TL/DR Stunning incompetence on power of attorney invocation.

I have been fighting for 3 ½ months to have power of attorney (POA) authorized on my dad’s account who sadly has succumbed to dementia and is living in memory care facility. The first agent I dealt with had me sign, and submit all required forms to initiate the POA process. About two weeks later, I started to inquire about status and timing, after I had left repeated messages, I finally got a call, and got nothing but incoherent excuses as to why the POA had not been initiated. Then after two weeks of leaving repeated messages, all unanswered, we booked a telephone appointment. When the agent was still unable to provide any kind of answer or solution, We asked for their manager to look into the matter, they actually returned phone calls but after three months since first providing documents they informed me that there was now a POA note on the TD accounts which I already held jointly. But that the TD Waterhouse and direct investment accounts had not been included and that we would have to start the process over in its entirety.

We would rate zero for this branch. This is the worst one that we had dealt with for years. The front line staffs are untrained and have no knowledge about " knowing customers". The root problem came from their top management people who has no willing to know and help long-term credited business clients and always fools and lies about bank policy, therefore the professional determination/judgement and services are definitely not applied in this branch. In addition, there is no apology when their staff made mistakes.

Worst experience and totally waste of 60min of time. Only thing the advisor said during the appointment is call the 800 number they should be able to help you. The question is why pushing your customer to setup a in person appointment while the authority from the 800 number is way higher than the branch? Very disappointing

Incredibly slow location. There are over 8 customer service counters available, and with a line of 10 people and growing growing, they only opened 4 of them. Waited in line over 10 minutes and it didn’t move at all.

Made an appointment got canceled out of nowhere last minute now cause of it after to borrow money, a few weeks prior made an appointment they never called. Lost 2 days wages after account was hacked took 9 hours to get a new card features were not all available. So frustrating

I’ve almost always had good experiences at this branch and with the people that work here. I’m not a huge fan overtly how TD is Ontario owned and seems to lean left politically, but as far as big banks go it hasn’t been worth my time to energy to shift and the service at all branches is usually good

Really bad experience with TD, and particularly this branch. I was provided misleading and false information by the branch about a promotion offer to open a TD visa credit card. I opened the credit card accordingly and used it for a few months, but did not receive the promised promotion. I called TD credit card line to inquire about this and was advised that this is a branch mistake that the branch should resolve. I visited the branch twice on this issue and was told that the branch will follow up with me. Did not receive any follow ups, so I called the branch only to be told in a demeaning manner that the issue is “not a pressing”, which is why I haven’t been contacted, the branch cannot do anything and that the matter should be resolved with TD credit cards and that the promotion does not exist when it is advertised on the TD website and was promoted at the branch! What I found mind-blowing is the remark that this TD branch doesn’t have what would be considered basic information about TD credit cards (and hence I should contact the credit card line), when they are advertising and promoting it to their customers. What a complete waste of time to keep your customer going in circles because you don’t understand the product you are selling! And how unethical it is to falsely promote your products to your customers to boost your sales? ! It’s not about the promotion, but the principal! There is no transparency and accountability to the customer, and I have been with TD for several years. Extremely disappointed.

Td needs to pay serious attention to the reviews here as this branch is the worst! 2 appointments to get my kids resp transferred over from another bank and they couldn't do it! First time, the guy quit but we weren't informed. Second person, Bennet, looked like didn't know what he was doing. Went to CIBC

Says open 7 days a week and they're closed on Sunday! Only 1 of the drive thru ATM's work and that one doesn't accept cash deposits!

Finally closed my account of over 10 years! Mortgage was closed out too Awhile back.
I looked for an email or a feedback form but could not find one so I am posting here. The only reason for closing my account was because of the media coverage of a recorded meeting where social justice managers told employees to NOT vote for conservatives.
I am conservative. So why would I stay with a bank that thinks it their business to sway personal politics with their employees. Anyways, bye.

41 MINUTES! That's how long I have been trying to call the Crowfoot branch. I have followed the voice direction and no one answers. The call goes into limbo with "on-hold" music but nothing happens, yet we have to pay user fees like there's no tomorrow and Banks post record profits every year. NO SERVICE! NO REGARD FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Worst bank ever! Only bank I’ve ever been to that has many people behind the counters, but only one or two are actually helping people. One keeps walking around with a laptop in hand asking people what they need to only tell you that you have to wait in line. Line ups are always gigante. This branch should care more about their customers.

The financial advisor lied to me in order for me to agree to a transaction that benefited the bank at my expense.
The manager backed the financial advisor. Stay away from transactions at this branch.

Delighted to had a lovely experience at this TD branch. Mrs. Sedi treated me very kindly when I wanted to deposit my cash. She was quite welcoming and understanding. Actually, I found an issue counting my money, however Mrs. Sedi patiently tried to help me out with that. As a newcomer, I’m very happy to have opened my first bank account at TD Bank and especially at this branch. You're doing a great job!

Always have loved TD bank. Associate took us in without and appointment and set up multiple accounts. This branch is fantastic.
When you go to a bank expect to be waiting, you're not special. Things take time at banks.

I have now been disappointed in both the business and personal side of TD. I went to deposit cheques in the business line there was another business customer in front of me. The business teller took a customer in the regular line (who she clearly knew) ahead of us. I thought okay fine the regular teller will take us next. She did not she only continued with the personal line. When I asked the teller about it and told them my frustration KSHAMA RAMADA the one who had her friend go ahead of us told me that I was not in line and that she told the guy in front of me the other teller would help them. A simple sorry would have sufficed instead of fighting the customer and telling them they are wrong. Personally I applied for a loan JOSEPH was dealing with me this was months ago I followed up about the loan and still have not heard back (6 months). I saw him at the bank today so not sure why he never processed my application or returned my inquiries as to where we were at.

Nabamita was knowledgeable and efficient throughout the process of getting my credit card. She also gave me helpful advices such as emphasizing on the importance of being mindful of my financial decisions and the importance of taking advantage of opportunities that I am going to have esepecially at a young age. I appreciate her honesty and passion helping a customer like me.

March 24th update: Read the replies to other posts. It's a generic lie IDENTICAL to all other replies. This is beyond comprehension and the embodiment of cold indifference.

Still no update to our issue.
We will involve the provincial watchdogs today.

March 22nd update.

Empty promises left and right.

Its now over 4 weeks and 1 certified cheque is still not cashed.

Mr. Gonzalez from "Customer Experience and Investment" promised us reply if after 10 days our certified cheques are not deposited. We emailed and called to no result.

We NEVER RECEIVED ANY GONZALEZ REPLY. EVER.
A true liar.

Empty promises, we are deeply disappointed from this unprofessional behaviour.

It is now since February 24 with no response. Going there did not yield any response either. The only person to try to help is the assistant manager. No result so far.

I want to share my recent poor experience at TD Branch (Crowfoot, Calgary location) last January 4,2022. We went there to pay lumpsum payment to close our mortgage. It was supposed to be a milestone and an exciting experience for us. Instead, the opposite is true.
Prior to closing our mortgage, the TD Mortgage hotline assured us that we won't be penalized for closing our mortgage early since our closing amount would be below the prepayment allowable limit. Surprisingly, we were penalized and therefore had to disappointedly write the cheque for this.
After looking into it further and contacting TD on multiple occasions as well as re-visiting our main branch a few times; we eventually learned that Nathan, the staff at the Crawfoot branch should have made the lumpsum payment first PRIOR to closing the mortgage to avoid having us to pay the penalty.
Ultimately, this entire experience costed us time, money, stress, and headache for trying to sort this out. This frustrating orderal should have all been avoided if the transaction was done properly by a competent staff. Having said that, I do acknowledge that people do sometimes make mistakes. However, it is unacceptable for the branch not to correct said mistake, let alone acknowledge it.
We were planning to buy investment with TD but because of this experience, we are now second guessing whether to trust TD with our hard-earned money. We felt like being ripped off and disregarded.
This experience was supposed to be memorable because this is an exciting milestone, instead it has become memorable for other reasons. It is my hope that this branch attend to this issue and make the appropriate corrections on or before Friday, January 14,2022, otherwise, I certainly would look into escalating this issue further.
I will update this review with respect to outcome and how they correct this.

REVIEW UPDATE
I am rereviewing TD Crowfoot as they fix their mistake and refund us the penalty that we were charge. I am giving them a 4 star because it took many emails and phone calls before we were able to sort it out. But the most important of all with this experience for me is the fact that they made the correction and own up for the mistake on their end.

When I went to the branch, I was told that I have been pre-approved for a product and I have one they for getting it. They booked and appointment for the day after. On that day, they called me and said that the appointment booked by mistake. I tried to reach the branch but couldn't. It took 30 minutes to speak a human being. It seems that TD Crowfoot branch doesn't need any customers because they don't care for customers. Lesson learned. I will immediately change my bank.

I've had an application open for 5 months with TD Crowfoot and they can't respond to any emails, or multiple messages left with their reception. I've now been trying to call and each time someone answers and puts me directly on hold. I've been waiting in excess of 10 mins each time and then when I try to call again they just put me directly on hold. Not even a "Hello may we put you on hold". I've banked with TD for over 25 years and this is by far the worst service I've ever had.

Really disappointed about the service they provided. I opened a RESP account and the financial advisor didn't entered the account details properly. Transactions did not occur for 3 months until I called them and corrected it. Really frustrated that they couldn't get 11 digits right.

Second incident was regarding opening an chequing account. They told me about an expired promotion and without knowing that it has been expired. Booked me in for an appointment just to let me know that the promotion has been expired and went on talking about my other investment options. Such a waste of time.

Don't bother to email to TD. They never got back.

It is concerning how inconsistent this specific Branch is with identification verification when it comes to cash withdrawals for small business accounts. Sometimes I am able to withdrawal cash with just my debit inserted and pin verification at the teller and sometimes I am asked to provide my ID after my card and PIN has been verified. TD should be more consistent with their small business account verification process when it comes to clients' cash withdrawals. It is very concerning when some tellers ask for identification and others do not. This is after all a major bank that handles clients' personal financial information, why is the ID verification different every time I make a visit here to withdrawal cash from my business account? Contacted a manager and left a message regarding my concern with no call back.also concerning.

They can't even do the very basics: schedule appointments, or have staff with the very basics of how to fill out paperwork. I have visited the bank 3 times, seen various managers, tellers, and I still don't have online access to my business account, the 3rd meeting being to most ridiculous because they LOST MY APPOINTMENT!

If you have $5 or $5 billion, would you trust an bank that can't even schedule an appointment? !? At this point I'm not even asking for good customer service, I'm asking if this business can even operate in the most rudimentary level.

I called TD Banking on the direct line from my mobile app and as you can see I waited up to 1 HOUR and nobody answered my call.and that is the faster line!
I called the branch to book an appointment and the receptionist said she cannot because their appointment system is down and I need to call tomorrow to see if it’s fixed because she cannot keep my request (too much work to take a note ‍️?).
All of this troubles because since JULY 2020 (so more than 6 months!) they do NOT transfer my RESP investment from this bank to another! I’m really disappointed

Td isn't a terrible bank to deal with, but this location is terrible. I stopped coming to this location around 15 years ago, my account in theory is still at this branch, but this location is like a Mill, you're just a number. Td should really do something about this locations service standards. Maybe open up another branch a block away from here and make them compete against each other, otherwise people are just going to bank at the competition.

Was with TD for over a decade. I run a small business which I operate as a sole proprietor and thus only need a personal chequing account. I had a cheque in USD from an American client that I couldn't mobile deposit, so I went into my home branch and they told me since it was made out to my company and not to myself that they wouldn't deposit it unless I opened a business account, despite for years now regularly mobile depositing cheques made out to my company without a hiccup. They offered no explanation, and this stuck up teller by the name of EunJung and her self righteous manager were so unbelievably condescending and rude about it. I don't suggest banking here, and if you absolutely have to then don't show up in work clothes and look like you actually work for a living because clearly these bank tellers think they are something more important than the rest of us. I am going to be switching banks, not so much over the personal/business account thing but more so because of how they treated a blue collar guy in work clothes.

EDIT: Within less than 2 weeks of taking my banking elsewhere, and closing my unused Visa and LOC with TD, I got a phone call from the manager of this branch, basically asking about suspicious transactions, AKA cheques made out to my company going into my personal chequing account. So, a sole proprietor of a registered company with a GST number which is not incorporated signs cheques over to himself and deposits into his personal chequing account. Big deal. Not illegal at all. It's really interesting how that was never an issue for as long as mobile deposit has been around- until I decided to bank elsewhere. There was even mention of cash withdrawals I had made that were under $9999 (to go deposit into my new account at a different bank) so totally offside and illegal to even look twice at those transactions since 10k and up meets the legal threshold for Fintrac to be made aware of the transaction. I called the manager out on the timing of all of this, and even mentioned that I left a review and he dismissed it as a pure coincidence. I mean, if you can't trust a bank who can you trust, right? After all, they got your best interest in mind! Curious to see what happens next. He said it was basically a warning. I guess we'll see. In the meantime this whole thing just doesn't sit right with me. I cannot recommend TD Bank, especially not this branch.

Went in on a Saturday to solve a problem.manager was not taking in what I was saying and in a round about way Shushed me.more than one one. I finally had to tell her to listen.very poor customer service it must be the teller management course these people are sent on.have yet to have a pleasant experience with a TD teller manager

The receptionist was rude and the managers just stood there having coffee while a long line up with only 2 tellers working! Terrible branch! I am a customer of 30 years and never disappointed by TD service except this time! Sad!

Made an appointment with an Adviser named Melissa via email for 5pm on Tuesday.
Get there found out after waiting 30 min that she leaves at 430 on Tuesdays and was no longer there. Then when the office tried to contact her, the adviser told me (and the poor receptionist who had to deal with this) that it was MY FAULT for the mix up because even though my email from her said 5pm on Tuesday and I responded that the time worked for me I didnt wait for a second confirmation email from her.

I felt very disrespected in this instance, and am still debating if I want to stay with TD now.

Today, the staff at TD crowfoot were intent on getting my student daughter trapped in a credit card she can't afford.

Even trying to get her to do it separately when we made it clear it was a no.

Clearly we know where their bonuses come from. SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOUR!

This bank has the worst customers service. Melissa Mengyao Liu (small business accounts) setup a business account for one of my businesses. She failed to listen to the requests of what i wanted and incorrectly setup the account. I tried for two weeks to correct the issue and she failed to assist. I was then directed to another TD business manager and they fail to assist. It has been a month and i'm still waiting. I would avoid this branch.

I went there on April 7th to open a self investment RESP account. The gentleman did a half baked work which took 11 days for my RESP account to be appeared on my web account. And the suffering has not ended there, I have just found out that I need a Self Investment account to do any trading and I need to see the bank again to do that! Why the person did not create the self investment broker account at the same time! Such a waste of time and prolong waiting. I am going to move everything from TD to some other institution.

My Financial Advisor at TD, Randy Fong, has been super helpful. Always taking the time to explain the different investment vehicles and funds and following up at critical times. He has also provided introductions to mortgage experts etc which will be beneficial in the future. I would recommend TD Wealth Planning and especially Randy to anyone who is looking for an advisor.

Called to speak to a representative I had set up and auto withdraw with. The withdrawal did not work. Gentleman who answered the phone was entirely incompetent and could not even transfer me to the representative I was asking for. Not even to his voicemail. Do not recommend. Moving my financial dealings with this branch and most likely TD asap!

Like others have stated, if I could give anything less than 1 star, I would. Impossible to get a hold of the branch. I have left numerous messages, yet never received a response. TD Easyline tried to call the branch on my behalf, they also failed. Email the branch rep I has met with this morning, I got an out of office reply from his email that he is out of office till yesterday (?). This branch doesn't seem to want to field any calls. A simple question that any other bank (including other TD branches) could answer over the phone requires an appointment at this particular branch. Only way to describe the so-called "top-notch" service of THIS particular branch is trash.
