Hands down some of the best Indian food I've had in Calgary. It's so incredibly delicious. We love the butter chicken and the cashew cream beef. The garlic nan bread is sooooooo good as well! Highly recommended.
*Edit! We just ate in house this evening. The atmosphere is so beautiful and the food was absolutely delightful! Very very tasty. Can't wait to go back and bring family next time!

Terribly slow service. 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Waited 30 minutes after we ordered food for anything to arrive. Quality of food is changed, portions are changed, smaller. Prices have increased. Not going back

The worst restaurant I have been in Calgary. We ordered methi malai chicken and they gave us some type of chicken which was definitely not methi Malai for sure. We told server that it’s doesn’t taste or look like methi malai and he dogged us saying we he confirmed with the chef that’s it methi malai. He didn’t even show the courtesy to replace the order or offer any discount. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one

The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our server Andrew made our experience (16 July 2022) even better! He gave great service. Excellent Food and nice décor. I would highly recommend to others and we will definitely be back!

We went for the first time yesterday for supper, and we were mesmerized by the decor, the cleanliness and the ambiance of the restaurant The food was delicious- we had the trio for the appetizer, butter chicken, lamb korma, mutton briani, aloo paratha and bread basket for main & rasmalai for desserts️️. The manager was very kind and made all efforts to make us comfortable and the staff was very attentive to our request. We live 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Calgary but we will definitely go back ️️

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Calgary. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal. Servers and manager are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Calgary.

If you are looking for good Indian food, this is the place! Great staff and service. Food was delicious and very flavorful with huge portions. They have the best butter chicken and cheese naan! This is definitely our go to place for Indian food! ️️️️️

This used to be our goto place if we wanted East Indian, but no more. As soon as we walked in, we were wondering if it had changed ownership. Our table was not wiped down well, dried up sauces were still on the table, there was hair in one of glass of water, and a set of dirty knife and fork with dry food still on them, rolled up in our napkin. The food was lukewarm at best. Very disappointed.

So delicious. Nice decoration. Halal lamb and beef. Generous portions of meat. The taste was amazing. Kind and caring staff. Plan to have a meal with my friends and family. Nice and cozy place.

Order: khorma beef, plain rice and Lamb beriani.

It's a must try place! It's got spot on authentic Indian flavors. Their starters and the main course dishes were all good. Do try the spinach starter which is filled with cream cheese. And their paneer lababdar. We tried their roti basket and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of all breads.

Server was really nice. Papri chat was nice, drinks were decent (couldn't taste any alcohol though), then top flavored for food were: mancharian, malai and biryani. Definently share meals.you don't need a whole order.

This use to be one of my favorite restaurant. I don't like to leave negative review to any business but I feel insulated. My family of 6 people waited half an hour, just so a waiter can give our table to other family who came 20 mins after us. It's fine, people make mistakes, but open realization I didn't see they made any effort to talk to other people. I won't be coming back ever here, tell same to family.

Mild butter chicken is a must if you don't love spicy food, overall from the time i walked in to the time i walked out it was amazing. Beautiful atmosphere friendly service amazing food. By the way there garlic naan is to die for.

Excellent location and atmosphere. The meal was delicious. One of the greatest Indian meals I've ever eaten in Calgary. The rates are also quite fair and well-priced for the quality of the meal. Try their Indian meals; they're delicious. The staff is really nice and polite.

The tamarind is always amazing, never misses, and always had the best food. I recommend this place to everyone because I just can't get enough and I never want them to leave! If you want some of the best Indian food around, please check these folks out!

This is Calgary's number one restaurant and their food is delicious and their staff! Best and clean environment.

A great restaurant for Indian foods. Food quality is awesome, so is the food decoration and their service. I personally can not digest too much spicy foods which most of the Indian restaurants do. This restaurant does provide spicy foods but they are not too much spicy. So, those who do not eat spicy foods regularly will definitely enjoy their food even if you do not tell to lessen/add spices. Environment is clean and decorations of restaurant is good as well. I will recommend this restaurant to the people who like/want to have a delicious and great looking/smelling Indian food. Loved the visit in there.

Tamarind is my favourite Indian restaurant in Calgary. The Fish Pakora and the Bublys Cream Chicken are my favourite two items alongside the Garlic Naan. The portions are also always big and I always have leftovers to bring home for the next day. Amazing restaurant and I would definitely recommend.

I am not a connoisseur of Indian food, but everything was delicious! The taste, the ambiance and the kindness of the staff came together for a wonderful evening with a dear friend. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Not as good quality as it used to be a couple years ago. I don't know if they've changed owners, but the quality of food has gone way down. Watery butter chicken, weird texture to the chicken. Spices are gritty like sand and not fresh. I will not be ordering from here anymore.

The best surprise of our trip. We both agree it is the best Indian food we have had in a long time. The chicken Tikka Masala was flavourful and the naan was the right mix of chewy and crispy. Take the spice level seriously and you won't be disappointed.

Hands down the best Indian food I've had, and I've been to many restaurants and family dinners. If 6 stars was an option, this place would get it!

Absolutely Phenomenal food and service. Warm welcoming staff paired with the delicious aromas of the Indian Fusion gets you hungry before you sit down. The food is next level good.

This is the second time I have eaten here. Amazing! Depth of flavour is so good. The people running and working at this restaurant are very kind. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already.

The food is really good but the quantity is very little for the prices. Also, there was just one lady attending 4 tables and she wasn’t welcoming at all. Didn’t like her service. I would go back for the food but the staff needs to learn to be more welcoming and friendly.

I've come to this place several time and the food and service is excellent! They have the bast garlic naan.

Very nice food and great service and definitely the best tasting samosas I have ever had. The coconut rice, garlic Naan, spinach tikki also amazing.take-out is surprisingly fast, but I highly recommend treating yourself to dine-in atmosphere.

Place is good for dining, service was so good. But the food was not that good. Quantity is less and every item was over cooked and lost its freshness. It looked like the are reheating the sauce again and again for a longtime. Because it lost the color and freshness a gravy should have. Chai was only good in my 100$ bill.

The food was great and the server at our table was very polite and her service was very good. The food was perfect with spice and flavour. We reserved our table and it was already set when we arrived. Do try their pudina paneer, hakka noodles and malai chicken.

Very clean and convenient place. They provide generous portions and for inexpensive rates. We liked the food a lot and the waiters were very friendly and explanatory. I recommend this place for sure.

First time ordering from this place. This place did not disappoint and I understand why they have such a high rating! I ordered take out due to the pandemic, but the food was phenomenal. I found that some places, the quality of food or the taste goes down when ordering take out, but this place did not. My husband and I both really enjoyed the food. We ordered butter chicken, beef curry, bread basket, and the rice. The portions are generous and we have left overs for tomorrow's dinner. We found this place through ubereats app and so glad we did. When I picked up the food, I saw that the interior was very nice for date nights and special occasions. I cannot wait to safely dine in here with my husband!

Love the food. Great Chicken Tikka Masala. This place is great value. I tend to order extra and freeze it. This is my go too place for Indian Food. Definitely come back.

My friend and I are big fans of Indian food and we have tried numerous across the city. We had to order takeout from this location as it was closed due to the COVID-19 situation. It looked really big and well taken care of. The food was beyond amazing and the prices weren’t astronomical.

Tried their takeout butter chicken, beef vindaloo and pap dip chat and it was fabulous! Cooked fresh with amazing flavour.

We had take out order on Christmas Eve from this restaurant and food was excellent, our family was pleased with flavours. Restaurant was very clean and follows all corona guidelines. I would highly recommend.

Awesome food. We always get the shahi paneer & garlic naan and safron rice and it's always delicious. We have been getting this food for a long time and recommend it to anyone that wants to eat good food.

I’m sharing my story in hopes that other people will not have the same experience.

I was a regular customer of this restaurant. I will never come by again after being demeaned and argued with by a staff member over my medical mask exemption. I was polite and calm. I left after being threatened. I only wanted to pick up a take out order, and having a belligerent employee yell in my face and tell me that “it is impossible to be exempt” is completely inappropriate.

During the interaction, the machine did not accept my card, and the server refused to reset the transaction so I could quickly leave. Instead, they stood two feet away and continued to argue about bylaws and masks, demanding my private health information and telling me that I was a liar. I informed him that it is not legal to demand that information from customers, and he threatened me, so I left immediately.

I have multiple credit cards and often have troubles with my MasterCard, so no, I was not angry that the machine didn’t process the payment, as the owner stated. It’s no big deal, and my order was only $8.

I will never order from this restaurant again, or dine in, like I have done so many times. It was good while it lasted, but this behaviour is too far. Have respect for your customers.

Research the local medical mask exemption laws and ensure that you are not violating human rights. There is no reason to demean the same people financially supporting you through the lockdown, especially when they have disabilities.

Edit: After posting my review, suddenly they had a spike of positive reviews from that same day, insulting me and saying that the negative reviews are fake. Something to think about.

I am shocked that after 2 years of visiting this restaurant, the owner and their staff turned out to be dishonest, rude, and discriminatory.

We ordered takeout during the covid crisis and it was all really excellent. We always love Tamarind. This takeout was especially good, Highly recommended!

We had onion bhajis, chicken tikka and a chicken tikka masala. All in huge portions (we took some to go), all were super tasty but the stand out was definitely the chicken tikka pieces. This was a starter portion but could easily have been a main meal- huge chunks of chicken in the most beautiful spices. The server asked us how spicy we wanted the chicken which we thought was a nice touch. We went for medium spice but this was still very spicy but we like heat so suited us fine.

Wow! SO delicious! Some of the best Indian food I've had and definitely will order again!
I was worried about portion sizes being too small for my partner and I, however we ordered the butter chicken, aloo gobi, rice and naan and we have leftovers!

Came here after long time. They have managed to.keep quality and service well but need some change in menu. Had Madras Chicken and Kerala Fish curry.both were good

I am giving 1 star because i cant give zero otherwise itwould be zero today for sure. The worst biryani i have ever tasted. Chetinand chicken was even worse. I would definately say that they dont know whats the receipe for food is chetrinand chicken tasted like any daal with added coconut. And was tasteless and less salt.
I have tried to eat at this place last year around diwali was bad. I thought to give one more chance again buts this time it got even worse.
I am not sure what words should i use since i didn't eat my whole order and had to toss it.

The restaurant has a pleasant modern decor with a hint of India. Our server was very polite. The food was really good and will definitely be going back. I recommend an appetizer called spinach tikki.

Ordered off skip the dishes from these guys, and I was not disappointed! Their Naan is some of the best I've ever had, I always find that an Indian restaurant can be judged on the quality of their Naan, and this stuff was awesome. I ordered the beef rogan Josh, once again one of the best I've ever had. The beef was extremely tender, and it was perfectly spicy without being too crazy. I also ordered the coconut chicken which was perfectly mild and sweet, once again the chicken was so tender. Started off with an order of pakoras which were a lovely starter, but almost unnecessary due to the portion sizes. Lots of meat, and lots of curry to sop up with your Naan (order extra, trust me). The restaurant looked very nice and modern, and I really want to dine in here. I look forward to trying more!

Excellent indian dishes that I had from Tamarind. The service at Tamarind were also the best. The unique tastes of the dishes and services that i received from this restaurant makes me to visit Tamarind again.

LOVED this place. 1st night in Calgary we tried it and with half our group from Vancouver they enjoyed this authentic Indian restaurant a lot! Amazing service, great fresh food, large portions.
We grabbed an order to take back home to Edmonton!
