I'm not even kidding, their chicken platter was awful. Not fresh at all, completely drenched in sauces. Chicken had a wierd smell. I asked the lady if it's fresh twice and she lied. Halal guys Calgary is a total fail.

Got the shwarma, it was really good. The lady, working by herself was really nice. The management should really think about appointing at least one more employee at a time.

I love the way they do it in authentic style. Huge thanks to lady working there. Delicious food!

I had heard about it but honestly you will not find value for money! Their food is below average on a much higher price!

MAJORITY OF THESE REVIEWS, are them prior to getting the food because you get a free drink if you review well. They charge you for hot sauce. Like where do they do that at? It’s like charging for ketchup. The lady there was annoyed despite the fact I was being so kind to her. I was so confused. The food is alright. But that lady really needs to change her attitude.

I had the beef platter. It wasn't a good experience. Meat tasted processed, very salty, and too much pepper. Food was cold. I couldn't finish the food it was just too salty. Waste of money.

After hearing about this place opened in downtown I was very excited to try out. Went over the weekend and ordered the Combo platter which includes Chicken, Beef Gyro and Falafel with rice, salad and sauce. The falafel were the best. I had in USA before, this didn’t turned out as good as I thought it would be.

Not worth the value. Had a regular falafel platter - the falafels are pre-made not fresh. You have to pay additional for hummus! The salad comprises Iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. Would rather go to Jerusalem Shawarma for their FALAFEL platter as they make them fresh, all the ingredients are fresh, salad has better ingredients, and sauces are more authentic. NOT WORTH IT.

I loved the food! Your red sauce is fabulous. All in all a great option for everyone and anyone. I think Gordon Ramsay would approve!

So happy we don’t have to go to the US anymore to get Halal Guys! The platters are very generous and pro tip to get the white sauce to go! It’s a much bigger portion of sauce. The hot sauce is ACTUALLY SPICY so proceed with caution.

This is the first negative review I have EVER written, but my expectations were so high, and the food was so bad, I'm kinda ticked off. I mean it was just awful food. Nothing like NYC if that’s what you are hoping for (as we were). I had to toss it out it was so bad, and I hate wasting food. The meat was inedible, and looked days old. The only tasty items were the pre-packaged Halal Guys sauces. My wife slathered her chicken platter with both the white and hot sauce and still couldn't manage more than a few bites. My daughter forced down a quarter of her chicken pita before she tapped out. And don't get me started on my gyro platter.

I have tried halal guys for the second and it was a lot better compared to when i went there in the opening ceremony i was impressed by the portion they gave me and the taste

Worst sandwich I’ve ever had! Soggy warm bread to dry tasteless meat.and white sauce? Wth did you put ranch in my donair sandwich for? I really don’t know how this place will survive amongst other establishments like this.good luck here!

Just turned off by the fact that when I come on Friday around 6pm the meat is already pre-cut and left stored to be kept warm. Portions are good for what you pay for, the white sauce is a lil nasty, basically warm Caesar dressing.

If you've ever eaten at a Halal Guys cart in NYC, you will be tempted to try this. Be warned that the experience isn't exactly the same. The meat being stored in warming trays rather than fresh from the grill is a big difference. The white sauce and hot sauce are still the best part of the meal. Also good- the portions are very generous for the price.

Overall, not bad food. Just very much average. There are better options with similar food within walking distance.

I've been twice now. Service was amazing both times. Food was great, I had the chicken pita and the combo platter. Highly recommend the hot sauce be warned it is spicy

I’ve been here more than once, and let me tell ya, the food is perfect, chicken is soo flavourful and beef is soo tasty I can’t stop eating here, I come during the mornings and I’m greeted with respect and wonderful staff, when the cook is there and no one else he’ll leave his post to take care of my order with a warm tone and just excellent service from start to finish, offers me any sides or drinks to go, I’ve not had those offered to me before but this guy really did a great job, as I sat down to eat my food he got more customers and helped them out and gave them the same respect he’d want in return, great experience and a respect environment, will definitely come by again and would recommend… half the people here complaining here just want free food because they have nothing else to do with there time, it’s sad, this place just opened and needs time to master its not a shawarma place, it’s different and I love it!

Halal guys in Calgary was good-not the best. If you compare it to NY street carts it’s not even close. But it was good. More of a 3.5 stars out of 5.

Yesterday After I ate the meal from the hala guys I had pain in my stomach and vomiting. Extremely bad food. And the meals was with healthy issues.

Needed a bit of salt, but the portions are GIGANTIC! And the food is very tasty! Definitely a new fav!

I’m a person from the Middle East and I don’t usually get impressed with these type of fast food places here in Canada. My wife wanted me to try this place so I did go there today (Sunday September 19th). The place was very clean, very organized, nicely decorated. The staff were very courteous and professional. I had a very tasty beef Gyro sandwich. I also tried the rice with my wife and it was amazing. I highly recommend this fast food restaurant for anyone looking for tasty and clean places.

Definitely enjoyed the customer service experience here! Between the amazing food and the quick and attentive service, I will definitely be returning on a regular basis

So glad they opened this here! Highly recommend the combo platter, you get the best of both worlds! Amazing sauces (I suggest ordering the hot sauce on the side as its extremely spicy). Very generous portions and tasty food.

The taste definitely reminds me of the carts in NYC. Being a sitdown casual place the way it works is kinda different and that definitely changes the experience as well.

One to note for is freshness of the meat. If you order it back in a food cart in NYC, there's a huge lineup that goes along the corner of the block but it moves pretty fast. What this does is the guys are always ready to cut up fresh beef/chicken to put on your plate.

If you order it here they'll most likely grab it from their trays which have them already cut. You won't know how long it's been there so freshness is kind of a random chance.

Overall the flavor matches what it is in NYC! Make sure you put white sauce all over your platter and if you're adventurous have some spicy sauce on the side.

Food was dry, chicken and beef has no flavor.lack of sauce and you guys charge extra for the little packets? ! The platter was 60% rice, overpriced and what was I supposed to do with those little slices of pita bread? I suggest everyone to go to Shawarma Palace instead. I expected more.

My girlfriend and I came here for the first time and we were pleased with the food and the great service. We would definitely come again. We recommend it

The platter was 65% rice. The salad was vegetables and that's it. The pita was a quarter the size of everywhere else. Very very disappointed with their food. 110% reccomend everyone go to Demascus down the street for much better food.

The food was so fresh. I had an amazing experience with this place also all the employees were super helpful, professional and quick. I highly recommend trying this place out 10/10 service and food.

If you love good food, this is the place for you. Amazing quality, you can tell how much heart is till in this chain! The staff is so friendly and they don’t make you feel rushed (even though the line is out the door). Their food is amazing and a must try

Two words. Ho and Hum. Very limited menu, chicken and beef gyro are the only meats. Platter looks big but it is mostly rice. White sauce is bland, could barely taste any garlic. Hot sauce is very hot, which I like but it’s only hot with little flavour. But the food did seem healthy and well cooked and I did not feel bad afterwards. Prefer King Of Shawarma on 12th Ave at 13th street by far. So many more choices and much more flavourful. Shawarma Knights on 14th street is also good. Will not be going back with so many better shawarma shops in town.

I have celiac and I called in advance to ask if they had gluten free options and the person on the phone said yes. When I arrived at the location, nothing was gluten free and the employees were not aware and they were going to serve it to me. Please educate your staff about allergies
