Sylvan Lake Community Health Centre (Advanced Ambulatory Care)

I wish that we had a 24hr clinic some people can't afford to pay $75 for a cab to Red Deer and if they don't have a vehicle to go anywhere else or like myself I don't have insurance nor the money to pay ambulance fee

I have had to utilize these facilities four times since October for urgent care and lab requirements. I am grateful for the great care, respect and kindness shown to me from the reception, intake, nurses, doctors and the lab Thank you for helping me when I really needed it from Nancy

Have always had a good experience here everyone is professional and courteous. We are very fortunate to have this facility in our community!

They need more doctors iv been here all day and still haven't seen a doctor

Up date: Waited there in pain from 2 o'cloc - 7 o'clock and they did nothing didn't even give me anything for my pain a complete waste of time don't bother going you're better off going to red deer

The staff and doctor were amazing! The care and attention they took for my toddler with an ear infection was fantastic, they didn't make her feel scared or uncomfortable at all. We were in and out in less than an hour with a diagnosis and a prescription. Thank you, from a tired mom, you made this day a little more bearable!

Good for getting lab work and previously recieved excellent care.
Few months ago, i came in with severe pain and bleeding, doctor Braden Nord dismissed me, and refuse to even assess me because he didnt feel would learn anything, then critized the medication my family doctor had put me on, after 2 hours of waiting. I went to innisfail ER instead for pain management, then red deer hospital a few days later to find out I had an ovarian cyst rupture. Ive never felt so humiliated, dismissed and such lack of care.

Ive previously had great experiences and help but this one has created a new anxiety towards going here.

It says online there open at 730am witch is wrong for lab work, it dosent say anywhere online or on the building when there open for bloodwork! ITS 8AM FOR BLOODWORK IS ALL I WANTED TO KNO

Not impressed with the quality of care. I went in with an infection on my face and major swelling; the doctor took one look at me, assumed that it was dental issues because my teeth aren’t great, proscribed topical antibiotics and suggested a dentist as it wasn’t really a them problem if my teeth are bothering me. I left feeling embarrassed and shamed for not having great teeth and a prescription that is useless now that the infection is spreading to my throat and ear.

I’ve ever been to a care center, with such caring nurses and doctors. Karin was one of my nurses and I think Kim, I can’t thank you enough for taking such great care of me and to the admitting staff for getting me in so fast!

Doctors and nurses on their phone stating they were “busy” as I was crying in pain a couple weeks ago. I understand healthcare and this was not okay. The treatment by the male doctor was also not needed in a very high anxiety time. Will be going to walk in clinics in red deer from now on.

We took our daughter here yesterday evening, as the Red Deer Emerg had a 3+ hour wait time.
It was well worth the drive, as the staff were incredibly friendly and personable. They treated us exceptionally well and the doctor was fantastic. We were triaged and the doctor examined her within 10 minutes of us arriving.
We left Red Deer at 9: 00pm and we're home by 10: 00pm.
Wonderful staff and the health professionals are world class.

My wife had a very sore stomach, a week after surgery, they took her in and checked her out in less than a 1/2 hour. Great experience.

Love having this in our community, a mom of 2 boys have used it more then once and have always been kind and fairly quick as most wait is due to staffing issues and not their fault

Great experience when coming to urgent care. Yes, the wait time was a bit longer when there last time with my daughter recently BUT great service from the staff. They do the best that they can to get patients in and out.

A perfectly fine place to get time sensitive care that's not an emergency. They're a little limited in what they can do, but for the three times we've been in (tetanus shots and a broken foot) they've been totally adequate.

After reading the reviews and this being the closest place to my home, I decided to call and see if they could take me as a walk in patient today. Upon calling, the call itself was short and rude. The girl on the phone answered by jusy saying “hello” and I asked if I could see a walk in doctor she said yes I said ok thank you and she just hung up. I have not even stepped foot in this medical clinic yet. And I will be looking for someplace else to go.

We always are in and out with our needs fully assessed and taken care of. Great staff. However, we had an experience lately where a nurse diagnosed us and wasn’t even close. The doctor was very knowledgeable and was able to help us. There was that 10 minutes of waiting between the nurses diagnosis and the doctors, where we were really scared. I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else. It was the first time for us. From now on, I’ll wait for the doctor before getting upset. In the end… everything was taken care of. I know I’m being vague. My point is… are nurses supposed to diagnose? Idk. Maybe it was a once time thing. All in all, I like the dedicated staff and everyone is always caring.

Every time we have gone the care has been wonderful. I went 2 weekends ago and knew that it would probably be a wait so went prepared. Even though the front was empty the back was full of patients when I went back.the Dr.was great and very thorough. The AAC has been a god send to Sylvan and area. I can't imagine how long of a wait it would be at an ER. The longest we've ever waited to been seen was 3 hours but they were extremely busy that evening.

I went because I fell on ice. Was not sure if broken wrist. I am now sporting a green cast. 1 hour in and out. Great nurses and doctor was very kind. I am grateful for this service in my community Thank you again for the great care given.

Been there twice over the years and I got no complaints really. Wait times are a bit long but it’s to be expected but the 2 doctors I seen there were great. Lucky to have a facility like that in sylvan.

Dr. Hackett is the absolute worst! He’s young, smug, and doesn’t listen or HEAR what his patients are saying. He’s so focused on what HE thinks is wrong with you, that he’s dismissive of pertinent symptoms that are very important! If you’re unlucky enough to get this kid.cause he’s an inexperienced young arrogant “Dr” I’d seriously request someone else! They must have really lowered the standards of who can become Doctors if he graduated. I’ve seen him twice and both times he was just AWFUL!

There should be a rating lower than one star. My own personal experience here has been spotty at best; but a recent incident involving a friend's care here is what motivated this review. The treatment they endured here was stunningly horrific, wildly offensive, and blatantly illegal. Refusal to accept an exemption card and subsequent lack of necessary and essential healthcare is illegal. Medical professionals cannot discriminate against their patients, it directly contradicts their pledge to DO NO HARM. This is shameful and horrifying.

I didnt seem to have a problem with the staff and their friendliness.but more so a problem with their time management and work ethic, it took me two and a half hours to even get into a checkup room, and the worst problem is they weren't even busy

I have had my little girls appointment moved 5 times for immunizations all with in one month. Always getting canceled or moved. Not worth it when she is due for her first set of shots. I will be taking her else where. Disappointed honestly.

Sylvan Lake Urgent Care has been a game changer for Sylvan Lake. As a mom with two teen boys who play hard we have had to use urgent care many times. I have never had a bad experience. The wait times are reasonable, staff is friendly, parking is good, location is good, they can do a lot of testing on site. Thank you!

This place is a joke. The staff are so rude. I went in to get help and they denied me my health to go back to work which is illegal. The 2 nurses were so rude that they pretty much told me it's not their problem about me not wanting to miss more work and to go to a walk in clinic!

Upon my arrival at the clinic, I was welcomed by a very rude greeter in the front on March 11, she is also the “mask checker”. After being directed to reception, I was asked to wait in triage for a WCB assessment by a physician. After waiting for over 30 minutes, a staff came out claiming that if they conduct an assessment, WCB won’t like it, and that my family doctor needs to complete. They turned me away. Upon complaining to WCB, about the incident, they confirmed that the clinic just didn’t want to do the assessment and that the clinic’s claim is unfounded. Will not be going back.

Staff are amazing and very caring! They make you feel safe and taken care of. Absolutely thrilled that this Clinic exists in Sylvan especially with their extended hours. The nurses even says if there is anything I can do to help make you more comfortable please let me know! Blood work is always very fast you generally have to wait 5-10 minutes before your taken in back when you book an appointment, which is nothing compared to Red Deer. Beyond grateful that we have this in our community!

Rude rude rude staff, I’m a very friendly person and I could not believe how rude and unprofessional they are. Never will I go there again and if it wasn’t for how bad I was feeling I would have walked out.
If you want to go somewhere and don’t mind being mistreated, then this is the place for you!
I left in tears and I’m a very strong person, not one to shed tears for no reason.
I’m literally scared to go there, I was traumatized.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemy.

Excellent and fast care after breaking a bone. Highly impressed! Best so far since living in Alberta.

I booked an appointment here for my daughter in their lab, we showed up on time and then waited for half an hour before we left. So ridiculous. Also the woman who greeted me when I came in was not friendly at all and even though I had an appt. I was required to wait with a number and watch atleast 14 people walk In to their appts. Definitely will not be booking here again. I will go to Red Deer if I have too.

Literally every single employee was smiling and I couldn’t help but smile too! First time visiting here and it was great! This review sounds like I visited a restaurant lol but the nurses and doctors were awesome!

Standard wait times for walk-in as expected for a AHS site, people obviously dont know how triage works so wait time is long as to be expected. Commonly it will be a long wait time with all the local druggies who know how to abuse the system, seen 5 when I was in there with my girlfriend.

Staff are nice but the wait time is hindered due to the abuse of the system I find. Go in the morning I find works the best.

The staff was incredibly accommodating. The nurses went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and looked after. Thank you to everyone for the care.

Unbelievable rude staff. As soon as we go into the second check in, wow a straight witch, her first words spoken to my daughter I was disgusted. If you hate your job dealing with paitents. Hhhhmmmmm don't frickin do it. We have brought our daughter to the med clinic to improve her quality of life, to improve the way she is feeling, well that lady would make me want to never come back ever with her resting witch face, and just straight up hate for anyone she looks at

While it’s true the wait can sometimes be long, patients are seen on a medical priority basis NOT first come first serve. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic to people who are unable to grasp the concept that another patient’s health concern may take medical priority over their own. I would recommend this clinic to people who are able to contain their groans and bring a book. All of the interactions I had here were very friendly and staff definitely don’t act as though their patients are an inconvenience. In fact, one of the nurses went out of her way to make my wait more comfortable. Dr. Hackett was very polite and thorough as well. I appreciate that a clinic like this exists in Sylvan. The hours are excellent, too!

Brought my son in for stitches, dr was going to to do it but decided to save time and glued it. Which I knew wouldnt work. Came back the next day to be told they cant do anything and that the dr last night should have stitched not glued but they could put a bandaid on it -_- and made us wait 3 hours to be told all this!

Terrible Docs. DO NOT GO HERE! Not a clue in how to treat patients. Went in with severe carpal tunnel pain and the doctor told me to go get a massage.seriously!

Clinic empty.over two hour wait.this place is such a joke, every one I know says the same thing.
