I have been going here for a couple years now for their lunch buffet. It is my go to for a solid delicious meal. Staples like the butter chicken are always amazing and their naan is fantastic. Friendly staff, calm atmosphere and great food are what I enjoy here.

Food is always delicious but holy man, are the portions small. $90 didn't feed my family of 4.

They brought out fresh Naan and I needed to leave a review. Amazing food and very flavorful but not to spicy it was great and my family loved it.

We were really looking forward to a good experience all around, based on previous reviews. However we soon realized after we got there it was not gonna be a good experience the way the server approached us, and I’m thinking it was the owner, but not sure. His mannerism was not very friendly. Another server brought our food out and he was not friendly at all, he was very abrupt, and we mentioned our experience with the washroom, and all he said was he is not the owner, and if he was the owner he would not have that problem. We tried to use the restroom and one was completely out of order, and essentially there was another table of large group, all waiting to use one washroom. Washroom was dirty, no toilet paper or paper towels. The food was not that great as was previously mentioned in other reviews. Would not go again.

Had dinner here with my wife June 2023. I had chicken kadahi my wife had chicken Rogan Josh with saffron rice garlic Nan and papadums. I am always reluctant going to Indian restaurants in Canada as every one I have been in until now have been disappointing. However the food here was very good. The kadahi was excellent very tasty and was much better than I have come to expect in Canada. The Rogan Josh was also very good although not quite what I would expect for the dish as I would have expected it to be more tomato'ey, that said was still very good. The sundries we had were also very good. Restaurant was quiet when we visited and service was great. We will definitely be back.

Food was absolutely delicious. If you want an authentic Indian food experience, this is your place. We ordered the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again! Had to give 4 stars because our menus needed a good wipe and the bathroom was kinda icky. However, I would highly recommend, based solely on the food and good service. We will be back!

First of all, the first impression of this place is disgusting, the women’s bathroom was out of service and had to use the men’s which was filthy. The utensils were exposed on the counter and the women working there picked up Utensils for our table with her dirty hands. After we finished our food, the waiter asked us if we wanted a box for the left overs, we said no, and he was upset because he told us he doesn’t like throwing food away… we asked for Kulfi and we got the store bought ones in the freezer with the wrapper. Told the waiter we didn’t want that, we wanted fresh ones, he said they don’t have it and threw it back in the freezer. Very very rude staff. The container he came with to pick up the dirty dishes was filthy with black mold in the entire container. Gross place to eat, they should definitely go through a thorough inspection of the kitchen.would never go beck there again!

I am travelling here from Vancouver. I must say the food was fantastic.i ordered their tikka’s they were juicy soft and delicious.i highly recommend them.

A few years since we were here, decided to try it again, and was pleasantly surprised. The food was incredible, and we had a fantastic dinner out. The Peas Pulau rice looks and tastes amazing, and they have possibly the best chana masala I've had.

My boys don’t like very much but we’re raving about the service, how he took the time to explain the menu and what would pair well with the dishes they picked, and how amazing the food tastes! Thanks so much for the wonderful experience!

Went to this place for supper on November 6th of 2022with my two good friends Ian and Penny when I was stopping through town on the way from Edmonton to Calgary. What a wonderful place! Absolutely delicious food, friendly staff, reasonably priced, lots of character, unique and interesting background music, all around wicked experience. Thanks guys!

OMG! “Tandoor and Flame” one of the best restaurant I have ever visited. Their Paneer tikka masala, chicken biryaani, garlic naan, bhindi masala, rayta, yellow daal, indian style masala tea………. Everything is so delicious. Also very well presented food and very friendly staff.

The food is very nice and quickly brought after ordering…took our instructions carefully and prepared hot chat and biryani, peas pulao according to the spice level we wanted…

They are great there. They took the time to explain different dishes on the menu, made suggestions, and gave us an awesome experience. The food had great flavours and plentiful. We would recommend going there and experience what we did. The have a lunch buffet everyday but Sunday. We are going back to try that our very soon

Never order mango shake… was like crushed ice… Manchurian wasn’t crispy. And curry was ok ok…. Bit expensive than other restaurants but didn’t get quality that I was expecting.

Great Indian restaurant to eat, variety of food in menu, and very delicious! I enjoyed Tikka Masala curry a lot along with tasty freshly baked naan breads and Saffron rice. Lamb Palak (spinach) curry and Butter chicken curry were also great. I definitely want to come back again to try out more Indian foods!

Astounding food and service. Our server was personally familiar with all the dishes and offered fantastic recommendations. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The ambience in the restaurant was also very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience in this wonderful establishment.

On the weekend, we all got together, and I ordered chicken biriyani for everyone from this place.    The owner was kind and rang me up at the correct time to pick up. Not only did everyone rave about how delicious the biriyani was, but they also claimed it was cooked to perfection.

I ordered delivery. The checkout page did not include any fee for delivery. When I checked out, I got charged a different amount.that included a delivery fee. They charged me a delivery fee, but told the driver that she would have to collect from me. They claim this was a mistake but my driver said they were refusing to pay her and they refused to fix the delivery charge mistake.

Also be aware that the tip goes to pay the kitchen staff and does not go to the driver. To be fair, the order page does not say where the tip goes.

I agree with other reviewers that the food quality was much poorer for this order.

I've updated this review to reflect my recent experience (takeout) because the buffet is not currently being served (and my review was many years ago).

Oct 2021: We ordered takeout last night for my wife's birthday, and everything was AMAZING. We did 5 dishes plus samosas, rice and garlic naan, and everything was delicious and fresh!

Quality and quantity were excellent, and even my two kids tried (and enjoyed) everything that we ordered. We all love spicy food, and agreed that ordering everything MEDIUM spicy was plenty hot for us; if you are unsure about how spicy you can handle, then just go with the MILD. Like I said, we LOVE heat.and medium was great.

We've never had a bad experience with this restaurant (food or service), and really hope that people continue to support them through this difficult time.

They've also recently setup their own food app for ordering, due to the high percentage that services like Skip and Doordash take off of the top of the bill. Please consider ordering directly from them (or use their app) rather than one of the other services and lets make sure that we can continue to enjoy this great food for many years to come.

Great food, we tried most of Indian restaurants in Red Deer & never get satisfied ever but finally we tried this restaurant food other day & believe me it was delicious, perfectly cooked. Thanks team.

This is my favorite restaurant for Indian food!
The food is always wonderful, and if I am unsure, the staff and owners give the best pairings. The staff are knowledgeable, the food is always quick and fresh.

I was there on Fri Nov 5th and ordered Lamb Masala and Butter Chicken with Garlic Naans. The taste was amazing - hot and very flavorful. Highly recommend this place. Definitely going back!

Soooooo good. I recommend in particular the Palak Paneer, and the Rogan Josh. Amazing. Friendly and quite funny on the phone when taking my pick-up orders.

Ordered delivery very small dish portions. Aloo gobi didn't taste very flavourful, okra dish very small, garlic naan good.

I wish i can gave zero stars to this place, we ordered quite a bit of food & all of it was precooked like a day before, chicken kabab was same like cooked days before & than reheated & served, first kabab was burnt than sent back & was tolded what’s wrong with it than got the kebab again & its same burnt & feels like rubber, even they can’t get their salad correct as salad had spoiled green chilli, dal makhni was watery, chilli paneer had old coocked paneer which was just heated & than poured into hot gravy & served
Waiter said sorry for the food but the arogant cook won’t stop praising himself of how good he cook
For his kind information i told him cook a fresh sekh kebab & than cook one of his regular old reheated sekh kebab than eat both feel the difference
Stay away from this place it only has indian/punjabi food but not the taste or quality as other restaurants have

We just had amazing food here. Everything was great. Chilli chicken, Kadhai chicken, Dal, Bhartha, Salad, Garlic Naan everything was great. Going by the wordings of the last review, it definitely seems motivated.

Don't go here. Bad service. The restaurant was nearly empty. There were two waiters on staff. We waited about 10 minutes for water then at least another 10 for anyone to check if we were ready to order. They seemed to be much more concerned with skip the dishes orders than customers who were in the restaurant. The waiter apologized profusely but kept up the bad service. The waiter carried water jugs around the place yet no one refilled our water. He brought our plates with his hand covered in curry and left a stain on the napkins and plates, and we had to ask for new plates and cutlery. The next plate I got had the same small curry stain on the edge. The food was decent but not worth the visit.

Great food, Good Service. Very pleased with our meal. Took our left overs home and had for lunch. The butter chicken is delicious with just the right amount of kick. Yumm!

A very good place for a craving stomach. Go there grab some bite. You'll gonna love it for sure.

**The Worst Customer Service Ever**

I had placed a Skip order. It had items missing and the food was not prepared up to standards. (I can assure this because I have always ordered the same item everytime). I raised my concerns with Skip the dishes and they refunded my money.
The next day, this very agitated lady calls me and starts shouting at me on phone. Instead of addressing my concerns, she very rudely implies that I am only trying to rip them off of money just because they are an Indian restaurant. She hung up on me by saying that I should never order here again.
I've liked their food in the past, and that's why my order was always the same. But this time, I am very disappointed with their food AND more so with their behavior, their way of handling customer concerns.
I am noticing this pattern in the reviews below. They call their customers who had complaints, and talk rudely with them, and tell them never to order here again.
If this is what you want.this is exactly what you'll get.

Great tasting food. Appreciated thecwaiter going in depth about each food we asked about and which food would taste best with Naan or rice. Definitely would revisit!

The food we ordered was delicious but I was surprised and disappointed at just how small the portions are. I am a very small eater and I have never eaten a full meal before but easily did with the small portions they serve.

Update: may17, another fantastic 5 star culinary delight, march 19/, yet another 5 star sit down lunch at Tandoor n flame, the vegetable pakora is top shelf, its simply the best, butter naan, mushroom mattar, mango chicken, Palou rice, top end service, worth the hour drive just to come here.feb 28th /another 10 stars if there was.considerate, polite and engaging conversation. Our monthly date-night over the past two years finds us being treated to superb cuisine at Tandoor N Flame.yes, we enjoy other Indian restaurants while weekending in banff, calgary, edmonton. But we both feel that Tandoor N Flame in Red Deer is the benchmark.our last date-night we called in and requested an appetizer that wasnt on the regular menu, it was simply insanely good! The smell, handmade, homemade, minutes fresh and oh so good.i wont say what it was, because it isnt popular.thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

On my way to Edmonton stop at red deer for food at Tandoor N Flame. Food was excellent and customer service was also good. I will go back to this resturant next time I am in Red deer.
