Klodi is the best! She was thorough and professional and great to work with. She always kept communicating and always held a conversation. She was honest and forthright- no games. Additionally, there was a group of "young" kids who seemed to be short on money, she happened to pay for the rest of the money needed. I felt lucky to find Klodi. She deserves the best.
The only store I know that do not allow to take shopping carts outside. I buy lots of stuff and it is heavy to bring to my car on a parking spot. No help ever offered. For a such overpriced place, I would expect a better service. I also communicated my concern with the store, was told this is the way the store is run.
I shop at this Sunterra almost every single day because of convenience. The staff has changed quite a bit there, however, one of the cashiers who is just fantastic is Amber. She is always helpful, sweet, polite and works so hard. I hope she doesn't leave. Shannon, Calvin and the rest of the hard working staff should be commended for all of their hard work. There are a lot of products at this store that seem to run out regularly. When you ask several times if there is a solution and nothing changes - it does start to make one want to shop elsewhere. The staff overall are so wonderful.they treat me and my dog like we are special and for that I appreciate all of them.
Super feast - Thxgiving - meals picked up on Saturday.so good ; some prime rib & some turkey - delicious; and did not have to pay any money as I used my points! Yay.very tasty & as per always delish. Love Sunterra meals! 5 Stars plus
I won't buy anything pre made from here. It seems to always be off. Bought pasta sauce a few times and it exploded once I opened it because of bacteria growing in it. I also just found out they don't sell valbella meat anymore. So the one product that had me going back is gone.
I love this market. They used to have the best coconut macaroons I've ever eaten. They stopped making them years ago though and I still dream about them
AWOL cookies aside, they're still a great little market. A little over priced but you'll find some products you wouldn't find at say, Walmart and everything is slightly better quality.
I had ordered Christmas dinner to be delivered on Dec 24th between 10am - 12pm. I spoke to the Britannia plaza employees probably 5 times that day over the phone. They told me my food was coming, then it wasn’t, then it was, then they said it was actually never coming in the first place……By 6pm that day which was 6 hours after the delivery time they had said they would issue me a refund. I have not yet received my refund on my credit card. I spent half of my Christmas Eve trying to contact the store as they never answer the phone, when I would finally speak to someone they had no idea what was happening.
Unfortunately they ruined my entire Christmas dinner that day. The women who I spoke with about issuing the refund was not very apologetic whatsoever, she could not have cared less.
I understand the store was busy but it was honestly a joke how it was handled. I should not have to reach out for a refund after being told I was getting one. Please forward this to someone who will actually answer my request as no one is answering my emails.
I will also say unfortunately this is not the first time this is happened but I did not reach out as it’s a complete hassle. It also happened last year and it’s safe to say I will not be ordering from Sunterra again. I will not let them away with this, it’s ridiculous.
UPDATE: I had to call my credit card in the day of Christmas eve, because of a mix up.they ended up billing me twice for two different amounts. One charge is from Christmas Eve the other from a few days later. I did not go shopping there again after what they had done. I did not use my credit card there twice, but someone did. They will only refund one charge now apparently. Apparently I magically went and shopped there as a ghost? ! Be careful giving this store your credit card info as I think an employee used my card to buy stuff! I certainly didn't as I will never shop there again. Now they will only refund one charge and do not believe the other charge was them. I will be changing my credit card number this company is an actual joke. They stole from me and do not even care, great job Sunterra!
When i went on a weekday afternoon, the quality of the breads out felt quite stale. The deli meal selection was low stock, And the floors were quite dirty.
If they cannot bother to keep the shop clean, it makes you wonder about the food quality.
The cashier- woman in her 40's, seemed quite bothered by me making purchases. No hello, no thank you. Being unfriendly is not appealing
Do NOT … no matter how hungry you are buy any of Britannia Sunterra Market’s individual take home meals. They are not edible…. Overcooked, tasteless. Had no issues with meals from their other locations just this one
This is just rating their take out sandwich/baguette as that is all I’ve tried from them so far. The market itself seems well organized and clean. As far as the sandwich goes the baguette itself was excellent and very hearty. My problem with it was slimy lettuce that looked about 2 days too old. Also there was a pretty sad amount of toppings/dressings for how much bread there was and how much the whole thing cost.
Absolutely brilliant! Am new to Calgary and this market just made me feel like home and the staff were super friendly and well mannered. Love this place!
I usually visit their bakery section. Love their sliced & whole cakes. Price has gone up a bit since early last year. Friendly staff and well displayed shelves.
I've had told this to management more than once. The quality of the food here (meat and prepared foods and pastas) is bad. Pasta was expired more than once. Meat sold is not always fresh, with bad colors and smells. I bought some wings fot lunch and they were so hard and old (mind you I bought them at 12: 05 for lunch I'm not complaining about wings I purchased at 9pm) I had to triple check I wasn't chewing on bones. However the people here are amazing and friendly. A shame they don't control food quality.
This is the perfect one-stop shop for all food and drink.and the baked goods are great too! Plus, the farmer's market-like feel is really what makes this place special.
I have lived in the area for 10+ years and only go to this store when absolutely necessary because of its limited product selection and rather exorbitant prices on fruits and vegetables.
The last time I was in they had the back parking lot entrance blocked off (for covid reasons?) and they were only allowing customers in through the plaza entrance. I was physically stopped by an employee for trying to leave after I paid because there was another person entering around the same time I was exiting, and I needed to let them go by first. Apparently I wasn't allowed to walk past another person for 5 seconds on my way out (even though we're all wearing masks) ? This makes no sense to me since the employee who stopped me was standing right by the doors/baskets less than 6 feet from all the customers entering and exiting, for presumably their whole shift. Haven't been back since as this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
This place is in a richer area, so the prices are higher. But you get so many unique and high quality goods. Im not doing all my everyday shopping here. But I'm always dropping by to get those niche and interesting items. Great place!
Awesome place to pop in and grab a few things for dinner, with the small space there is always an employee happy to help you with anything you need. However was extremely disappointed in the manager working, she was shouting towards an employee to hurry over a busy area with customers, and while the two young ladies helping me out bag a few items, manager then walked by and snatched the empty bag out of the girls hand. Was an extremely awkward atmosphere and hope Im not there again same time as her working.
One of the smaller locations in the city, They don't have quite the selection as compared to 12th ave.downtown or the one located in Bankers Hall. Overall, not bad if you feel like grabbing a quick bite!
Just had there precooked cabbage rolls! Will not have them again! There was literally no ground beef! At all! Wound up with rice, rolled in cabbage leaf with bland tasting tomato sauce! I do not enjoy leaving a bad review! The gal I spoke with was very decent! She offered a replacement! This is really the straw that broke the camels back. Have eaten breakfast there many times! That is the best bet! Anytime I try a dish with sauce! The sauce has no flavor! I should have know better before I tried the cabbage rolls! It looked good! Tasted awful! Again! It wasn't just the sauce! There was no ground beef at all! Nothing! LOL! See ya
I recently ordered a seasonal feast from Sunterra Market, and my experience was so disappointing (both picking up and ordering the meal) that I won't be a customer again.
Firstly, I inquired if any substitutions could be made to the meal via e-mail. After three days without a response and figuring things were busy, I phoned to inquire and was given another e-mail address to contact, and was told substitutions were not possible as the meals were pre-made and pre-packaged. I placed an order anyway, and the next day received a response to my initial e-mail saying that substitutions were possible and giving me the choice of two options. I explained I had placed an order and requested a substitution as outlined, but did not receive a response.
Since I had already paid and chosen a pick-up time/location (at Britannia Plaza) when I placed my initial (non-substituted) order, I went to pick it up using curbside pickup. Upon arriving, I phoned from the parking lot as instructed and was told they'd advise I was here "right away" and bring my order out. I waited 30 minutes, then decided to go into the store, but there was a line-up due to capacity restrictions. I phoned again from the line-up to explain the situation and that I was waiting for curbside pickup outside, and was told they'd advise that I was in the line-up "right away". Again, no one came out with my order. I made it into the store and was directed initially to the deli, then to a third individual who finally found and gave me my order. I explained that I had been waiting nearly an hour for curbside pickup and that no one had come out with my order, but was barely paid any attention to - the staff I spoke to was extremely dismissive.
Unfortunately, the quality of the meal did not make up for the service and a "curbside pickup" wait of nearly an hour, making the entire experience extremely disappointing. After this experience, I will not order from Sunterra Market again.
Expensive but very quaint little Supermarket located in the Britannia Shopping Plaza on Elbow Drive in the city's Southwest. Many gluten free, non GMO, vegan, holistic, alternative, and locally sourced healthy eats and food products. Staff are knowledgeable and caring.
As with all Sunterra locations, this one is amazing. We love that it’s situated in a unique little strip mall that is fun to walk up before going grocery shopping. They have a great selection of treats, produce, baked goods, and meats. They always have samples of their baked goods, and the things they bake are incredibly unique (and beautiful!) You’re likely to find your favourite speciality items here.
Got food poisoned by their premade shrimp pasta. I initially thought it had a bad fishy smell only because of the shrimps. But that fishiness became sour? By the next day. Their facility is quite outdated and nothing really special about this place. But their dessert is pretty good. I guess it's because bakery doesn't go bad as faster?
Had lunch delivered by Sunterra for a meeting today and it was wonderful. Very generous servings.ordered for no leftovers but still had some delicious things to share with others after the meeting concluded!
I ordered a carrot cake from here and it was fabulous! I highly recommend it. The lady followed my instructions on what to write on the cake and she had it packaged and ready for pick up when I got there! Very happy with the flavor of the cake and how organized and efficient the service was.
I absolutely love this place and do all my grocery shopping here however, recently i have been very disappointed i bought bread and there was a big bug/fly baked with it. Seeing that made me to puke so i called them to let them know and they didn’t even said they were sorry. The guy i talked with was cold and dismissive and told me to bring it back and we will give you another one.
This used to be a place I would go out of my way for. The long term serving staff that have been there seem to be going through the motions these days. Not actively engaging customers and being helpful like they once where. Times are changing and no longer does the service warrant going the extra miles to ship here
We had a wonderful experience here, which proved to us Sunterra TRULY caters to their customers' needs. In a world of meek customer service, that is seriously refreshing! Lured into the store by their fresh produce and ingredients, we were hoping to get something to eat outside as we walked around the area, but couldn't find what we wanted. The General Manager noticed our hesitation and asked what we were looking for. When we said a panini, he inquired about ingredients, said "okay, I can do that" and proceeded to the grill to make us our paninis. We were so impressed by his initiative, kindness (and of everyone else we interacted with!) and it was honestly the best damn panini. We will absolutely be back!
A great store with wide variety of selections especially in baking and ready to eat food items. I mostly come here to try new food items and to get my usual baked goods such as Apple Crumble pie or Banana bread with chocolate. The staff are friendly and provide great services. This place can get cramped once it gets busy due to perhaps lack of space compared to other Sunterra locations, but understandable since this location may be one of the oldest locations.
Barely worth the one star. The produce section is lack luster, the prepared meals are already going bad by the time they are put out, the staff are unhappy and it shows. I don't see how they can charge top dollar for the same items Safeway sells, peddling such a run down store. Sunterra, level up.
Premade meals appear to be made using ingredients that would otherwise be past expiry to oily, "homemade" pasta is always past its prime with discolored hard edges
I really do enjoy shopping here even though it’s expensive. I pop in once a week to buy muffins for my boss. They know me by name and always ask about my boss
Friendly staff! It's a quaint old store it seems. If I lived in the neighbourhood, I would shop there. As it is, I was looking for a sit-down breakfast as at the Keynote location so I was quick to leave.
I do really enjoy going to Sunterra to shop. This particular location is small and quaint. It offers the average selection of product, baked goods etc. The best part of Sunterra is their quality and selection of meat products. Downside is everything is super pricy. I also always seem to be waiting a long time for help at the deli counter for meats and salads. I will always come for their meat. Meat snobs heaven.
The party platters they sell here are over priced, same prices restaurants sell party platters for, but without hosting the party with service, etc. The same with all the regular grocery items and produce, and worse the meat department sells meat for the same price restaurants sell cooked steaks for. Iget it Britannia is near all these mansions and expensive homes but there is also allot of people that live in the area with regular homes and regular incomes too, and after all, you are a grocery store, I realize your not trying to be a cheap grocery store, but Sunterra needs to stop acting like they are a full service restaurant, unless they start sending Michelin Star chefs home with the steaks they sell to cook the food we bought for us!
