Sylvan Lake Park

We've had such a lovely picnic here. Absolutely beautiful place.
Try not to go in the weekend as it is too crowded and it is hard to find an empty spot to sit in.

Nice clean beach, very busy. Frequent patrols by bylaw-police and RCMP. Felt like a safe place to be.

Beautiful lake and picnic point. Family picnic palace where things are available nearby. Motor boat is an additional fun. Plenty of restroom available.

Always love stopping in Sylvan Lake when close by! Lovely warm evening to view the sunset over the water!

Nice place for some family getaway. Can get crowded over weekends but still a beautiful area to just stroll around.

Found a rare occasion when the beach was practically empty, water was nice, the park was definitely a must go for our toddler.

Beautiful afternoon. Can get a little busy and you have to pay for parking but fun. Bring your floaties and sand toys, pack a lunch and stay a while.

Sylvan Lake is a natural lake. Very beautiful and well taken care of. The ambience is so refreshing. Lots of very affordable parking close to the water. It is surely a place to bring the family.

Excellent beach park. Nice beach with shore line. The whole area is very shallow and safe for kids. There are nice shower and wash/change rooms no family rooms though. Parking is paid be sure to pay or get a ticket. There is a splash/inflatable aqua park for extra fee but its worth it too. There is kids playground, light house and just few picnic benches but a lot of rest bench along the harbour front walk. Boat and kayak rental options are available. I visited Sylvan lake for the first time since I was a kid. I'm so upset to see how the town is making profits from fining unreasonable tickets. My partner and I searched for parking for over an hour and finally found a spot at the lake front. We paid $25 for parking and when we came back (before our time limit was up) we were given a $78 parking ticket because the space was meant for trucks and boats. However there was no boats parked in these spots and there was nowhere else to park. Other family members of mine also recieved tickets that day for the same price. There was also officers driving on the sidewalk giving tickets to ppl using non electric barbeques or smoking. We ended up being charged $111 for our ticket as we tried to have it appealed and they denied it once our penalty period was over I guess, so we were charged more. If you are visiting come early so you can actually find parking and be cautious of their rules (and bring extra money in case they fine you!). This town has turned into an overpriced attraction that is taking advantage of families that are simply enjoying a little vacation. Might as well take the family to a different lake and save money, or use that same money to visit a proper theme park.

I got to know this lake 35 years ago, today it has changed a lot, but it is still beautiful!

If you have not visited Sylvan Lake you are not living your best life. The lake is clear and fantastic for swimming with the kids, family and friends. Great fishing to be had if you know the spots (ask the locals). The local pub, coffee and food scene are worth the drive on their own, "Sun of a Beach" restaurant is AMAZING! Food everyone will love!
