Really disorganized and overwhelming amount of clothes dropped off. If you want more than $6 for a clothing item, sell it yourself on PoshMark.

I used to really love coming here, found them to be very reasonable for dropping off your clothing to sell to them. However, over the last little while it’s gone down hill. For example, the last time I brought clothing in, I had a bunch of lululemon, only worn a handful of times, purchased within the last year no rips, tears stains etc.
When I dropped my bag off the only employee working was sitting on the chairs near the changing rooms on her phone. It took her some time to get up and come over to help, just to be clear besides her and I there was no one else in store. Asked how long the wait time was and was told no idea. I went to sit in my car out front and noticed that this employee went back to sit in the chairs on her phone instead of sorting through clothes or anything else. A few hours later when I finally got a notification it was sorted i went back. I was surprised to see really great condition lululemon being returned to me. When I asked why it was a pass as its neutral colours nothing wrong with it and in season/style she said she had no clue it was lululemon (even though it has their logo.) She also pulled out a pair of joggers and showed me 2-3 pets hairs on them and said it was a no due to that. Her attitude about it all was extremely rude.
At this point it seems to be very all over the place for what they’re looking for and customer service is lacking. I have begun to see a lot of issues with the clothes they do have there such as broken zippers, stains, holes and the list goes on. I’ll be bringing my business elsewhere in the future.

Just had my first shopping experience here and was blown away! Everything is so clean and nicely organized. I got incredible deals on like-new clothing. This will be my regular, go to store!

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not waste your time coming here. They don’t care about anything you bring in and if they pretend they do, they’ll pay you next to nothing for it.

Completely inefficient and slow staff. They can only process one customer in an hour and a half. When asked approx how long it would take they said they don’t know, and don’t give estimates, but they are “busy doing other things” when there is nobody else in the store. Like other people said, prices have gone up dramatically and they pay pennies for your items. None of their staff have the ability to multi task. Also the selection is garbage. No small sizes and items in poor condition. No idea how that happens because they are picky yet somehow a lot of garbage ends up on the floor

I came in here on a Friday afternoon to drop off some clothes. Usually it’s fine but today lady that I was dealing was very rude, she didn’t smile, didn’t say thank you and seemed annoyed when I asked if she can give me an estimated time of when my clothes would be processed. Her response was “I don’t know, there is one person a head of you and depending on how busy the store is” which is a completely a fine answer but it was her tone of voice which was blatantly rude and she made me felt like she was doing me a huge favor.

If you don’t have a lot of time, I don’t suggest bringing your clothes here. I am writing this as I’m waiting. The store only has one person working who had to take care of the cash register and checking the clothes. Maybe there was another staff was on lunch or at the back but it seems like there was only one person working the front.

The good thing about this store is that it is very clean and organized. Prices are is very decent however the style is a bit outdated and or more mature.

The store is full of Reitmans style clothing. No designer or special occasion pieces. Nothing special just a bunch of Ho Hum used clothing.

They said my freind stole a jewelry worth $5 and they didn't say sorry even know she didn't steal anything

Expensive. Used to have great prices when first opened few years ago. They pay peanuts for your clothes too, and they are picky, in return they pay almost nothing. There are better places to go shopping.

Consistently this store turns away high end items, do not communicate feedback effectively and when they do provide feedback it is vague and not thorough. Once I was told that two full rubbermaid bins of high end clean clothing was too small for their store. They were womens XS and small Lulu lemon, Aritzia and many other brand name items. The most recent we were told there was a ‘smell’. We do not cook with aromatics, clothing was stored in a rubbermaid, we do not use scented candles in our home, and many of the items came out of my daughters drawers freshly laundered. Save yourself the time and consign elsewhere.

If you are looking for top quality consignment items without the high prices? Definitely go here. I was actually blown away by how many brand names items they had at this store and quality as well. Plus it’s nice and close to home.

A tidy shop, easy to find what you want, and cheerful service. You can always find designer handbags, shoes and leather jackets for cheap. Their Instagram is awesome too.

I've been turned down at this location twice now. The first time I came in, I was told that large bags were not permitted and that I needed to bring a bin. Understandable. The second time I came in, it was nearly two hours before closing time, and and the cashier clearly irritated says “we’re done for the day”. If you have these rules regarding cut-off times, make them known on your website so people don't waste time driving back and forth. I've finally given up and will use Facebook Marketplace or another consignment store.

This is a terrible place to sell or buy. I drove 1 hour 1/2 to sell my name brand clothes here. Web site clearly states they buy on the spot and high end name brand items. They told me they would sort through my things and text me before the end of the day. Clearly I am not waiting in Calgary all day. I looked around the store and mostly saw low end clothes from Walmart and old navy. I literally feel scammed. I would never recommend or shop here I only hit 1 star because I had to. Zero stars for this place

Have been bringing in the same bins every time to sell and was told today that it was a health issue for the staff due to the size. They asked me to bring them back in another bin on the spot when it was never an issue before. Don't know why they didn't tell me last time before so I could correct it for the next visit. Only did they offer to take one bin after I asked for them to try to accommodate due to the circumstance of only being told same day and not before. Decided to sell elsewhere because of the abruptness and rudeness from the tall sales lady with long brown hair. Other sales lady (blond with short hair) was super nice and genuinely apologetic. I didn't catch her name but hope she corrects her demeanour because it came off badly. Sad because I used to enjoy selling here.

Terrible experience. Not worth of your time. Toss some good karma into the universe and donate your items to Women in Needs, Good Will or Salvation Army (these are non-profit organizations. Don't donate to Value Village, because Value Village is a FOR PROFIT organization, yeap, Value Village make profit on your "good will").

This store Style Encore.
- The owner Denise has got a very negative attitude, dealing with her is a pain, like she is doing you a favour. Not only is she unfriendly, she is condescending and patronizing
- Brought in a couple bags of cloth, Denise looked at each item for a couple of seconds and threw them back into a bag. I came in with everything nicely folded, and they were returned to me in a mess, nothing was folded, just tossed them in the bag
- They said they do not take bags an hour before closing, so I went in an hour before closing. Still they refused to look at the items, because they already got "too many items to go through" for that day (well how am I suppose to know who will come in before me and how many bags they will bring in?) So I drove all the way over for nothing
- After ALL of these, negative attitudes from staff and inconvenience, I got about $11.

Not worth of your time and headache.

My husband has taken clothes for me a few times now and the women working have been friendly and have bought a number of items from me each time. I'm looking forward to selling more stuff and also shopping there myself soon. I think what they offer when they buy is fair and also worth it for me not having to do all the work of selling online but still being able to get paid for my items. It's a win/win, they get a deal and then pass the savings on to you as their prices are extremely reasonable which I think is the point:)

I had a bad experience at this store. I brought in 2 big bags full of clothes that are barely worn or brand new with tags, but the girl working there barely looked at my clothes just told me my clothes are missing parts /stained or older. It was such a waste of time and gas to drive there! Save yourself a trip!

The store is clean and the staff is friendly. There's really no rhyme or reason to what they'll accept if you're looking to sell. I've brought in brand name items in new condition and they've been denied meanwhile there's shirts on the rack with snags in them. Perhaps they could do a better job of communicating what items they're looking for as this seems to be a common complaint based on the reviews.

I've been here three times now, and am always happy with their selection and friendliness! They usually have a rewards or great sale event going on too!

I consigned a couple items today for the first time, and it was an easy and straightforward process. I see some negative reviews regarding their selection process, but they are clearly only going to buy items that are very gently used or new, and are currently on trend. I appreciate their selection process because it means the store will be filled with great on trend items for their shoppers! Highly recommend!

I have been here several times and have never had an issue! All the staff members are wonderful, except a lady named lily (?) I am not 100% sure of her name, but she was extremely rude. I brought in a bag of clothes that was filled with my mother and mother in-law’s clothing (great brands, barely worn). There was lulu lemon, aritzia, gap, etc in the bag. Before she even looked in the bag, she looked at me and said “you know this store is for 25+? ” I said yes and then proceeded to look around the store. I watched her and she moved the bag to the table and picked up one article of clothing and then called me over and said she is not taking anything. She had overwhelming disrespect for customers and it astonished me that she was that rude. Will never be selling to them or buying from them again.

I put a pair of shoes on hold that I saw on Instagram. There was a bit of a red flag even then because the post said to just DM them and they would put them on hold. The response I received was that they open at 11am. I had clarify if the shoes would be on hold (I do not live anywhere near this store). When I walked in, the owner made direct eye contact and said nothing.
It was very quiet inside. Any noise a person made seemed amplified. It was not a pleasant atmosphere. Finally a nice salesperson did ask if I needed help (there was only one other customer in the store). The store is nice and clean and they have quality inventory. I am glad I did go as I found another store nearby that I didn't know existed. I might go back to Style Encore Calgary South again but not anytime soon.

Thank you to the team at Style Encore for always creating a positive selling and shopping experience! You take the time to explain your buying process and are always up front and very HONEST! I understand that you can't take all of our items as you have to follow the store guidelines and that is totally acceptable - at the end of the day it is a business!

Will never go here again. Don't like being lied to. Been here a few times. Then took some things in the sell. Was told no which is not the issue. THE ISSUE IS I WAS LIED TO. THEY DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE CLOTHES INSTEAD CHOSE TO SAY TO SAY OH WE DON'T WANT THEM. THEY WEREN'T EVEN LOOKED AT. THEY were packed exactly how we originally put in the bag and when they were picked up were in the tote EXACTLY HOW WE LEFT THEM. Was lied to. Wanted to keep supporting a local business for sure not this one. Really sad management really needs to learn how to to run a business. Thus isn't going to last

My first experience both purchasing and selling was good even they didn’t buy all my stuff (it make sense, because they buy what they can sell for sure). I will definitely be back to sell and purchase!

Went in today to sell items. What an AMAZING experience! Staff were polite, they were quick and efficient, and they paid top dollar for my items. I took a look around while I waited, and all of the items were in great condition, and the store was organized and clean. I will be back as soon as possible to sell again, and buy! Highly recommend Style Encore!

I truly thought this store would be fantastic when they first opened. They had great selection and the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. Little did I know, this would not last. Myself and many friends have taken in brand name items in which they did not accept. Knowing that it is up to them what they accept, I went through the racks only to find clothes with holes, rips, pet hair and from undesirable stores.

The last time I was in, I over heard someone also expressing their concerns and the unprofessional I witnessed from the owner was absurd.

There are many amazing consignment stores in this city, and I would highly recommend that everyone choose to shop at and sell to those ones.

This store is is really nice. But it’s definitely for middle aged women looking for business wear. They had a tiny rack of athletic wear and it was in 2 different spots which I found very hard to find anything. They also don’t have signage so you can’t tell where anything really is. They really need to notice labels as there were a lot of really older styles and labels thru out the store. I found a few good items but won’t return as it’s not my style mostly. I went grand opening and didn’t get to enter into the draw as no one informed me of how to enter. I wasn’t the only one who was asking we even asked the change room girl. She had no clue what was even going on. All staff should know what is happening in the store especially grand opening. I spent over $100 and the cashier didn’t even ask if I wanted to sign up for my points. Disappointed but won’t be returning anyways
