Place is well laid out and there are employees to help guide you the right spot. Surprisingly nice place

For years, consistently the most helpful and joyful employees. Their Team makes coming to the dump a pleasure.

My husband and I went to this place today (Sat) at 4: 50pm, when it was feeling -23, to dispose of a microwave. All employees there were VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. I believe these are the kind of people that we should tip.kudos to the City of Calgary employees!

We unfortunately lost our family pet recently. Everyone I encountered with at the landfill were all professional, friendly and sensitive to our emotionally sensitive situation. Thank you for helping us with the burial of our pet.

The long haired dude that talks to you at the gate of the throw and go is fantastic! Such a nice guy!

This place is the best. I love going here, the staff are so friendly and high spirited. I always leave the landfill with a smile!

They are always so courteous at this location. Great staff. The dumping area is clean and they have a broom there for people to sweep out their truck or trailer. Very thoughtful. Highly recommend this location.

Took 3 loads of rotten old wood deck to dump. Twice a man came over and volunteered to help us seniors unload our trailer. Much appreciated. Good help is hard to find these days!

Good setup. Brutal hours. I don't mind paying, but banking hours and only a bit on Saturday? It's already time consuming to haul so far from SW. Your just putting a big barrier to people doing the right thing. No wonder people dump trash everywhere. City fail. You don't even need more hours, just shift a couple nights to open till 9.

This place smells bad and plus there is garbage everywhere, bad place to spend an afternoon with friends

I only had a few electronic items to recycle and this was only a one time shot that I was going to stop there since we are moving to Airdrie. Maybe it was just a great day for everyone or someone spiked the egg nog but every one was actually happy and helpful. The drop off area was large and it was easy to find the right spot for the electronics but the guy at the entrance had already given me great directions and was very pleasant. My wife calls it the "happy dump" now

We went to the Shepherd landfill today and I was very happy with the amazing help we received. Phil and two other gentlemen (one with a fantastic moustache) went over and above to help us unload the van. Phil was pleasant, happy, and absolutely wonderful! In a place where I usually have cranky service it was so amazing to have these men help us! Thank you so much for all your hard work, it really meant so much!

$25 minimum charge and $17 Freon charge to recycle a $80 water cooler. The City needs to do better at incentivizing people to do the right thing.

Scrap metal can be recycled for free, at various scrap metal dealers, why pay 20.00 bucks to the city?

As a side note. Lots of ignorant people dump thier trash in public spaces, cause thier 2 cheap to pay dump fees, in the past, loads under 250 kg we're free.

Two roads workers, a one ton truck cost the city more than a grace on loads under 250 kg.

Went to throw some tires (no charge)
Going in: Professional, informative, and to the point.
Throw ‘n’ Go: Easy to follow the signs, quite friendly even in the pouring rain.
Going out: Very friendly. The lady even gave my dog a treat.

I was just told that they don’t accept commercial waste and that the next location is 10 mins up Stoney trail. I asked if it was possible to make a one time exception and was told absolutely not. I was getting rid of a boxspring, deck box and a couple of hoses for a lady in a wheelchair.

The staff are rude, incompetent and in need of a serious attitude adjustment. I’ve been in customer service for years and have never come across this level of ignorance. Considering this is a city run facility, some customer service training should be mandatory for all staff to ensure proper representation of Calgary.

Would be better if groups of your employees weren't hiding behind buildings having little meetings. Seriously though, the city doesn't pay you to stand around with your arms crossed hands in pockets.
Or just wander around in circles staring at the ground. Very unprofessional. Though I wish I could have twenty + min breaks right before lunch. Lol!

What moron came up with these hours for the dump. Let me see. Not open on weekends and closed before 5pm when it is open. What moron came up with this. I need a name

Pretty helpful staff and easy to deal with. The charges are reasonable too I believe a $180/Ton.

Great team to deal with. Both at the gate and weighscale. Come during the week before noon for quickest access to drop and go bins. Make sure you can carry the rubbish as they have moved the curb stops in front of the bins and you can no longer tip off. Paint drop off is by the drop and go.
