Dr Smylie and her nurses are AMAZING. The sympathy that she and her staff provide is unmatched. Everytime I go to see her for my condition I know that she will provide the best treatment plan moving forward, and it will be dealt with. I am even in between insurances and she was able to find short cuts and work arounds to treat me in the best way possible. Truly an amazing, intelligent and sympathetic doctor.

I had an appointment here recently and the front desk was rude and the doctor I had was leaving while I still had some questions for them to answer and the nurse I had had a tone too and avoid coming here for appointments it’s a waste of time and service as well.

I had two recent appointments at Symmetry (w/ Dr Samycja). The first appointment was rushed and left a relatively weak first impression but I decided to give them a second chance. I scheduled another appointment, but it was much worse. While the clinic was extremely prompt at checking me in, the doc entered the room in a hurried fashion, telling me to essentially 'make it quick' because he was in a Zoom meeting. He was unwilling to discuss the proposed treatment plan in any detail beyond handing me an Rx and apparently expected me to trust him, even though we had little to no rapport. His support staff/assistant was also very rude at the end of the appointment. She didn't know what Tretinoin was and got upset at me for asking about it.the experience was bewildering. It's doubtful I'll return to this clinic, unfortunately.

I recently (June 2023) visited Symmetry Dermatology on four occasions. On every visit I was treated with the utmost respect. The staff members are very professional in their approach. Thank you so much for your care. Eugene J Miller PhD

A few weeks ago when I paid for my Disport injections (Botox), I was asked to leave a tip.
I was a little shocked, as this is a medical facility, and my treatment was administered by a doctor. Since when do doctors ask for tips? I was told that the tips actually go to the staff. So, my doctor's staff gets to ask me for a tip? I think this is unprofessional.

In my opinion, tipping is for minimum wage workers (which none of these staff are).
I'm not sure where we draw the line nowadays. If every service industry starts asking for tips then do we tip our dental assistants? Our podiatrist? How about service personnel who are not medical like our carpet cleaners or plumbers? If every "service industry" profession asks for tips, it will become pretty tedious.

I've been told that a tip signifies that you are happy or unhappy with a service. But I think that if I return to your clinic, it obviously means that I'm happy. And if I don't return, it probably means I'm unhappy. Why do I have to contribute more to your employee's wages? Maybe as an employer, you should just pay them accordingly.

I find in grossly "unprofessional" when a "professional" asks for a tip. Especially a medical professional.

I came to Symmetry to get some help with hair loss (I'm a 57 year-old woman losing a lot of hair in the front). It only took me a couple of weeks to get in to see Dr. Samycia. On appointment day, he was punctual, personable, and took plenty of time to explain what the likely causes were. He immediately said that preventing further hair loss need NOT be expensive and recommended a couple of OTC products and prescribed Finasteride. He even suggested where the cheapest places were to pick up the OTC items. Very thoughtful.

He also looked at some spots that had developed recently on my face which turned out to be nothing concerning. Then he offered to lase a few of them then and there! I was definitely not expecting that!

This appointment was a world different than my visit to Dr. Anil Kurian last year for the same issue. Dr. Kurian stood in the doorway 6 feet away and would not come near until I specifically asked if he would look at my head (yes, I was clean, presentable and healthy!). Then he proceeded to try to sell me on $3000 worth of treatment. There is NO comparison. If Dr. Samycia continues as he is at present, he has my loyalty and my high recommendation.

After consulting with Courtney from symmetry and going over possible treatment options I felt beyond educated and informed on the processes available. Friendly Well informed staff with great attitudes. Highly recommend!

My wife just received what should have been a courtesy call for an appointment. Prior to engaging in conversation the receptionist Courtney was talking to someone else, then bluntly asked my wife to hold, when she came back to the phone she direct and very unwelcoming with generic statements; it would have been more welcoming having an AI make the call! There was no warmth or welcome to a new client.

Due to the fact that it is doctor recommended for attendance will she attend this appointment, but our choice would be to change as the gateway to any company is the reception received and Courtney is not a good representation for Symmetry.

Dr. Smylie has been a key part of my skin care journey. I struggled with acne for many years until she assessed my problems and educated me about skin care practices, selecting products that won’t cause breakouts, and dietary changes. Now I have flawless skin and her to thank for it! She is compassionate in her provision of care and dedicated to accurately assessing issues and presenting and discussing solutions I am comfortable with.

I was referred to Dr. Smylie by my Family Doctor for a rash. Dr. Smylie was able to fit me in within a number of days, diagnose me, and start treatment within the week. She was super helpful, friendly, and kind - I’m glad that she will be overseeing my treatment moving forward.

I have been seeing nurse Lisa and Dr Rodriguez for several years. I'm very happy with their professionalism. I have been doing multiple treatments, very happy with the short term and long term results. They are always very patient with me, listen attentively on my needs, recommending suitable solutions, all of these led to amazing results and a very happy client:)

Dr. Keeling is the best derm I've ever dealt with. He is gentle, funny, respectful of my body, and has greatly improved my quality of life. If you are an HS patient, he's your man.

Went in and saw Dr.semessa today. Very unprofessional and rude. Had an attitude acting as if I am stupid, low income and don’t know anything. Will not be returning. Very unpleasant service from him only. Everyone else (front desk ladies and initial nurse) were nice

So from what I read and my own experience. Unless your a paying client. They don’t care about you or your appointment times. If you need to be referred to a office, ensure your family doctor does not refer this one!
They are terrible, just don’t waste your time. Because they will waste yours.

Have been visiting clinic for almost a year now and just wanted to say all the employees up front and in the back are excellent! Always friendly, and in good spirits! Always get into my appointment at scheduled time or earlier! Keep up the great work!

I saw Dr. Samycia about a skin condition that causes lesions that comes and goes in flares that is also causing permanent bald patches and over all hair thinning. The timing of the appointment was not in my favour as my latest flare was nearly healed but I had taken pictures over the course of 2 weeks so I could show the dermatologist what the lesions looked like and how they progress.

Dr. Samycia only looked at my slightly red and nearly healed scalp, refused to look at the pictures I had even after the assistant and I mentioned them multiple times and proceeded to diagnosed me with dandruff. Once he was done going over treatment options I explained I had been on the steroids he suggested for all of elementary school with no improvement and had tried 3 out of the 5 shampoos as well as tar shampoos for 15 years (until my early 20s) also with no change.

Overall Dr. Samycia came across as dismissive and uninterested in anything I had to say.

Front end staff were very nice, as was the assistant.

Dr. Smylie has left me with more issues than I had before, and treated me in an insensitive manner during my two visits, making jokes that made me extremely uncomfortable, treating me like a dumb child, and she did not properly explain what was wrong with my toe, leaving me with more questions than answers. With the surgery, she damaged a nerve in the process and caused my ingrown to come back after trimming down the nail too far, leading to reinjury of the toe, returning swelling, and immense pain. She also gave me contradictory advice to what I received elsewhere, and despite telling me that if I needed more of my prescription I could just tell the pharmacy to fax her a refill request, she ignored the pharmacy twice when they sent the request, worsening the issue. I need to see a doctor again and I don't know if I can even trust the doctor this time, and I can't even wear closed toe shoes anymore. What will I do when winter comes if I have to wait and wait and wait for appointments again like last time?

Update: Called again to ask for a response to the fax. The one who answered the phone repeatedly interrupted me, and didn't let me finish, told me the fax was sent on August 16th, but I checked with both my current pharmacy location and the one I went to before I moved, and neither had received a response at all. I will update after I call Symmetry Dermatology next to discuss this. Hopefully, I don't get interrupted again.

Final update: 6 months and 24 phone calls back and forth with symmetry and the pharmacy and I finally have 5 refill available to continue treatment of what I finally now the name of from my own reading. If the doctor had told me what it was, maybe people around me would have been more patient with the situation. Maybe I could have fact checked her instructions. Hopefully I never have to call again. Remember people, ask your doctor what the condition is, and get a second opinion when possible! Be firm, yet patient and cooperative.

The only downside of being so good is getting in. They work real y hard to accommodate though

I have been a patient of Dr. Keeling since childhood and I would no longer recommend this clinic for anyone considering laser treatments. As a client paying hundreds of dollars per session for a cosmetic treatment, the patient care before, during, and after my treatment was horrible. The technician was not considerate of pain whatsoever, even after vocalizing and being visibly in distress so much that I was pulling away. I left feeling completely traumatized by my experience despite the website indicating "experience is number one priority. "
