We stayed here for 2 weeks and the room is clean and quite nice. The simple things like kettle, microwave, and iron are included in the room. I stayed to expensive hotels and some of these basic appliances aren't included. So that's a plus. Also, the location is near the airport and other shops around that you can just walk to. Overall, it's basic but complete.

We paid for our room, tried to cancel because of health concerns, still paid full price and chose to book another, clean hotel instead.

I am not staying at this hotel.which I will never now or even recommend super 8 to anyone because of what I experienced tonight.

I was walking my dog along the back side of the building when he discovered a USED needle.absolutely disgusting.
I walk around the to the front desk, tie my dog up to a flower pot (it's about 4am so no activity outside) the front desk person, comes to the door before I can open it, locks it n starts going off about my dog at the front.my dog is a pug.cute harmless. Pug. I try to tell her about the USED needle behind the building but she was WAY to concerned about my dog being at the front.

You think she would be a bit more concerned about the USED needle at the back of the building.if I didn't see what he was about to sniff. This review would be very different. So point being, anyone who uses needles. CLEAN UP AFTER URSELF. Seriously.n super 8. Get some employees who speak English n have some more regard for the safety of the people who are staying there.

The USED needle is located at the back of the building.far left corner (if u facing Barlow) under a tree closest to the parking lot.might wanna get that cleaned up before something does happen to someone's animal or even a person.

Rooms were old. Bed wasn't very comfortable, and the pillows were lumpy.
Breakfast was a couple of cold cereals, some bread and hard-boiled eggs. Not the greatest. Went to timmies near the property. Definitely won't stay here again.

HIDDEN FEES. I called a month prior to my reservation to ask if the airport shuttle is free and they said YES and reassured me it’s free (only reason I booked this place). Then when I went to order the shuttle when I arrived at the airport they charged a fee. Don’t trust what they say. Go to the Acclaim Hotel instead it’s a nicer hotel with a FREE shuttle.

The room is in a terrible state, the beds are dirty, with someone else's hair! For a week, they didn’t come to us to clean a single time, until they themselves went and asked for it! Worst wi-fi I have ever seen! It's a pity that the minimum rating criterion is one star, if I could put it lower, I would! The maximum discrepancy between price and quality, $ 10 per day, such a price should be for this "hotel"

Grew up in calgary, and moved away and decided to stay here for the weekend visit.

I knew this hotel use to be dumpy. New owner have done a great job cleaning it up.

Beyond brutal.i booked a room at this hotel at least 3 months in advance. I called the week before to confirm. When I arrived at the Calgary Airport they told me they had canceled my reservation and there was nothing they could do about it. We were left standing at the airport having to find another hotel. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will never go back and will tell everyone I know to never use this awful hotel.

We had to go through 3 different rooms because of the disgusting sheets. I asked for a discount because of the hassle and was only offered $10 off. After inspecting the third gross room, we packed up and asked for our money back. Because my boyfriend was upset, he left the building and as he was walking away, the manager asked "do you want your money back? " To which he replied by saying of course, cussed in frustration at the ridiculous question, and left. This upset the manager to the point of cutting me off with a raised voice whenever I attempted to speak. He said he wouldn't listen to anything I had to say because "that man said a bad word". He told the front desk lady to report my name on Expedia to ensure we never stay here again.

So because we brought up concerns and were upset, I was treated with disrespect because the manager is too full of himself to accept anything other than a happy customer.

The hotel is older for sure, but the staff are amazing. I was there for a week with a sick parent in hospital. Shiraz, was amazing! May be the kindest person I have ever met. I was always late getting back to hotel, he always made sure I ate, if I needed anything, always knew me by name & Asked about how my parent was doing. He is a wonderful man. 5 stars for Shiraz!

I had a great experience here. The staff was very friendly, check in and out went smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a nice assortment of breakfast items, as soon as the staff noticed things needed to be refilled it was looked after. I will be back!

The minor offense was we asked for a wake up call which we never received. Also had to leave early so my partner checked out early and forgot a few things. When we first called back they had found one item but not the other (which was a backpack with some keepsakes from my kids) However when we returned to town a few days later they didn't have either item. Obviously the staff doesn't have an organized lost + found regime and/or the staff take things. Either way, very unpleasant experience and we will not be returning.

Quick stop before going to Banff & Jasper… not too fancy stat for a night. Place is decent, can’t complain enough. Place is near the airport so if your flying, there are other accommodations to be had but depends on your budget. As long as there is a decent bed to sleep and bathroom to take a shower, its all we needed for a tiring long drive.

Very very very dirty. Everywhere. The towels are dirty, the bedding is dirty, the breakfast room is dirty. Carpet is sticky. And the room is stank so bed. The shower cartoon is disgusting. Stay away from this place. RUN!

So our family of six pull in to the parking lot, as we are waiting for a space to free up by the main doors. A fella on his motorcycle is backing up he yells, I roll down my window, he yells I wouldn't let my my dog stay in this place. So I prepare myself.we had 2 rooms booked, both rooms stank, the one room the carpet looked like the vacuum exploded, dust all over the furniture near the bed, lamps, bath tub looked like someone showered with their shoes on. The rooms were not cared for at all, no cleaning lady after 4. The hotel is run by East Indians. Truck stop adjacent to the hotel. Super 8 you need to learn how to clean. The rates were in the high $300 per night because of stampede.

Staff is extremely rude to most customers from the initial interaction. They will blatantly ignore you or forcefully cut you off from speaking. The interactions that I have had with the staff have surprised me every single time. Also, I swear the shuttle doesn’t even exist but they will tell you it does, make you wait and call back three times before telling you to take a taxi and they will reimburse you. They will also belittle you during this entire process. Spend your money elsewhere.

It wasn’t the worst experience but I have seen better hotels for this price. The quality of amenities weren’t best, the towels were stained, hair dryer didn’t work, breakfast was fair enough. The have doors connecting the rooms which effects privacy factors.

Its a good place if you are staying for one night.

I think this place could use some much needed adjustments and upgrades. We checked in and our room was not cleaned from previous tenants, garbage behind the desk, gross sheets unchanged from previous and even found weed stems in the bed. We checked in on a Thursday but we're told we had to just stay the weekend and "write a review" if we wanted but there's nothing they could do. Not even come and clean the room which was pretty disturbing. The front desk lady is new and quite rude when bringing up concerns with the room. We paid $700 for the weekend but we're met with very very very low service and care. One staff member (male front desk) was attentive but nobody else not even the manager. TV didn't work for 2 days of our stay and we're met with poor service when asking about it.

Do not expect any cleaning service even though covid restrictions have lifted. We had to basically beg for new towels as we were told to use the towels we had for our entire 4 day stay due to no service.seemed odd? But we're told no cleaning while we are there.and none apparently after you leave because we checked in to the nastiest sheets ever. Manager doesn't seem to care and staff said he only "comes and goes". Pretty rough motel very old and not updated like others. Don't stay here. Save your money if you need a debit deposit then grey eagle or delta offer the same.

Not a very good experience at this location SUPER 8 isn’t that bad every where kelowna had a great service but here internet doesn’t work, my washroom was clogged and nothing was done by management atlast they handed me the plunger and asked me to fix it myself i was like i paid to live in here and you guys shld have some maintenance or staff to fix it and provide me some either room if u could but at last i had to fix it myself and then the wifi it sucks. Works for 5 mins very bad quality and again reconnect and connects back.

Forgot a Samsung tablet on the bed, my bad. The only other person to enter the room was the cleaning staff. The tablet is nowhere to be found. Ali at the front desk said he talked to her and is pretty sure she doesn't have it. I am 100 % sure the tablet was on the bed because I sent an email about 10 minutes before I checked out. If she made the bed, she found it. I have been informed the manager is not available for 5 days. If you want a motel where you and your property is safe, don't stay here! NOT IMPRESSED!

My review isn't for the whole hotel, just for a very rude staff member. Her name is Marlene, and was working at the front desk when my coworkers and I were checking in. She had zero manners. My co worker didn't have his physical credit card on him for the 100$ damage deposit, and instead of taking down the information of his credit card, she told all of us to leave and cancel our stay. That was 4 rooms that she was going to cancel, that was PRE PAID. Definitely not what we wanted to deal with after a 6 hour drive.

Slimy billing. Stayed 5 hours because of missed airline connection. They automatically charge a safe fee. Told them we did not use or touch the safe, the reply was sorry! Huh.remove the charge or don't be slimy and tell me you are going to charge this fee before I check, in for something I will not use. They couldn't be bothered to look up my rewards number either.

The staff was great and the room good. My complaint is that i was charged to use the safe. Two dollars isn't much, but the principle is.i did not ask to use the safe and did not need it. Also, i was not informed of this fee and only found out about it when i had time to read the invoice. On principle, I would not stay here again.

The guy with long hair takes his job way to seriously (works around noon). Then the older skinny guy who works evenings doesn’t answer the phone on purpose and doesn’t greet customers entering or exiting. The only polite worker was the late night girl. Long hair dude and skinny old guy need some proper training they didn’t learn the hospitality management course properly or Alberta schools are not teaching correctly.

Stayed here with a friend due to it's proximity to Calgary airport. My flight landed at 12 am and I needed a place to stay for the night, was driving to Banff the next morning.

The hotel provided a free shuttle which was good and appreciated, it took a while to arrive but was fine. The hotel appeared a little dingy but was other wise safe. Check in was a breeze and the room was fine as well.

I had a problem with the AC which would randomly start / stop through the night with a lot of noise. The room was stuffy without the AC and that's why I had to have it on. The bathroom was decent and towels were provided.

Breakfast was in take away bags - cookie, energy bar and juice. Also, the room had a coffee / tea bar. Honestly, great price near Calgary airport.

Room was ok. Sketchy location and quite shabby in overall appearance; common amenities are not cleaned terrible regularly. The check-in clerk did not acknowledge my presence even though I was standing immediately in front of him. He turned away from me, shuffled some papers and then sat down and played with his phone for a couple of minutes. I stared in disbelief until he eventually checked me in, but seemed quite distracted through the process. I had to repeat myself and raise my voice to get him to understand what I was saying. Quite a strange experience.

Cost was double the rate agreed upon online. Instead of the $67.00 dollar amount that was projected, it came out to about $120.00. The security deposit was $200.00 (in which higher end hotels don’t hold this inflated amount). Also, the continental breakfast consists of a Swiss roll, a juice box and a granola bar. Would not recommend, unless they have more consistency and equivalent rates to the service they render.

Was ok for what I was looking for, but had an odd smell, the bed wasn't overly comfy, and the takeaway breakfast was a juice box, passion flake, and a granola bar. Also, it's not really that close to the actual airport terminals.

The guy on the front desk made me wait for almost 30 mins. There's no other people waiting, he just keep answering calls and looking into the computer. After our stay, they double charge us for the cleaning fee because they said we left the room super messy. We're pretty sure we didn't break anything, and we just leave things that's ready to be thrown away.

Incorrectly charged my credit card. Had to reach out multiple times to finally get a hold of someone to sort this out.
Had some other staff complaints as well that were addressed to the hotel manager but that were blindly ignored in emails. Left messages but no call back either. Not just the staff, but the hotel manager Nadir needs to get some basic hospitality training as well.

By far the most helpful place I stayed, fight off the bat, Shiraz at the front desk was the most helpful gentlemen I've met my entire life, in these times where greed is more important than humanity, this gentlemen proved the complete opposite, he is God sent and Shiraz, you sir are a gentlemen and a scholar you deserve all the gratitude and gentleness in the world.

Shiraz at the front desk, very professional all around nice man. You can tell he likes to make his guest stay enjoyable.
The prices were very fair, rooms clean, beds are very comfortable.

If you need a place in Calgary, I highly recommend this place! Go see Shiraz he'll get you set up for a comfy night stay!

Arrived late on a work trip and the staff at the counter profiled us based off of our tattoos and refused to take a credit card and demanded cash or debit with 65$ for the one night and a 250$ deposit for the room. Very unprofessional.

My stay at the Super 8 Calgary Airport was exactly what I needed it to be: quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. The Super 8 Calgary Airport boasts inexpensive nightly rates and yet somehow maintains a classy and cozy atmosphere that other discount hotels cannot achieve.

In particular I would like to thank Shiraz for going above and beyond to help me secure a room for the night. His compassion and kindness was so much more than just good customer service; it showed his passion for his job and commitment to making his customers feel comfortable and safe in his hotel.

I have nothing negative to say about this hotel or any of its staff; the Super 8 Calgary Airport provides absolutely phenomenal accommodations.

This was the cheapest hotel with an airport shuttle running, so i rolled the dice on it, it was a poor decision. I called when i arrived and was given explicit instructions on where to meet the driver. After 30 mins of waiting i called back and the man that answered the phone was incredibly rude and told me it was going to be there in 5 mins and hung up on me. 15 mins later (45 min wait for a hotel that is 12 mins away) the shuttle arrives. Arriving at 23: 15 after working/travelling since 05: 00 i geared up for a heated discussion with the man that hung up on me. Instead was greeted by a very pleasant woman behind the counter. Her demeanor defiantly disarmed me. I got my key and headed to my room.the key didn't work, back downstairs. The bed was worse than i'd expect from a 2 star hotel, but what are you going to do. The next morning, the shower draining capacity didn't meet the output of the shower head, the in room coffee was in my top 5 worst cups, and the 'continental breakfast' was a muffin and an orange juice box in a brown paper bag. The only silver lining that brought me joy was the 'no adult content' sign posted above the guest computer in the lobby. I laughed pretty hard thinking about what lead to that sign having to be installed. In closing, i will never stay here again, I will be staying at the Best Western, for $20 more a night, that has a prompt shuttle, comfortable beds, draining showers, and a restaurant on site.

These people are crooks! Do not stay here! They advise $62/ night they fail to mention tourism levy tax, provincial tax, and in room safe fees on top of which
they charge a $200 deposit for using visa which they promised would be refunded instantly, needless to say it has not been and I know I left it in great condition. These people are frauds and should be sued for false advertisement and theft!

I booked 2 rooms for 4 of us to stay for 2 nights on Expedia. When we arrived at the hotel, the lobby was empty and there was one gentleman working behind the desk. We went up to the desk masked and told the guy who we were and what our reservations were. He mumbled in a thick accent and spoke quietly behind a plexiglass board. It was so hard to hear him. He told me I only booked one room and he couldn’t find the second one. To help the guy at the desk, I showed him my phone that had the reservation number and showed that I booked two rooms. He grabbed my phone without asking and not even hand sanitizing first. The guy behind the desk told us the total was upwards of 700$ and didn’t explain why. I booked on Expedia and the price was in the $200’s. We asked him to explain what that was for and he did not understand me. After telling us that the holding fee was 250/room I understood and we paid our total. We went up to the room to find an underwhelming room. The surfaces around the beds were dusty-suggesting that they weren’t clean. I work in a hospital and I don’t appreciate a hotel claiming that they practice cleaning protocols that aren’t up to par. 5 minutes after we went up to the room, the guy called me to let me know he found a second reservation under a different name after I told him both were under my name? I don’t understand why people have to be so rude when you are working with customers directly. I don’t recommend this place. Not unless you want COVID.

Room was too small even after king size bed.no staff except front desk.bedsheet was not clean.have to ask for extra ones.

There was coffee machine in the room however, the coffee jug smells bad. Also, you can hear other guest taking or watching television in your room.

For breakfast you will get juice and muffin only. Would prefer to stay in Days Inn instead of Super 8.

The only complain I have is the breakfast: a piece of cake and a small juice? I understand the policy because of the covid but the bag they give in the morning is far from the "continental breakfast buffet" they advertise. It look more like they want to cut on expenses.
That said, overall, great experience, good beds, very affordable rooms.but the breakfast is a real shame. With a decent breakfast, I will would have rated 4 stars.

The hotel was okayish compared to other brands under Wyndham. The wifi was dead slow and I was unable to send messages on WhatsApp.

The grab and go breakfast consist of a loaf of cinnamon bread and a noname mango Juice.

BEWARE!

Terrible service and these people are crooks!

We left the room immaculate and they charged us full security deposit because of the room smelt like smoke, none of my family smokes nor did we have anything that would give off the smell of smoke.

So they charge us for this with zero proof and nothing we can do about it, absolute joke of service this hotel is run by scam artists!

I stayed here two nights. The receptionists were very nice and helpful. The first night I arrived very late and found stains on my bed. The wifi connection was extremely weak. When I went to shower, I had to turn the nob all the way to hot and had to wait five minutes until it was hot enough. The bathroom layout is very tight.

The hotel is very cheap for its location which is nice if you’re traveling on a budget. Parking is great, lots of space. Laundry is the hotel which is a huge relief for travelers.

Overall, good experience for the price.

As we were getting into our bed and rolling down the covers we found a used napkins and some crumbs in the sheets. It was late after a long day of travel and our nine month old was already asleep and so we just checked the other bed (which seemed clean) and went to sleep rather than call the front desk and then try to get our baby back to sleep when we had an early morning departure. All the same, this is just not acceptable at a hotel. Anyways, we did tell the front desk the next morning about it when we checked out, and they were appalled, but they didn't try to resolve it in anyway or even contact us about it afterwards. Also this is all during Covid - so it makes me question how well they cleaned the room in general if they couldn't even properly change the sheets.

OK. So i get it. Its hard times right now, but shouldn't that mean you do a little more to make sure guests want to come back to your property. This was the first stop amongst many during our drive across the country and i wish i had chosen some place else. The place needs a major makeover!

The first room we were given - the toilet was clogged, the bedding still had hair from the previous person/s that had stayed there and the carpet in the room was so damp i feared for my poor asthmatic lungs. But luckily the awesome lady at the reception switched our rooms.

The Second room - didn't smell damp, but the shower curtains hadn't been washed/changed in forever, the bed had multiple different kinds of stains and the chairs in the room were disgusting! Luckily but strangely these rooms have 2 queen beds, so we were able to sleep in the other one that was relatively clean. It was around 2am and we really didn't want to look for a different place! So we settled!

Then the next day we found out that instead of just having the cc on file, they actually charge the $250 deposit, so now we were $250 short on our budget until they returned it to our cc.which is ridiculous! I've never experienced this before. Or is this a calgary thing? They usually only charge the card if there is damage!

Finally, the only reason this place is getting a 3 star is because the lady was amazing at the reception, the views from the room were amazing, my hubs slept like a baby and he insisted i give them nothing lower than a 3 because we gotta respect the fact they were available and we didn't need to sleep in the car.

The rooms are ok (clean and good size), bathroom is ok (nothing fancy), smells old hotel but still ok I´d say. The beakfast though was horrible. I know we are going through a pandemic and that breakfast needs to be served in a different way but come on guys.what was that? They gave us a grab and go bag with a juice box and a little croissant. No jam, no butter, no nothing. No protein at all. They at least could give us a protein bar or something else. Very POOR BREAKFAST during the pandemic. Looks like they are trying to make up for their loss during the lockdown. I stayed at another hotel in Calgary in the same week and same price range and the breakfast was waaaay better. They provided us an egg patty, sausages, bread, butter, jamand options of juices (we could get from the machine).
They have good price, good location and the room is ok but breakfast needs to get better.breakfast.

When I checked in the clerk was not wearing a face covering. There is a note in the elevator stating that there is no cleaning of the rooms for multi day stays. The elevator was very messy with many weeks of dirt accumulation. The doors handle on the inside of the room were full of dirty hand prints. It makes me wonder about how dirty the rest of the room was. An absolute cesspool!

Horrible! I wrote two different emails to management about how disgusting my room was during my stay. Black hair all over the bathtub and sink, weird pieces of small rocks in the bed. Overall disgusting room for being a room that had been prepared for a new guest. If I didn’t have to be there for medical tests and already stressed out I would have checked out and gone elsewhere. Manager never acknowledged my emails nor did they reply to me. Piss poor management. They should have the evening front desk attendant, Shiraz, as a manager. He at least cares about his guests.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
