What a great spot, the food was absolutely amazing. The cocktails also very tasty. Jasmin our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Will return and highly recommend!

This was an amazing restaurant. Service was fast and friendly. Our server made great food and drink recommendations. We had the fish tacos and steak sandwich. The view of the lake for our booth was amazing too. Kid friendly, we had our son in a car seat and they had no problem finding a booth for us. Will be back!

Fantastic food. Best pizza I have had in town. Been several times trying different items and food as been outstanding. Highly recommend.

Came to this restaurant, asked the hostess if we could sit at a booth as a person in our party of 3 has hearing trouble and a booth blocks the background sounds. The hostess said "as you can see, we don't have a booth available" with a dirty glare and a rude attitude. We have never been to the restaurant before, we don't know how many booths you have or how many are taken. It was very rude from the beginning. The rest of the staff can barely smile, clean, or give you the bare basic service. It was the worst service I've ever experienced. The only good part was the food, half decent. Would never recommend this place because of the rude, inconsiderate, and ignorant staff. They should all be put through customer service training. Every staff member who "served" us was rude, I've never seen such poor service before. Don't come here.

In our visit in Sylvan today, we enjoyed the cozy place and delicious tacos, bwill sure come back day trip from Edmonton

We had really great service and food at Sun of a Beach yesterday! Our server Mataya was great! The pizza was the stand out dish so would recommend getting that!

I heard awesome things about this place and have been wanting to try it for about a year now. I was quite disappointed. We got our appetizer before our drinks which was strange but we just accepted it. Bruschetta was great! Once we got our drinks they were pretty good too. Once we got our food we were disappointed. I asked for a medium rare steak sandwich and got a raw piece of meat on bread with fries. I sent it back and got a soaked piece of bread with my steak cooked overdone. The bread was like the consistency of a wet sponge. Avoid the steak if you can. However my boyfriend had the fish tacos and said they were good. Wouldn’t go back.

They're outdoor three-tier deck is amazing overlooks the lake and their top tier has a fire pits on it and it's so cozy and amazing and of course the food is delicious

Great place, great food, great selection of drinks, great interior! If you want to feel like you are in Mexico, you can simply go there and sit on the roof top. Their drinks have unique names and their food is very creatively presented.

I eat here as much as I can, food is always amazing and the atmosphere is liking being at the tropics, the open windows and slight breeze are really refreshing. Oh yeah, the deck upstairs gives such a great view of the beach

Party of 18 people with twin toddlers on a Saturday night last summer July 2022.
Started out a little rocky as they can’t seem to find my bookings which I did online and confirmed over the phones a week before arriving as we were a big group.

But after that craziness….

We had an amazing experience, staff we’re very friendly, the food was delicious.
The manager and staff prepared a rooftop spot for us as requested weeks prior.
Its beautiful rooftop overlooking Sylvan lake.

We got hit by a thunderstorm mid dinner and our servers helped moved our food & drinks & prepared a table for us inside.

This place is a gem and will definitely go back!

We definitely enjoyed this restaurant all the food and drinks were excellent! Was a bit of a wait for seating and then to order but I think it was worth it, we were a bit bummed the patio was closed as well.

The food is unreal. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. It was our first time there and we will be back. I was completely blown away with our meal. 10 stars!

This is an amazing restaurant experience. The chef is incredible. Haven eaten here many times and have NEVER been disappointed.

During a day trip to Sylvan Lake we ventured into this restaurant. It was clean, the staff were friendly, the portions were excellent and the food was very good. The drink selection featured local beer and seems to have something for everyone. Will absolutely visit again in the summer when the patio is open.

My fiancé and I wanted to stop in sylvan, after we had to pick up her wedding dress from red deer. After walking around we decided to stop here for a late lunch. Once we got there we were greeted and everything seemed good. The waitress that seated us asked if we wanted the window open, and we said yes. The people behind us had an issue with it and asked a different waitress to see if she could close it. She then asked us if we were okay closing the window - we asked not to close it completely. The second waitress then returned to the other table and began snickering and quietly whispering about the window ordeal to the other customers. At which point I hear they were just going to ask us to completely close the window in a bit. Really unprofessional behaviour. So we just got up and left, Fireside up the road took really good care of us - had a fantastic meal and we’re treated like gold. I would take the extra little walk to dine elsewhere.

Sun of a Beach is a bright-colored restaurant on the most desired beach front walkway in Sylvan Lake. The environment is very clean and well taken care of. The men's washroom is one of the few clean and actually good-looking men's washrooms I've seen.

We ordered the Salmon Mousseline. The presentation had pop and the vegetables were tender. The truffle butter mashed potatoes were silky smooth and everything overall had excellent texture/coloring. Unfortunately for this dish, it either completely lacked the hollandaise sauce, or was walking the line of being non-existant.

For dessert we decided on the Chocolate Fudge Bar. We were disappointed by the dessert menu options by there only being two to decide from. This dessert however, had a rubbery consistency and was salted beyond anything barrable and it was for these reasons that we opted not to finish the dessert.

Sun of a Beach is a high $$'s rated restaurant and unfortunately we both caught very upset stomach's after consuming identical meals and drinks.

A friend and I went for lunch and I had the SOB burger without the bun and it was absolutely delicious. She had the beet salad which she also thought was delicious. Service was great - atmosphere was awesome. Highly recommend

Had French onion soup and the bread was literally as hard as a rock, waitress didn’t offer a solution.this place used to be so good, what happened?

The best Eggs Bennie I have ever had! A nice restaurant beach front and would probably be an awesome night bar!

Excellent service and food. Waitress Kelly took the time to let my daughter choose her favorite picture out of a book to color. Affordable yet kinda fancy. Definitely reccomend and cool location.

My lunch was amazing! The spicy chicken tacos were delicious. Service was great and the restaurant was SO CLEAN. Definitely a gem in Sylvan Lake!

Wish I could comment on the food at the place it all looked great as they brought it to the tables around us but unfortunately we sat there for over 10 minutes after being seating still waiting for someone to ask if we'd like a drink let alone the food we had intended to order there was 4 tables and 3 staff standing around doing nothing so we left and went down the road to "The Big Moo" and got excellent service and food highly recommend the big moo

Our visit here is one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences we've had anywhere! It felt like we were on a tropical vacation. We visited on a very busy hot day and ended up staying for over 2 hours for the drinks and atmosphere. The space and atmosphere is stunning.
Giang the Manager was very friendly and attentive.

The music, decor & ambiance is unmatched and undoubtedly of a very passionate Owner because it shows in every detail of this exceptional restaurant. The service staff was outstanding (Harley), extremely prompt and the friendliest gals we've seen in hospitality.

The dining area and bathroom were visibly very clean which is always a good sign of a good establishment.

Prices suit the food, everything is fresh and plated so nice and matches the concept of the Restaurant.

Our table had a bit of everything to share, the food quality was remarkable. Such a nice change for a tourist town. The drinks were as delicious as they looked.
This is a rare find and Sylvan Lake has definitely stepped up their hospitality game with Sun of a Beach.
Highly recommend this restaurant, overall experience is off the charts and we cannot wait to come back.

Great ambience. It has the sun-of-a-beachy feel. Washroom is neat and clean. Foodwise, tasty, great proportion at a reasonable price.

Food was excellent and the decor is very nice. The "roof top" patio is very nice as well.

Horrible service. Hostesses were very nice but once we sat down we waited over 15 minutes just to get water. It was no where near busy yet the server took forever to get our orders & drinks. When I would look back to see where the server was they were all hanging out beside the bar. & when our food finally arrived it was served by multiple people, it seemed like they were more concerned with hanging out with one another than doing an exceptional job. For almost 20$ per meal I expect to at least have a decent time. We asked for more drinks & ketchup/vinegar for our meal and we never got them. Wouldn’t recommend, was expensive and a waste of money & time. I would’ve gotten better food & service at earls for a more decent price.

We visited a few times this summer and every visit was absolutely wonderful.
The atmosphere is clean, lively, the music and ambiance is like nothing we've ever experienced anywhere.
We felt like we were on a, tropical vacation.

Drinks are Instagram worthy and very good, we tried every signature cocktail.
The food quality is well worth the menu prices. I see other reviewers complaining of being overpriced, but even fast food prices these days are very high. It costs to eat out and have an entire group of people take care of you.
We are foodies and have eaten all over, this restaurant is not overpriced for the use of their fresh ingredients, portions, options and presentation you receive.

This is a restaurant where quality meets service and whoever came up with the experience concept needs to open one up in Canmore please!
We know where we're going now every time we come to Sylvan Lake for our getaway. And will continue to come.

Service is a bit slow, but if you're a 20-sumthin' lookin for the "Big Fish", this is the place. If you're 40-sumthin' like me, it's good for a couple of beers, remembering what it's like to be young, and a walk along the beach.

What a beautiful little restaurant! I was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous decor, fantastic food, and courteous staff. I recommend the tacos. I will definitely return.

The ambiance was absolutely amazing and original.
We sat upstairs on the balcony and it was such a relaxing feeling and good vibes.

Food was good portions & service was amazing.
Had the lavender mojito and loved it had the chicken tacos which tasted exquisite, and was just what i was craving.
The bruschetta is an absolute must try.

Nice change to the usual Lakeshore assortment. Definitely felt like I was on vacation between the music, food and drinks. An easy choice for date night or supper out with the family.

Their burgers are great, the fries decent and the tacos are good. What's not so great are their high prices for most foods and drinks. $20 for a burger and fries isn't too bad, the drinks are pretty good but at $8-$16 each, it gets expensive fast.

However if you want to try something new it can be worth it. There are other restaurants in the area and a few a couple doors down that also make everything from scratch along with having many different options from Alberta distilleries and their prices are much lower, but the quality of their food does reflect the price.

LOVE the vibes of this place. Super aesthetic design and details. Their music choice is also great if you love Spanish and EDM. Makes you really feel like you're on vacation somewhere tropical. Beautiful spots for some insta-worthy pics. And not to mention their drinks and food are amazing! Try their mermaid fishbowl, ceviche, and fish tacos!

Certainly the cleanest restaurant on the strip. For that I’m grateful. Staff were fun and kind, food was good and the variety in the menu was pleasant. Visited a couple of times on that trip.

Such an incredible atmosphere. Great hostess and waiting staff! They were short staffed, over heated and still managed to pull out incredible food and drinks all evening with incredible attitudes. 10/10 recommend for a group gathering, fun date night or just a nice drink after enjoying sylvan lake.

PS. The music they played all afternoon was awesome too!

Drinks are fab, staff and customer service is top notch. Everything is thought of — fun tunes, lighthearted staff, cute esthetic and in a great location. GO HERE, you won’t be disappointed.

LOVED LOVED LOVED! Had such a great experience at SOB for lunch. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and the SOB burger and both were amazing! Our drinks were so fun and our server Ainsley was great! It was raining that day so we didn’t get to sit on the patio but the atmosphere inside was just as good. The big roll up windows and the bathrooms were amazing!

AHS CONTACT TRACEING IS STILL MANDATORY AT THIS TIME. This was not done. Our server cleaned multiple tables did not wash or Santize her hands and then proceeded to hand us our food etc. We told her our Drinks were incorrectly made did not drink them she still proceeded to hand us the bill for them. After speaking to the manager she took quite sometime to bring us our new bill. The Tacos were greasy and awful but we paid for the food. The servers and hostess kept complaing how busy and hectic they were i understand its busy but like wash your hands once and a while Covid is still a thing. Disgusting. I hope the manager gets the staff start following guidelines Im sure the owners dont want to be shut down because there staff cant keep up with AHS regulations.

Our experience was terrible, had to ask multiple times for stuff beer was spilt on children bulldogs came without the tequila and coronal had to be asked for, food was cold and portion size for the price was shocking. Attached is picture of the fish tacos, it came as three this is almost 19 dollars and comes with no side.

This place lives up to the hype. Great views, great food, great staff, great drink menu. Atmosphere was lively. The perfect waterfront restaurant in my opinion.

The food was pretty good, plated nicely but the portion sizes are very small for what you pay. I was still hungry after the meal. The drinks were delicious but once again, very expensive. The wait staff did an awesome job! The whole vibe in the place was great and would definitely go again.

Definitely not worth the money - the price is 2x what it should be for the size and quality of the food. Could not taste an ounce of salt in anything I had (pasta & tacos).
We had maybe the worst waitress we have ever had anywhere! - giving us the wrong food and insisted it is ours - could not get are bill straight - had to wait 20 mins for are second drinks - 20 more for are food and- 20 more for the bill- I highly suggest you go anywhere else this was a GIANT waste of time and money - spent 50$ on food - did not finish either and did not take it home.

First tried in November and had amazing service and food then had to come back and try the patio. Perfect spot to enjoy the sun, sip a good cocktail and snack on a tasty appy. Cute instagram-worthy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
