This apartment has amazing amenities, and its location is very convenient to commute to the ctrain and downtown. Also Reina who gave us a tour was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend you to check out here for a new place to live!

Just like everything, there are some pros and some cons. It's just that this place has more cons than pros.

Pros:
1.location: centrally located and quite close to things.

2. OG: you would always read good things about OG and the other. They are the only ones who are keeping this building sane.

Cons:
1. Maintenance: certain things are never fixed and have always been under repair. The Management is notorious for not improving the issue but delaying the problems without proper solution. For example, air drafts, one would patch up the work, but the maintenance decided to glue the whole window and not patch the holes—a bit weird solution and pretty dumb in my eyes. You wouldn't expect this from someone with a properly functioning brain. Apparently the windows will be replaced after a year or two, I would say goodluck with believing that.

2. Constant problems with the dryer: 3 complaints so far, yet the dryer has no resolution. Finally, they said they'd replace it yesterday, but that was noted for the past two complaints as well. I will update you on this.

3. Constant repairs in the building, been here for four months, of which for 2.5 months, one lift was always under maintenance.

4. Old structures and heating are an issue: there are only two hot coils in the whole apartment, apparently for an apartment that is enough to warm the place in Management's eyes.

5. You would want to be nice, but the Management will find ways to piss you off to the extent that you'd be forced to write a review online. Not to forget the management now charges high fees for mediocre amenities, for example, pool table if you look at the you'd understand it hasn't been maintained in years, yet the charge to book is about $200+. A JOKE.

Conclusion: if you want utter disappointment and regret coming to a building where issues will never be resolved and you'll be frustrated every time you ask for a service, this is your building. I would highly recommend anyone to come here if they want to appreciate nicer things in life.

Oogie is so nice and helpful for assisting my move-in. He explains things in details. So I am very satisfied with the apartment staff. Thanks so much.

OG was amazing and he fixed the leak issue so quickly, and he was very professional/ cleaned everything up:)

Until now the experience has been very good, mostly because of OG he is always available for helping

Nice place got trapped in elevator, was trying to reach my friend staying there and I broke my phone and was using my iPad to reach him.front desk guy refused to give me the wifi back in the car out in traffic to park where I could get wifi, I didn't look homeless I don't know I'm sure he sees his share of a$$h@l$ but was freaking rude and extreme as I was 100% polite and courteous as I was raised to be!
09 May 2020 16:07
Well the elevator in our building was being fixed. We stayed here. The staff are friendly and all ways ready to help. My room was very clean but the bed is aweful, it's so hard. Can't wait to sleep in my own bed again. Thankful pool is refreshing and the sauna relaxing. No longer enjoying my stay.
06 May 2020 5:02
The place is under renovations. Connections to the +15 weren't open. The room was clean, definitely tell the renovations weren't done as paint was peeling in areas and the floor heaters creaked. The staff seemed ok, but didn't really ask about our stay and were not really aware of alternatives for the +15 closure. For the price, it was ok.
04 May 2020 11:56
Undergoing renovations, so no dining area or lounge available. Appliances in suites are disconnected. Cost of parking is outrageous - $31 per day inside, $40 per day outside. Makes the total cost of your stay far more than it should be for an older hotel of this mediocre quality.
28 April 2020 11:43
My Mom and myself came from Toronto to have a Holiday.we were Not Aware of All of the Construction. The Restaurant is Not Available. The Pool is Not Available The Gift Shop is Not Available and they will not give us Anything for the Inconvenience. And you have to Pay for your Parking?
I’m Extremely Not Impressed. If I knew any of this I would have Paid more and stayed Somewhere Else. They should have told us about all of this when they called us to confirm our booking!
26 April 2020 7:05
No HOT Water! Unforgivable! The toilet is not installed correctly, it clunks when you sit on it. The fridge makes a constant noise. Not 4 star, not even close. Floor is dirty. The only saving grace is that the bed was comfortable. Staff have no clue. No manager on-site. Never, ever again!

I booked a room for my spouse for a week at a rate of $1500 for a week. I spoke on the phone with one of the team members there to make a reservation. The gentleman on the phone made notes on the reservation that my card would not be with my spouse and he said numerous times that it was fine. My spouse was traveling for a memorial service for his brother who had passed away a year ago. (just to stress how emotional my spouse was, he was carrying his brothers ashes with him for the memorial). When he went to check into the Hotel a very rude lady at the counter turned him away and told him that the information he was given was incorrect and he would have to leave. My spouse explained in detail everything I just mentioned and the lady said I can see the notes and there is nothing I can do. It was almost midnight and my spouse had to call around to people he barely knew to try and find somewhere to stay. I myself called the Hotel in the morning thinking that there could be some sort of resolution to this problem seeing how it was the employees mistake not mine or my spouses. I was hung up on 3 separate times by the employees at the hotel. I was not raising my voice or cussing I was trying to explain the situation and they said this is our policy and there is nothing we are willing to do and hung up. They also refused to give their names when I asked for them.

Newly renovated room. Renovations still ongoing. Some things left to do.
No kitchen on site. And some floors are unavailable.
21 April 2020 15:31
We have stayed here several times I know they're doing renovations and making it into a condo type complex however no breakfast no pool no bar just not the same experience any more will be staying somewhere else next time
19 April 2020 23:56
Room was horribly hot even with the thermostat set to its lowest possible setting. Also all the linens reeked like cigarettes even though the hotel is supposedly non smoking.
10 April 2020 4:31
Not a hotel; not sure why they are still calling themselves one.

Save your money and stay at any of the other actual hotels in the same area. If this review isn't convincing, take a look at the trend of this hotel's ratings.which have been plummeting recently.
30 March 2020 21:22
We had some folks over in the room and were asked to quiet down a lot, I don't think we were being that loud that late. Also it was a Saturday night downtown? But aside from that the room was beautiful.
25 March 2020 12:41
Unfortunately our time here was quite poor. The restaurant was torn down despite a free breakfast included with every stay. As well, there was no notice the spa and pool were out of service. No postings online and no schedule of completion on the website.

In my opinion this hotel is charging for services it is no longer providing. When I spoke with the hotel front desk, they swiftly charged me full price while I was letting them know this is an unprofessional process to sell to patrons.
05 February 2019 10:41
Good value, clean room. Hotel even on renovated floors is seeming run down.swimming pool is as hot as the hot tub and not good for swimming.pool area not clean and steam room moldy
04 February 2019 11:23
Great location, Access to +15 Pedway from the 2nd floor. The older King Suites are much better than the newly renovated suites since the older suites are carpetted and much more spacious. The newly renovated rooms are much smaller but do come with extra appliances like a dishwasher. The newer suites are not carpetted and the hotel doesn't provide bathroom slippers. James at the front desk was extremely helpful. Breakfast is very basic. TV display isn't that great, guess the cable reception is poor. Overall friendly staff.
31 January 2019 14:15
Doing renovations so poor quality. The workers start at 7: 45 in the morning instead waiting until 9. The kitchen crew is unfriendly, my friend and I were having breakfast and we had an angry Filipino woman telling us we only had 5 minutes before close. She was the worst experience ever, need to get some real Chef in that kitchen!
28 January 2019 12:45
Worst experience ever! Gave me the run around due to credit card issues. Not understanding at all. Staff at the front were rude and snobby. Made me and my children feel very uncomfortable. DO NOT GO HERE!
27 January 2019 13:53
Overall checking in and checking out was simple easy with good customer service. The main flaws were that due to renovations the room I received was way to dusty and appliances even the sink we're not useable. Either they should have lowered the price or had given a better room for the amount we paid
27 January 2019 1:50
It was under renovations when we were there. Has a great location if your going to be spending any amount of time downtown.
29 December 2018 10:23
I like this hotel. Staff are very friendly willing to assist. Suites are comfie beds are relaxing. Amenities all close by. Great for accessing businesses stores restaurants downtown
08 December 2018 1:08
Didn't stay at the hotel just parked in the parkade. Good central location within walking distance from most places downtown.

This is the second time I’m staying at the International Hotel. The first time all rooms were booked, so I had to stay in a 2 twin room. The floor was quite dirty (like it hasn’t been mopped in a long time), but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and stay there again, in a king size room. Here are the pros and cons based on both stays:

Pros:
- Rooms are very spacious, have a living room and good size kitchen
- Bed is comfortable
- Right in downtown with access to the +15
- Breakfast in included and it’s good

Cons:
- Bathroom is tiny! I’d prefer to stay in a smaller room with a big bathroom and shower than a huge room with a tiny bathroom and shower.
- Floors were dirty like they hadn’t been mopped in a long time (I noticed this both times I stayed there, although the second time wasn’t so bad)
- White towels were not so white.
- Small TV (probably 19”)
- Elevators are slow (*very* slow). The first time we stayed there we left on a Saturday and it took us about 10 minutes to come down to checkout because every time the elevator came, it was packed so we couldn’t fit our luggages
- WiFi was weak and unstable
22 October 2018 10:39
Our hotel room is the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. I used a washcloth to wipe down the bathroom counter and nightstands and the cloth was filthy afterwards. I moved a magazine and old food fell to the floor. There was hair on the bathroom floor. Everywhere else in the room is covered in dust. They give you 2 complimentary bottles of water because one of the sinks in the room doesn't have potable water in it. They say the other sink is safe to drink out of so you have to pay $2 for every bottle after the first 2. Are the 2 sinks really on different pipes?
26 September 2018 19:16
The hotel it self was good, large rooms and clean. As part of the maintain the kitchen suite did not have a sink or running water. The bathroom was fully functional. Included a mini fridge which was a nice included add-on. Docked one star due to the room being next to the elevator and sounded like a feight train all night. TIP: If staying at hotel recommend getting room as far from the elevator as possible.
24 September 2018 11:52
Stayed overnight and was a pleasant experience. The hotel is currently going through renovations so some amenities we're not available but overall a good experience.
20 September 2018 10:05
The main floor is totally shabby looking. Have to pay for parking. There are only 3 elevators for 34 floors. Staff have to use these elevators for room service/transport luggage too as there is no service elevator (meaning elevators are always packed). Room was like a furnace, tiny little air con unit in the sitting room that was spitting out water. Not big enough or functional enough to cool down the entire suite. Ate in the pub and the food was cold.the breakfast was luke warm. Sunday when we were checking out it took me 15 minutes to get the elevator from the 34th floor, each one that came was packed and we couldn't fit into it! I never leave bad reviews but I had to for this, spend your money elsewhere!

My in-law's stayed there for one night this week and felt that their treatment at this establishment was well below par for what a downtown Calgary hotel should be offering.

Here are the deficiencies/issues that were brought to my attention:

1. It is outrageous that on a Monday night they are being charged $30 extra for the hotel's underground parking. When they commented about this at the front desk they were told by the person at the front desk "What do you want, it's downtown Calgary. " What kind of response is this to your guests?

2. The heated pool that was advertised, was not heated. The pool area had a total of two towels for visitors.and a "mop" bucket.

3. The sink in their kitchenette did not work.

4. When they requested a bottle opener they were told that the hotel only had one and that they would send someone up to open their bottle of wine. It arrived 20 minutes later and they could not hold on to it, the person that came up had to open their bottle and take the corkscrew back with her. How does a hotel have only one bottle opener?

5. The TV was unwatchable due to a low hum coming from the speaker.

This is unacceptable at the best and being that they are an older couple with the husband suffering from a severe illness it goes far beyond unacceptable. There were other items but they seem small compared to the above.

I made the above comments known to hotel management on the same night that this happened. I did not receive any acknowledgement from the hotel as to the deficiencies until I sent a follow-up email saying that I would be posting an online review of the hotel. The person who contacted me (Aneta) had forwarded the email as soon as it was received to their Director of Operations (Sean) and asked me to allow for 24 hours for a reply. I waited more than 24 hrs and then sent ANOTHER email directly to Director of Ops. (Sean) and now almost 72 hours later I have received no message back from him. Aneta on the other hand has replied to each email promptly to apologize. If the hotel had more people like Aneta I'm sure it would be better off. Unfortunately it doesn't.

The Hotel should receive only one star, but because of Aneta's attempts I gave it one extra star.

I would not recommend this place to anyone as the care and worry for their guests is only visible in a minor part of their staff. Model your people after her, not the rest and you'll have success. As of now it's a hard no.

Location excellent for attending Calgary Folk Music Festival. Suite was very comfortable; some amenities affected by ongoing renovations. Included breakfast was very good.

I stopped by to visit a friend. The hotel is under going much needed renovations. Good location if you want quick access to Chinatown and Prince Edward Island but not ideal if you are interested in the Calgary club scene as you will need to take a cab.

Everything went well for the most part, I love staying at this hotel. They're currently renovating so a few things were out of order; ice was only available on 1 or 2 of the normal 4 or 5 floors, the kitchen sink was closed off. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. At checkout I was charged a higher rate than what I had booked online for but I just had to call and I was refunded the difference. I'll be visiting Calgary again later this month and I plan to stay here again.

Big rooms located in the heart of downtown. Close to CTrains, Chinatown, downtown, The Core Shopping Mall, Prince Island Park and more. The rooms are clean and large overall.
