Hit or miss for the most part. Most of the staff is friendly, but definitely not all of them! So don’t be surprised on having some exceptionally poor professionalism be on the opposite side of the counter. Place has some stuff that could easily be considered a great deal, but as you browse you’ll find loads of out of date stuff, that just seems to just be cluttering the spot. I think the entire idea of it for a business is great, it can be a fun stop to browse and maybe buy, but it’s not the only place that you can find variety of second hand stuff.
Got a ps5 from here a month ago for a friend. When I gave it to him the controller had a bad drift I was offered $50 refund. Perfect, I went to go and get the refund and the guy behind the counter couldn't refund me and the managers weren't in at the time I guess. So he offers me a replacement which Is okay. I took it and then last night went to go play 2 player and the controller that was the replacement and one button doesn't work. Not sure what's going on but I'm super disappointed.
When my wife and I go camping we often buy DVDs from this place. They have a great selection of many different movies for everybodys liking. Prices are very reasonable usually 3 dollars a movie. You can buy 5 and get the 6th one free. After you watch you can return them for some credit.
The people that buy don't know what they are talking about. They rip off people they low ball prices. Don't sell your stuff here they will rip you off better on kijiji or Facebook market place
They undeniably offer an extensive selection. While I have come across occasional reviews mentioning the service being inconsistent, sometimes leaning towards being either insufficiently attentive or excessively overbearing, I can understand how this could be influenced by the level of busyness at the establishment. When they are less occupied, they tend to allocate more time to cater to individual needs, whereas during busier times, their attention might be directed towards overseeing the entire place.
Personally, I have been content with my experiences there. I have made a few purchases, including a couple of watches and hifi equipment, and have found their pricing to vary from market rates to quite reasonable to even being outright advantageous in certain cases. The key lies in having a good grasp of what you are looking for, and fortunately, the internet serves as a valuable resource in this regard.
Upon seeking assistance, I have observed their staff to be patient, well-mannered, and more than willing to conduct tests to ensure my satisfaction with the products I am considering. Additionally, I appreciate their flexibility when it comes to negotiating prices, particularly when a reasonable rationale is presented.
In conclusion, despite occasional reviews highlighting service inconsistencies, I have personally had positive experiences at this establishment. Their diverse range of offerings, coupled with patient and accommodating staff, makes it a worthwhile destination for a nice buy and sell store.
Pretty much the last chain style second hand "pawn shop" it's not a pawn in a traditional sense but they have a great group of buyers who know their stuff. If you come in with reasonable expectations of value (50 percent or less of eBay value) and your gear is in good shape they will often thank you for making life easy and give you cash in hand. The store is filled with curiosities from pre owned rings to rare collectables. Always worth a stop in if you're in the area.
This store has a lot of stuff. You do need to be aware of your prices some things are overpriced. I often find that there are plenty of staff but no one really pays attention to you. They don't ask if you need help and when I returned a system that wasn't working I was treated rudely and when I asked him what his problem I'd he said it's so busy I can't believe your returning this on a Sunday. It was they only day I was driving back into the city considering I bought the product on Saturday and couldn't use it. I don't recommend this place but it is what it is.
The place is clean and very well organized. I was completely amazed by that as it was my first time in the store. The staff was pretty helpful and friendly. I believe their prices are fair and they walk you through their process.
Chris guy at the store seems rude and was in rush to help you even it wasn’t busy. He offered really lower price for my item I went to sell. I’ll not recommend to anyone and I’ll never go again.
Pretty pricey items, but good items as well. Liked the motorcycle jackets. $199 for HD aint bad and the rocket was $79. It's the electronics that are up there
Fair prices and willing to negotiate to make the purchase work for both sides of the transaction. Helpful staff, but let you look around without being too pushy. Very nice place!
They are a fairly good company with decent staff and have tried too help in a moderate fashion when I have had too pawn things in a emergency or give a decent deal on asking price for items iv purchased.only issue I have had is the content of items are not as wide range as they could be for things of value and they stick too what they know sells rather instead having a multitude of selections
The ladies go above and beyond in their efforts to give you a very positive experience. Other registry offices should take lessons here in excellent customer service.
If you are a Bluray / DVD collector, this is the place! Hundreds of used movies at great prices. Blurays are only $4 a piece and DVD's are $3 a piece. They also have deals if you buy a bunch!
Like it’s good for video games for me at least but their selection is extremely inconsistent. I understand it’s like a pawn shop and the items are what come through the door, but they could actively search for items like some other stores do (if they aren’t already. I got store credit for an item that was broken, even though there was no visible damage (video game). Their CDs are quite pricey and I don’t like how the employees sometimes just lurk over my shoulder as if imma steal something.it’s still a good store, not great, but I will return and I recommend others to visit.
P. S - not a good place to sell, constant lowballs. They offered me $12 for a sealed copy of doom eternal, like dude…
Great place to find hidden gems - electronics, instruments, comic books, movies, etc. Their retro video game selection alone is worth the visit if you're a vg person. Fair prices given for stuff brought in, I've never felt ripped off when selling.
** please read ** I shopped here for years. I collect Disney DVDs, Blu rays, pop figures and cd's. All of which they sell for cheaper. I've spent thousands of dollars here but I will never return. You shouldn't shop here either. Here's why. I recently was shopping with my bf and we bought a video game. The game did not include the online exclusive content that the game said it offered, so we made a return saying the issue. The older man was shaking and furious at us for returning this game. After trying to tell us everything is final sale. (Again, this game that was defective, and did not come with what it said). And he said he would not let us do any more returns and he told us to never come back. We've both made dozens of exchanges AND returns over the years. As very loyal customers we were upset and we will not return. It's a shame an employee can have such a bad day and take it out on customers like that. Very disappointed. We have had nothing but great encounters with every other sales associate over the years of shopping there, when it was called cash converters for years. But you should not shop here while that older man is working here. He has a temper and rage issues and does not follow store policy.
I bought an 80 dollar record on Friday that had hidden damage that wasn't noticeable till it was played. I wasn't able to return it until Monday, and they told me that all they could do was give me a credit because it had been more than 24 hrs. I've been shopping there for 15 years, but the manager showed no flex. He may have been technically correct, but it would have been smarter to refund me the money. Now I'll never be back, but hey they got to keep the 80 bucks.
Pretty nice deals, got a drawing tablet for 20 dollars, a friend i know works there so there is a possibility to mess with him (just not too much to actually be a problem)
Friendly and approachable sales and buying staff, quick service and fair pricing offered and negotiated on multiple items sold. Great selection of quality pre-owneed games, music and multimedia format entertainment options. Found every Christmas movie i was looking for back in December, and all in original packaging and fully playable. I heard one of the older staff - possibly the owner? - make a statement about buy 5 get the 6th free (I may have the quantities incorrect there) but what caught my attention is that he was referring to EVERYTHNG in the store: buy 5 guitars? 6th one is free. Need 6 diamond rings? Yup - 6th one is free. Id lowe to be there when customer actually takes them up.on the offer lol.but until then it'll still be a great resource for a good deal on quality pre-owned consumer goods. Worth checking out!
Extremely rude and manipulative staff. Have visited multiple times and both times my day was ruined. Not coming back, and would not recommend to anyone
Their prices are pretty good and reasonable. How they back the mask bylaw makes me want to support them even more! Giving one star because they are in their legal right to refuse service to you? You have a right to not wear a mask, but they also have the right to refuse service! Can't have all the pieces of the pie!
Generous 2 star from my pov. 2 visits and left with what I brought both times. First time main item was "too new". Sorry, impulse buy I never found a use for hence the trying to sell. This time.employee say s "too big not for me.but if you had hand tools I would look" my response "come look at these hand tools" employee says without looking "nope not for me not that older kind. " Me thinking. "18v lithium ion ridgid set is old now? ". Best of luck to anyone who tries to make a deal here.
EDIT: After the response from the owner I have lowered my rating would give zero not and option.its unfortunate they think ppl are taking advantage in other words lying about a medical condition. Not sure how they would know that. And very presumptuous them. Sure they will say that bc alot of pll say it however alot of ppl have medical issues. Calgary has over 1.5 million ppl in it. Its very discriminating to those of us with medical conditions.
It would be a five star since I love this store. I give it a 2 star since they will not allow ppl in without a mask due medical issues. They have a sign a their door stating cannot enter with out a mask no exceptions
Always clean and the staff are friendly and helpful if needed. I always check out their DVDs not much else but my whole family likes the store for the cheap deals and the other stuff.
I am giving 5 star and haven't even visited this establishment. I am giving 5 stars because of the review of the person that said "MILD disease". I am sick and tired of people thinking this is a big joke, I reallydon'tthink a disease that is killing people should be considered mild. I am glad you are practicing the government guidelines just like all establishments are suppose to be practicing and look forward to visiting because you are. I would like to wish everyone a great safe day!
Covid paranoid.if you don't have a tyvex suit on don't expect to be let in.thought I would browse and try to support local stores.they don't want my business so I will go elsewhere.reply to the owner - 2020/05/21 I don't want your hand sanitizer, don't know what it is, and your shop is not a hot spot for diseases.everyone is freaking out over a mild new disease.the government guidelines are ridiculous.this isn't the first new disease and won't be the last. I'll shop elsewhere.good riddance.
You need to get a handle on customer service. If you're going to have an attitude, you probably shouldn't work in the industry, and when I tried to call and make a complaint, I was put on hold. And then hung up on! Fantastic service guys.
Not much to say, they have good selection of stuff all set at very reasonable prices! They top brand (milwakee) recip saws for like 90 bucks! They've got a bit of everything, the only real downside to this awesome store is how far it is from my house! Please open a north location!
It’s a pawn shop. Store is full of junk but just a classic pawn shop no different than any other one. Just be prepared to get less than 10-15% of the value of your items max. Customer service is not good but not bad. Your better off selling privately and if your looking for a cheap product they don’t sell much less for brand new at the store so in less your in a bind don’t waste the time driving there.
Good place to find things that you don't really need. But it's also a place where you can find musical instruments like electric guitars, effects, amps, etc.
Staff have attitudes and are unprofessional. They will give you the bare minimum for whatever item your selling. They basically take advantage of people that they know are desperate for money, and down on there luck. You would be better off going to a pawn shop, at least there you can buy your stuff back. I will never set foot in this store again, to buy or sell anything. Places like this should not even be in business
Would've appreciated it if I was told I needed two pieces of ID while I was on the phone before I spent time and money coming down from downtown. I assumed picture ID would've sufficed.
These guys are fair. I like selling them stuff No I am not getting too dollar but it is done and done. Easy enough. Come to think of it I have never bought anything here. Huh.
Huge shout out to Dave! Recently Dave assisted in returning a very sentimental piece of music equipment to my brother! We are ecstatic to have it back.
Dave, Your are a gentleman and a scholar. It's tough to find honest places these days and this one, friends, is it!
Check this place out when you have the chance. Great people, great things!
I've been buying and selling/trading at this store for more than ten years, since we moved to the neighborhood. I've always had great service, Daniel is a great guy, knowledgeable and courteous all the time. There's other awesome guys/girls but I don't recall names. The owner (or manager?) gave me fair deals every time I had to trade or sell stuff. There is one new fellow though, that I guess wanted to show off his negotiating skills. I was buying a computer monitor, the sticker on it said "accessories included". However no connection cable was included, just an adapter for a certain type of video input that was of no use to me because my computer didn't have that type of connection. I asked if he could bring the price down since it was obvious the info on the item was inaccurate. He then said I could buy the cable separately (for $10) and he would not charge me for the GST on the price of the cable! So he wanted me to pay another $10 for a cable that should have came with the item anyways, only to save $0.50! This was absolutely laughable. I bought the monitor anyways and I will keep shopping there, I go there at least a few times a week. I always find great stuff, video games especially, large variety and good prices. I'll just have to avoid that particular salesman as he was trying to rip me off right there (something that has NEVER happened to me before at that store).
Purchased two defective speakers and returned them the next day. Staff remembered us coming in, and spent time finding speakers that would fit our needs, and offered us a deal on the replacements, and refunded the difference, due to the hassle. The manager, although blunt, is a wonderful guy who has been incredibly fair with all purchases I’ve made and all things I’ve sold there over the past 1.5 decades I’ve been going here.
