The Grizzly Paw Pub - Downtown Location

Went in not sure what to expect. I knew I wanted to try the ribs, but being a big guy I’m always a little skeptical on portions going into a place. THIS PLACE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! When the waitress showed up with my full rack of St. Louis BBQ ribs my jaw dropped. A large plate absolutely covered with meat. I shed a single tear before diving in. They tasted amazing and I left stuffed (which doesn’t happen). Service was great. An overall wonderful experience.

This is easily THE BEST restaurant in Canmore. Every time I visit Canmore I come to this restaurant and every time I leave happy. The food here is great and there is something for everyone! They offer gluten free options too! Along with the great food their drinks are a must try. All of their craft beers are great. If you aren’t in beer like I am, I would recommend the Grizzly Greyhound. Also, they have amazing craft pops so if you are visiting with kids there is something for them to try too!

I have been coming here since 2018 and this review is long over due. Amazing place. You have to stop here or the second location! The beer sampler and soda sampler is my favourite.

Which was the feature burger with the kale ceaser salad. It was flavorful, and so good. Also has the evolution IPA which paired nicely.

Don’t recommend the food here. Had the smoked boneless short rib and sweet honey fried chicken. Both meals had an old meat smell to them. Was looking forward to eating here because of the reviews, but it was not good at all.

Nice pub to have few drinks with friends. Nice atmosphere and service was good. The food tasted good too.

Great spot for self or family. The four of us shared fish and chips, a beet salad and flatbread. Our son had a kids cheeseburger. He LOVED the ketchup!

Six orders; all came out delicious. Kids happy, adults happy. My jerk chicken sandwich was so good and I appreciate the fresh cut fries. Service was also very good. Beers are reliably solid; not mind blowing but I prefer that to experimental.

Matty was the man of the hour! If you’re coming to this establishment, please ask for this fine gentleman to serve you. Not to mention the food and bevs were also incredible. You’ll be seeing us again!

Nice microbrewery with a nice outdoor area on Canmore's "Food Mile". If the weather is good, bring a waiting time of approx. 15 minutes. We ate salads (fresh and filling), burgers (juicy), and tacos with lots of pulled pork. Everything was tasty, the portions manageable. The service is friendly and attentive and often comes around with the water jug. If you like beer, you should try the homemade varieties. The only downside is the high volume inside the restaurant. Otherwise: go!

Great spot for some all on house beer. Food was good to. Lots of selections. Fish and chips were money. Also the burger was good.

Big burgers, baller beer, and over a half-pound of poutine, this place will satisfy your post-hike hunger.

I recommend the Evolution IPA or its low-ABV counterpart, the Rundlestone.

Amazing pub, well located in downtown Canmore.

Service is very quick and friendly, the prices are reasonable, the food is great and the servings are HUGE. You definitely get more than you pay for!

The sodas and food at Grizzly Paw are amazing. They change the menu from time to time, which is nice unless you're craving something you had previously. Staff are really friendly and service is quick, even when it's packed. Expect to wait a while for a table if you go at peak times, though and there are better beers brewed elsewhere in Canmore if that's your thing.

We had an wonderful experience here! Service was so friendly, and quick. Beer was absolutely fantastic! As was our appys — korean cauliflower and the chips and salsa.

Great beer, but they seem reluctant to refill growlers. Kind of frustrating having growlers you can't use.

Another update: still good for and service. Good beer. But the prices!

We ordered take out at this location. The order took about 15min and the food tasted great! The pick up location is on the left side of the restaurant. Next time we’ll definitely sit in! The pulled pork burger with fries was amazing!

Great spot for lunch! We sat on the street patio and enjoyed the views. The chips and salsa and kale salad were delicious!

Nice patio on a hot day, our server seemed overwhelmed and not very chatty.

Great poutine and the shandy was nice for 30+ degree weather

Stopped by here going back to Calgary from Banff. Low stars due to low food quality. Never had a worse bison burger and my son who's 10 cited he's never had a worse burger. We're well aware of Canada's LAW that burgers have to be well done (yikes!). Menu said "home made patties" which I figured the quality would've been great, but nope. Waitress had to be flagged down multiple times, instead of proactive check-ins. Would've been happy to rate better, but food was priority #1 for us.

We loved stopping in at Grizzly Paw during our stay in Canmore. Their food was delicious and the beers were even better! We had the poutine with pulled pork and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Soooo tasty! The service was great, everyone was really friendly. We sat both inside and outside and enjoyed the atmosphere of both. Definitely stop in for beers or for a lunch/dinner. I recommend getting a beer flight so you can try more options! We liked everything we tried, we even grabbed cans to take with us too.

Our family have always liked the Paw since our 1st visit. Dad would always have the Bison burger. I had a beef one this time.why have a chain burger when you can get something way better for a bit more? Home brewed beers are excellent, service has always been good and on an sunny evening like this week there is a good atmosphere with people chewing the fat after work. I'd always pop in if visiting Canmore!

Fun friendly pub. Good food and efficient service.

I don't generally like craft beers however this place had a great selection.

Suggest booking upstairs if you want a view- no seats available when we visited.

Definitely recomend as a good option if you are in the area. And would go again.

First star for the server was nice, second star for the beer.
We ordered the nachos, wings, poutine.
Nachos is quite plain, wings are dry and dipping is not good taste, poutine’s gravy is so bland.

Great patio space. I went there with a couple friends and we shared a pitcher of their own cider. It was delicious, very English in style, tart & cloudy. Absolutely loved it. Friendly service as well. Can’t comment on the food. The music is a little loud on this patio but other than that, it’s a great spot.

The service is always great, the vibe is friendly and relaxed! The food is nice and the beers are great. Overall it's a great stop after a long hike and a hot day! I wished the portions were more balanced, the minuscule ramequin of coleslaw was a little bit sad in the middle of the mountains of fries! But maybe it's just a personal preference. Would go back.

Loved the food, drinks and vibe here. It’s in middle of downtown with great views. We had to wait for around 40 minutes for the table on the weekend but it was totally worth it. The Korean cauliflower are a must try. The french fries are delicious too. The mock tails were surprisingly different and refreshing. The service was quick and everything was perfect.

The first time I had this beer after a hike was four years ago, and it was good. Recently, I've tried it again and I have to say, now that it's nice and cool, it's really hitting the spot. What's great about their brewery is that they offer a range of low-alcohol beers, perfect for post-hike refreshment. Their beer has a distinct taste that reminds me of European beers, especially their Lemon Shandy which is a real German-style radler, a mix of beer and lemonade.
