I’ve been living here for almost 2 years now, and it has been a wonderful experience. The Hub is a home away from home and a wonderful community of like minded individuals. The location is equally perfect because it’s close to school and also close to downtown. We’re provided with top notch facilities and they really value our concerns and criticisms! Not to mention, the view is so beautiful.

I would like to start by saying it was hard to find a place with the current housing crisis and it’s getting worse by the day.
I was lucky to find The HUB at the right time. Miss Hailey & her team are nothing short of special. They will help till the best they can for every residents here in The HUB and try to make our daily life’s comfortable. Not only comfortable, they also try and make our busy students or professional life’s a bit more enjoyable by adding events every month or keeping the lounge well maintained & updated.
The maintenance staff is very understanding and quick to respond.
There maybe be instances where residents maybe unhappy for any reason but at the end of the day, one should truly compare what is going on in the city with this crisis and how landlords are treating tenants in real time, then complain about the grievances online.

Hope this review helps.

I stayed at the hub for a year and six months and it was honestly a really great stay. The apartments were well furnished, there was a really great lounge and super supportive staff. I loved every moment there.

It has been a great experience living at The Hub! Great building, really friendly staff and always willing to help! Love the location, transit couple minutes away and really close to the university! Thank you to the great staff!

It was an amazing event! Imagine coming back from a long day of work and getting FREE FOOD! XD Honestly, a great experience. And the employees were so chill and helpful

Loving my stay at The Hub! It's conveniently located with easy access to transit, and have some great amenities available! Not to mention the killer view from top me and my Cat are enjoying it thoroughly!
Leasing team is great and will help you out in any way they can. Thanks Team

I haven't lived here but to all future tenants, just wanted to share my experience with awful leasing managers.they will be very nice to you when they communicate but in reality they don't respect your time, money or as a person. When I called, someone said there is a availability and come look at the apartment. So, i went and they said there is nothing available. So, they lie just for you to come and view? No respect of anyone's time. And they are so rude in their emails. I have lived in so many apartment complex in california and have never experienced this. Worst management ever especially for students.

This was a great place to live, very modern and clean and close to everything! The management was Wonderfull and super accommodating, Madi especially! Would 100% recommend to any students attending UofC or Sait.

I had a few issues after moving out and I really appreciate how Hayley called to address all my issues. Thank you!

I have been living at this apartment for roughly 1 year and this is my feedback for anyone who is interested in possibly moving in.

Pros
1) Less than a 5 minute walk to the C train station that can take you downtown. This is helpful if you go to school at a downtown location such as Bow Valley College. C train commute is only 1 stop to the University of Calgary.

I often ride my bicycle to commute in and around Kensington and the Bow Valley River loop. I recommend this as its really fast and fun experience in exploring the suburb and downtown area.

2) Workout gym at penthouse level is free for anyone living at the Hub. Its a small basic gym but still good for a workout. 4th floor offers a common room for students to shoot pool, play ping pong or simply cook a meal in the kitchen area. This is one way to meet new people.

Cons

1) Utilities (electricity, water etc.) are expensive under "Wyse solutions". This created frustration and anger from people who felt they were being ripped off which is understandable. There is a flat rate now of 55 per month for residents which is more reasonable.

2) Some people are not students living in the apartment even though the hub is advertised as a student living accomodation.

3) There are some homeless/addicts who camp around the surrounding area and sometimes vandalise or litter on property.

4) There are complaints of stolen mail. Personally I have never had this problem so I cannot give a honest feedback on this.

Overall there are some flaws to this building but I think there has been some improvements (eg.lower utility bills).

For me personally I have had a decent experience living here especially in the summer. The location makes it very easy to roam around whether it be by train, car or bike.

If your hesitant about moving in I would recommend booking a tour beforehand so you can make your own decision.

Nice building. Amazing installations with all is needed for a comfy stay and do your life as student or worker.

In my case, I stayed for about 3 months, and in the meantime doing my work remotely, and the space provided, the internet connection everything needed for my software development job was accurate.

As a person who goes to gym almost everyday, this building provide one that is good enough.

My room has awesome space and awesome views to the stadium so I been able to watch the football matches out there hahaha.

Modern, good space, quite, good people, good stuff.nothing to say. Thanks for everything.

I have had nothing but trouble and disappointment while living here, and it has only been two months. Move-in day, my apartment needed to be cleaned and was not ready for me when I was supposed to move in. When I did move in, my apartment was not clean nor to a standard of a new tenant. The amount of damage that was here, all over the apartment, from previous tenants was highly disappointing and should have been fixed and prepared. I have had extreme difficulties when it comes to communicating with management here at the hub. When I moved in, I could have had a better experience with the managers and workers; they were rude and not welcoming. When I tried to contact maintenance to fix everything wrong with my apartment, they were supposed to go in and fix everything, along with a 24-hour notice that they were coming in, but that did not happen. There needed to be more reliable and consistent communication from both maintenance and managers. I got a 24-hour notice for a day the maintenance workers did not go in on; when coming to view my apartment for the first time. They showed up the next day with no warning and said they had come the day before but needed supplies to fix the damages. They told me some damages could not be fixed and said they would have to return to be able to fix the rest of the damages. We then scheduled another time, but again there was no 24-hour notice given to me. Previous to the scheduled day, I was told I had to move everything in my apartment for them to fix the damages, making my room inaccessible for the time being. I came home on the day they were supposed to go to find nothing had been fixed. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with living here due to the circumstances. I am paying a decent amount of money to live here as a student and have had 90% disappointment. I have done nothing but abide by my commitment to the contract, yet they have not held up their commitment to the agreement. This should not be this difficult, especially as housing for students

I enjoyed living here in the past 12 months during my postdoctoral training at the UofC. The Hub Calgary is an excellent place for students and young professionals like me studying or working nearby. It is quiet, clean and has a beautiful gym center on the top floor (27th!) where I enjoyed the skylines and snowfalls of Calgary. Neighbors here are friendly, and stuff working at the leasing office and front desk are extremely helpfully and cordially like my own friends. I some time work late in the evening and there is always a security guard patrolling at the lobby, which makes you feel safe. It's located at a 5-min walk from the Banff Trail LRT station and there are some nice restaurants to the north of this building. If you are in a unit with windows facing west you'll also enjoy the football matches at the McMahom Statium! Will defintely stay here next time to Calgary. Highly recommend!

100% NOT RECOMMEND MOVING INTO THIS
SOME STAFF ATTITUDE IS VERY BAD
AND LOTS MORE PROBLEM

but it turns out I have to call a lot of times to have the problem solved.

I lived in this building for a year. As most of the people mentioned the utilities bill is insane. For a small studio I was paying around 100 $ which is ridiculous. At the end of the lease They charge you for whatever they can. I strongly recommend to stay away from this place.
02 August 2022 13:46
I've been reading all the reviews and they are so many bad ones.not sure how the experience can be so different.ive been living there for 2 years and have literally had no major issues.yes the utilities when I moved in and for the first 4 months were crazy but then it leveled out to roughly about 60 a month. But then again I work 16 hours a day and I'm never home but to sleep. Whenever there was any thing that came up I could always reach out to the staff. I work 2 mina from the door at one of this hotels and this place is god sent for me looking forward to another 2 years living here

If you are Students of either University of Calgary or SAIT, then you would want to consider The Hub Calgary. This is a newly built apartment (commissioned in 2020 I guess) with beautiful lounge, gaming room, central laundry, etc. I paid a friend, who is one of the residents, a visit and boom! The Apartment is quite affordable.

Demerit: - I learned Students with kids aren't welcomed.
18 July 2022 9:17
Ridiculous utilities price! They are defrauding by high bills! No one deal problem at all! Keep away from this building keep your life happy!
16 July 2022 23:47
Insane utility price. I used to live in a studio of 260sqft and my bills was always around $300. That's ridiculous and nobody can do anything about it. I never been so stressed in my life
14 July 2022 19:30
This place traps you into paying more than any student will be able to afford, while making it seem like a very affordable home. There is no privacy as staff and maintenance come and go as they please. The management seem hellbent on making people's lives miserable, for the sake of their own benefit. The positive reviews are almost entirely made up, or from people who stayed as an Airbnb guest. Do not come here, unless you want to get legally robbed, violated, and disrespected as a tenant.
31 May 2022 20:52
This is a great place to live, it is near all essentials especially if you are a student at the U of C. I have lived here for a year and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff are extremely helpful, all the amenities are kept updated, the apartments have new appliance and clean. I will definitely miss living here, quite affordable and I would like to say a huge thank you to Flora, you are awesome!
22 May 2022 4:36
Update: This month 300:) (2022.03)

utility bill is ridiculous, got robbed $200 last month! LOL (2022.03)

The worst building in terms of quality and the most useless building management.
I reside in this building, and I would not recommend this to anyone
03 April 2022 6:20
Building was flooding on the Christmas Eve in 2021. Packages and DoorDash food always get stolen here. Rent is very high and high rent doesn’t come with high quality of living environment…
04 October 2021 16:58
STUDENTS BEWARE

Building is very nice but I have experienced numerous issues since moving in that can only be described as a SCAM. The building outsources parking to Precise Park Link — This company decided to raise prices for the underground lot by 20+$ a month after the lot was almost full/reserved (after only 1 month of paying the agreed upon rate).
The building uses WYSE metering solutions as a utility provider — The company charges almost triple your usage $ amount in delivery fees and “transmission” charges. Be prepared to deal with uniformed customer service representatives who will have no answers as to why your electricity charge is 100$ for 30$ worth of electricity usage, and 75$ for 20$ worth of water usage. [Yes these are real numbers from utility billing]

I would not recommend the building to anyone, let alone students that are on a budget. Management is no help in dealing with these issues and they stand behind these predatory companies. I encourage you to look up both companies (better business bureau reviews and news reports/complaints from many individuals that agree they have been cheated and scammed).

Additionally, my unit flooded and caused hundreds of dollars in damages and management evaded all responsibility, while simultaneously trying to push the blame to the tenant (which was 100% none of mine).

Update————
Just so everyone knows nothing came of this response from the owner.

Another Update ————
The building has no consideration or respect for their tenants. They will start construction (sawing into the walls right outside your unit) at 7 in the morning.
28 August 2021 2:56
Would not recommend this building to anyone! Management is not helpful, and they find ways to toss hidden costs in any place they can. The building is falsely advertising itself as student living, there are tons of tenants who are not students. Also utilities are ridiculously priced for the small rooms.

I have been living here for half a year and so far everything has been fantastic. The staff are caring and compassionate and very good at their jobs. I haven't experienced any problems with my stay here and I don't anticipate any issues going forward. One of the best places to live in Calgary. Thanks again to the excellent staff who have been so kind and helpful.
07 August 2021 3:13
I have lived at this place for almost a month now and I love how safe and comfortable I feel here! All of the staff do there best to accommodate me when I need help! I also attended the Fresh Routes mobile grocery event and it was amazing! I got so many fresh fruits and vegetables for free and all I had to do was grab a ticket in advance at the main office!
03 January 2021 21:48
Okay I’m really confused is this place built yet or not because there are pic of construction and pictures of it built but I don’t know if it’s the same place

This is the best place for any student to live in Calgary! Flora, Hunter and all the other staff is absolutely amazing, and the friendliest I've ever come across! Come live in the heart of the city, and experience the best Calgary has to offer.

You'll make lifelong friendships, and the experience to live in the most happening apartment building is what you'll cherish for years to come!

I recommend HUB apartments to anyone looking to transition into moving to their own place, and especially to international students.

Come experience the best of Calgary, and the best Canada has to offer! You won't be disappointed!

Amazing staff helping you at any moment, gorgeous interior, perfect gym and very clean throughout the entire building.

It has been a pleasure to live at the Hub. In addition to being well located (close to the HSC where I work), the staff are helpful and always willing to help, even in the smallest details. I highly recommend making the hub your home.
02 November 2020 23:45
This is my first time living independently as an international student. My favorite part of the hub is the big window. I was worried about lighting as I was advised to take a lamp with me. But I don’t have to worry about light and using electricity all day. I usually put my desk in front of it to study so it’s bright for me until it gets dark. The view is amazing from my room and the gym. I see the Rocky Mountains, the stadium, Nose Hill and the airport. In terms of socialization, due to Covid (I believe) there hasn’t been much events going on except for the free food truck day. So I don’t know anyone else. I am hoping to find a few good friends here in the next few months:) So far I am very satisfied with the living arrangement, and so are my family back in my home country.
