The Camera Store

I can't recommend this place in good faith. I bought all my camera equipment from there. Their return policy sucks where they refunded while taking 10% off even though I returned a brand new item as is. They are blaming a tiny rub mark and robbing the customers off 10%.

All the products I received from them were unsealed. So how can I be sure all were new. No way to know.
DO NOT COME HERE.

With all due respect there is no trust left anymore after this experience. So, I can't trust that I was given a brand new item as it was not sealed when I received it.
Being the trusting person that I am, I didn't check the items at the store believing them to be new.
The item was checked at home and then put back with all its original packaging. It was not even taken outdoors.
I refuse to believe that just opening an unsealed box and returning everything in its original packaging would warrant a $130 charge.
You lost a potential returning customer and with this experience, I can't recommend anybody to the store.

Just dropped by The Camera Store in Calgary and wow, what a cool spot for camera buffs! The selection's huge – they've got everything from beginner gear to pro stuff. And the team there really knows their cameras. They're super helpful, not pushy at all, and they actually listen to what you need.

Got to try out some cameras and lenses right there in the store, which was awesome. They also do these workshops and meet-ups, which I'm definitely checking out next time.

The vibe in the store is just right – laid back, but you can tell they're serious about photography. Easy to find in Calgary, too. If you're into photography, this place is a must-visit. Totally helped me out with my camera hunt!

Their customer service online and in-person is top-notch. They are very accomodating online, as well as when I am in-store. I eventually bought my Fujifilm X-T30ii from them with 35mm lens. I will definitely come back to their shop in the future as I know based from my own experience, they would never let you down and try their best to get you what you need.:)

Being a huge fan of their YouTube channel, I just wanted to pop by and look at their store since we were in Calgary for a few days during our vacation in Canada. We didn't buy anything at the end since we didn't need anything, really, but also because our luggage is too full. They seem to have a nice selection of products (cameras, lenses, accessories, both for digital and film photography, and also a section of used gear). I couldn't easily find some prices, though, not all products seemed to be cleared labeled. Also, I was looking for the new Sony A7CR and A7C ii, but apparently they're not yet available in store (but they have just been released).
It was nice to see Dave and I just hoped Evelyn was also there

Recently, I got back into film photography and found The Camera Store has everything I needed. They were very helpful, so I go there on a regular basis. No one else seemed to have film anymore.

This is, hands-down, the best place in Canada to buy all things photography-related.

I’ve been dealing with Ron for a while now, and he has come through for me multiple times with requests for items I thought would take much longer to get. He also happens to be a great guy and passionate photographer which makes connecting with him by phone a pleasure.

I live in Guelph, so I haven’t had a chance to visit the Store in person, but no matter, as their shipping is excellent, well-priced, and on-time.

Both Ron and the store are a major asset to the photography community. Highly, highly recommended.

We had a problem with our memory card and they helped us free of charge. They gave us a memory card for free so we could take some pictures on our vacation even if it was an older model. It was a spare card of the person that helped us. It was all with a smile!

Amazing customer service. Experts on bench in all types of imaging services. The rental lenses are flexible to work in different types of jobs.

I always enjoy visiting here. Unlike some other retail environments these days, Someone is always available to help You. I do enjoy photography as a hobby a lot, even thou I am as amateur as photographers come. Every couple of Years I like to get a touch crazy and spend $3-4k on a lens. When I do, I usually like to engage in that kind of retail therapy here. In between those big purchases, they always have what I need whether it is a inexpensive blower/brush, memory card or a new bag. The Staff is always genuinely happy to see You and knowledgeable. So whether Your a Pro or a eternal Beginner like Me, I think You'll enjoy visiting The Camera Store.

I mean what can I say? This place is like going back in time for customer service. I've purchased a camera here before, but this time I just needed advice with my D500 and eventually getting a Fuji. Ron spent a good 25 minutes with me giving the best advice. I mean they are just wonderful at helping you. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else if you live in Calgary for your camera needs. These guys are so knowledgeable and don't make you feel bad at all for asking any questions that I'm sure they hear all the time. Thanks Ron!

Just getting into photography and wasn't really sure about much so popped into The Camera Store and had a great experience. Dave took the time to give me almost a 30 min crash course - showing me several different cameras, taking into account my skill level, and budget. Their prices are very competitive, and every time I've gone in since I've been greeted and helped almost immediately. This isn't a retail experience you get much anymore!

My go to camera store for all my professional needs. No sense going anywhere else frankly. Best service.

Helpful & incredibly knowledgeable staff walked me through the pros & cons of different models for a camera upgrade. Have had pushy camera shop salespeople in the past, but no sign of that at The Camera Store.

Unfortunately the service has slow down. You have to wait a long wait until a staff is available to assist you.

I've been dealing with the camera store for over 20 years now (used to get my darkroom chemicals there) and they have always been knowledgeable and reliable. They are a staple of the photography community here in Calgary.

Highly recommend coming to this store chris was a great help and helped me with picking out a film camera, all the staff is lovely tons of fun items too super unique film options build it your self pin hole cameras and sun photography paper will for sure be my go to when needing any thing speciality for my film needs keep it up the camera store

I went to this store as an beginner hobbyist. The staff were amazingly helpful and patient. Haley Eyre was especially helpful and I feel more confident and educated than ever thanks to her advice. Great store and people.

I have taken the offer from the floor manager, Russ Scullen, to try out any new lens for 2 weeks and have full refund if not happy. I have paid $10,521 for 3 Canon RF lens and did not considered rent options to try out because I seriously wanted to own the products.
I have returned to the store after 2 weeks and wish to give back just one lens but the floor manager, Russ Scullen, said I have made a dent in the lens (which I didn't believe) and refused to give me back the full refund.
He didn't honoured the 2 weeks try-out (scam) so I ended up returned all 3 lens to him and paid 5% restocking fee which was $526 that he demanded.
I promise to never trust this store again for it's failed offer and I do not recommend anyone to deal with Russ Scullen. He's so mean and unreasonable!
I will shop at Vistek from now on.

Best retailer in calgary for anything photography, even if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’re happy to point you in the right direction. I come here for 120 film I use in my antique cameras mainly and there is always a good selection. Only downside is it’s location as they can be difficult to find and park at; especially for someone who lives in the south end of the city. Recommend for anyone, film or digital, to check it out in person.

Really impressed, we were helped out instantly. Found a new flash for my canon camera, lots of used accessories and cameras also available.

I didn’t end up buying anything but I just had to come on here and say that the employee Andrew is awesome. He spent so much time answering my questions, sharing knowledge, suggesting products and showing me all the different film cameras in stock and how they work.
