The Foot Institute - Edmonton Foot Clinic

Dr. Joshua Leavitt is the best damn foot doctor I've ever had. I've seen three others prior to visiting The Foot Clinic and the improvement I've had is night and day. We need more doctors like Dr. Leavitt as they really want to treat you and not just out to get your money.

Dr. Levitt and his assistant are probably the worst in the industry. There is no follow up after seeing me and knowing something went wrong with my surgery. His assistant was extremely rude and didn't want to acknowledge my pain at all. "we are busy" and hanging up on me. I would love to have his license and her fired. Noone seems to care

Aug 31. Here is an updated photo of that hack job. Nail is still growing back and looks terrible.run don't walk walk. Do not go there. The right toe nail is growing out slowly as well.

I did come in and I did try calling. Please read the review. Your clinic is highly unprofessional, and he still insists that there was no infection when 7 other Dr. Said that there was. I had no desire to ever see any of you again and choose to pay others to look after me going forward. Please do not try to defend your actions.

Came from out of town for a severe ingrown, as treatment options in Northern BC are lackluster to say the least. Dr. Young and his assistant were super helpful and treated me same day, as well as book me in for a follow up in GP so I wouldn't have to drive as far. This is the most positive Healthcare experience I have had in recent years and I highly recommend this clinic for any foot issues! Will personally be coming back if anything new ever happens.

I went to see Dr. Joshua Leavitt, and it was hands down the worst medical experience I’ve had in my life. From the first moment, I knew I had made a mistake coming here. Firstly… While in the reception room, over hearing the staff talk to patients was cold, and distant. A lady came in to pay $6000 bill and reception basically treated her like she was barely standing in front of them (keeping their business afloat) it was purely transactional and cold. By the time I had my appointment, which was a 30-40 minute wait from my original appointment time, I was debating just getting up and leaving. When I saw Joshua Leavitt, he didn’t even greet me, I was the one who had to say hello, he just blankly stared at me. He touched my foot for a total of 5 seconds without manipulating it at all, and told me I’ll develop arthritis from this injury and there’s nothing I can do. No offer of a brace or anti inflammatory medication. I had to champion for myself to get a x-ray, and when I went to get it done, I found out Joshua Leavitt had ordered the incorrect x-ray for my issue. I left that building nearly in tears because of their lack of empathy and basic manners. I can’t say for certain this doctor was discriminating against me, but my intuition tells me he was, I’d be interested if other people of colour have had negative experiences with this specific podiatrist…his behaviour was so negative, it was so unfounded I was left questioning what made him so unprofessional. Eitherway, one thing is for certain… he should not be working at this establishment if that’s the energy he brings to his job.
I went to another podiatrist at a different clinic a week later and had an awesome experience (Strathcona Foot and Ankle clinic off whyte ave), where the doctor ACTUALLY inspected my foot, prescribed medication and built a brace for my foot. Avoid this place like the plague!

This place is out for your money and that's it. We took my son and they charged over $700 for the flimsiest "orthotics". We were told we could come back in a month if they weren't working. When we called a few weeks later, the "doctor" was not available and the front staff had no idea what we were talking about amd there are no refunds. Avoid these scammers at all costs

The doctor I saw came in from Edmonton, he was great. Knew what was happening with my foot and friendly. Told him my job is very laborious, I walk on concrete all day, use step stools, ladders, bend, crouch, kneel, etc. The orthotics I received were very comfortable, at first. Might've received 3 months of relief, if I was lucky and told easy 10-15 years they would last. So needless to say for $650-700 spent on these orthotics and get very little time out of them, left me frustrated, discouraged, unimpressed, among other things. Oh and I still need to get new orthotics and find out what else is happening with my feet, cuz with the ones I had, they helped with one issue and another issue popped up.

Dr. Mandel was amazing. He was very personable and after seeing him it was the first time in years that I had no toe pain when I walked. I highly recommend him.

I can not speak more highly of the treatment I received from Dr. Young & staff. I was seen quickly, given the correct diagnosis & treatment promptly for osteomyelitis. I also opted for bunionectomy surgery with excellent results. The clinic environment is one of teamwork & caring. Keep up the good work. Would highly recommend!

Ok so ill try and be point form and not ramble on to much.

- Dr Young is a knowledgeable podiatrist with good personable patient skills. That's the positive
- There orthotics service is not good. They scan you and send you on your way. No assessment of gait or anything like that. The attention to detail is poor when your spending $600. Had two pairs now through the company and both times Im not satisfied.
- This place runs like an assembly line. If they book you at 4pm you will likely get in at around 5pm. They simply book to many appointments to provide on time quality service.
- I considered going back recently but decided not too. Its a free market, go look for the better service provider even if I liked the doctor.

The staff at The Foot Institute were extremely helpful and made me feel comfortable throughout my appointment.

Great clinic. Very nice and clean. Dr Mandal had a lot of patients and took the time to explain my options. He was very clear about not pushing unnecessary treatment. Will be back to try out Windermere location.

From start to finish, this place is a complete yes! The front office staff are not only awesome but fun, friendly, and efficient. They were super kind! I had a nasty, infected ingrown toenail. Dr Joshua Leavitt at Edmonton Foot Clinic numbed me up. He was super friendly and had me out of there with a smile on my face in no time. If you are thinking of going to the Foot Clinic, GO! GREAT! FANTASTIC! A+

I, unfortunately, ruptured (snapped) my Achilles tendon while snowboarding this winter and started the prolotherapy. I learned a lot as well, which has helped significantly with the healing process. Thanks again, and I recommend Dr Richard Mandal at Edmonton Foot Clinic. Very accommodating, kind and knowledgeable.

Had my toe fixed, super phobic of needles and have a bad case of white coat syndrome. Doctor Mandal was amazing and helped me through the entire process.

Dr. Young has phenomenal bedside manner and was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the procedure to me thoroughly and provided some of the best medical care I have ever received. Would definitely recommend him to others. Five stars for him.

The clinic's reception desk, however, leaves much to be desired. The staff at the front desk were not friendly, and when I called to book my appointment, I was told I would need to come in for a consultation then make a second appointment where the procedure would be performed. So I was very surprised when I showed up for my initial consultation and had the procedure performed immediately after. I felt caught off guard (wrong shoes, immediate $600 bill, plans that evening, etc.) and it would have been helpful to know in advance and be prepared. It seems there was some miscommunication from their reception. Still, I went with it and was happy to have the procedure done.

I've been a patient of Foot Institute for over 5 years. Dr Richard is the best podiatrist I've been to- very gentle, concerned and caring. I keep going back for all my foot problems no matter how big or small.

Explained the procedure to me clearly. Pleasant demeanor. I would recommend him without hesitation. Office staff responds promptly.

Dr.makes me feel very comfortable with anything he decides to do with my feet so far he is the best.

Stated. On the phone I wanted laser treatment for toenail fungus. Got to the appointment and was told they don’t do it. Waste of time.

To the reply below. That's fine if you don't Believe it. Then take it off your website. I was told you can't find people to run the laser. Be honest.

Their receptionists need some anger management and they need to be train again. Very unprofessional!

Writing this review late but i had an ingrown toenail removed a while ago and I just have to say it was very well done, they helped us greatly and it was virtually painless!

My Treatment with Brent was excellent. He is gentle and patient as well as informative. I would highly recommend The Foot Institution.

Richard is extremely knowledgeable and very kind and good with patients. You genuinely feel like he wants to help patients and not charge through the roof in the process. I would recommend The Foot Institution to anyone looking for a podiatrist!

I don't know why I waited so long to get my fungus infected toenail finally removed. Got it done and was painless. The best part is my feet don't smell bad anymore and looks like my nail is growing back.

I have seen Dr Richard for years and he is the best for my whole family and some of my friends go to see him. He's very nice and understanding we love, love, love him couldn't ask for a better Dr there!

Terrible communication between staff and clients. Sit in waiting room for an hour only to be told the orthodics never came in on time. Do yourself a favour and find anywhere else to go.

The doctors in Foot Institute are highly experienced. They are very kind and genuine. My Podiatrist eased me and gave me comfortable, while performing surgery. I am recovering now. I highly recommend their service.

I got severe pain on my toe. Doctors called it as Neuromas. I just wanted to get relieved form this discomfort. I took my treatment in “Foot Institute”. They suggested me for surgery. After surgery, I felt good. The surgery along with scanning, prescription fees are very much affordable and it fitted my bill. Thanks for helping me. Dr. Mandal is a fantastic Podiatrist. I went to The Foot Institute in order to see if there was any hope for my ankle which kept getting re-injured after I severely sprained it 10 years ago. Dr. Mandal offered me three different treatment options. I chose prolotherapy, which Dr. Mandal is uniquely qualified in. After three sessions my ankle was stronger than ever and pain free. Was just at the foot institute to have my first appointment at this clinic. Dr Schnoor is a good doctor but the receptionist/assistant was very abrupt and not as accomodating to my questions and cuts me off and very dismissive. I work in a medical field as well and I dont make our patients feel dismissed, but instead we take our time with them. Not a very good first impression. Left disappointed.

Haven tried a lot of remedies for my foot, I had exhausted most of my options but I was in luck as I was introduced to Foot Institute via a friend and I must say I am glad I didn’t give up.

The doctor was great and supplied me with orthotics although I was very disappointed in the office assistants. I submitted the paperwork I was given to my benefits and after a week it was declined because of the lack of paperwork. I called the Foot Institute back to ask for the rest of the paperwork and they were at their Spruce Grove location, so I called there and the chart wasn't there but they would get it done by the end of the week. I gave them a week and I didn't receive anything. So I called back, and they forgot and promised it for the next day. Still didn't happen, I called back after a few more days and finally after two weeks of chasing them they sent it. The worst part being, my benefits didn't accept the paperwork because it is too late. Now I am stuck with a 560 dollar bill (that should have been fully covered) because they didn't supply me with the proper paper work in the first place and didn't get back to me in a timely matter.
