We just had our Work Christmas Party here and it was flawless. We had approx 100 people and the venue and staff were great. The buffet worked well & the mini golf was super fun. Many people commented that this was best Christmas party they had been too. Aaron had everything planned and set up and honestly I wouldn't change anything. The only thing was on me and my team, check your compatibility of your microphone with their system ahead of time.

I can't say enough about this space, the food and the staff. From planning to the execution of my private event, I was thoroughly impressed with Aaron and his assistance along the way. I would highly recommend Taiko Canteen for your private events or even a fun date night! Can't wait to come back.

We had a private event for our staff to celebrate the year and everything about it was amazing, including planning, food, service, and experience. The only thing we could wish for is that our stomachs could hold more of the amazing food!

We’ve been here many times and same with the food truck and the food is absolutely amazing.
The reason we are only giving a 3* is because of the service we received when we had them cater our wedding.
When we met Aaron early this year to get a quote and ask questions, he wasn’t really honest. One of the questions we had was how long it would take to serve a large group of people/table of 6-8 - Aaron told us they could do a table in 5-10 minutes which we were ok with. He even said that they’ve done large parties of 250+ people within 2 hours.
That they would have 3 people in the truck - one who takes the order, one who cooks, and one who preps/serves
WELL on our wedding day - there were only 2 people and it took about 25-30 minutes PER table. We had 10 tables including the head table, and 70 guests. It took just over 2 hours to serve everyone! When we were under the impression it would take less than a hour. So we lost some time as we couldn’t do anything really until everyone was fed. YES they had appetizers + salad. But to take this long to serve our guests was unacceptable. The only good thing was that everyone enjoyed the food.
We did email Aaron afterwards with the feedback and never heard back which is disappointing

So very disappointing and wished they were honest upfront about this and the time it would take to serve people.
As we would’ve started earlier or gone elsewhere.
Just a heads up if you guys decide to use the food truck for your event.

Also the communication needs to be better if they are going to close the restaurant for a day or more. The last 2 times we went, the restaurant was closed. There was no word on Facebook or Instagram advising of this. The first time we went there were 3 other vehicles who also pulled into the parking lot wanting to eat here, only for it to be closed.

Really like the concept of mini golf inside a restaurant, was super fun to play a round after a delicious meal.
Eve was our server for the evening and she provided fast and friendly service.
Veggie tempura & kimchi tater tots were really good as well as the cauliflower and coconut tofu bao tacos- really appreciated the vegan/vegetarian options as well as the creativity of the menu!

We hosted a large corporate event here last week and it was excellent! The staff were very accommodating and managed the crowd well. Everyone raves about the food and venue. Thanks to James, Aaron, and the rest of the team for making our event a successful one!

Slow service. We had a large group and the server did not hand the bills at the end which would’ve listed the automatic 18% gratuity. Everyone in our group tipped on top of that not knowing tip was already included because the server did not hand anyone a bill. It was about 20 of us there for a birthday party. Nice spot otherwise with indoor mini golf and good drinks. Not going back there though, plenty of good spots in the area that are run better.

I went here on a friday night and the staff was wonderful! Even though they seemed to be constantly running around, I was never left waiting for long. The staff working that night deserve every cent of the tip I left them!

I only gave the service a four because it was very dead so the waitress was very focused on us and unfortunately came by a little bit too often but other than that she was friendly. Fantastic. The food was great. That was my only complaint

We had a fantastic time at Taiko! The drinks and food were amazing and the mini golf was a blast! I am Gluten-free and there were lots of options to choose from. We will definitely be returning often. Highly recommend

Food is always excellent, great service and a fun atmosphere. Make sure to order take out if you enjoy supporting small business. Save yourself and the restaurant money by taking the 15 minutes to drive and pickup your order. They will appreciate it and so will your wallet!

The food was immaculate I enjoyed every single bite I took of that food, I 100% recommend going here to eat

Had our birthday here this past weekend. The staff were amazing, accommodating and hard working serving us food and drinks. 100% would recommend. I love a good challenging putt-putt as well!

I drive down from Airdrie to get food from here at least once a month. The fried chicken is the best in the city and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Came here to celebrate a Friends birthday last weekend and the place was highly understaffed, resulting in hostile energy and just an over all bummer. The staff (like most of the 20-30 people in my group that night) are just working, trying to make and pay bills ect ect, and though their attitudes could have been a little brightertowards us, this is a failure of management and or ownership. It’s become too commonplace for bar and restaurant owners to justify cruel or unfair working conditions in the name of slow business or inflation, what have you. If you can’t afford to fully staff your business then you should close, not subject young working people to unfair conditions.

All that being said the food and drinks were great and I’m sure this place could be/once was great. A simple BA and SA would have made a world of difference to your staff, would almost definitely made the business more money then it cost to have those assistants working, and everyone including staff and our party would have had a great time.

So to the owners: Don’t be on the wrong side of things, get a grip.

We hosted our holiday party here and it was a blast. The food is incredibly delicious, and the bonus of the lucky putt as an activity was well enjoyed by everyone. Definitely recommend for a night out or booking it for your holiday party!

2022-Oct-19 Update: Came again for the hot chicken sandwich and was not disappointed. Also found out that the kitchen closes an hour before they close so make sure to get there before then.

Came here for a late dinner and was surprised to see it quite decently busy. Looked like there was a large group there so it was fairly loud. Cool that they had a small 8 course mini golf ($9 pp).

We had a watermelon mule and it was pretty simple but tasty. I had the Nova Dawg and it was pretty good overall but wished that the dawg was a sausage or something more significant as it tasted like a normal hotdog. Wife had the Hot Chicken Sandwich and was pretty happy with it. Not the best we had (that was in New Zealand), but close enough to it and available.

Overall, worth a visit.

I’ve had two wildly different experiences with the chicken sandwiches here. Three days ago, we picked up some chicken sandwiches to go and they were so good! Plenty of chicken, wonderful flavours (we got spicy and honey butter) and the fries were perfect.
We decided to treat ourselves again and ordered for delivery, and what we got was completely different.
The chicken sandwiches were slimy, small and had zero flavour on them. No sauce. Buns were not toasted and the whole thing looked just…sloppy. Way less fries, and they were barely warm.
The whole thing was super sad.
I know a lot of places don’t offer the same quality on delivery orders, but this was wildly different. It was like we ordered from a completely different restaurant.
If this was my first and only experience with Taiko and Zilford, I’d give this a one star and never go back. I would have given a 4 for the other day, so I’m averaging out at 2. I know for a fact this place can make a really good chicken sandwich, but I’m really disappointed on the quality control.

We came here with a group of 9. The drinks were amazing, watermelon mule was my favourite. The food was great too, the best being the gojuchang cauliflower. The pork belly, shrimp, and cauliflower baos were also great. Mini golf was really fun too. Only issue was the service was a bit lacking - had empty water glasses and empty drinks constantly and had to call the server over multiple times.

Loved this place when it first opened. Ever since, every meal I’ve gotten has been horrible lol. Either completely flavourless or insanely oversalted or just poorly prepared

Great place for takeout. We got bao buns and broke them over to uncommon cider as a snack. Quick and easy service.

I have mobility issues and Scott was nice enough to serve me at my car. I truly appreciate the kindness shown to me. Such wonderful service. And the hot chicken sandwich was the best I've ever tasted.

Friendly staff, interesting interior and delicious food earns it a three stars hands down im sure it earns the other two considering the pandemic.

Food was delish but our sever Sarah made my experience very memorable and I hope to see her again soon! She’s got tips coming her way for sure

Great customer service + tasty fried chicken.
Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the “mini donuts” were just chopped up fried burgers buns. Advertising these as mini donuts is misleading + inaccurate. They were inedible.

Really cool concept and environment. Just had some issues with the service staff who seemed disinterested and rude.

Cool environment, good beer. Disappointing food. The tacos lacked flavour and the meat seemed cold and dry. The kimchi tots are really good however.

Food was OK but a little pricey. I prefer the baos at MangoMania onstead. The concept is good though: decent food, beer, and mini golf.

We were at Taiiko for a work function and everyone had a blast. The golf was a great way to build relationship with co-workers.
There were 18 of us and everyone loved the taco’s, the FF the Tatar tots. I had the Poke’
Bowl and it was fabulous and it was a great portion. I think the portions are plentiful.
All around it was a great experience and a fun place to go and hang out. Everyone said they would be back and they will tell there kids about it.

4 stars because the Korean spiced fries tasted a lot like McDonald’s fries with some spicy mayo. However the Nashville Hot Chicken and Hot Chicken Sandwich were both 5 stars and delicious. Will be back again for that chicken, but everything else seemed lacklustre.

They do not offer service to your table, even though they said because we were a bigger group, they absolutely would serve us (we did not even request it this). So it started well. However, the service was absolutely terrible. The food took over an hour, and the tacos were in buns and not shells. Certainly was not our cup of tea. Ironically, they made our party give a credit card and ID because they said they have "sooo many people dine and dash. " It's not a surprise in hindsight. We all laughed because the thought came to mind with such a lack of service; they would never even know. We were truly disappointed. Our two friend's who birthday it was, we're pretty upset. They left a nice dustpan full of broken glass out. There was a common theme of being upset whenever we ordered anything from the bar (as we just started serving ourselves) like we were inconveniencing the bar staff. No one was smiling. I do have to say the hostess at the front was great!

Cool little place, mini golf was fun but wouldn’t recommend eating here. Fries were cold, and tacos were cold and tasteless. Definitely overpriced.

Food was mediocre at best, liquor selection was very poor. The concept of the bar is cool, music fantastic, odd location. To host a party here requires a ridiculously large minimum spend, which makes no sense with an establishment that cane barely seat any people, and with food priced so cheap. Overall 2 thumbs down experience. One and done.

We had a booking for a large group which they couldn’t accommodate. They have a good atmosphere and typically great food, but just need to get their affairs in order to deal with the traffic of Saturday night. Hopefully they will get their act together cause there is a lot of potential.

Service was wonderful. The staff are very tentative. The atmosphere was very chill, quiet almost. We came in with a party of 20+ and they took care of us every step of the way.

Food tasted delicious, but felt small for their prices. That's the only reason for my 4 stars.

They have a wide selection of craft beer and unique cocktails.

We didn't end up playing mini golf because it did cost to play. Their courses were very unique though and was a pleasure to see something new.

Decent. Ran out of popcorn chicken, but fave tacos were the tofu for me, shrimp for my partner. Golf was slightly awkward, but quick.

We had a great night out at Taiko Canteen! The food was amazing and the staff went out of their way to provide amazing customer service. Kudos to Ryan and his staff for a great idea that is being very well executed! We will be back

The bar itself is pretty cool. Although based on the food we had (Cauliflower tacos and Fried Chicken), I don't think the value for money is very good. The taco had one piece of cauliflower in it and for $12 you get one small piece of chicken. Other places in town that have great fried chicken have 1/2 chicken for $13-14 dollars.

Beer was pretty good and good mini golf.

Great spot to hang out with friends, play some lucky putt and eat some amazing food, the Korean spiced fried are the best! Omg that sauce is so good! Lots of beers on tap and they have gelato!
10/10 would (will) go again

Cool place. Food was good and the portions were generous for the price. Really cool atmosphere and will be going back again.

The Pork Bao and Cauliflower Bao is fantastic. Kimchi Tots are a must. The Pole Bowl is just okay, a bit salty and the rice could be better. The golfing is lots of fun and a really great concept. This would be a great place for a birthday party or a stop on a Bike n' Brew. Nice to see the local breweries features here.

It pains me to write this review as I love Zilford Fried Chicken Food truck. The food tasted great, my main gripe is that it's over priced for sure. Everything in the pictures, plus 2 drinks came to about $60. Definitely didn't feel any sort of value here. $5 per bao, or an order of fries is quite extreme.

It's great they do drinks from local places. Mini golf was cool. Seating capacity was a lot less than anticipated from early launch pictures.

Glad I came to try this at least once but probably would never come back until they change these prices. Can get a lot more at a typical pub for $60.

A new kind of gathering place where you can hangout with friends, families, kids and pets while having fun playing mini golf, enjoying delicious food and chilling to 90s music! Their food was great with fair quantities. I love that they also have Zilford’s chicken which is The Best chicken sandwich. They have plenty of seats and stand-up tables. I like the ambience in their washrooms with 90s icons soundtrack. Lots of cocktails and tap beers to choose from. Only downside is that they don’t have IPA beer yet but I think they will include it sometime in the near future, probably. If you are in the area, give this awesome place a visit I will be a regular for sure!

I work near by and have had the pleasure of coming here twice now for lunch. Very delicious! A little over priced but it's great quality and great tasting food. Service is fantastic! Staff are friendly! Will definitely be going back!

Such a cool spot for a date night or stop along the barley belt! Loved the "lucky putt" course and had some tasty bao buns. Also love that they have great vegetarian/vegan options.:)

Fun spot that could use a new menu.

Didn't want to miss anything so I ordered the entire menu of tacos except egg plant. The food was a bit bland and flavourless. The cauliflower and gingerbeef tacos were half decent but the rest were forgetable. For $5 each, you could find better food elsewhere. The concept of bao tacos is amazing but the execution leaves something to be desired.

Beer selection is pretty solid with some awesome local options. A sleeve of beer (smaller than a "Canadian pint" is $6-7).

Mini golf here is quite fun at $9/per person. It is short enough that you won't hate it even if you aren't much good. The course has some fun designs inside of GET LUCKY lettering. We were the only couple playing at the time so we didn't feel rushed.

The design of the place is quite nice and has a tremendous amount of potiental. When we arrived we were the only people there but the staff were very friendly. The music was pretty awesome with a nice mix of old and new rap/R&B.

Overall the concept is awesome. The location is a bit odd but that makes parking a breeze. Food is a major weakness. The mini golf is the main draw here and is quite fun. This place has a has a lot of potiental! If I'm in the area again, I will be sure to update this review.

Great spot for a date night!

The mini golf course is challenging enough to make out for a friendly competition between players. Loved the ski-ball style last hole!

Super enjoyable food. Lots of options for dietary restrictions (gluten-free, daily-free, vegan). I’m paleo myself; opted for the pork belly lettuce wraps and they did not disappoint

The staff are super nice and attentive. It's a small place but the ambiance is great and everyone is having fun. The food is absolutely to die for. I've been craving the kimchi tots for WEEKS

The mini-golf was the main draw and was reasonably fun and priced. The ten holes was quick to play through but can get congested with other groups. Good selection of drinks from local vendors; however, some of the selection was sold out for a Saturday evening. Food was mediocre and not reasonably priced. Tried the Nashville Hot Sandwich which was underwhelming in portions and flavour. Korean Spiced Fries tasted like McDonald’s fries.

A little loud for me, but perfect for the late night crowd. Awesome staff, AMAZING food-I almost cried actual tears at being able to procure both bao tacos and Zilfords chicken year-round. They have great local brews and a rotating tap, plus some cocktails that I will be back to sample. I hope this place sticks around, I can see myself becoming a regular.

Finally, Taiko Taco has a home!

A fun place to hangout, listen to good music, and play some mini golf! The tacos are delicious and can be paired with drinks from many local beverage companies. Will be back again soon.

Awesome food, atmosphere and incredibly fun mini golf. Went with a few friends on a Tuesday evening, they pre-booked a table and golf, which is recommended. Wasn't busy at all which was nice as it is a smaller place and could get crowded quick. Between the 6 if us we tried all that the menu had to offer and have absolutely nothing bad to say about the food. The drink choices were just as good, not an over abundance to choose from which is nice in today's craft beer world. Try the lucky charms drink, very tasty! We will be back for more food and a golf rematch for sure.

I have been here on a number of different occasions with friends and family we were all very impressed. The staff was polite and efficient. The food was great and the service was impeccable. There was a problem with the payment options however the manager was respectful and kind and was very knowledgeable in finding a quick solution. I will definitely be back. Loved the pork belly taco and the mango shrimp, and the Hokey poke was amazing. The Cereal Killa was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back.

After reading the other reviews, I feel like I went to a completely different place as my experience at this place was not very good.

The food is over priced for what you get. I had the Hokey Poke, it comes in this massive bowl but the portion is fairly small.there was no avocado, the brown rice was actually white rice. They covered the whole entire dish in their sauce so you couldn't tell that it was actually white rice and it was bland.
We did order the Korean spiced fries which were cold and were like McDonald's french fries just covered in their sauce and black sesame seed and not really spiced either. Other people at the table had ordered the tacos and the cauliflower was ice cold.
The service was not very good either. Maybe our server was having an off day or something but her attitude was not the greatest and wasn't very friendly. It took sometime for her to even come to our table and to take our drink orders and food orders.

If you are in the area 100% make a stop to eat, drink or even MINI GOLF!? ! Love the space all around.
