The Badlands Amphitheatre

Amazing performance by all the actors. It made the gospel come to life all around us. No matter where you're from, this is a must see travel destination.

So great! I've always wanted to go however I've just never gotten the chance to experience this. Badlands passion play was fabulous! This is a must see!

The Badlands Passion Play is really amazing and special performance! The story is of course timeless and beautiful, and this performance brings it to life in a really great way. The sets, acting, costumes, they're all just wonderful. The use of the landscape is great too, it makes you feel like you could've been right there, and they use it some creative ways. Well worth seeing.

Incredible fireworks show & the band Bottle Rock-it was fantastic! More could have been done to make it more handicap accessible.

We went for LightFest, and it was amazing. Extremely well organized including lots of shelter and fireplace to warm up at.

Great venue!
My first time there to see a concert and it was a great fresh-air experience. All of the volunteers were very helpful.

I didn’t go during showtime, but the area is very neat and I like how they are using the badlands space for recreation.

Blues and Barbeque 2021 was fantastic. Excellent performers with a spectacular finish by Matt Anderson. Nothing beats live music in Badlands Amp.

Love the play and all the events tha usually go on here. So sad that the events all had to be postponed this summer. Looking forward to next year, and seeing the new Arts Center completed.

Recently saw the Badlands Passion Play this year. Incredible venue. Everyone should see this amazing space.

First time ever! Wonderful experience. Unfortunately got rained out in the middle of it. Nonetheless great overall experience with the family. Great story, production and actors! Pictures were taken before the show as photography, there after, was not allowed.

A fantastic venue for not only the passion play, but also for different musical events. Absolutely gorgeous back drop with excellent acoustics. Friendly volunteers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Unique location with incredible views of the surrounding badlands and decent sightlines to the stage no matter where you sit. A one-of-a-kind experience, but only 4 stars because of how long it takes to get to the washrooms and/or bar from the seating area. They need to add another set of washrooms as the women's lineup was so long that they temporarily let us use the men's. Bring cash because the wifi is slow and the ATM sometimes doesn't work.

It's an interesting and unique outdoor venue which makes the performances there highly memorable (particularly the Badlands Passion Play). Be sure to bring appropriate clothes for the weather and seat cushions are a good idea as the seating is wooden bench. Try the jumbo hot dogs at the concession if you go. They are tasty and will fill you up. They come with chopped onions and sauerkraut as well as the usual fixings. Driving access from Calgary and Red Deer is excellent via high quality uncrowded roads. There is a choice of good hotels and nice shaded campgrounds as well as other attractions like the world class Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum and the Hoodoos to include in your trip to Drumheller. The river valley terrain is also unique and very interesting.

The passion play showing the birth, life and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest story ever told. Come witness the story of faith, hope and love.

Very nice production of a timeless story in an amazing venue. We went in a sunny afternoon, mid-20's and it was perfect!

The Passion Play is a must to see if you are in the area in July. Mark it on your calendar for July performances. The natural amphitheater of the Badlands is amazing. It has been on for 26 years.

Absolutely stunning performance! The food was pretty price considering what you got but over all I was there for the show not food. Amazing going every year if possible

Favourite things: The Amphitheatre, Jesus and Simon Peter's voices, the incredible band, set design, costumes, live animals.

My third time to experience the Passion Play at the Badlands Amphitheater, and I’m still blown away by the amount of hard work they’ve put into creating a hitch-free, breathtaking experience! Two thumbs up guys!

The Passion Play is seriously incredible. It is a must see for anyone of faith or people that have a passion for theatre. What an amazing space to have a show in. The seats are great and I can't imagine there being a bad sight line anywhere.

Never got to see a show there, but took a tour of it and it very impressive what they have done with an outdoor amphitheater.

Words can't express this performance. Unfortunately we got rained out for the 2nd half, but Badlands was kind enough to give us a rain check, so we will be back soon to finish it off.may make this an annual date

The play changes each year so if a great event to go back to. It's a wonderful performance even for someone who is not religious

AMAZING! Like, I wish I could Gove 100 stars! Bring sunscreen and a cushion if you can - but if not they have a gift shop that sells all kinds of things to make it more comfortable, and the atmosphere there is SO WARMHEARTED that people around us we all just sharing! The seating is FABULOUS, you can get a ticket for any spot and literally have a perfect view. They changed the performance this year to a musical and it was EXCEPTIONAL! I wish they put out CDs! The story is very clear, with humour at parts, so even if you aren't a Christian familiar with the story, you would absolutely be able to follow it and enjoy the performance. If you are a Christian - this is LIFE CHANGING to see in front of you the story of Christ is powerful in a way I didn't expect. There was nothing that could have been better.it was the highlight of my summer!
