Disappointing Experience at TD Canada Trust, Beaumont Branch

I recently had an appointment at the TD Canada Trust branch in Beaumont, Alberta, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience.

Despite arriving promptly for my 9: 00 am appointment, I was made to wait in the locked vestibule until 9: 03 am, when the teller finally unlocked the door. Upon entering, I informed the teller about my scheduled appointment but was merely directed to take a seat. The wait continued until 9: 07 am when the person I was supposed to meet finally arrived.

The initial interaction lacked even basic courtesy. The representative failed to introduce themselves and instead abruptly requested my ID. When I sought information about an RRSP loan, a topic I had researched thoroughly beforehand, the representative derailed the conversation by explaining generic RRSP withdrawal methods. It was evident that my specific query was disregarded or not understood.

Feeling utterly frustrated and realizing my time was being wasted, I politely ended the meeting, expressing my intention to explore other avenues. Returning home, I couldn't shake off the sense of disappointment at the lack of professionalism and customer care.

To compound matters, the representative later called to offer assistance after consulting the "back office. " While the gesture was appreciated, it highlighted the initial lack of preparedness and disregard for my time during the in-person meeting.

Customer service should be the cornerstone of any business, but unfortunately, it seemed sorely lacking in this instance. Basic etiquettes such as a warm greeting, introductions, and acknowledgment of the customer's time were entirely absent. Moreover, the representative's failure to grasp my query reflected a lack of listening skills, a fundamental aspect of effective client engagement.

In conclusion, my experience at TD Canada Trust in Beaumont was not only unproductive but also disheartening. Businesses must prioritize cultivating a customer-centric approach, emphasizing not just product knowledge but also interpersonal skills and active listening to ensure clients' needs are understood and met.

Worst TD branch we have dealt within 30 years of dealing with TD. Been with the Beaumont branch now for 15 years (with both our personal accounts as well as business accounts) and every year it seems to get worse. They don't answer calls.you need to go into the branch just to make an appointment to meet with anyone and most times you are sent away to come back at a later time/another day. They ask you personal questions anytime you need to deposit or withdraw money at the tellers (how long have you worked here? Have you deposited these checks here before? - this one is always laughable because I've been depositing the same employer's checks here for 13 years now!). It's like you're in an interrogation at times. They give you grief when trying to pull cash amounts as small as $3,000.00 from your account.and good god.don't ask for $5,000 or more or they'll have you wait a day or two before they will give it to you or they'll try to make YOU pay for a Bank Draft because THEY don't have YOUR saved funds at hand when you need them! The staff/manager turnover at this branch is astronomical. Some days there may be a line-up and they'll have one teller working while another is sitting at a desk behind the teller-bench (instead of helping to clear the customers). At this bank.you are not treated like a "customer". If you were, they would be working on YOUR time. If it was not such an inconvenience to drive to TD in Leduc, Sherwood Park or Wetaskiwin. I would! The service at these branches runs circles around the Beaumont branch!

I had a great experience at this bank today thanks to Brahmjit. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about my account. I appreciate his patience and willingness to answer all of my questions. I highly recommend this bank and their staff!

The staff here are great. Always have been. I've been using this branch for 10 years.

I came into TD in Beaumont on the weekend to get a bank card and account summary. I was told that they only had my maiden name on file, even though I insisted it had been changed with the bank. Because I did not have my marriage certificate plus 2 types of government ID they could not verify my identity. I returned a week later armed with a stack of legal documents to change my name. Suddenly when I gave my driver's license my name was correct in the system and I didn't need to change my name at all.

Default is to not investigate when a customer tries to explain their situation and it always seems to take multiple visits for no good reason to get things done.

I was at the branch today to get 3 drafts completed. Elle was my customer service representative, she completed them very quickly and in a friendly and competent manner. I was expecting to be there atleast half and hour but she was very efficient and got me out of there much faster than I expected. You can tell she has been doing this for a while. All the other staff I have dealt with at the Beaumont Branch have been excellent as well. Keep up the good work Elle and the rest of the branch!
