My first time at this Pub. For a year end Company Function. The Prime Rib was the best i’ve had anywhere in many years. The ceasar salad was also very well done. The mashed potatoes seemed heavy on the instant side so i dropped the food one star. (See the owners reply) Perhaps some of the potatoes were over cooked before mashed. 50lbs, is a lot of work. I trust their reply, so, go and see for yourself. You decide on, the missing star. The old Fire Hall was a very nice historical atmosphere, washrooms were clean and tidy. Being a private function, i have no post able photos, perhaps another time.
I have always loved this place. On a wing day or not. Good service and good food. Parking isn't always fun, but not many places in Calgary are like that.

My buddy and I popped in the Hose last night for wing night. First timers, and very impressed. It has a great atmosphere band the food came out quick, and hot, and very delicious. Our server was fantastic as well. The wings are nice size, with lots of flavours to chose from. Try the fries. OMG, you don't normlly say that about fries, but she was right, they're great. We will be back.
Team booked this place to celebrate success at work! Overall environment was very enjoyable. On a Thursday night it was a busier then norm. Food took ages to come, 3 of our members were waiting for food while everyone else was almost done eating. On an another note, NO vegetarian food (besides a veggie burger), thinking that we are in 2023 and fast food places have veggie options way more than this place. Little said on that note. Wouldn’t recommend this place for vegetarians peeps.
The food and drinks were great! Our server was very polite, efficient, attentive and friendly. The prices were very reasonable and the history of the fire hall itself is very entertaining. Highly recommend this place to anyone!
The breakfast poutine was great. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I asked for a straw twice and never got one. If they don't give straws out, they should tell you that, not say OK twice and never give you one.
2 stars is for the service (although was charged the wrong bill, luckily we noticed and could void it). I ordered the seasonal chicken avocado wrap. ZERO avocado. Chicken was water. Wrap had a stale mouldy taste. Was very disappointed by the food
I can't believe I hadn't been to The Hose & Hound before but I will definitely be back. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for some appies and drinks. It can be unassuming from the outside but the interior is bright and open. The fact this used to be a fire hall is not lost at all. They have a pretty decent drink menu with some local craft beers on tap. The food was pretty good for standard pub fare but the service really made for a good time. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I will absolutely be back.
This place was great. I've lived in Calgary for 10 years and only just went to this place recently. Food was great, service was great, beer was fresh and cold. Nothing else I could ask for
Excellent service and the food is heaven, this place is a good recommendable. The price is really worth to pay, cool and clean place Loved it. Good job hose and hound team.
We went in for the perogies and sausage as we always do when we are in the neighborhood. The food was fast and hot, the waitress was busy, busy, busy! On top of all the hustle and bustle! Gave her a good tip and as always, going back again when we are in the neighborhood
Never been dissapointed here. Nice big delicious wings and great service. I haven't been in a few years and was worried with all the changes I saw but still great quality! A must go in Calgary
Had a light lunch here today with a friend. Stuffed yorkies.there were four. They were great and just the right amount so that I didn't leave hungry or stuffed and bloated. Server wasn't very friendly. She was efficient in that she brought refills without us having to ask and food came quickly but she never spoke to us other than to take our order and ask if we were paying separately. She didn't smile, she didn't ask if everything was okay. Would have given 5 stars if service was good because I did really enjoy the food.
Extremely rude waitress as I walked in with my daughter, as other comments here, very weird "licensed" rules this place has. Btw, it was around 2pm. No a Family place, so be away from it if you are coming with kids and pretty disgusting treatment.
Sign on the front door says "No Minors". I assumed that was for kids under 19 who were on their own. We walked in for lunch on a Monday with our two teenage children and was met by an exceptionally rude waitress who simple said we could not be in there. We have travelled throughout Alberta for over 2 weeks and visited numerous brew pubs as I love craft beer. We had not been turned away from anywhere else on our trip. There might be some strange Calgary rule about minors in pubs (but not brew pubs?) but there was no need for how we were treated. Hope that waitress was just having a bad day.
We were celebrating a friends 50th birthday and did the pedal pub. We were all hungry and chose to go to The Hose and Hound as I used to frequent here back in the day when we lived in Calgary. It turns out that The Hose and Hound management and turned our group of 15 people away because we, and this was their exact wording, “are pedal pub people and we don’t allow pedal pub people in”. You can guarantee that myself and the rest of our group and whoever they share this information with will not be frequenting this establishment again.
Great historical building, food was good, small portions and a little pricy. In their defense the location is prime and a great area to visit, lots of neat shops.
Here from Ontario. What great place! Food was fantastic service was exceptional. Could see the teamwork in the staff. Definitely return when back in town
Stopped by for brunch while in town. The bennies we're good and buffalo chicken wrap was delicious. Service was slow to start, but I think a server must have come in late. There was one girl handling both patios plus inside. Once a second girl showed up things got much faster. The building looked neat but we didn't get to see it much, sat out on the patio due to the weather. The covered patio is really great and was an awesome place for brunch. Will have to stop in again if we are in town during hockey season, looks like a good place to watch a game.
This place is alright. We didn't know if we needed to be seated or could just grab a seat as there was no sign indicating to us what to do, so we just walked through the place to the patio and grabbed a table. Our server was nice but it took her about 8 minutes to get to us because she had no idea we were there. If you are looking great customer service I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for mediocre service this is the place. The food was really good we had the stuffed Yorkies and they tasted well nice! I would recommend them for sure.
The side patio has lots of room. It is an old Calgary Fire Department fire house, Station 3 I think. The staff is friendly and accommodating to needs which makes you feel welcome!
We havent been to Hose and Hound in a while, tonight we decided to drop in for dinner. The server seemed super over run by tables, they must be short staffed. Our drink order was wrong so we decided to grab dinner elsewhere.
The covered patio has been updated and decorated, perfect for watching 'sports ball' outside on a hot day. Menu is classic pub, in a good way. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Not impressed. For portion size, not worth the cost in my opinion. The dry ribs where burnt, either the oil was too hot or cooked way too long. It was very appearant visually but it was still served. The potato skins were very good but amounted to the skin of half a potato for $14.
Went there today and ordered a burger and it was soooo salty my nails hardened and curled. Wow. Don't go there unless u wanna be downing drinks like there's no tommorow.
Interesting atmosphere as the place is a an old fire hall. The Wednesday wings are a good deal and very tasty. Looks like they are doing some renovations to out in a patio
We ordered some food and drinks, the server brought out our drinks but said she had cancelled our food order because it was too busy. She seemed like she really didn't want to deal with us. Honestly such a bizzare experience. This would make sense to me if it was very late or if the order was complicated but nachos and poutine at 8pm does not seem like too much to ask.
Great pub. Watched the raptors game there.lots of TVs good service, good selection of local beers. And pretty good.grub. Had the poutine with bacon. So much bacon so good
Very interesting little pub eatery bar. Cool that its an fire house. Not cool poor staff has to navigate that flight of stairs for and with everything.
Awesome servers, tap beer and appy's. In addition, I love the patio in the summer and the history of the firehall (haunted by the monkey). I just wish they were open a little later and that their food prices were a little lower. But love it nonetheless!
Awesome place for a drink and a bite or an all nighter. They have so many TV's, it's a sports bar in disguise. Staff is attentive and the draught selection is surprisingly vast. Just on the same of downtown, kind of a sweet spot.
This is one of the best pubs in all of Calgary. The staff are fantastic. The last time I was here there was a lovely young server who was an absolute gem. She was helping at the tables and she was behind the bar and she was going up and down those stairs like it's nobody's business. This place has a great atmosphere and it is haunted. Great spot to hit before or after the zoo. Begin or end a tour of Inglewood at this awesome local haunt that used to be a fire station but it is now the place where you can see Calgary's sexiest bar staff.
Never really hung out in this area before, not sure why but we were literally wandering around Inglewood one evening and got hungry. Stopped here and were pleasantly surprised. Food was good, servers were great and the live music was fantastic. We will definitely be visiting inglewood again and we'll be sure to stop by here.
Was there on wing nights which were delicious by the way. I was sitting upstairs and had a splendid view of the whole place. The firestation theme is spot on
Service was very good, wings were pretty good too. $3.50 a pop with no refills is nothing short of highway robbery on something that cost pennies to make. For the service and food, ² for no refills on the pop, especially since I was working and couldn't drink.
I have zero complaints with the Hose 'n' Hound But it didnt really stand out in anyway, its a bit expensive for a neighborhood pub, but thats cause its being Trendy in Inglewood I assume. Its the best pub in the area I have been to.
