I like shopping here but I just get so annoyed when every employee asks me if I need help with anything. Sometimes I like to just look around and buy random stuff I see and I will have the same staff member ask me twice if I need help with anything. If I need help with something I can ask I don't need every employee bugging me while I'm looking around.

EDIT: I want to add that I've changed my review to 5 star. For the first time at this location I've encountered someone with real knowledge. Dan in the paint department has actual knowledge and helpful tips for home owners. He can help with questions I have and knew real working knowledge of paint, drywall etc. This is crucial for home depot. They need to hire more people like Dan to provide exceptional customer service and knowledge of products. Will shop here going forward for all business material needed.

Previous review: Rude customer service. Not helpful if you need actual advice on a project. South common location has more knowledgeable staff.

Had a couple experiences with two great employees. As a business owner I understand the value of their knowledge and passion.

My mother and I went it to get some Rubber Stepping tiles. When we got to home depot we noticed the outdoor seasonal area was closed. We asked an associate if they had any left and Jasvir Kaur ended up finding the tiles we wanted. They where packed away in a pallet. She took the time to unpack everything and get us 15 of these tiles. She went above and beyond to help my mother and I. We are grateful we where able to get the last of these tiles. Thank you Jasvir for your excellent service today.

Went in today to purchase WEIMAN Glass Stove Top cleaning kit. I don't exactly live close to any Home Depot but was near this one so stopped in to grab it since I move provinces tomorrow. Opened the box about 2 hours later & EVERYTHING but the red cleaning sponge is missing! $10+ spend for a $. 50 cent sponge & I don't have time to run back into town. I guess opening boxes & taking what you want is pretty easy in this store since the box I purchased still had the circle "seal" sticker on it

Id give them a 5 but sometimes its very difficult to find the right staff member to answer your questions, and they don't always have your answer.

I believe if you have a store that offers so many DIY items, the staff should be trained to offer just a little more information. Especially if you're not exactly trained yourself in home projects.
But other than that they do have excellent and friendly staff. Most of whom will go out of their way to assist you, if you can find them.lol
They can only deal with 1 customer at a time and sometimes you have to wait your turn. So don't go if you're in a hurry, or go at times that aren't busy.

Prices are reasonable but you really have to know your price points. It's a great store for ideas. They also have a holiday season area which is.

You can book DIY 1-2 hour classes for various DIY home building renovations. IE: floor installations.

Great selection of craft projects as well.

1. Their hardware dept is a joke, most standard sizes were not present
2.higher prices than canadian tire and peavey mart.
3.the silicones in paint dept were hard/old stock.
4. The “cashier” was cleaning, ignored me and then walked off!
Wound up buying nothing as 3 strikes, you’re out and you had 4!

Home depot is well known for tools, renovation, electrical, plumbing, gardening and outdoor equipment store. Sometimes it's a bit expensive so I always check all competitors before making a purchase

My husband and I were doing a little DIY project in our spare bedroom, Peter in the pain department was amazing and helped us get everything we needed! He even gave us some great suggestions:) Thanks Peter! We will be back for your help on our next project!

Today, Monday, Tuesday, March 29, my husband and I were at The Home depot 4430-17 street at 12: 20 and we found 2.5' base board moal ding that we needed, when we got to the regustradora to pay, they told us that it was not the price, my husband showed them From where did he grab them and an employee named Steven came and began to speak to us in a rude and offensive way and raised his tone of voice, he came to bring us a cart full of boards and told us if they occupy two boards they have to buy all of them, he We explained that we only occupied two and that the price was incorrect, we suggested that then they only correct the price that they did not have to bother or talk to us in that way and Steven just ignored us and left us talking to ourselves, we love to buy in his store but definitely We do not plan to return to this branch due to the bad experience, what a shame that in these difficult times that we are living, kindness and good customer service are needed.

Good service. Picked up an online purchase and the piece of wood was not great. They went in and git me two good ones to pick from. Quick and efficient.

December 27,2020 we purchased a new washer and dryer from Home Depot. They advised they were special order and that they’d take a couple of weeks to order in. No problem - we planned on selling our working set the day the new set would be delivered. Home Depot guy who rang us through asked me when we wanted it delivered. I told him jan 31st, a week after they were expecting to get it just in case there were any delays. I was told we’d be contacted the day before the delivery to confirm time, or if there were any further delays with the special order items.

Between dec 27 and Jan 30th, I called Home Depot twice to make sure everything was on track for Jan 31st delivery. I was always told yes, no problems.

Jan 30th comes and goes. No call from anyone in regards to our delivery. That day I worked 12 hours so by the time I got home, they had closed. I called first thing Saturday Jan 31st and was told there was nothing they could do. We weren’t getting our delivery. I was told “what do you want me to do. I’m in Montreal. ” Guy tells me to call the delivery company and sort it out myself on Monday. I was very taken aback by this. I do my work, get a new delivery date set up for when they say they’ll have them in. Feb 7 our new set gets delivered. The delivery guys are lightning fast - brought our new set in and took the old set out in a matter of 10 minutes. We do a quick once over while they’re inside to check for damage, they tell us to wait 24 hours before turning it on because it’s a -40, and they leave. Because they told us to wait, we didn’t touch the set until like 11pm. When putting the bottom cover on; I noticed a big beautiful dent on the front of the dryer - it’s even noticeable in the picture I took showing my friends when they had just been delivered. I missed the damage. It’s 11 at night, call centre is closed so can’t do much.

The next day, first thing Sunday morning, I go into the store I bought the set from. I tell the manager what’s going on - that the dryer we received is damaged. She tells me I need to call the 1800 number. I tell her no, I’m done dealing with them and would like you to help me. After a bit of humming and hawing from her, she decides to help us. She calls, gets a damage report made and a new order set up. Refunds us $100 for the Jan 31st delivery day I had booked, and used a vacation day of work for the mysterious delivery that never showed up. She tells me the new dryer will take a couple of weeks, but they’ll deliver it and pickup the damaged one at the same time.

Finally last week we get a text message saying our delivery is set for Tuesday. We call them because we work and cannot book a week day off in that short notice. We move it to the March 6. March 5 we get a text saying our delivery is set between 2-6 for March 6. It’s 5: 30pm March 6, and the door bell rings. Two guys want to take the damaged dryer. I asked about the replacement. They don’t have it. It’s a 3rd party delivery company so they have no idea. I decline the pickup and immediately call Home Depot. The guy says oh Maytag isn’t open so I’ll have to call on Monday to get information and get back to you. I ask him very clearly - you’ll call me back Monday March 8 with answers? He says yes. After that call, I also email the store manager that I previously dealt with to advise her. She replies and apologizes, asks for my order number. That all was Saturday March 6.

It’s March 9 now. I haven’t heard from anyone. Home Depot thinks your time isn’t valuable. Home Depot doesn’t care how they treat you once you’ve given them their money. I have no more patience left to continually call and keep asking for help. I’ve told everyone I know not to shop at Home Depot and why. I will continue to spread the word. Home Depot is not a business worth supporting if you care about customer service.

I went in looking for ducting for my grow room when I found 2 gentleman talking in the back they asked me if I needed help and when I said I was looking for ducting for my grow, attitudes changed and they become almost offended or something very uncomfortable and one employee talking very out loud about how his lunch keeps getting stolen! I’d say just look on Amazon it’s better prices and don’t need to talk to people like these ones!

Best part about this store is the Pro desk and Ayisha - she has so much knowledge about the store and products, i know this department is only for contractors but i always go to her and she ll helpme out or point me in the right direction. I went to buy some stuff for my kitchen and bathroom for basement, she knew what i was looking for and also found me stuff which was on sale and asked me to buy couple of extra boxes of vinyl flooring - just in case if there is a damage to the floor in future it can be replaced. Also i got the hd credit card from her, never knew about it. She is smart and she wears red every weekend to show her support for the Army.

Good people working at your store. Keep it up

I have shopped at every Home Depot in the city and I have to say the quality of service at this branch is higher than all others. Every staff member on the floor was quick to help and readily available. On top of having a detailed knowledge of all the products and their locations in store, they were also quick to help with pricing on mismatched items. I strongly recommend visiting the 17st south location of you have any questions for a job. Although I recieved help from a number of excellent employees I would like to give a special shout out to Peter, Steven, and Aisha. Great job everyone!

Looked on the website to find a product. Said it was avaliable, but when I went in I was told it was only available in the US. Staff was very helpful though.
