The chicken in the chicken chow main was very questionable, tasted weird and huge chunks. The won ton soup was very chewy and doughy. We couldn't eat any of it. Won't be back
I ordered there recently and was very pleased. The lady was very pleasant and helpful and helped me get what I wanted for less money. I wasn't asking for a deal so I thought that was very nice of her. Also the food was very good and I was very satisfied with my experience.
We have been order from the same place for over 10 yrs. Many people I know said to try here, so we did! It was fantastically delicious, good price and portions! The lady who took our order was a delight and so kind! We will definitely order from here again! Thank you guys for not being a let down! I’d also like to add that anyone who has had bad reviews about this place needs to try it again.
Always my go to place I kept getting dissapointed by other places for Chinese food, never had a bad experience here, and the staff is always so sweet and amazing when it comes to fixing any mix ups (which we rarely have!). Always recommend this place to my friends too!
The food was very salty and the beef tasted bad! I love Chinese food and I frequent new restaurants once a week. This by far was the worst food I’ve eaten
So gross beef and broccoli had no sauce or flavour, or spice, or sauce; just grey tasteless meat. One tiny piece of chicken in the chicken fried rice, and it also had no flavour, hard rice. Good meat in the chicken balls but, the batter was rock hard. No taste to the Szechuen beef.absolutely gross. I couldn’t even eat it.
Szechuan Paramount is my go-to restaurant for ordering Chinese take out. The portions and quality have been fantastic with every order. Every time I've visited, the staff have been so wonderful.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE... Unless you want cold and greasy food. We ordered take out from here, and upon arrival it was all ice cold, not a little cool from the drive to the house but actually cold to the touch, as if it came out of the fridge. When I called to ask for fresh food to be sent out they told me that fresh food was already sent out, it's not thier fault and I could just warm it up. Ugggghhh.what? !? When I said that was not acceptable, they told me the best they could do was offer me a 30% in house credit. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told they were not in, when I asked for managements name so I could call back it was not given. If I could give below zero stars I would. Under no circumstances should anyone ever order takeout and then be told they can just warm it up at home. Terrible service. Terrible food. Absolutely nothing good about this experience.
Wanted to try something new. Tried takeout with my boyfriend and sad to say it was not very good. The sweet & sour pork and ginger beef were both very over cooked. The fried rice was dry and lacked a lot of flavour. The wonton soup was okay; the soup itself was good but the wontons were doughy still. The chicken chowmein and spring rolls were the only things we got that were not bad. On top of this the food took over an hour to arrive therefore was cold when it arrived, which is partially Uber eats fault as well but sadly this was not worth what we paid…
Very Disappointing! We have been coming here for over 30 years. The buffet used to be so good and we spent various special occasions having supper here for the buffet supper. I’m basing this review off the historical buffet being 5 stars. The takeout was never quite as good as the buffet but I’d still have rated it 4 stars even, The takeout is nowhere near what the buffet used to be now. If you’re expecting the same quality then you will be disappointed. Szechuan beef was pretty plain. The beef and greens had watery beef and the veggies were not great.
I don’t typically like leaving low reviews but SP you need to bring back your food quality to where it used to be and where long time returning customers remember: (Maybe this is the problem when you expand to multiple locations but this is still the original place!
We just ordered for late lunch. Our food came cold we live a 5 min drive should not be that cold. The food didn’t seem cooked and missing the sweet n sour sauce. The food didn’t have any flavour at all. Pretty disappointed in this location, it use to be good but not anymore. Not worth the pice.
I have been a long time customer and was disappointed with my purchase of dinner for 3. The food was just ok. There was nothing that stood out and food was cold we had to warm it up at home. For the price I will think twice before ordering again.
They must have a different cook around dinner time than in the afternoon because the food is normally do good, in fact it's our fav, but it was DISGUSTING when we ordered for a late lunch today. The ginger beef was so tough and had almost no sauce. The Kung Pao chicken? What was that? ! It was a bunch of onions and celery with a bit of shredded chicken and a flavour less sauce. The chicken balls had like no chicken in them and the breading had no additional seasonings so it was basically fried flour. I don't think I'll be ordering again anytime soon because four flat tasting dishes came to $80. I literally could've made it better at home either on my own or even from a freezer box. What a let down.
Got lots of food for how much money we spent. Had a $10 gift card, and got 10% off for picking up and paying cash. Food could have been better, we had the szechuan beef, szehuan chicken and chicken balls. For me the sauce was too sweet and could be much more spicy. Tasted more like a teriyaki sauce. The chicken balls were big in size but were lacking salt. All proteins seemed to be over cooked or of poor quality.beef was very stringy and the chicken had lots of grisel. Will.give another try.
I ordered pork Chop Suey, beef with back bean sauce, honey garlic chicken had a taste of all three and was just awful. The chop suey was like a soup and mostly fat for pork, beef was tons of grizzle and the chicken was like mush.what chicken was in it I couldn’t even chew it was so hard. My family used to go to the buffet once a week and it was really decent, I will never eat here again! Can’t see this place staying open much longer with food like that.absolutely a waste of money
Shrimp was over cooked with a funny taste (black bean shrimp) Bbq pork was over cooked and dry Chop suey had zero flavour and was predominately bean sprouts Way better options for restaurants in this city
We tried Szechuan Paramount for the first time today. It’s going to be our new “go-to” for Chinese food! We ordered the dinner for 2, and were pleasantly surprised with that it came with rice and spring rolls, and that the portions were HUGE! It was also delicious! My husband can’t have certain veggies due to having Crohn’s disease. They followed our request not to include any veggies/garnish with the dishes and even added an extra note warning us about veggies being in the spring rolls. It probably only took a few seconds, but it felt like they went over and above. I was particularly happy, as it meant that I could eat alllll the spring rolls to myself!
Absolutely disgusting. Ordered the deep fried shrimp. I've ordered from SP for the past 7 years. Generally the food is OK, but this was out of the ordinary. I would nor order deep fried anything from this place.
Szechwan beef was not tasty. Had dinner for one, only the egg roll, chicken balls & rice were edible. Beef & greens & ginger beef were horrible. Don’t recommend eating here
I've ordered from here in the past and it was good but yesterday the food was a big disappointment. The food was not fresh nor hot and tasted like left overs. The shrimps were greecy with too much batter. The rice was undercooked and grainy. The ginger beef was overcooked and chewy. Mixed greens with beef was not fresh. Tao chicken was overcooked, chewy and did not taste like chicken. Lemon chicken was greecy. Sweet and sour pork was ok.
Have been a customer for well over 20 years. The food is always good, hot on delivery and generous portion size. I only wish they would bring back the 6 individual onion cake option. Otherwise, can't go wrong with ordering here.
Definitely not open until 9, walked in at 8: 30 only to have them tell me they are closed. Website say 9, restaurant says 9.change your sign to 8: 30 if you are going to close at 8: 30. Guess they don't need my business.
Ordered from skip the dishes a week or so ago. We were pretty disappointed. The chicken fried rice we got was very obviously not fresh, as the chicken was hard and dry as well as the rice. The rest of the meal also tasted like it had been reheated.
Have ordered food from here at least twice a year for 10 years of more, and have been satisfied until the last time I ordered, (about 6 months ago), when I found the szechuan beef was more like chinese shoe leather then beef. Regardless, I thought it was just a one-off and ordered from there again today. Well, I should have learned my lesson. First of all the girl that answered could not understand me well, and I understood her less. Took about 10 mins to get a simple order taken. Then she called me back 5 mins later to ask about one of the dishes I ordered. That was cleared up. Then, I had wanted the food delivered at a certain time, and about 10 mins before the driver was due, she called up and told me I owed $188 instead of the $101 I was quoted. I refused to pay and she hung up the phone on me. When I called back, the manager (I think) answered and told me she had the wrong phone number. The driver then called, and asked for my address as this person had given him the wrong one - and he ended up here 15 mins late. Opened up the bags, and tried the honey garlic chicken first, which I thought was szechuan beef. And tasted like it. The kung po shrimp was missing the peanuts, and I was missing my appetite. To make a long story short, if any of you have read The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, you will understand what I mean when I say: Nevermore"
Awful! Don't waste your money! Ordered through skip and had to order from a different restaurant after receiving the nastiest chow main and wontons.thanks for filling the garbage! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK
The meals and service were beyond my expectations. We absolutely loved the environment of this restaurant. Amazing place to take the family out for lunch.
They seem to make good food, from the number of food delivery drivers that are constantly coming in. I, however was there to fix a furnace that had decided to quit when it was -40 outside. I personally haven't eaten there for awhile. Nice owner and staff to work around.
My absolute favorite Chinese restaurant anywhere in the Edmonton area. We moved across town and I will drive half an hour to pick it up. I'll be super excited when they open their Chappelle location as it'll be closer to my house.
This is our go to Chinese food Restaurant. Their food has actually improved since the Covid restrictions for no dine-in. We assume this is because everything is fresh cooked and ready for delivery. I must admit it is certainly a busy place around dinner time but, we tried the App through the Play Store for Android and it really made ordering easy. Defintely, a local establishment that my Family and I, would recommend.
I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and I love this place. A family run joint with hard working and friendly staff. The food is always on-point and I recommend always trying something different from their menu. Thank you!
They were running around trying to prepare everyones order on New Years Eve in a reasonable time. Food was absolutely great. In these Covid times - they were doing their best. Had to wait awhile and there were some impatient people but taking everything into consideration - they worked really really hard to get food to people. They had to be exhausted. I appreciate them and will return.
Thought I'd treat myself to delivery on Xmas eve, but was mostly dissapointed. Spring rolls were missing from my combo dinner. Food was mostly bland, and I would have sent the chicken chow main back if I'd been dining in, maybe the chicken fried rice too. Could get better from a food court. Waste of $
I visit this place a lot since I work close by. I have to say the customer service is always fantastic and they keep the place well organized constantly. Prices are fair and they serve generous portions.
Good food absolutely! Only thing.ordered over $200 worth of food and got no fortune cookies! To be told I gotta pay 25 cents per cookie. What the heck is that. So disappointing, always look forward to the fortune
Ordered last night on October 1st Was told 45 min and took over an hour once it finally arrived the driver told my boyfriend there was no tip and then continued to ask for one more than once.on top of that we got food poisoning from the food not a good first time experience that is for sure
This site is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. Whenever I want to go to a good lunch, this place comes right away to my mind.very good and varied food and a rich cuisine.well mannered crew, and pleasant atmosphere. In addition to that, the cost is reasonable. I recommend this place with no hesitation.
Ordered here for the first time in about 3 years. Dinner for 2 with a 2L of iced tea. Iced tea was warm. I think if you're going to charge $5 for that, it should at least be cold. Couldn't eat the beef and broccoli. The broccoli was bitter and inedible. Definitely not worth the money I spent.
This spot is great and spacious, the menu was yummy and the prices were very fair.quick, efficient service and very attentive staff members. I recommend this place.
Hi, I have ordered from Szechuan Paramount for 20 years or so and I can honestly say that every time I have ordered, not once I can complain. Different people have different tastes so different opinions but I have ordered from many places and by far one of the best in my opinion.
Pre-ordered food on Sunday, Dec. 22 for Dec 24 delivery at a specific time. Called after the food was 15 minutes late. Made up some story it is on the way, when really they forgot and are trying to make the order from scratch again. An hour later, after it was supposed to be delivered and still waiting for it on Xmas evening with starving family and relatives. Nice job of wrecking xmas dinner and the offer of 20% off now is now making me feel insulted. Recommend not using them for delivery.
Iv been here few times in past few yrs this is where I love eating chinese food I think it's the best place to eat n comfortable environment n great customer satisfaction
This place has gone downhill. I've always ordered delivery from here. Maybe this is the problem. You don't know what you get until you open the container. I always order the "mixed greens" expecting to get just that. NOPE! You get a container full of broccoli with maybe 1 piece of cauliflower. The Chicken Fried Rice now seems to have just rice with 5 tiny pieces of chicken 3 peas and absolutely nothing else! The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down.
Used to be my favorite place for chinese. Its gone down hill. The food was sparse and dried out. I had to really pull on the noodles to get it out of the pan and its deffo not worth 20.85$. The dessert squares were too rock hard like they have been sitting too long. Ill go find another chinese buffet. Im sorry. Its just not the same as it used to be. I dont think i will return. Plus the servers need to wash hands more. Especially after taking out the garbage and eating their meals. Just nasty all together
