The HAT East Village

My wife and I have been living in The Hat since 2022 and it has been an amazing experience for us. First, the building has a unique location that let's us have easy access to the downtown on one side, and enjoy nature in the amazing Calgary Riverwalk park on the other side, giving us literally the best of both worlds.

The units are clean and well maintained, with large windows that let the sunshine in and make the place so bight. The AC is really helpful during summer, and the building's gym make it very convenient to get some exercise any time. The building elevators are also one of the fastest ones I've seen.

Finally and most importantly, the building staff are great. They are very responsive and professional.especially Cathy who's been very kind and helpful since our first day. I also acknowledge how helpful Barry has been for all maintenance matters.

I highly recommend The Hat for anyone looking for a comfortable high-end living in Calgary!

If no stars was an option I would have posted it so. Application approval process took over a week, every reference and I heard from said they kept them on the phone for over 20 minutes each. Building is in disrepair consistently. All elevators are never online. One is always broken. Grounds are disgusting (animal waste) and homeless people sleeping inside lobby due to poor security. Upon moving out I was charged $450 to fill drywall nail holes and they claimed the dust in the corners of the baseboards requires a maid at 100+ dollars an hour to clean. If that wasn’t enough, my mail had been stolen over three times. I reported it to security and the leasing office they said there’s nothing they can do about it. I proposed having security near the mail room, or perhaps cameras, to which they did nothing if you were thinking of moving here seriously reconsider. Also, the heating in the unit doesn’t work in -40 weather. They gave us a space heater to keep from freezing.

A big thank you to the maintenance team member who helped us today. He was very courteous, and he fixed the issue with the toilets in our apartment in record time. He was also a huge help in changing a light bulb in a fixture that was beyond my reach. We appreciate it very much

I moved into the Hat about a year after construction finished, the building feels very new and well maintained. Plenty of access to the city, while also providing access to Inglewood, dare I say perfect location.

Units are beautiful, and the amenities are an excellent cherry on top, having the gym an elevator away is a massive time saver, the patio is also top tier especially in the summer months!

Staff have consistently gone above and beyond, security is always polite, and everyone in the building offices is very accommodating.

I have to include a special shout-out to Cathy Olsen here at The Hat, absolute class act, and standup lady. Anytime I’ve had any questions or personal circumstance come up she is exceptionally supportive and perhaps the biggest reason (among many good reasons) I would recommend this building.

The people make the place, and Cathy and the excellent security staff make this place an exceptional one.

This building has excellent services and is very well located, close to everything, comfortable and with beautiful views of the Bow river. The gym is well equipped and the staff, is very kindly and diligent.

Attentive management, absolutely nice people. I've been living here for a month so far and any time I needed help I was helped.

WORST building manager you can imagine！！！
tried to make a appointment for showing, called for three days during business hour and no one answer then finally the call went through, book a time and when I got there this is the fun part the women let us sit outside for 10min and chatting with someone inside.after letting us in fill the form and tell me 'YOU ARE a waste of time ' because I might move in January. And refuse to show any room or talk to us at all. I mean i might move in early if I like the building but she never showed us nothing. Then we had to wait outside again over hearing her arguments with a poor girl tried to tell her even she agrees to show her room she can't let people in all the time of anyday.
