Stumbled in on a live jazz jam session. Chicken and waffles and some good cocktails round out a Thursday evening nicely

Husband and I Popped in for a quick dinner after work. Enjoyed some daily special tacos and Mac n Cheese off the happy hour menu with a draft beer. Very tasty food and decent happy hour prices. Would highly recommend! We will likely be coming back for another dinner with family or friends sometime!

We ordered the wings and they were good. The waitress was kind. The only thing I was really uncomfortable with was the tv had some movie playing where these guys kept hitting the women. It was causing me a lot of trauma bringing up past memories. If I want to watch a movie like that I would like to on my own terms not causally at a bar. We would have liked to have been sat in the actual dining area as well. We were sat by ourselves in a corner. Wasnt my favorite experience. But the server was really kind and we did enjoy the wings.

Went here for a friendly date and we think:

Service - 6/10 as we entered we were seated right away which was a bonus, however no waiter/waitress was greeting us nor offered us water to start. We kept raising our hands but they were just ignoring us.

Food - 8/10 it didn’t give us that wow factor but the food was delicious. Chicken and waffles was amazing it was tender and just perfect. The steak tartare was good and the deviled eggs. However, I ordered the surf and turf. The croquette was a burned a little so I couldn’t enjoy it much and the shrimp was just way too salty. But overall the food was great!

The Poutine was basic. Nothing spectacular.and it was salty as all hell. But we did order the Deviled Eggs. Delicious.

The uninspiring descriptions on the menu nearly made us leave before ordering! Luckily our server was a delight and recommended some items- SO HAPPY WE STAYED! Food was out of this world.

What a great space! Was at the AWE event this evening. The space is so beautiful. Love the ambiance. The service, food and drinks were fabulous. Looking forward to my next event there!

I would bathe in the squash soup i had tonight. It was so so delicious. My friend said the fish and chips were great as well! And the service was perfection! Thanks so Much!

Atmosphere is awesome. The live music on Wednesdays is a must see. Wasn’t too fond of the goat cheese cheesecake however the service was great.

The Common is so good, that even though I live in the country, I'm planning my next visit. I went with three other people and we each tried a bit of each other's food, and every bite was unbelievably delicious! Even with loving my selection, I was jealous of everyone else's too. It's a shame my stomach isn't bigger, then I could order so many dishes!

One of the good place in town to have nice drink and food. Evenings are busy with a lot of nice peoples. Diversity, french speaker too. It's not cheap but it's worth it. I will come back next trip!

A great venue. Delicious food. There's usually an old school DJ playing. A good place to catch the vibes Edmonton offers.

No respect for nearby residents. I am 60 meters away, but I might as well be smack dab in the middle of the dance floor. The outdoor speakers on the back patio face directly into my apartment. The owner thinks I should move to an acreage if I can’t handle city noise, but the traffic noise is barely audible here, except when punctuated by emergency response vehicles or loud motorcycles or the odd bout of honking. The difference is that those vehicles pass by and aren’t parked right outside my balcony making noise for four hours straight. In fact, I’ve kept all my windows wide open all spring and summer, day and night, and have never been bothered by “city noise”. If they could face the speakers in towards their own establishment, that may help, but I suspect they don’t because then it would be too loud for them to handle. It’s not ambient music to dine by, it’s concert level loud, loud, LOUD music. I can’t understand why more thought wasn’t put into speaker placement. Couldn’t they be aimed towards 99 Avenue? I’m all for a vibrant downtown also, part of which depends on the people who live here. I suspect I won’t be coming by for a beer and burger anytime soon. I feel for businesses that have struggled during COVID, and I wish the owner a speedy bounce-back. I’m just not willing to sacrifice all -or any, for that matter-of my Friday and Saturday evenings to that end. Please do something to make it reasonably acceptable for those who live in the neighborhood. UPDATE: The recent havoc and noise in the neighbourhood from the “freedom convoy” hopefully gives the Common a taste of its own medicine. Maybe they’ll be a bit more sympathetic in the future to the noise issues they cause for residents. UPDATE to UPDATE: This is my second summer here, the first was unbearable because of the outdoor patio. This summer has been awesome without the outdoor patio goings-on. I wish you all the best, and hope you recover from COVID times. I might see you someday, if you are open to serve lunch before the dance music starts up.

Codiner and I experienced a "Trolley Ride" over the High Level Bridge and enjoyed a snack from Filistix plus samples from two seperate casks provided by a pair of Albert craft breweries. Afterwards we went to The Common to have a couple of pints and some food (the fish and chips were crunchy delicious). The interior is sort of retro/ comfortable. There are three areas, inside, a bar and a dining space and a social dancing space. We decided to sit at the east facing outdoor patio, given the nice weather (do note it sits right against the sidewalk and road). The menu to is varied, prices are reasonable, and service was great.

I ordered the brisket burger off skip the dishes. And it wasn’t cooked it was not even pink it was more red. Skip the dishes only refunded me half the meal. Not enough enough to purchase a replacement meal.

I went to the common tonight for a drink and it was great! Shoutout to the friendly hostess Adama, who was really kind and encouraged me to try something new! She definately made me want to go back! The rest of the staff were great too! Thanks to my bar tender!

Came here for a bite to eat on Canada Day had a meowgarita (watermelon) and a burger with fries the gf had a beef dip. The fries were meh but the burger I think it's the best burger I've ever had (besides my own) and from a bar! One bite and I was in love! Service was good too gf enjoyed the heck outta her beef dip the drinks were tasty. I'd love to come back and try the stroganoff.

The Common offered a great patio experience! The interior of the restaurant seems super cool though! I ordered the prairie fish and chips and it was outstanding! Fries were salted to perfection and crispy! The fish had a tasty batter and was tender with a crispy outside! Food came out extremely fast and s/o to our server who great and friendly!

The Common is alright. I have been coming here for a few years now and have never had a bad experience.

On my last visit I enjoyed the fish and chips, which were prepared well and presented in an appetizing fashion. I do wish the French fries were perhaps a little bit less fried, they seemed slightly over crisp but that may just be a preference.

Their happy hour is pretty good, and they always have a nice selection of beers.

The room has a fantastic vibe that would suit a romantic date or a “Girls Night” really well. It feels intimate and special, kind of like how The Manor (RIP) used to be.

The other food selections are appetizing, and there is a nice variety, from small plates to heavier courses.

Went here for a celebration dinner with a few co-workers. It was my first time. Really liked the atmosphere and our server was outstanding. The food however was disappointing. One of my biggest pet peaves is when my food doesn't arrive to the table hot. Well this was the case with my Beef Wellington I ordered. One of my co-workers also ordered the Beef Wellington and she had the same problem. All the food on the plate was just warm, like it had been sitting. Typically I'd send it back, but I didn't want to wait to eat and have my co-workers finished by the time it came. As for taste, the food was good. Value is okay for what you got. I wish there would have been a bit more sides. Maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen but based on my first experience, I likely won't be back or recommend.

Went here for dinner, drinks and dancing. The drinks and food were quite good - we ordered the Poblano Perogies, Pad Thai Fries (both of which were absolutely delicious) - we also ordered Whiskey Smash, Beastly, Pimm's Cup, It Wasn't Me, Sazeracocoa, Serenity Now, Frosted Cosmo, and 2 draught beers - each drink was well made and balanced perfectly. Our server was a young Caucasian girl who wore glasses, she was super nice, helpful, insightful, and checked on us frequently. The bar had a nice ambiance, and the fact that there's no seating time limit is even nicer. The dj started around 930, and dancing started shortly after. The music wasn't really to our taste, so we danced for a little while, grabbed some drinks, and then left. Would definitely recommend this place if you want some good food, and drinks.

A disgusting show of bartenders and waitresses who think they own the city. Trashy people and trashy vibes.

One of my favourite places to eat and chill in the city. Great atmosphere and vibe. The food is always tasty and the service is on point. It’s also one of my favourite party spots to hang out with friends!

You can request a private room for free, which is great for parties (adult only of course). Very accommodating.

Absolutely the BEST chicken wings in Edmonton with a variety of great sauces.

My first and only time coming to enjoy this establishment was an unpleasant experience and the hostess unfortunately was extremely rude. Would not recommend to my friends and family

Chicken was heavily undercooked and we couldn't notice from the amount of breading they overstacked on the chicken. Got very sick soon after eating and gave us salmonella. Has to be from here as nothing else was eaten during the day. Extremely disappointing based on the price of the food and the expectation that the food you eat at a restaurant will be safe.

Planned to go here for dinner on Saturday after heading down to the legislative building to support the freedom movement. They weren't open like their business hours stated. We were definitely frustrated as I was looking forward to trying their food after reading reviews. Very disappointing as there were so many of us looking for places to eat and relax after lots if walking.

Unreal experience every time I am here. The back alley patio set up in the summer was a hidden gem in Edmonton. Saturday DJ sets were unreal. The art inside, amazing tunes, unreal service and food to die for keep bringing me back! Great for a party or an intimate dinner.

The Common is a great hidden gem in Edmonton! I’ve taken lots of people for their first visits and often it ends up becoming one of their favourite places to go! We used to come all the time on the weekends to do dinner and then we would stick around for the great music and dancing as well! ️

It was my birthday and when the tables were cleared away, one of my gifts was taken away with it and they couldn't find it when we called then back a few days later. No attempt to resolve.

Always fun and nice. The Common’s private room for bookings has always been nice. Have been to a couple private events there. Always a blast. The horderves are always great!

I haven't been to The Common in a very long time. I was there on a Wednesday, which is wine Wednesday and enjoyed the perks of half price wine and of happy hour with a half order of Mac & Cheese with a side salad. Probably the best salad I've ever had, the flavors were amazing. I was trying to figure our the spices the whole time I was eating it and the Mac and cheese was creamy it was delicious. Add to the whole experience exceptional service, how can you go wrong. Oh and did I mention the great beer selection if you prefer beer. Lots of local craft beers to choose from. Will definitely be back.

My friends and I had a great time on the patio at the Common. I felt safe and I enjoyed the AMAZING grilled cheese. The service was great. We will definitely be back.

Always a great time at the common! Just know that the kitchen closes at 11pm and drinks are served till about 1: 30-1: 45am. No cover till 11pm and then it's $7 per person.

We attended our niece's wedding at this location. The staff were friendly, the food was good (Indian and Western hors d'oeuvres) and the ambiance of the party room was romantic. There were approximately 35 guests and 12 in the wedding party and it was very comfortable in there.

Nice place to chill with friends, good music too. Food was okay, not great but will try something else next time before I make up my mind completely.

It was ok, alittle packed for me. Not to much walking space. Nor dancing space. Music varies from whats playing. The regular music DJ isn’t great at all. The vibe is weird here. Its like 30 or older with a few 40+ hitting on young girls (25 or younger) not sure what the hype is about. Its a no from me

Fabulous atmosphere. The most friendly servers ever, and the food is incredible. The patio extention couldn't have come at a better time! I absolutely love this place.

Trendy Downtown gastro-pub that specialises in cocktails and craft beer. The fish and chips were really good and the staff were personable. Not a bad place to go early and stay for the party that appeared to be getting underway when we left at 9pm. I suspect it gets pretty bumpin by 10

I’m came here yesterday and had a nice experience. Chicken and waffles were different but good. I had the lavender lemonade. It was really good. We had wonderful wait staff. Would come again!

Overall I couldn't find a single thing wrong. Thank-you to everyone who worked that night and helped make it the evening it was. We are all so grateful.

Chicken and waffles special on Monday with a beer was $17 (regular $13 without a beer). The chicken did not disappoint. Generous portion, great waffles, rhubarb reduction was not too sweet. Grilled zucchini salad was pricey for the portion but a nice change from other basic salads. Everyone was friendly and service was prompt.

I had a spinach salad with breaded sweet potato dimes with dollops of pesto. Very delicious. Also, they serve a fish and chips dish for their partner neighbour restaurant, Grandin Fish & Chips. However, their menu seems to be always changing, so you can check out what is new! They also have an extensive drinks menu and great little patio area. Plus, large windows inside, if you want a semi-patio environment without being outside.

Had the pork shoulder, wasn't very good. Vegtables werent cooked properly or fully. Serving staff was friendly enough, but the food and the prices didnt match for quality at all. Heard the fish and chips was okay

Surprised this place has a good rating honestly, not big enough portions for the 5 meals I saw served at my table either.

We had my parents 40th anniversary here and couldn't have asked for a better venue. The staff was helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process. My dad is severely celiac and the staff ensured his meal would be prepped and cooked gluten-free. The food was tasty, the drinks were great and the service was incomparable. Highly recommend this location for any get-togethers!

The chicken and waffles dish was not good, not sure how you can mess up something so simple. Such small portions of chicken and bland hardly cooked waffles. Just stick it in a toaster please!

The plus side of this place was the atmosphere and the service. The drinks were great and our waitress was very attentive and accommodating. Be aware the place does turn into a bar after 10pm so make sure to get out of there before then if you're only going for a meal.

I feel really insulted walking into an empty bar just to use the atm and the guy at the door insists on holding my driver's license hostage till I'm done at the ATM. Maybe it's their standard protocol, maybe they've just been robbed by another black guy prior to me coming in.
Doesn't change how it made me feel.

Went for the Mad Bombers Society show and the venue was great. The food how ever not so great. I ordered the poutine and soup if the day. Both very bland and tasteless. I'd go back for drinks but not food.

Beer selection was good. Did not enjoy the food I ordered with the exception of the truffle popcorn.i don't see the 2 dishes I ordered on the menu any more - the pasta was served with so much fat and grease. The salad was not a salad but rather canned and pickled veggies with a few greens on top. Atmosphere was nice. I would come back for a drink only.

Had an amazing valentines day dinner at the common with our server Eboney. She gave us incredible service despite our young age. Eboney treated us just like any other customer, something we don't experience everywhere we go. All around best server of 2019. Thanks Eboney!

It was excellent. The "long beans" was GREAT, and I HATE green beans! I liked the service and being surrounded by house plants.

Had the latest version of the chicken and waffles last night. Fried chicken served on a rosemary waffle, topped with goat butter and an orange sauce, the smell was divine. Forgot to take photos, excuse to go back soon.
