Had a great experience at the Shawnessy location. Nathan was amazing to deal with. He wasn't pushy and answered all my questions. Went away with an amazing loveseat and recliner. Highly recommend seeing Nathan.

We purchased a combined 2 set of orders this recent 2023 Boxing Day week. Ours is worth almost 7K, and our housemate was around 5K. After the orders were completed and the invoice was issued, we had the delivery scheduled based on the earliest it can be done as per The Brick. The delivery date jotted down was Saturday, the 30th of December 2023, and the agreement made was to ensure we make ourselves available the whole day, because the delivery time cannot be guaranteed. We agreed to this and ensured as well that we will not be working that day. We did not hear anything back from The Brick, so we decided to call them the day before which was a Friday, but we got bounced around. We again called The Brick early the following morning and to our surprise, we were told that the delivery will not be pushing through as scheduled because one (1) of the items we have purchased which happens to be the vanity mirror (the smallest item out of the bunch) was on Clearance Sale and they’ve failed to secure it on time so our delivery date has been pushed to January 3rd the earliest. We asked to speak immediately with the store manager – Ambro, because the delay mentioned is completely unacceptable given all that we have done to ensure that it pushes through as scheduled, plus the fact that we made sure we made ourselves available the whole day, which also means we did not take any work schedule. Ambro wasn’t there yet during that time, so we requested an immediate callback.

The following is the unpleasant summary of our conversation with the mentioned store manager Ambro. Please take note that given the fact that the whole ordeal was due to The Brick being at fault, Ambro did not take full responsibility and accountability for the situation, nor did he apologize. Also, instead of coming up with work around options, we did that part for him and threw about a dozen alternatives. However, he was contended with rejecting our ideas as he only wanted me to agree to rescheduling the delivery date. He never bothered making an effort to reach out to people that can actually help him out to solve this problem. To top this of, he had the audacity to instead commending himself by saying that “ I’VE ALREADY GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION, BUT YOU ARE THE BIGGEST PROBLEM, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT AGREEING TO RESCHEDULING THE DELIVERY” then I’ve started receiving several insults from him like “WITH ALL THE DISCOUNTS THAT I HAVE GIVEN YOU, I AM CONFIDENT THAT YOU CANNOT FIND ANY STORE THAT’S GOING TO GIVE YOU ALMOST $3K ON DISCOUNTS” “WHY YOU ARE SO INCONSIDERATE AND MAKING EVERYTHING VERY COMPLICATED HERE”, “I CAN’T DO ANYTHING” “ I FOUND YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND EASY TO DEAL WITH THAT IS WHY I GAVE YOU THOSE HUGE DISOUNTS”. With that said, I told him that “This is absolutely unacceptable, why does it sound like this problem is our fault? Why are you making it sound that we owe The Brick big time? If this is the case, I’d rather cancel my purchase” then with all conviction Ambro said “YOU KNOW YOUR $7K PURCHASED IF EVER YOU WILL CANCEL IT WON’T HURT US AS COZ THAT IS TOO SMALL A PURCHASE AS COMPARED TO OUR REGULAR TOTAL SALES”. We decided to cancel the order and relieve ourselves with the stress and aggravation dealing with the unprofessionalism and rudeness of this guy, so please do yourselves a huge favor and BEWARE OF SHOPPING AT THE BRICK SHAWNESSY!

Had a good experience buying a sofa at Shawnessy location.
Jim was very helpful and not pushy at the same time.
Even helped get a bit of a discount on delivery.
Overall gret experience.

Akhil Mohandas delivered our king size bed and our motion air bed frame and set it up for us. He delivered on time as promised and was very helpful and knowledgeable of what was needed to be done. I would use his services again without a doubt.

Mr. Wadood helped me to purchase a fridge. He is very knowledgeable and informed about the products. The best sale consultant I've dealt with in awhile. The worst experience ever. My pick up location was Shawnessey location. Sunday morning arrive at opening time, back door to pick up. Ring buzzer sign on door, waited 15 minutes, drove to the front of the store. Hard to find an employer or a customer service desk. Finally found some one to take me to the back of the store, stock room was a total disaster employee entered my order in the computer. Waited a half an hour and still nothing. Then you see 3 employees scattering to find my order. Well it ends up only 2 chairs were set aside. Another employee tells me well you are getting the demo table, another 15 minutes to go to the front to get the demo table, and sends me on my way. We'll I won't be back to the brick very unorganized.be aware

Jim Chahor at the Calgary Brick in Shawnessy was our sales person. He was extremely helpful and very friendly and knowledgeable. He was very patient taking a lot of time with us. We appreciated that very much and would recommend him to others.

This is the third time I purchase at the Brick and the delivery and pick us service is always disappointing and frustrating.

I purchased a dinning set on Sunday, scheduled the delivery on Wednesday and they delivered the wrong product. So we rescheduled the delivery of the correct product only on the other Saturday as they were not available earlier. On Saturday, they came for the delivery, left without assembling it, and then I realized they delivered the exact same wrong product again.

They asked me to wait, I still don’t know when I am receiving the correct product.

I purchased other items and decided to pick them up, I waited 45 minutes as my order got lost. I never had a positive experience with The Brick.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a new mattress, and Sikander was so friendly and helpful as soon as we walked in. He showed us a variety of mattresses and headboards until we found one that was right for us. It was delivered 2 days after and that was also a very positive experience. The delivery men were very fast and also super friendly. Would absolutely recommend this location to anyone in the market for any type of furniture!

Ordered a sectional back in November. Were told it will be in January, in January they said it will be in the middle of February and then that we will get out sectional in May. After using my money for 4 months they are telling me I can take my money back. SHAME for The Brick. They don't care about costumers services.

The brick failed miserably on the delivery of my Mother's bed. They rescheduled 3 times and from the initial purchase we were not informed that the delivery people would not put the bed together. It is a shame that the brick has a great employee but they don't try to be at the same standards as him. Shame!
Bailey at Calgary Shawnessy did an excellent job assisting my Mother with purchasing a new bed and a TV. He understood her needs and was very patient with all the questions without being patronizing. Awesome job!

I've only ordered online from this store but have lots of problems with stock at the moment. The issue isn't the stock, as that is the current state of the world, but the communication and false advertisement of when items are in stock and expected to be delivered is the issue. Currently 2 months late now on a dishwasher and refrigerator that were advertised as in stock but have been delayed for months. I would have ordered from somewhere else if I knew this was the case. Also, nobody gets in touch at all to let you know when they are back in stock to be delivered, I have to go onto the online chat regularly and just managed to organize delivery of my stove even though nobody called me, yet chatting online it was available to be delivered in 2 days. Feels like you're spending thousands of dollars on appliances with no idea when they will turn up. I won't order from the Brick again when I finally get these appliances.

Our salesman, Dan, was knowledgeable, efficient and considerate. He gave us an excellent explanation about the new range we were looking at. The store manager even stopped to share information about the product features. I highly recommend shopping in this new, beautiful store.

Inconsistent customer service, they sold our orders to other people without telling us.
In September we had ordered multiple items (over 10,000$ worth) from the Sunridge location, we had received a call around mid October confirming that the majority of our purchases had been received at the location, with only two items missing, but being that we are currently renovating our house we asked if they’d be able to hold it for us. They said there was no problem, they would hold it until everything arrived so we could have all of it delivered at once (approximately end of December). We received a call, now mid December, that they only have our washing machine, oven, and our table with 2/6 of our chairs. Now we are being told that we have to wait until the end of January before we get most of our stuff because they sold it to other people. By that point, we were hoping to have been moved in already but now we have to postpone moving into our own house because we won’t be able to cook or even store our food in a fridge. The inconsistency is ridiculous because now the manager is saying they only hold things for 7 days, because of this I will *hopefully* be finally moving into my house when I am 8 months pregnant. The Brick is providing a terrible experience. The manager couldn’t even guarantee that they won’t sell our items that they have in stock for the one day we had asked for so we could set up delivery to a storage location, simply saying “I’ll keep an eye on it. ”

Update: it is now February 4 and I am due to have my baby in a month. The brick said we should have everything by the end of January. We called because we hadn’t received any updates, only for them to say that the fridge, dishwasher, and cooktop will not be here until first week of March because of “Covid”. All the head office said they can do is put a rush, lo and behold our stuff is going to be even later than what was said when we called!

Terrible, inconsistent responses, no communication with customers after they make the sale. I ordered multiple items, totalling over $10,000 in September… it is now February and I’m still missing a lot of my major appliances. Now I’m stuck paying rent for the place where I’m staying, while also paying a mortgage on a house I can’t move into while they keep pushing back the “eta” of my items. If you plan on receiving the products you paid for in less than a year…GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

When the original couch didn’t fit down our stairwell we were pretty upset. Gill and the rest of the staff at the Brick went above and beyond to help us fix this problem. I would absolutely recommend them!
