This is my favourite dog park as it’s so bad a long walk yourself while your dog along, having the best time with other dogs. You can also go by the river, which is a nice touch.it can get muddy during certain times due to the weather but otherwise it’s really an amazing place
This is a great time for your doggo. Unfortunately, some dog owners appear to be fine with their animals dropping a load and leaving it. This is not a good idea. Help stop he spread of canine illness. Clean up after your dog and make it better for everyone.
Ozzie loves to play with other dogs. The wide open spaces give him lots of opportunity to run and play. Wish the city had more fenced dog parks like this !
Every single time I have been to this park, including this time, there has been a situation with an overly aggressive dog and an oblivious owner. We are at dog parks several times a week & we have only had this situation at Higgins. This was our last trip here.
One of our favorite dog parks for sure. I’ve ran into a few celebrities here! Our dog Douglas says this is his favorite dog park in the city because it has so many options to choose from (the river, the wooded area, the open plains, the moguls, etc).
Love this park. The best open space in Calgary 100% right by the river for dogs to play in and a huge field with trees, hills, and different paths to explore for hours!
Great dog park! It’s all fenced in and still you can walk for an hour, or so! My dog loves it, meets new friends all the time and the walk by the river is great during the summer. She runs down every so often to get some water and then there’s a bit of a beach area to go for a swim and cool down.
This is a wonderful place to walk your dogs especially when you have 2 labs one loves to fetch and the other one likes to hunt mice, she usually finds one to.
Great large dog park, fully fenced with multiple water accesses. Some areas that cross bike pathways cause congested areas as the park is extremely busy at all times of the week and hours of the day. Parking is always available you may just have to wait for it.
Awesome place to let the dogs play off leash. Then leash them up and walk the trails into another beautiful pathway amongst the trees and the beauty of the area
Best to go during non peak hours, some people have zero control of their dog. Only dogs with a solid recall should visit off leash parks. Just because your dog (s) are friendly doesn't give them any right to bombard other dogs at the park if the other dogs owner says no.
Love that there’s so many parts to this park. A large off leash area to walk with the dogs, river access for the dogs to swim in, as well as a small fenced off area within the large fenced off area that gives us the opportunity to do some dog training with our dogs or for smaller dogs to play with each other!
Love this park and so does Duchess! It’s huge and has lots of river access points for the pups to swim. There are even small fenced off areas with picnic tables to have some lunch and zones for the small dogs who need their own space. There is a large parking lot right off of Southland drive or you can park at Carburn park and walk across the river. There is usually a breeze because it’s right a long the highway but it still gets pretty hot in the summer so make sure to bring a hat!
My family loved this place. The only thing was the smell at the entrance was terrible. I guess it is expected because it's a dog park as well. I wish some steps were taken to control the foul smell.
Took the pup here for the first time today specifically for the smaller fenced area so he wouldn't be overwhelmed in the open areas.
He loved it and so did we and now we have a very tired pup. Lots of parking when we went and everyone we met was super friendly and handling their dogs well.
This is the dog park of all dog parks! Not only are the trails beautiful and lovely to walk there are 3 separate areas for dogs to go swimming! My dogs absolutely love it and once they're in the water to I can't get them out! My dogs love to go for a swim and then run off all their wetness on the trails back to the parking lot. Absolutely LOVE this place!
One of the best off leash dog park in Calgary. Unfortunately too many people don't pick up after their dogs so watch your step folks. It's fenced but still you got to be watchful as it's very close to the Deerfoot Trail.
Huge variety of space including 3 access points to the river - a couple of smaller training areas are fenced off. Bizarre landscaping which includes dozen of stunted trees planted within 30 centimetres of each other -
This is an off leash dog park. Unfortunately too many people don't pick up after their dogs. Watch where you step. It's a nice park so that was a real disappointment
Great dog park, huge, walking paths everywhere and it's pretty clean, most of the humans are good about picking up after their 4-legged friends. There is a separate fenced area for dogs who may not like all other sofa so they can be off leash as well and there is easy access to the river for swimming.
Great dog park here! Nice river in the park and there's even a nice bridge! Wow and you can even bike/run/walk/rollerblade/skate etc all the way to the zoo if you want to (eeep but it's over 25 km one way, mind you). Super neat!
Anyone with a puppy or dog.will love this place. My Wiggle butt is always happy to play with the other dogs at the park. It's a huge place, and different areas where you can take your 4 legged pal. Highly recommend for your furry best buddy!
A little slice of nature along Deerfoot Trail! This dog park is conveniently located with lots of trails and access to the river, which the dogs love. What a great place. Glad it wasnt turned into a golf course, like it almost was. It makes both dogs and their pet parents happy!
Love the size of this park & that's its all fenced in! The parking lot size is a HUGE ISSUE & the city needs to deal with it. On weekends ppl are forced to park on the road & then ticketed for it!
Huge park to let your dog's explore. Run free or on leash, they can run through open areas, visit the river or visit with all the other dogs. Great area!
Always a great time had by all the dogs & many of the owners in this off leash park! This is a HUGE park so if you or your dog are anxious with the crowd you can easily sneak off to your own corner & work on commands or just have some fun play time!
Off leash huge dog park, have a lot of trails and also a river for the dogs to cool down during those hot days. Going there for a while now always good experience, dogs guardians are close to them, dogs are friendly after about 2. Years of going there I had never seeing or known about a dog fight nor attack. Make sure you bring poop bags (pick up after your dog) water (there is a lot to walk, no chairs, no bench you can seat on the ground bif you like too) and certain days at the entrance of the park there is a mobile store. They put fresh clean water for the dogs and sell snacks for dogs and humans.
This dog park is amazing! The whole place is a huge fenced off area for the dogs to run around in, plus it attaches to a slow spot on the river where they can hop in for a cool down. The only downside was that it was super busy, the park didn’t feel crowded at all, but the limited parking could easily be seen as an issue. Overall, if you don’t mind doing a few circles to wait for a parking spot on a busy day then it is so worth the wait for the amount of time you can spend there, even if you just want to walk a loop.
Such a fantastic dog park, lots of offleash areas, special enclosed areas for specialized training, doggo moguls, nice walking paths and river access to take your pupper for a dip!
