Thank God they got shut down, but unfortunately my deck is not completely done and they have my money. Jim Slater is the owner and I'm beginning to think he has done this before

Not sure what the status is but we ordered and paid for composite product to be ordered. They have not answered their phone in November and today we tried and it’s disconnected. Think we’ve been taken advantage of by a business closing their doors.

I worked there, worst customer service rules I've seen. Drove by today moving out looks like. Customer first gets business clearly their policy ends businesses. Hope nobody is out money

We've been disappointed with how disorganized the Fiberon distributor and the Deck Store have been. We ordered decking in the Spring and are still waiting on 20% of the boards. The worst part has been the lack of follow-up from the Deck Store. The Fiberon distributor argues with the Deck Store as to where the materials are, supposedly. We just want to finish it and never deal with either company again.

Horrible company to deal with!

I ordered material on June 23,2023 and am still waiting to receive it. Every time I call to get an update, they are unable to give me an update and say will call back and never do. I don't understand how hard it is to call someone back or check the status.

Probably the worst customer service I have experienced, I would highly recommend staying away from this business. They never have product and can’t tell you when they’ll have more, excuse after excuse. I’m surprised they are still in business

Tried to order composite decking through the Deck Store. Order was supposed to be delivered mid June. After waiting 4 weeks with no responses as to where my material is, I asked to cancel my order and was told it would be delivered in two days. Two days later nothing was delivered and I was told they do not have the material. Would not ever do business with the Deck Store again and would advise anyone else to do the same. Zero phone calls or emails back after trying to get a hold of someone about my order the past 4 weeks

Edit: currently trying to receive a refund for the product they could not get to me and it has been 2 weeks. Nobody will call me back to process a refund. Worst business interaction I have ever had. Highly suggest going elsewhere

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! AVOID!

Went into the store looking for a one stop shop for a customer, was told 10 days or so from the time you order, it will be delivered.
I gave them 3.5 weeks and still no delivery. I called them and they told me the day before delivery that the materials weren’t in. I spent the next month and abit chasing Warren and Justin to get my customers composite boards.
A month later still no hand railings and again I’m chasing Justin down having to call for updates. No emails no phone calls no nothing. They had an excuse every time, when I finally got ahold of them.
Today my customers railings were delivered, but the privacy screen was missing and the posts for it and they shorted me length on hand railing.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRELIABLE, DISORGANIZED

Not even sure how this place is staying in business. All the reviews I've read are the same complaints we have. They now won't answer our contractor or my husband's calls. Very unprofessional. They lie about timelines and have zero communication about anything. We were told 2 weeks ago our railing would be in and delivered by now. Still nothing and no one will answer our calls. Find another store to buy your deck supplies from.

May 27,2023 placed an order with our contractor for the material. Was told 10 business days to get material in, couple days before the material was supposed to be delivered we get a call from the deck store saying there was an error on the quote and they didn’t add enough connectors for the railing and said that we would have to pay for this when we said no cause it wasn’t our error, fast forward to June 17,2023 material was supposed to delivered that day so the contractor could install on that weekend only to find out the company either never placed the order or whatever happened. Get told the material is supposed to be coming in any day and that they would get it delivered to our house asap. June 25 and still no delivery and nobody will give an answer as to when the product is supposed to be delivered. I would never recommend this company to anyone. The lack of communication, the lack of knowledge, the terrible customer service will have me never go through them again!

This company was hired to install cable railing at my house on Sylvan Lake. They installed half of it in June 2022 and then said they ran short on supplies and did not complete the job. It is now May 31,2023 and the job is still not complete. We have been in the house since Sept 2022 and have 3 little kids running around on a deck with non installed railing.

I have attempted to call Justin Hays at least 5 times and have left messages for him to call me back to find out why there has been such a delay and he has never returned my calls.

Unfortunately this company has been paid in full from my house builder and they have zero interest in completing the job to a point that my house builder is ordering extra supplies and doing it themselves.

Do not use this company. Classic trades people.complete half the job when they knew they didn't even have the supplies to finish the job in the first place.

Very disappointed in how I was treated.

I don’t know what to say or where to begin.

Started great but at this point, I have no idea if they are trying to play a fast one on me or have no contractors to install the materials that I HAVE PAID for or what? ! I am left in the dark with no updates. I have to chase after them for updates.

Paid for glass in the Summer of 2022. This is 2023 and there is no glass installed on my deck. The hideaway screen parts are missing/not complete. I am very upset as any sane person would.

I will update this as things progress.

Update: I had to show up at their showroom without notice to ask them for an update. They apologized and explained that they lost a contractor, and will send someone to my site to complete the job. Long story short - the job is now complete but I will be hesitant about giving them another project in the future. I don’t appreciate the lack of communication from any contractor.

In my opinion, the excellent part of their service was 95% based on the artisan who worked on my project - Paul. He did an amazing job and deserves a shout out, wherever he is now. He was passionate about my project and I saw that passion in the finishing and attention to detail.

BUYER BEWARE! Purchased decking in August. Still nothing and won’t refund our purchase. Do not waste your money or time. Much better companies out there!

The team at The Deck Store was very helpful. We had been thinking about replacing our deck for a few years and had some ideas of what we wanted. Warren guided us in the right direction, so thanks to him. Justin alleviated any concerns of ours for the deck to be able to support pergolas and a hot tub that we want to add down the road. Pierre, their contractor, also had some good advice and kept us in touch with anything he wanted to add. All in all the experience ended well. We love our new deck and that will continue for years to come.
