This restaurant used to be a family favourite and I used to frequent it with my parents every week for dinner. We stopped some time post-COVID because the inflation and mark up on their dishes was getting kind of out of hand. $30+ for a plate of snow pea leaves? No thanks. It's unfortunate because their food is really good, we used to love their lamb hot pot and on special occasions we'd get a lobster or crab. I haven't been here in a while but recently I did go for lunch with my family and we just got bbq duck noodle soup. Lunch menu prices are of course more affordable than dinner items. I think it'll be a long long time until we're back for dinner.
Can the chef please stop placing numerous burnt barbecue into customer take-out in the bottom layer to hide it. It’s completely burnt, cut it out. Who still do this unethical off-putting practice nowadays?
Disappointed. I order the first picture before and this time it came out like the one on the second picture. Doesn’t even taste great. Ridiculous. And when I tell the waitress she can’t even change to a different dish. Bad service.
This place is really busy. I ordered their specials, BBQ items on rice: Salted Egg, Duck, BBQ Pork, Chicken and Roast Pork and BBQ Pork. The portions are good but the only thing that was a disappointment was the duck and chicken pieces were mostly bone than meat. I looked over at the next table and their pieces looked very juicy with better meat to bone ratio. The price is a little bit on the pricey side for what you get in the combo.
Great food. The staff were friendly. Very busy restaurant, can be a bit frustrating when trying to get service and paying the bill but the food makes up for it.
Delicious delicious food! Probably the best place in Calgary for any bbq meat dishes. Highly recommend the sweet and sour short ribs, and the black pepper squid! The sizzling beef plate was also incredible!
When you are in the mood for bbq this is the place! On rice, or my fav on lai fan noodle soup. Crispy pork, bbq pork, duck, chicken … choose your weapon. Awesome with a hot or cold milk tea. Go in the morning or lunch time before the bbq sells out.
Food is so good! I had pork bbq, sweet and sour pork which was a bit toooo sweet, stir fried beef (Perfect). Im kindf addicted to the food currently and will be visiting often. I want to try out every dish they offer.
Usually good food but feel I the service in this place has gone down hill. The servers are understaffed / have a TERRIBLE attitude towards their customers.
We were waiting very long for 2 dishes and when I had asked our server about them she just responded “it’s coming”. We waited 30 mins longer and wanted to cancel the extra dishes and they didn’t even know which dishes hadn’t arrived yet.
Haven’t been that angry at a restaurant in a long time.
Only a few Hong Kong style cafe still hanging around offering some delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Their BBQ meats are amazing! Freshly made everyday.
Lunch menu includes some classic HK, BBQ meats veggie, and rice, beef noodle soups, and your milk tea! Delicious!
The Thai chicken was disappointing, not spicy enough, even a bit bitter. All else taste good, especially the stirfried beef with ginger slices and green onions. Beef was super tender, coated with perfect amount of sauce
The service has never been amazing but it’s the food you come for. Our last visit here however was extremely disappointing.
We were there for nearly 2 hours waiting for our food, tables who sat down after us left before we did. When we asked our server (who had been giving us attitude all night) to check on our remaining dishes she brushed us off saying it was coming. Finally we got fed up and asked for our bill and to just cancel what wasn’t brought out. At that point our server asked us what we had ordered. This really upset us because why did she not ask us this 30mins ago when we asked her to check on our food. They had clearly lost our order and this could have been resolved earlier if she would have just checked.
I will say that I can empathize with how busy the place looked and also understaffed but our server’s attitude and the way she handled the situation was what really upset us.
The restaurant is very very crowded, which makes it very hard to move around. The food is also not that good. Their French toast is good but that's about it. Some of their food is overwhelmingly spicy with no other flavours aside from spice, and others they add too much black pepper in the sauce so once again, it overwhelms any other flavour that might be present in the dish. They used to be so good when I was younger but they've really gone downhill ️
