This shop, aside from having a wide product range, has superb customer service.
I bought some Albertan chevre which was a hit. When I returned for more, it was out if stock. I enquired when it would be restocked and was given a definitive answer. Sure as shootin', it was available as promised.
On another occasion, I called to check on sourdough bread inventory. No surprise that Sidewalk Citizen sourdough had been sold-out by Saturday afternoon. Luckily, there were 2 remaining which I asked to be set aside.
Great place! Love the smell and atmosphere here. Can always find my specialty items. Yes, they are a little pricier here, but I like to support local. And the home made sourdough bread made daily is amazing!
I have bought there deli salads for over 2 years. Ive always felt like I wasnt getting what I paid for and today I finally figured out that was true. I took my salad home and weighed it out.was charged 10$ for 200grams.totally over charged. I called too adress the situation and the girl basically told me I'm paying 2 dollars for the box it came in. Like for real? I'm confused how am I responsible for the packaging that contains my food now. Just un real how these places get away with this and dont even let the consumer know. If anyone is familiar with these cardboard boxes they use they surely dont cost 2.00 a pop.and too just basically tell me that that's what they do and they dont plan on changing a thing is just wrong.should be zeroing the package and selling you the actually weight of the product.myself i will discontinue my visits as there is many other places near by that arent so sheisty.
The baked goods are the best in Calgary. I enjoy the selection of healthy options. My favorites are The Living Libations, and Purica lines on the health supplement side. For the Baked goods my favorites are the Chocolate chip Prairie Mills Bread Loaf. For the baked/fresh in store items, their Danishes and bread pudding are top of my list.
An older lady at the supplement counter would not even listen to what I'm looking for, she kept pushing something that doesn't follow my physicians recommendations. If you don't have a vitamin in a certain IU, please don't get mad and irritated, just say nicely you don't have it.
This market is one of the reasons we were inspired to move to the neighborhood. They have all of the essentials and are always stocking up on new items. Patty and her staff are super friendly and accommodating, and if I can’t find it, they always help me find what I need. Not only do they have an incredible selection of fresh produce, they have Sidewalk Citizen bakery inside, whose sourdough bread is not to be missed.:)
Health good store who does not respect mask exemptions should not be labeled as “health” food store… wohdl give 5*, giving 1* for violating Human Rights. Would never go back again!
Once of my fav places to pickup fresh produce & bread (sidewalk citizen). Recently ordered for 'curbside pickup' due to the current circumstances and it was super smooth! Again, the veggies I ordered were super fresh and the staff were very helpful.
Very grateful for local businesses like this remaining open during these uncertain times! Contactless orders and pickups are being accommodated and this is a great way to get your essentials that may be sold out elsewhere while supporting small businesses! Also one of the only places you can find Made by Marcus pints at the moment. ;)
I've always loved shopping at Sunnyside Natural Market. It's a welcome break from the chaos of large grocery stores, and it's a treat to buy thoughtfully selected products (there's always excellent chocolate and cheese and I sometimes get lucky and get a stellar deal on fresh guacamole that needs to get off the shelf). Their bulk section is really well-stocked for the size of the store! And bring-your-own-container is appreciated. I also appreciate the extra precautions they've taken to keep staff and customers save in the pandemic.
Amazing selection of cruelty free and plant based products, huge selection. The staff are very personable and helpful, a very welcoming place to stop for a goodie or to buy any of your household needs:)
