It was time to upgrade my old car and I can say this is such an upgrade. As soon as I seen this online we went to the dealership the next day. The sales guy Vadim took us for a test drive in a red loaded Impreza and I loved it. Once back he asked me what I liked about the Impreza and without missing a beat I said I liked any that one and pointed behind me. The deal was done quickly. All the staff were polite and quick even though it was such a busy day. I felt that we were in great hands. Vadim was a great sales guy. If you are looking for a new vehicle make sure to go see him at Subaru City!

Went in to see what my current vehicle was valued as a trade in and spoke with a salesman named Carlos. Very friendly and not pushy at all. They offered me 2000 more than the Chevy dealer I had went to previously. Though I ended up putting a factory order in rather than trading. Overall really happy with my experience there.

These guys are geat! Doug, Matt and Lori all helped make the buying experience perfect. Got the vehicle I wanted (had to wait a while as they brought one in for me), and no surprises in the sales office. Vehicle was cleaned, gased up and ready to go, and they take you though every feature before you head out. The best buying experience I’ve had yet. This is the first Subaru I have owned (2022 outback wilderness) and it is outstanding (just under 800km on the first tank). Fit and finish is great, haven’t found any flaws yet. Amazing dealership especially these days with all the supply chain issues - communication while waiting for the vehicle to ship was excellent, and again no surprises with pricing at the end. PERFECT!

I've visited numerous times, mostly to the Parts department in hopes to finally have a good experience but I think I'm done with Subaru City and I'll be taking my business to Rally Subaru. My first time, a man in Parts was incredibly unwelcoming, very rude, and overall super unhelpful when inquiring about a few parts for my Impreza. During that same visit, a woman from the Service department was standing and staring at me for an uncomfortably long time while I was waiting at Parts, and when I asked her why she was staring, she asks me what I'm doing when I was doing was standing patiently. Very offputting experience to say the least! Another time, I opted to call Parts instead of coming inside as I was not comfortable with coming in again, and the lady on the phone to whom I inquired about a part as a gift, was not at all pleased that I didn't have the VIN of the vehicle, as I previously mentioned is not mine as it is a gift, and was very stern and did not speak with any kindness whatsoever. I understand if the VIN is needed but it would be nice to be spoken to with some kindness. I don't know why the Parts department doesn't like me, and why the lady in Service decided to just stare at me, but regardless I have had a good experience with the Receptionist (very kind lady) and this one man in Parts, didn't catch his name but he is very tall with glasses, who gave me a funny tutorial on how to use my Paint Pen which he called a rocket. Thanks, but no thanks, for the experience, Subaru City. My family and I are proud Subaru owners, but we will most certainly not be back.

Edit because if you thought they deserved a second chance, they screwed that one up too.

My parents went in for a part on their Subaru Baja (against my advice to go to Rally Subaru!) They were told to wait for the part to come in (it was being ordered in), but waiting wasn't the problem. When they came in to get it, the wrong part was ordered. My dad was very thorough in explaining what he needed ordered, he knows exactly what he needs. So then they got the actual part ordered and had to wait again (with express shipping). Lo and behold, after waiting a few more days, they let us know that the part isn't even made anymore. It cannot be ordered from a dealership, it is only available aftermarket. So.you're telling me that my parents waited this whole time.basically 2 weeks.for.a part that's not even available. And no one saw that the first time? I didn't know the system allows you to order things that aren't even available?

This parts department is a joke. We've given this place too many chances and not ONE of them was remotely decent. If this doesn't convince you to go elsewhere, then you better be ready for disappointment and disrespect when you walk in these doors!

June 2022 Update:
Subaru City has just completed our second warranty repair. I dropped off our car at 8 a.m. And I was back in my car by 2: 30. Service was completed 2 hours ahead of the given estimated time and I was informed during the day as to the job status. This is a great service center staffed with associates who put in the effort to ensure your experience is as pleasant as can be.

Sales team is great, but Subaru (the Brand, not the dealer) doesn’t like to cover Services that would be considered complementary at other brands (ECM programming updates to faulty programming). Why should the customers have to pay to fix faulty programming? Program updates should be covered by Subaru and included in services. I would also like the dealer to review their service prices, and maybe offer packages for service.

Jonathan in service was above and beyond. Very friendly and helpful also kept me updated throughout the day on the status log my vehicle. Before completing any work they explained the recommendation and gave a cost. Jonathan has amazing people skills and was great to communicate with. I will definitely be returning for service and will be asking for him to be the one looking after me.

$400 dollars to change a block heater cord, this just proves why I avoid getting my maintenance done at a dealership. They wouldn’t just sell me the cord, I had to pay for the block heater kit ($270) now I have new spare block heater sitting on my passenger seat (smh) cause my old block heater is working fine. Than I was billed $130 to replace the cord, I am giving Subaru city 2 stars cause at least its working but I can’t help but feel ripped off.

I took my car there to be fixed. After they fixed my fly wheel on my car they decided to do a compression test and found out I have a couple dead cylinders. AFTER THEY REPLACED that part ($4,500). Then I told them to put it all back together and kick it out the door due to being expensive to go any further.
They DID NOT PUT ANYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND DID NOT TELL ME! They literally put parts/bolts in my back of my car. And I have no clue if I even have all my parts. I will NOT be going back there. You have lost all my business. You guys costed me even more money.

Of the experiences I've had in car dealerships, the one I had at Subaru City was special and will always stand out. My partner and I were treated like valuable clients rather than just a set of numbers on a page. Everyone from our amazing salesman Carlos to the entire finance department went out of their way to make our experience better, and by the time we drove our new car away we felt happy and excited for the purchase we'd just made. Hands down an amazing experience, and a dealer that we'd happily recommend to anyone.

Full disclosure: I know the general manager. That said, the entire staff are helpful and cheerful. The premises is well thought out and the customer lounge (for people.waiting for their cars) is very comfortable with large TV, coffee, and bottled.water.

What I like best about this place is that there are no high pressure sales tactics at this dealership. The sales people are around but give you your space while you kick the tires.

Second review: Took my Outback in for a major service. Had to make arrangements beforehand but the dealership provided me with a loaner. Once I returned, the service advisor went over the entire bill and answered any questions I may have had. Very professional service.

If you're looking for a Subaru in Edmonton and area, this is where I'd go.

Got my winter tires put on, also my windows were reset as they were malfunctioning and my molding was fixed on my driver side door. I love my Outback. Bonus was having Doug help me figure out maps on my screen and then all these shortcuts that I has no idea. He improved the sound of my radio by adjusting the base. He moved some icons I never use to another screen. When I got to my car, I noticed that they cleaned inside including my leather seats, left me a bottle of water and my car was cleaned. What an amazing service. High praise for Subaru. Thank you Bill for your wonderful salesmanship in helping me buy my Outback and also to Doug who answered so many questions about my screen, map, shortcuts. He did not have to help us but he willingly did and he was so enthusiastic. Best.

Subaru City was amazing when my car got broken into. I was leaving the city and had to leave my car there until my new window showed up. They made sure it was covered and brought it inside overnight and on the weekend to make sure it was safe. Not only did they order the window on the spot but they were done the day of its arrival and before I was back in the city. Their later hours for pick up worked perfectly and I was able to have my car before work the next morning. Seriously above and beyond. Thank you!

Friendly staff, will listen to your needs and recommend you vehicles and trim to suit. They do not push you to buy a vehicle outside your budget, in fact they will recommend within your budget or lower. I will definitely return for any future vehicle needs.

Have been to this Subaru location 3 times in the last two months for warranty work on my Forester. The dealership is very nice and clean. Lots of staff there who politely ask if we have been helped and then allow us to just sit or look around while we wait, without feeling like we should be shopping for a vehicle. Mechanic and parts staff have been very helpful and do quick work! Would recommend this dealership if you are looking for a Subie!

Took my Subaru for warranty service a few months ago. I did not purchase from them but they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. On-top of a time sensitive schedule and the requirement of a vehicle, they didn't hold back any inclination to help. Where as the Southside Subaru just told me they couldn't help me even despite explaining the severity of the situation and the recent loss in my mother.

Went in for just an oil change and was greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful service writer that not only got me in for my oil change super fast, but also inquired about other issues and expressed genuine concern over what I had to say. My warranty has been up for a while, but I still bring my car here because of the excellent service.

They have a couple of new faces there but they look to be great additions. My Forester has 280000KM or more, this is the only place I have ever had it serviced. Just finished off purchasing our 2019 Limited Forester from Ashton; was a great experience all around! We were very indecisive and everyone there was very patient with us and took us on multiple test drives over various trips into the dealership. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, never felt too pressured and always answered our endless questions or got back to us very quickly with the answers if they didn't know them right away. Ashton was great and so was Paula in the finance office. Very organized and accommodating off our schedules. Highly recommend.

Furious with the Service Department. Not even 1 star, try -10. They replaced the timing belt in our Forester incorrectly (found out to be 35 degrees off). Over the course of a few months, an oil blockage grew bigger and bigger, from the timing being off, which resulted in complete Turbo failure. $4000 in repair bills. Argued the incorrect installation of Timing Belt, 35 degrees off timing, caused oil flow issues, resulting in turbo failure. They argue bad oil as the cause of the timing and the failed turbo. Even though it was noted on the invoice the timing belt was off by 35 degrees, nothing was done to fix. Apparently the 35 degrees off was the result of bad oil. Not sure how bad oil would cause this, especially when they're the ones putting it in! @#$

We visited 20 different dealerships before buying our new SUV. Very accommodating staff that never rushed us or pushed us. A shout out to Rio Foster. He helped us find just the right one! We got the last 2018 Forester XT turbo! Boxer engine. We absolutely love this beautiful new ride! All the bells and whistles and Creature Comforts! I service my 2014 Impreza at Subaru City whenever the time for maintenance arises. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

This time around I did not have an appointment and they were able to fit me in and complete the oil change and maintenance within the hour.

I recommend Subaru city to my friends.

After very very bad experiences wit Toyota Kingsway Edmonton 9 years ago we were scared to buy new car with some dealer. But thanks to Teresa from Subaru City in Edmonton we have again lovely experiences. She is very helpful person and she understand what costumers has in his head when he is not sure how to ask, when he doesn't trust too much. She is friendly, professional, not like some car dealers {they are sometimes like smallpox or chill around you}, they do not respect yours view, yours dream. They just push you to corner. Teresa was foe us partner in trade. And many dealers should learn from her. Thank you again Teresa!

Amazing experience at this Subaru City. The sales person that helped me Mr. Greg Harrison exceded every expectaion I had. Greg was vey helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with every decsion made and that I knew every option available. Greg even deliverd the car to my home on his day off to make sure I was taken care of. The bussinesss manager Lori Blatz was also very helpful and made everything clear about the purchase. Everyone I met at this location were very nice and helpful. I highly recommend buying a car from this dealer you will be very well taken care of.

This place will never again get my business. I began complaining about oil consumption on my 2011 Forester late 2016. I was told again and again that it was normal. I've owned old cars my whole life, this was the first car that I bought new and brought it in religiously for its maintenance. I did not go through the amount of oil with my old cars that I was with my Forester. After a year of logging my oil consumption and arguing with Rob at the service counter I recieved a letter from Subaru Canada. The letter explained that this model was experiencing oil consumption problems and that I may need a new engine. I called Rob and he told me that my car didn't qualify. I called Subaru Canada and indeed I did qualify which is why I recieved the letter. I booked my car in so I could begin tracking my oil consumption for this warranty work. I was then told that my cam caps were leaking and that I needed to repair them before they could log the oil consumption for this warranty work. This repair would cost me nearly$3000. I park my car in my garage daily and have zero traces of oil on the concrete. I had several people look at the engine and they all agreed that while there was sweat there was not a leak. I then took my car to Rally Subaru. They did a dye test and confirmed that there was no leak. They then helped me with setting up a baseline so I could begin an official oil log for the warranty work. I'm now happy to report that with the help of Subaru Canada and Michelle at Rally Subaru, I now have a new engine. But I felt it was necessary to tell my tale of the crappy service I got from Subaru City and more precisely Rob at the service counter. While I understand that he simply relays the information from his shop guys it is my opinion that given I was a loyal customer that he should have advocated on my behalf and went further with this. Had I not pushed back I would have spent three grand needlessly. I will never again take my business to them. My next Subaru will be purchased at Rally.
