Not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here. Unless the hotel offers cheaper rooms that have shared bathrooms and are in louder areas of the hotel? We booked a room with two Queen beds and a private bathroom/shower and the room was great. We stayed in December though, so can’t speak on the AC issues that people are bringing up. The hotel has a cute retro vibe, everything is clean and the shower looked brand new. Looks like some stuff in our room was recently updated, so maybe they’re fixing the issues people mentioned with other rooms. There are no elevators/lifts, so I see how that might be an issue for those who have trouble walking up the stairs.
We almost didn’t stay here because of the reviews, but I’m glad we did! Great experience and very close to all restaurants. Parking was easy too, they have a parking lot behind the hotel (parking is free).
The only thing that seemed off was a weird creaking sound coming from the ceiling. Not sure if it was the creaking pipes or whatever, but the creaking kept happening a few times an hour for about 30 seconds at a time. It was quiet enough that it didn’t bother us or wake us up, but still was a bit weird. Attaching a video with the sound, maybe the hotel can address whatever this issue is.
Every year, our annual Christmas Staff Party takes place at the wonderful Atha B. It's truly an ideal venue for celebrations! Their events consistently amaze us, and this year was no exception – in fact, they surpassed our expectations! I regret not taking pictures of each delicious course; all three were simply divine! Every detail was meticulously considered, and they accommodated dietary restrictions with ease. We had options for the main course and a choice between soup or salad – both equally scrumptious! I chose the prime rib as my main dish, and it was likely the most tender I've tasted! The dessert was irresistibly delightful!
We had the room to ourselves making us feel like royalty. Jacob and Deven shined as our wonderful servers and bartenders, while Tim and Andrew supported them during meal delivery; all 18 of us enjoyed our meals without delays.
The event was a perfect mix of great service, a warm atmosphere, engaging entertainment with a pool table and fantastic music!
A heartfelt shoutout to Ivan, James, and Mo in the kitchen. Huge thanks to Tim and Andrew for overseeing the flawlessness of the evening, Murray the mastermind behind it all and Darcy who I’m sure was in the background somewhereAnd Pino, Atha B ninja:)
If you are looking to host a fantastic event, let this be your choice! The Atha B regular menu is also one of my favourites. I highly recommend breakfast, best in town!
As an aside, I stayed in one their charming rooms (go for the suites)! It was beautifully situated, comfortable, quiet, well-kept and very clean!
IF YOU ARE INDIGENOUS DO NOT VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Tonight I had the biggest inconvenience I have ever faced in all my life. I had drove in from hinton tonight to take my employees out for the event that they had going on, I was the sober driver drinking water the waitress dropped glow stick bracelets to the tables and my employees mom asked me to attach it on her wrist no sooner I do that the bouncer is at my table demanding me to get up and go see him at the door he had accused me of giving my party drugs at the table. How absolutely revolting and embarrassing this was, I could not hold myself together. The large crowd beside us booed this man as he continued with his accusations. As we walked out in utter disbelief this man had the audacity to smirk and tell me to have a good night as if his actions weren't despicable. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone visiting my business and let me tell you, that's not a small loss. This is really how we treat other businesses at Christmas time! Thanks atha-b! Good thing that bouncer works for you and not the border patrol. What an absolute joke! I hope you are feeling proud of yourself bouncer dude.
Clean but no A/C, shared community hallway toilets, no elevator, no service to carry baggage up two flights of stairs. Honestly if we hadn’t needed to sleep with the windows open I’d give the location five stars, but as it was at 2 in the morning drunk people on the street below woke us up.
Room with breakfast. BF menu minimal.no buffet. Just a couple of items on the take it or leave it menu. Room with minimal facilities. No tea coffee console. No drinking water. No AC. No elevator.
Very decent hotel with great value for money. Super clean and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is right downtown so just a block away from everything. We loved it and will definitely come back! Highly recommend.
Great location in the downtown area. Very nice renovated historic building. Good restaurant in the hotel, excellent food and service! No elevator for handicap.
Thank you for Allowing our pet during the wildfire evacuations Just wish They would have lowered the prices a little But they were still the cheapest in Jasper. I will stay there on a real trip to Jasper.
Great staff, they informed us that we had a room over the bar so it would be loud till 3 am. That was fine because it was super quiet after that. Beds were so comfortable. We had appies at the pub, really yummie. What really stuck out for us, is how clean the place is. Crown molding and all the memorabilia was dusted and well looked after.
That a gem this place is! From booking to checkout my experience was good. I found the price to very reasonable especially considering the time of my stay. The service in all areas - the restaurant, room service & housekeeping was exceptional.very pleasant & helpful staff! There isn’t an elevator however I didn’t even have to ask, they offered to carry my luggage up & down for me…no small feat how I pack…lol. The room was spotless, bed was comfy, decent water presuure & temperature. I had a great view of the mountains out my window! I love the decor … it’s not brand new, up to the minute & I didn’t expect it to be & I’d be puzzled if anyone did after reading the articles about it…very clear to me that it is a hotel built in 1921 & it doesn’t have an elevator…. You can choose rooms with central bathrooms or private…very clear when I read the articles & when I spoke to the front desk when I booked. It is nicely updated, very clean & reasonably priced. I will be back again & will recommend it to everyone! Thank you to the staff for making my stay so pleasant!
