As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is wonderful, beautiful decor and welcoming and comfortable. Ms. Kate Powell was so caring, and helpful and she explained everything we needed to know.

Kate was really impressive, with my dad, who was a little skeptical at first. He was going to a different aid clinic who did not show anything that Kate was able to show him. Not only did Kate help my dad, but she also helped mom! I would recommend her to anyone you care about, because she will show care and compassion for them.

Just moved to Edmonton from Calgary. Have an older Resound hearing aid (over 5 years), need to replace a dangling receiver. Kate was very helpful doing so, spent an hour with me explaining the unit and re-calibrating it. The most professional and patience hearing aid specialist ever. To top it up, it was free.

In the interests of full disclosure, I am not a patient of The 44 Sounds, have never purchased anything from them nor even visited their office. That may seem like a strange way to begin a recommendation but, please read on.

Our paths crossed when one of my hearing aids had a problem. The technician at the local branch of the nation wide audio store where I originally made my purchase told me my hearing aids were too ancient (6 years old) to be fixed. I was skeptical. Was this the straight goods or a money grab?

I reached out to several clinics around the province offering hearing aid repair services for a second opinion. Two replied. One was Kate Powell of The 44 Sounds. Thanks to her skill and dogged determination, she was able to uncover the make and model of my hearing aids, contact the manufacturer and learn that repairs were indeed no longer possible. I have no idea how much time and effort this took but I suspect it was considerable, all the while knowing that I was unlikely to become a client as I live just outside Calgary and Kate is located in Edmonton.

Kate then went on to give me a lot of great advice on things to look for when choosing a hearing clinic, stressing that hearing aids alone were just one part of the solution. Skilled and knowledgeable staff members plus appropriate equipment were just as important.

I can not thank Kate enough for all the time and effort she expended researching my problem and answering my questions. If this is the level of service she provides to random stranger, I can only imagine the level of care she gives her actual patients. They must be a very fortune group indeed. So much so that I am considering the three hour drive north to become one.

Attended the 44 sounds hearing aid centre in March 2023. Looking for a great hearing aid centre look no further. Kate is extremely passionate about her business and this is clearly shown by the high quality of care shown to her patients. She takes time to address her patients needs and answer all questions and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
The testing is very thorough and if hearing aids are in fact required Kate is very knowledgeable and can advise on the options available and assist to make sure you obtain what is best for your situation. Thank you for the terrific care.

This is my first time wearing hearing aids, cant beleave the beautiful sounds I be messing, if you have problem hearing call 44 sounds, I am 65 year old no good with any kind of device by the time had my second apt I understand how to use them becaus she took time to explain it to me and makes more than 1,2, thank you

Needed a hearing test done right away and this is the only clinic open on Saturdays.
The space was clean, welcoming and the care was above and beyond.
I will definitely be making this my go-to clinic and recommending to friends/family.

Great service, Kate is very knowledgeable. I was able to have my hearing tested at the Mill Woods Seniors Center. I was a walk-in at the Centre. I had been planning for the last few years to have the test but the convenience of on site testing spurred me on. Kate has fully tested both my ears developed a plan to help me improve my hearing. She helped implement the plan and has since programmed and recalibrating my hearing aids, several times. I highly recommend seeing her if you suspect any hearing loss.

Kate was very professional and friendly. Environment inside the clinic was soothing, comfortable with a lot of sitting area and cleanliness was 10/10.
She explained thoroughly about each test she would be doing and what to expect. All the tests were done in a timely manner and she explained the results of every test thoroughly and answered all the questions I have. At last, the results were emailed to me at my request and hardcopy was also given for convenience. Fees was very nominal.
They were the only one who were OPEN ON SATURDAY as well.
I would recommend this place to anyone for all their hearing needs and pre employment audiometric testing.

I went in for the requirement of needing a hearing evaluation for a job application.

She walked me through it and I had no idea what I was doing. She gave me very valuable information about the ear and it’s parts and was also so polite during the evaluation. Got through the testing no problem.

This place is great for younger people who need to get their hearing tested. I highly recommend going to this location!

Service was complete and professional. I learned a lot about modern hearing aids. Completely not what I thought. There are so many settings that you can control with your smart phone. I am still new to my hearing aids, but it is exciting to be able to hear sounds that I struggled to hear only a few days ago. Great place all round including great prices.

Thanks to Kate at the 44 sounds hearing aid clinic I can finally after years of not hearing I can hear things, like my cat purring the dishwasher makes a wonderful sound when it's running. I have had hearing loss from the age of 15 and was told by many audiologists and hearing aid clinics that they can do nothing for me. Kate was the only one that took on the challenge and wanted to do the work and analysis to see what could support me in finding an appropriate solution. We tried two types of hearing systems, and after three consults to fine tune the hearing aids, my experience is life altering.
I am not struggling to hear dialogue and conversations at work or with family and friends. The cross system allows me to hear others while in a vehicle and I am not afraid or uncomfortable to go into a crowded room anymore.
Her ability to fine tune my hearing aid system and supporting me with the various programs on the phone app, Helps me further fine tune my hearing aid system for the various situations I may find myself in.
I am forever thankful that she took on the challenge as no one previously wanted to deal with someone who had Meniere’s Disease. I even have directional sound location again, which makes life a lot easier.
People take their hearing for granted and do not comprehend the struggle hearing loss causes in ones life.

I have never had such an in-depth and comprehensive hearing test in my life. Katherine was extremely knowledgeable and explained things in such a clear manner that provided me with a very clear understanding of what the tests revealed and recommendations going forward.
