The Art of Cake

It was by coincidence I found this place and gosh am I happy! Alina and Cailin were so so sweet, I had to ask Cailin questions about certain drinks and he was so kind. Loved the atmosphere tremendously! Took a lot of pictures alot.
I personally found the prices reasonable and was actually surprised with the Devine flavors! Loved all the pastries I got. I tried my sisters hot chocolate and it was delicious. One of the best Cafe's I've been to. Definitely Definitely going back.maybe for the high tea event ;)

Had the loveliest Afternoon Tea! Picture vintage china, cute Christmas decorations – total nostalgia vibes. They served Crème De Earl Grey Tea and an assortment of sweet and savoury pastries and finger sandwiches that hit the spot. Plus, the service was fast and super attentive, making the experience even better. While it would be nice to have other tea options, this cozy spot is a must-try for a delicious and laid-back tea time. Just a heads up, they don't accommodate food allergies or substitution requests. Still, highly recommend for a delightful afternoon, perfect for celebrating or hanging out with your girlfriends!

Absolutely amazing! The atmosphere inside is incredible, and the desserts are to die for. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

We just ordered the High Tea takeaway for my niece’s baby shower. Everything was amazing…the sandwiches were all delicious and the desserts were beautiful. The scones, cream and preserves were out of this world. It was a good value for the price, and I would definitely recommend this for any catering needs or a special occasion. And in the future I will always cut the crusts off of my sandwiches!

We booked 4 for high tea (3 adults, 1 child). Firstly the actual food is delicious so, get takeaway pastries and enjoy. Don’t waste your money on high tea.

The three stars is for the following reasons:

1. They only book in multiples of 2, and there is so pricing for children.
2. No dietary substitutions are allowed ie.pork (!), celiac (!) etc.
3. The cost for a table of 4 is $231, which is steep.
4. The service is sub par - nothing special or customer focused. No explanation or description of items etc.
5. You don’t pick the tea, It’s only cream of Earl Grey.

Conclusion, if you want to feel pampered and special as you should when shelling out $231 dollars, go to the Fairmont. It’s not that much more and at least it’s worth it. I felt robbed at Art of Cake.:/

Highly recommend the high tea experience. The tea was delicious and the variety and quality of the eats were some of the best I’ve had for high tea. As a party of two, we really enjoyed the couch sitting, our table was large and the couch was comfortable and it was easy to chat and take in the atmosphere.

This location has always been at the top of my list in my thoughts based on the reviews,  photos,  and social media posts that I've seen! And I've always believed that because it's a family business,  the service will be excellent. However,  I was very let down when I brought my family there.cinnamon bun was cold, furthermore,  two little cold Americanos! Additionally,  the peach ice tea is not really advised. It makes me sorry to remark that there needs to be improvements for an old family business with an excellent history,  but I hope they won't interpret my comments as a dislike of the lovely people that work there. I'll attempt to return there once again; if it was simply not their day this time.

The most delicious treats in Edmonton hands down. Staff is so warm and inviting the atmosphere is stunning. Beware after eating treats here you will be ruined for eating everyday treats for your local grocery stores.

The atmosphere was good, the staff not so much. The two behind the counter seemed annoyed to have to serve us. I will not be going back.

Everything I’ve had at The Art of Cake is incredible: the cakes, cupcakes, the soups. LOVE their icing so so much… and I’m not a big fan of any icing. Had the tomato bisque recently and it was flavour heaven! For special occasions or just for lunch out with friends, wonderful food and service.

5 stars since day 1. Our go to is always the “Sweet Lady Jayden” cake for birthdays & gatherings. Not too sweet and full of fresh fruit. Also, there’s a great story behind its name:) As for myself, it’ll always be their snickerdoodle cookies. By far the best I’ve ever had. I always buy it by the dozen.

Went there for the first time for a late lunch. Delicious food, decor, and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.

You need to go here. Really, you need to. What a great #yegfood experience. Super staff, great quality baking, a great menu, tasty food, a great venue. Run, don't walk there.

I would highly recommend Art of Cake! We used Art of Cake for our wedding dessert bar, a selection of mini sweets for our guests to graze on. The ordering process was simple, I was provided with an order sheet to choose from, and following a visit to sample some goodies, then even allowed the addition of items not on the typical order sheet. Feedback from our guests was fantastic. All the items were fresh, tasty and perfectly presented. Art of Cake also provided delivery on the day, for a small fee. Thank you again for the lovely assortment! (I wish I could add a photo as the items were also so very pretty).

Love love love The Art of Cake! I recently had their caramel popcorn at one of my open houses for clients, and everyone loved it! It was easily the best caramel popcorn I have ever had, with hints of cinnamon and drizzled in white chocolate… I could not put it down! Thank you for creating such yummy treats! I will 100% be a repeat customer!

The cupcakes look pretty.unfortunately they only sold them in packs of 6. I wish I could have only bought one cause buying 6 was a waste.the cupcakes tasted weird (mushy and dry at the same time) and me and my friend got sick after eating just one.lost 21 dollars for nothing

I used The Art of Cake for client gifts this year and they were amazing! The cookies and popcorn were such a hit and the presentation of the boxes was excellent.

This was a lovely cake place and it was so inviting with all of its adorable sweets displayed everywhere on the shop. Their cake tasted amazing and their rich flavour remains in your mouth. The prices were affordable too, and the staff were sweet, kind and genuine with their recommendations.

I recently got to visit The art of Cake with friends and they need to change the menu because it doesn't do justice to how decedent and delicious everything is. The staff were so friendly and fun and made the whole experience perfection along with the beautiful decor. My only complaint is that they are not based in Calgary so I can not visit as often.

Wow.not sure what cake wizardry these people use but it is amazing. The cake tastes even better than it looks which I didn't think was possible because the cake is BEAUTIFUL. I bought the cake same day and they added the Happy Birthday plaque for no additional charge.highly recommend and thanks for the cake.

My mother ordered myself a birthday cake, 8 days in advance. We went to pick it up on my actual birthday.

When we were giving our information, they had zero idea or clue what we were talking about - and unless my mother hallucinated ordering the cake, I'm confident it was lost.

Instead of trying to offer a solution, they made us feel it was our error; to the point I asked my mom if she was certain it was the right store. It's the only place my mom has been ordering cakes from, I am certain the order was correctly placed.

No apology, no discount offer, my mother bought herself a NY cheesecake slice that left something to be desired; I had such a bad taste in my mouth from the interaction, I didn't want to give them anymore business.

Used to be our go-to, but after a followup call, they still claim no memory of the order. It appears either one party, us or them have gone delirious.

Weird building layout and out of the four workers behind the desk, one was checking people out and the other three were talking. I left without my $8 slice of cake lool

Ordered a cake for our wedding day, it was super delicious and looked great! The cafe itself is very nice and picking up our cake samples and trying them there with some coffee was a super fun day!

Went with my grandma today for lunch! Food was amazing as well as the staff and decor, throughly enjoyed everything about it! Am definitely coming back:)

Wow! Finally made it here to have lunch. It was well worth the drive! The service & atmosphere were awesome and the food and desserts to die for! The chorizo veg soup was so flavourful and delicious! Will definitely be back!

Visiting Edmonton my neice wanted me to experience one of her favourite places and it did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, the food was excellent and the service very friendly.

Awesome cheese cakes Best in town the place is lovey and has a great atmosphere. Jeremy is a champ. Be sure to try the egg sandwich 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

I had a friend that recommended me to try The Art of Cake. It was my first time visiting today. Although the cheesecake was delicious, I am not sure if I will be coming back again.
The lady at the cake counter didn't seem friendly. I am no cake expert and because the cheesecakes didn't have a sign and price on it, I wasn't sure that I chose a cheesecake. The problem isn't the fact that I didn't know if it was a cheesecake or not, but she seemed annoyed because I was unable to tell her what cake I want and was only able to point at it. She told me that it's just a cheesecake. The interaction felt awkward and unfriendly.

Love their cakes! The appearance matches the taste. Just remind them to securely pack the goods in case you have a bumpy ride

We decided to stop by for some coffee on a whim. The place is cute. We were shocked at the prices. Decided to try few of the cakes $10 per reg slice. It was an okay cake definitely not worth that much.

Beautiful, carefully crafted and delicious cake for my moms birthday. It definitely made her feel special. The fresh flowers on top were an amazing touch.

This place is must see and taste. Checked out the reviews and it was my bday so I said let's check it out. I ended up getting a coconut creme pie and what a great choice. I will be back for more. Thanks!

This little haunt "backs into" the Brewery District. It's a quirky place with inside dining, the most incredible baking/pastries, and numerous vintage home furnishing pieces.

The vibe here is incredible. They have great lunch items. But this is typically our go to for a coffee and pastry. They also do great pieces like cakes for special occasions.

I'd love to keep this a secret but also don't want it to not be sustainable. Alas.here's my five star review.

This is by FAR the best cupcake/cake cafe my Husband and I have ever been to! We had a craving for red velvet cupcakes yesterday morning, and we called to see if they had them. Not only did the amazing staff set some aside for us, but they were the most unreal cupcakes we ever had! I’m ashamed to say we ate 12 cupcakes by noon!
We will never go anywhere else, the Art of Cake is perfect! It’s only flaw is that it is so close to our home so we will become cupcake addicts

Wrost place ever to deal with deal with.called in 2 weeks prior to order a pecan pie cake they said they could do that after we called multiple places.on the day was i told my son to pick up and get something written on it he gave his name for the order they showed him and him being just the person to pick it up and being told it was pecan he seen it had that and said that must be it he told them to write something on it and payed and left.when I got home from work asked how much was I was shocked when he said $45 cus I know that place is very pricy I opened the box to my surprise it was a pie not a cake.how do I go to the birthday party with a pie.it was way late that evening the store was closed and it takes 2 weeks to order a cakeso I called right in morning to see what they can do as it was the wrong item.they said nothing we can do it's your fault we don't make that.so when I ordered no one told me you don't make it I was told yes.she tried to say we can give me a discount on a cake, I would have been happy to bring the pie back but they no due to Corona I understand. But then she changed her mind and said no discount it's your fault once you left the store. I did not know they give the wrong item just to make a $ so disappointed in this place was the first time I went there and traveled 30min to get there as I heard so many good things joke make me feel bad for there mistake dint even wanna give 1 star for how they made me feel

At the party we served the pie and it was the worst pie I ever tried and pecan pie is family favorite.it was nothing like a traditional pecan pie was covered in a layer of sugary jelly that was not appetizing to eat and the filling was so sugar when we ate it was like crunching on sugar no one could eat it.wasted $45 on the pie when I could have gone to safeway and would have been way happier.was considering this place for my wedding cake not anymore.

When our first wedding cake choice fell through we reached out to the Art of Cake last minute and they were amazing. There was quick and open communication about design and price from day one. We were even able to move up the time of pick up, the day before the wedding. The cake was exactly as discussed and tasted great. Highly recommend.

My mom and I went shopping and then decided to head here for coffee and lunch. Super disappointed to find out they do not offer dine in even though they can now. Also when we asked the staff about it they were kind of rude and uninterested in answering. Probably will not return here. Ever.

So unique! I had a London Fog and the bread pudding and both were so delicious! There was also some wonderful live music happening in the evening. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I did online pre-order a birthday cake for my good friend who stay in Edmonton. I searched on IG and found out The Art of Cake. They are lovely, attentive and responsive to my additional note. My friend who is the birthday girl loves the cake so much! She said the taste is great and not over sweet. Thanks for delivery on time and the high quality cake. Would love to give it a try if there is a chance to visit Alberta in future.

Would not recommend. Not greeted kindly upon walking in by 3 staff members. I took my business elsewhere, where I was treated with respect. There are many wonderful places in this city with amazing desserts that treat their customers very well, I will continue to support those businesses!

The care and detail this business takes to ensure that customers feel welcome is noticeable from the moment you walk in. You can tell they are trying to create a warm space and I cannot wait for them to re-open for dine in! The staff allow you to browse, but ask if you're ready to order or have any questions. The food itself is devine! The egg salad is by far my favourite! For desserts the cheesecake is absolutely next level but even the cupcakes are simply perfect. The selection of ready made cakes is always something else entirely and it's so nice to know you can find something beautiful last minute. One of my families favourite places to grab goodies to go from!

The food & desserts were as tasty and delicious and I imagined them to be when I scroll their Instagram feed. The staff is super friendly and the environment is so cozy and inviting!

The Art of Cake has been our families go to spot for everything from special occasion treats to a quick place to grab a snack and a coffee. It is a place that I often will bring out of town guests to if we're looking for a great spot to grab food. Their staff is always so welcoming too! It is one of my favorites in the city and never disappoints.

I am super impressed with the staff at The Art of Cake: they made a super duper last minute vegan cupcake order happen (within a few hours of ordering) and I am so grateful! Thanks you guys! The Art of Cake know s the art of taste, the art of great coffee ️, the art of excellent service and the art of a great experience. The cafe/bakery has a wonderful ambiance to sit in and enjoy your food and drink selections. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and came on an evening when there was live music. We stayed inside but there is a really nice patio outside to enjoy in the warm weather. The washroom facilities are clean as is the rest of the cafe. The cakes, cupcakes? , pies? Are awesome. My wife enjoyed the pumpkin pie and I had the chocolate chip banana bread with brown sugar icing and both were great. We enjoyed the French press coffee. There is also food menu items available. We have been here before and will return again. We definitely recommend coming here for great pastries and great drinks.

We worked with Christine right from the very start to customize a wedding cake - we picked a two-layer cake with vanilla and chocolate cake - and vanilla buttercream. It was AMAZING!

Great bakery. Fresh and wonderful to eat. Hand sanitizer station is filled. Staff are friendly and patient.

Now that dining is back things are better. Getting scolded like a child by the staff during covid because i wasn't 2 Meters behind the next person in line who happened to be out of view around the corner shouldn't happen again. Nothing says we don't want your business quite like being treated in a condescending manner by the hired help. She wasn't there this past visit, so maybe they have corrected the problem.

I was introduced to this hidden treasure but some work friends last week. The atmosphere is relaxing and elegant & the food is fantastic. I had a pulled-beef melt with potato salad and though messy, it was packed with flavour! Their pressed coffee is to die for! I’ll be back for sure!

Stopped by today with a friend we both got lattes I believe, and she ordered the lemon square and she really enjoyed it. Tasty latte, but what stood out was the gentleman who helped us, extremely friendly, and personable. I adore the decor and feel of the entire space, and you can see how much effort and care they put into each pastry/cake they make. Will definitely be back in the future for their vegan cupcakes to try. (Was simply too early to warrant me buying them lol). Thank you again!

Whenever I want to treat myself, I go here! All of their baked goods are great, and IMO they have the best cake in Edmonton. High Tea is a wonderful experience as well.

Fantastic place, very beautiful. I am very impressed with antics decor, strong coffee and very tasty cakes. I am so happy that they finally opened in dinning. Definitely superb place to check. Btw service is great and place is very friendly love it!

Art of Cake is way better than Duchess and also way less busy and with way friendlier staff. Their cakes are stunning and delicious and worth the price.

I was walking through the city center mall one day 4 years ago and saw this little store called Art of Cake. Tried their date square. Hooked. Must be drugs in it! Amazing. Cupcakes also good, but the date squares are by far the best in Edmonton.

A lovely cozy place with a very nice staff and the best cakes in town. It is a perfect place to hang out and even grab a bite of some salads or sandwiches from the meniu. I loved the cheescakes! So fluffy and perfect!

Best High Tea on YEG!

There are not many places in Edmonton that serve High Tea. Hotel MacDonald, Cafe Linnea and The Art of Cake. I have also been to Neverland Tea Salon in Vancouver. Hands down, The Art of Cake surpasses them all! Chris called us to confirm our reservation and make sure no one in our group had any dietary restrictions. We had the good fortune to be seated at the table right by the window where the lighting was excellent. Everything on the menu was delicious and delightful. The finger sandwiches were filling and flavorful. The scones were warm, light and buttery soft and delicious. We destroyed the first level, moved on to tier two and enjoyed the sweets. Even the gingerbread man minus gum drop buttons! The macaron melted in your mouth and was the best macaron I have had in the city. The flavor combinations were excellent. The tea was a perfect compliment to everything on the tray. We wrecked this deletable tower trio and are already planning our return in the New Year. The ladies from Ballet class LOVED everything we had today. Crumbs? There was nothing left of this tower of High Tea excellence. Thank you to Lynn and Jeremy for checking in and taking care of us this afternoon. Anyone who has not attended a High Tea, go to The Art of Cake. It is the best in town!

Their cheesecake is the best and not too sweet! So that's why I ordered birthday cake from them today, however they don't have the 6" cheesecake and I have to order a different one called "Red Velvet with Cream Cheese" its pretty, but this one is too sweet compare to the cheesecake.

Cake is good but live music was so loud that I wasn’t sure if I should walk in. It felt I was walking into the middle of a live concert. Also, half the cakes weren’t labeled so that was kinda weird too.

Very cool spot to take a little break. They have a antique mall sort of feel for sitting at unique tables or couches.

Excellent treats and friendly staff. I LOVE their London Fogs here and the scones are divine. I haven’t been for live music yet but you’ll catch me here soon enough for that because it’s all such a lovely addition to the neighbourhood.

Great friendly staff, amazing desserts as well as lunch. They have a solid variety of options that they stick too and a some items that come and go with the seasons. The coffee is also quality!

Great family owned business with a warm and welcoming atmosphere! Friendly staff and tasty treats! Had my first ever high tea there with my mom the other week and it was beautiful and delicious! Have had a cake ordered from there as well as enjoyed lunch and tea and treats! Five stars!

One of the best bakeries in Edmonton and somewhat under-rated!

I’m very fussy about cake and generally find North American baking too sweet and artificial tasting, but they know what they’re doing. Delicious pastry and cakes, balanced, not too sweet and a really cute atmosphere!

We hired them for our wedding cake last year as well and they delivered a DELICIOUS, timelessly beautiful cake. All night people were telling us they “usually hate wedding cake but couldn’t get enough of ours”.

Hope this place sticks around forever!

Art of Cake is simply one of my home favorites. I've never had anything in this place that hasn't made my stomach sing musicals. The people who make up this place are amazing, the selection is otherworldly, and it all keeps me drawn in for more!

Art of Cake provided us the most delicious cupcakes for our wedding. They were perfect and our guests were obsessed with them. Every single cupcake was eaten! Thank you!

I had a slice of Black Forest Cake, and a cup of tea. The cake was delicious, and the service excellent! There was a line up but it moved quickly.

I went today to pick up a batch of mini-cupcakes, and as usual, loved the selection of baking available! It's difficult to only walk away with what I went in for. My server was lovely, attentive and friendly. We have never had a negative experience with any of the staff, who are always ready to help. My husband and I love the atmosphere, with the gorgeous antiques and laid-back feel! We will back soon, for sure!

We ordered gluten free baking for my daughters bridal shower and everything was so so good. Everyone at the shower were asking where they came from. You couldn't even tell they were gluten free.
Highly recommend them. We will definitely be back for more.

Best high tea in the city. Beautiful place and excellent treats. Tea served was earl grey and there was a good variety of finger sandwiches and sweets. Scones were melt in your mouth tender. Place is very popular so you have to make reservations well in advance. Only critique is that there were a lot of sweets relative to sandwiches, if you're more of a dessert person it might be ideal. Actually left feeling satisfied and not still hungry like some high tea services.

The Art of Cake always has delicious treats! My sister got me my birthday cake there 2 years ago, a vanilla and lemon flavoured one, and it was amazing! Not too sweet, but not too bland as well. Their buttercream is fantastic! I've had some items from their lunch menu as well, and it's pretty tasty! Also, I've been to their high tea twice, one on a regular Sunday, and one last Mother's Day, and it was so good! All the treats were great, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere is top notch. The interior design they have is so cute, and they have ample space. Washrooms are super clean.

An éloquent addition to the Brewery District. Baked goods are the better version of what grandma used to make but they do have cakes and pastries too for something fancier. LOVE this place!

Love this place! Their cakes are amazing. (The lemon raspberry is my favourite.). The coffee is excellent. Lunches are simple but tasty. Why go to a chain coffee shop (especially a foreign-owned chain) when supporting a local business is just so delicious?

First time coming in on Saturday afternoon, very happenin place! The desserts and baking are all visually stunning, and they taste even better! My fiance got a raspberry square thing I think, and I went in with the full intention of only having one cupcake, but ended up going back for a second (both Oreo) because it was so good! The staff behind the counter were welcoming and friendly. Definitely coming back to try more pastries! I love the vintage-ecclectic decor and the whole atmosphere of the place.

We got our wedding cake from The Art of Cake and people are still telling me how amazing it was. My only regret is not ordering a bigger cake. People went to town of that thing! Not only was it so beautiful and exactly what we were looking for, it was DELICIOUS. It's hard to get both of those down, but they absolutely did. Thank you so much!
