minutes. In our 3 visits the site has always been immaculately clean. Plenty of space to run around. Staff sent us text updates to keep us informed while we were away. My dog Junior is a very sweet but troubled dog. German shep/ husky. He requires alot of love and attention. He was attacked a few years back and ever since then it has been quite the struggle to re-train him. I was very hesitant to take him anywhere and I just about lost all hope to rehabiliate him. Yet after viewing the space and meeting these lovely owners and staff, I decided it was time for him to meet them as well. That day I had regained faith in him again and discovered that we just needed that leap. Sue and Sarah are the most trustworthy when it comes to tending to your fur baby. They are all very genuine and welcoming to all. They ensured his comfort and mine from the moment we arrived to the moment we had left. The space is very clean and organized at all times. The pricing is very fair as well! They truly care about their service and the needs all dogs and their owners! I would recommend this place to anyone. Keep up the great work! See you soon!

Just went to pick up dog food and as usual the best experience with Sue. So knowledgeable and kind towards customers and animals. She is fantastic with knowing about the dog foods (and now cat foods) and the hemp products for animal pain.

We do board our dog (Benny) here and he is sad to leave because he gets treated like royalty!

So amazing so know that our dog is being cared for by the best!

They make us feel so comfortable! Our dog has a couple separation issues and will shake and whine if we go in any strange building. He calmed down so quick by our third visit (spaced months apart). The nice lady with short hair is the greatest and I swear he likes her more than me now. Thank you so much for taking care of our baby!

We can’t say Thank You enough to the wonderful team at Sturgeon County Kennels. We recently relocated from Australia. Unfortunately we couldn’t have our girl with us for 62 days so we trusted the team to look after her & we couldn’t have been more happier. Sue does a wonderful job but the care, love & dedication she put into Belle was more than we imagined. She looked after Belle as if she was her own. We visited regularly & had no problems whatsoever. Always greeted at the door with Belle & never felt bad leaving her as we knew she was in good hands. We will continue to use Sue & the team throughout our stay in Canada & recommend anyone who is unsure where to leave your fur baby, this is your place. Thank you once again from your Aussie family. This is a great place to board your dog. They have a clean facility and take great care to make it a comfortable stay for our family members. All of the staff work very hard to keep it nice and Sue does an amazing job.

My dog always comes back healthy, happy and well fed when I send him there. Great place to send your dog.

Extremely disappointed.

We’ve had our dog at SCK three times now, originally went because of great reviews. The last time we dropped him off a new employee he hadn’t met approached him and he got defensive. I was assured not to apologize & that this employee should not have approached the way she did. I picked him up after his stay without any issue.

When attempting to re-book on another occasion I was told there was no place for him, without explanation. After several emails attempting to understand why - I was told he was aggressive towards other dogs and the staff. This is VERY uncharacteristic of him & I’m extremely disappointed that this was not ever shared.

I will not recommend this kennel to others, due to the fact that I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.

We LOVE SCK! We've been taking our dog Hudson here for about 2 years now. He is always so excited to stay; I honestly wouldn't take him to stay anywhere else! The staff are all amazing, the kennels are spacious and it is always absolutely immaculate! If you ever have the chance to bring your dog here, I hope you meet Sue. She truly is the kindest person. It is evident she pours her heart and soul into SCK and goes WAY above and beyond for all of the fur babies, treating each and every one as if they were her own. She does everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in her power to make sure the dogs are comfortable and enjoy their stay. ️ There is no one else on this planet I would trust more to care for our "handsome Hudson" when we are away.
