The Canadian Brewhouse (Edmonton Downtown)

We were 1/3 tables in the bar at 830pm. Our food took a while and assume it was sitting under the heatlamp because the soup had skin on it. The garlic fingers were sitting there for a while and you could tell because they were not hot. Once we were done our food, our server did not come to the table for 25 minutes. Finally asked for a box and the bill, and it took another 5 for her to come by. I understand when a bar is busy and service and food is slow. But this was not the case. The staff shouldn't be hanging out in the back when there are paying customers that need service.

Overall very dissappointed with the experience.

We always have a great time here, although our server Aly was incredible this evening. She had the best energy and was tons of fun - experiences like this have us coming back!

I had aly as my server downtown, and she was amazing, she checked on us multiple times and was really sweet and kind and had a super cute smile and laugh! Will def be back

Brendan is a swell guy and gave us great service. He used a big ol’ spoon to mix all of our drinks which was a nice touch. Never seen a spoon that big….

My wonderful husband, Christopher, took me here for a date night after we welcomed our 6th child, Lucy Jane. We went with our fantastic neighbors. The amount of alcohol they have on hand is astonishing! My husband and I got wasted! Really really good wings, but got rather messy rather quickly. Also, why do the wings come with carrots? I didn't want to waste them, so i took them home for my little Bently to eat for school the next day. I was so hungover the next day, I had to call over the babysitter again. If you want to get wasted, this is definitely the place to be

Ordered from Skip the dishes today (19-OCT-2021), ordered wings and kids pasta. Came with extra side veggies with the free perogies and they even included blue cotton candy. The wings were well done as asked and everything came out great. Such nice touches with the extra side veggies and cotton candy. Will definitely order again.

Have been a regular for Friday prime rib lunch, but recently the entire turnover of staff has not been good. I understand slow service if things are busy, but not inattentive (ignoring) service when it's not busy. Had to interrupt staff comingling amongst themselves and ask for a beer. And to be told I can't have prime rib because it's being saved for a group coming in later is unheard of. Hope it's just one bad day.

Leigh was our server for tonight and she gave perfect service she always checked up on us and made sure we were good on drinks and food. Giving us great vibes and showing us the best deals for the night. I felt very welcomed with her being our waitress for the night. I 100% recommended having her as one and she will make sure you’re set for the night and make sure you’re having a lot of fun during the night

We ordered 2 huge platters from here last night through skip the dishes. We gave a $15 tip to the delivery guy prior to receiving the order in the hopes that it’d get here quick, we live about 7-8 minutes from this brew house. The delivery driver accepted the order then proceeded to drive 80 blocks in the opposite direction of the restaurant and our house. We watched the delivery driver essentially go do another order while ours sat at the brew house. When the delivery driver arrived he wouldn’t even answer my questions if he got lost, why he drove to 142 Str, etc. Just laughed at me and left.

The food itself wasn’t bad besides everything being cold but using this service completely ruined the experience. I’d order from here in the future but I’ll pick it up myself and tip the restaurant workers myself.

Man. Lemi tell you a great love story. Anna was an amazing waitress. 1 of 2 of the best servers I've ever had hands down. This will be my new bar every time! Give her a raise. I love this place.

Placed an order here and it was accidentally mixed up, the general manager was so kind and went above and beyond expectations to ensure I got my correct order. The staff have been consistently friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for a very relaxed atmosphere this is definitely the place to go place to go

CBH downtown is awesome. Great food and great staff! Kendall is THE best. Always gets our order right and has a genuine, fun conversation with us. We come here 1-2 times a week because of the great atmosphere. Thanks for taking care of us:)

The manager of this location Kyle, was very homophobic, employees are not properly or thoroughly trained in regards to the rules and regulations of the aglc, the service is increasingly incredibly poor, they lack enthusiasm and treat people however they intend.

Awesome experience! Came in with my son and gf. Had just about everyone ask if we had been helped even after we had. Our waitress was excellent. Really friendly staff.

Great great food, the bathroom door on the way out threw me for a loop. Very friendly staff. The kids jet chills are awesome kids loved them

It’s a great atmosphere, Justin is always really friendly. Nico is incredible, he makes the best drinks and always takes great care of us. Ask for a Nico Special and you’ll never be disappointed. The brisket grilled cheese with au jus is also delish.

Update:
So trip number 2. This time it was a totally different experience.
1. Apps- were hot and tasted great- riblets and garlic fingers. These were better than the other Brewhouses we have been to.
2. Wings- were hot and cooked well. Flavour was really good on all of them.
3. Service- was great. We were checked in on throughout our meal and our food came out in good time frame considering they were quite busy this time around.
I am glad that we came back! Will be bavk when we are in the area!

Food was not great. There were 3 of us our food came out at different times. The 2 that ordered wings came out at the same time but my salad came out 10 minutes later and my chicken was just barely warm meaning it probably sat for a bit. The wings weren't cooked well at all and ranch was runny. Service was terrible, and pretty much non existent. We were the only table inside. I know there were people outside but we were pretty much ingnored. Had to ask for extra hot sauce 3x, took over 10 minutes to get it!
Asked for a highball to be in a tall glass and it came in same size as a water glass.didn't realize that they don't have actual tall highball glasses. Very disappointed for my fist time at this location. Not likely to go back!
Update. I will add 2 more stars as my blackened chicken tasted good and my salad was also good. They aslo alter their dishes with was a bonus.

Sat on the patio and the mist was lovely. However the food service was very slow (45 mins) and we were told it was because food pickup orders had put the kitchen behind. I understand the need to maintain this part of the business but i guess I'd prefer if the in person clientele were prioritized.

I have been loyal to this location throughout the pandemic. They have been above and beyond through skip the dishes, and I finally today went here to enjoy the patio now that we are permitted. My server Janelle reaffirmed that this place is well-managed (thanks Kyle). Highly recommend.

Haven't been here in quite some time. Much better experience than previous in large part due to the server (Anna) and more options on draft. Will be putting location back into the rotation.

Worst place to come the manager is an incompetent He had preferences for his friends and his attitude and attention was not nice to a different ethnicities

Nice place but takes 30 minutes at least to get our order, and seems is because they are giving priority to skip the dishes. I'm not a fan of skip the dishes or that kind of things so, if now that's is going to affect to us, maybe I'm going to keep cooking at home like I loved and I used to do it. Sad because my partner was upset for that. Anyway, hopefully you have back the respect to the customer inside your place and not make them wait lots for the food when they are trying to eat at your place. Nice ambiance.

Great atmosphere especially if you're into watching sports. Great menu, great drink selection. If you sit at the bar hopefully you get Dylan as a bartender. This guy, lemme tell ya, an absolute beauty. He recommended the tempura cauliflower and it did not disappoint. Also he's a great listener, he let my brother ramble on about life for 10 min without interrupting. 10/10 would recommend.

My best friend wasn’t happy with a mishap. After he left I approached the manager. She went above and beyond to ensure it was remedied. I’ve always loved that place! P. S. I gave the jersey to someone far more deserving

The food is awesome here, great nightlife however to be honest service was patchy at best. Server didn't come see us for like an hour at a time, however I really enjoyed the experience here overall.

Went with a buddy to check it out. I got the French dip, and have to say I was less than impressed. The bread was good, but that is where the praise stops. There was hardly any meat on the sandwich and it was fatty and a bit over cooked. It was not tender and could have been sliced thiner. I will say that the fries were also good. My buddy had the fish and chips, and said it was just okay. Service was okay but not great.

May 29,2019 I and my friend came to the Canadian Brewhouse at 1320 Webber Greens Dr Nw. We received the waste customers service ever. We waited over 15 minutes for a server to come greet us. We asked for drinks and it took them over 10 minutes for a server to bring our drinks and as soon as we got our drinks, the server didn’t even ask us what food we wanted to order. She walked away. The worst part there weren’t even busy! And has a lot of employees walking around doing nothing. I believe this is because we were black people. This is an example of racism! PLEASE IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE BLACK HUMAN DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION BECAUSE THEY WILL TREAT YOU VERY POOR.

Vegetarian options are beyond embarrassing. I ordered a 17 dollar beet salad and received a shallow small bowl of arugula, beets and canned oranges. Please avoid if you want any quality veggie food

Ali was absolutely phenomenal!

My friends and I came to have one beer, and then we met our server Ali who was so engaging, fast, and friendly that we couldn't help but stay longer. Despite having an early morning ahead of us, we ended up closing the place down. What was most impressive was that it was a busy and loud night, and Ali was running around like crazy, but she always had a smile on her face and was far-in-a-way the most attentive and fastest server in the place. She always made it feel like she was happy to see us again, and even gave us high-fives and friendly banter as she passed by.

Brewhouse, if you want to knockout the competition, just hire more servers like Ali!

Had a lot of fun here. The staff are wonderful and they sure want you to have a great time. If you have the luck of getting Courtney as your server you can look forward to a unique joke written out on the back of your bill. A big thank you for making my stay in Edmonton that much more enjoyable for the last 5 nights! Fun, fun, fun, and good times.

Illegally detained for not paying our tab. We paid it once, which is generally sufficient at most establishments, but not so here. I asked for my tip back, but no dice. I think the air must be stratified and there is a lack of oxygen the closer you get to the floor. The shorter staff seemed to be suffering from hypoxia and it wasn't until we talked to someone tall that the confusion was sorted out. The food and service acceptable, but I would recommend standing or sitting at the high tables and beware of carbonated beverages.

Went here for my birthday lunch today, and what a gong show. The waitress seemed confused when my colleague asked for a juice that wasn't dispensed by the drink gun because she's allergic to chlorine. Not a great start. My drink came with a bit of crushed ice and it melted in my warm pop after 10 min or so. I'm keto so I asked for the taco salad to not have chips or the taco bowl, quite an easy request. After waiting for 45min for our meals, nothing that was complicated or even took a lot of cooking, (this wasn't even a busy time by the way) we got our meals. My taco salad had twice the amount of chips on it, quite sure the cook just threw an entire bags of chips on it and there was a handful of lettuce and 4 chicken strips. I sent it back, and requested that it just come in a take out bag as most of my friends had almost finished their meals by this point. Didn't get my second requested drink until several minutes later, my friend asked for salad dressing and didn't get that until she'd almost finished her meal. They would've received 1 star but the waitress got the cook to remake it, (no chips this time) and they comped my meal. Not the way I wanted my birthday lunch to go, but at least she made the effort.
I don't know if I'll go back to this location, they seem to be pretty apathetic all the time. Not the energy I'm looking for when I go into a restaurant.

First time at the Canadian Brewhouse, good atmosphere after the Eskimos game. Decent food and service

I came here today for dinner with my toddler and it was great. I was a bit worried about bringing a small child to a large sports pub, but they were as kid-friendly as anywhere else. Open to minors until 8, nice little kids menu, good service, good food, and the server was fantastic interacting with my son.

Aly was phenomenal! The dirty danglers were a treat and Aly made us feel right at home! There was a whole wack of us too (40+ people) which made the experience even more of a pleasant surprise. Full marks from this Mark!

A great place to grab some drinks and watch any game! Kaycee is a wonderful server that you can joke around with and she makes it a unique experience! Any day of the week they'll make it a fun time!

On Saturday may 25. My son and I went to the Canadian brewhouse downtown. We sat on the patio as it was a beautiful day out. Our servers name was kc. Kc’s demeanour and presence from the beginning of meeting her was amazing. She made my son smile instantly with how she interacted and made him feel like a vip customer. She always had a smile on her face that you could tell was genuine and was amazingly attentive to our needs. I’ve had good service before but she went above and beyond what I would ever expect. She was very down to earth and for how busy she was and always being on the go she made as much time for us as needed. We never had to ask for refills on drinks and even though our food did not take long at all she kept us posted and made sure we were comfortable and had enough carrots and ranch to Hold us over until our food came. She helped my sons experience by bringing him crayons and a colouring page and had games on the patio set up that she showed him, which he loved. Our experience was so amazing that this will be the only brewhouse we dine at from now on. The brewhouse here clearly has high standards in the servers they choose based on what I experienced in kc and was amazed. We were Extremely satisfied and privileged to have kc as a server!

Always a fun time at Brewhouse! Gave away a jersey for the raptors game tonight. Always great to go see free UFC fights. Great deals on food and alcohol.

You can't beat the food and service at this Canadian Brewhouse! Always look forward to their many different dishes they are all great and varied! You have to try the bacon wrapped Jalapenos! Service is what makes this place amazing because the staff is very friendly!

While they do serve beer in varying sizes and they have an okay selection their wings leave something to be desired and the volume of their music is way too loud. They do have a very interesting way of ordering so that deserves a check out but I won't be going back.

My car got stolen yesterday, and after a long day of searching for it, filing police reports, and so on, I was tired, hungry, and needed a drink. I decided to stop in at The Canadian Brewhouse for some cheap wings (since it's a Wednesday special there), and a beer (later finding out that they have $8 tankards (20oz) for every beer on tap on Wednesdays as well). Walking in while feeling upset, angry, and tired, I was greeted by the most polite, friendly, and amazing manager that I have ever met. She goes by Aly, and I can say with the utmost confidence that between her cheerful personality and friendly heart, she did everything that she could to cheer me up, and ensure that I enjoyed my time there. Moreover, my server (Caitlin) was also really amazing, and she too helped contribute to making my time there an enjoyable experience. The wings were delicious, the $8 20oz of Heineken was fantastic, and I don't know how the staff did it, but I managed to walk out of the restaurant smiling even after the terrible day that I had. 5 stars for the service, 5 stars for the food, and 5 stars for the specials. Thank you again to everyone there who helped me end last night on a good note.

Slow service on a not at all busy patio and the waitress was completely unorganized, forgot my food twice and still tried to charge me for it on the bill. Didn't apologize or offer anything to make up for it either. Average place, awful service.

Great place to grab food or drinks with some friends. Plenty of televisions as well and an especially fun atmosphere when watching local sports games!

Service is usually very good and the tables all have buttons on them which allow for prompt service!

Always our favorite place to go for lunch. The downtown Edmonton location allows kids until 8 p.m. So if you're looking for a good bruch place and have the kids with you don't hesitate to pop in!

Our order took forever. The food was cold and too salty. And worst of all the beer glasses had stains on them.

Food is okay but the explanation of what comes with the food at no extra cost is not clear as twice now when went, getting charged extra 2$ to 3$ for simple things like vegetables with wings or dip sauce and it seems, some days they are included and some days they’re not ‍️

What happened to this place it used to be great and full of energy, now all the staff look like they're high or something. You wait forever to get a bite to eat, and not a single bartender/waitress smiles and acts like they're in prison.

Hire mature people. This place looks like a high school cafeteria.

Didn't have the ingredients to make a Manhattan, or a rusty nail, which is fine (i had to tell him the ingredients) but the bartender hardly acknowledged me and then tried to charge my for a drink that he poured but said I couldn't drink it. Alpha douche ️

Would love to rate this place lower then one star but i cant sadly. Where do i begin. Well i bought five 20$ tickets to attend the Brewyears eve party online through the app EventBrite upon arrival at 10pm our party of five walked into a bar riddled with reserved signs on New Years eve and people were paying the 20$ cover at the door and then walking right past us and moving the reserved sign after paying for the 20$ ticket with debit at the door. To me that is beyond annoying and rude to have sold tickets to a customer online and then have no seating to accompany the people who bought tickets. We thought we were gonna get a table that could seat 6 that people finished up at and left and then we were about to sit down when a server came over and slapped another RESERVED sign on the table and said "sorry, this is reserved for my friends they will be here". At the point we left and all of this was within 15 min of arriving we PAID the cab fare and went to Average Joes in Sherwood Park where our table tab at the Brewhouse could of been 300$ in drinks like it was at AJs. I have requested a full refund through the app for the tickets I purchased. Looks as though another establishment is at it again with doing tickets and door cover at the same time. Last time i ever go to the brew house in Downtown Edmonton.

Had a great time with old friends, they are younger than me but I’ve known them for a while. We decided to go grab lunch and some drinks, our server, Ally soon made us feel like we were friends of the staff as well. This was a great first visit to this location and I’m excited to tell my mom.

Even though my server Jess was crazy busy she made sure she checked in with us constantly and made sure everything was amazing I had such an amazing experience, definitely will be coming back because of her

Came during an Oilers game and got immediate seating, which was wonderful.

The place was loud and muddy, but I can hardly fault them for that during a hockey game while it snowed.

Got the Doritos pizza which was a nice mix of crunchy and savoury. Server kept our drinks filled despite how tremendously packed the place was. She even got our bills promptly when we asked and, despite feeling rushed, was still courteous with us.

Overall a great experience.

One star is too many! I am a regular customer of this restaurant chain and have been to this location dozens of times. However this is the first time I've been in the evening and will reconsider if needing a place for dinner. We were the only table with children I noticed and it was almost as if we were ignored. Finally when the waitress arrived when the adult menus she looked at the kids and said oh are they eating, then had to bring kids menus. We waited for 20 minutes before she came back to take our drink order. We counted the number of times she went to the table just a few down from ours 5 times (beer delivery) before she came to take out order. Food arrived, tasting delicious as always but my sour cream for my taco salad was hot (temperature not spice) thought that was strange however I wasn't able to flag our waitress down so I used it anyways. She never came to our table to see how things were. Finally after another waitress cleared the table she arrived to give us our bill. I realize that customers that drink beer tend to spend more than those families that eat dinner but we are all customers And should be treated that way.
