The food was absolutely melt worthy! Our waitress was on her last day of training and was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and quick. Whomever was shadowing her was friendly and fun. Both of which, plus the food, were worth 5 stars. The steak melted in my mouth. The drinks were fantastic, the scallops weren't too fishy. I only wish there were crab. PLEASE BRING BACK CRAB! Our waitress was Erykah, just amazing, amazing food, amazing staff, amazing experience.
Dinner out with hubby. Made reservations for 7: 00pm waited for 10 more minutes. Not sure why. Steaks are always on point. Scallops and bacon.good appetizer for one. Service was a little off when we visited usually lots of checking on how we are doing. Not a fan of the cooked beets for vegetable.
Went to this keg yesterday, ordered the steak and lobster, steak was very chewy, but in all fairness I’ve never ate a sirloin steak, maybe that’s the way they are, but I told the waitress, the manager came over and took my meal off the bill, another time a lot of family went there, probably 20 of us, me and my brother in law order the 2 lobster dinner, when dinner was ready to be brought out, they forgot to put the lobsters on, so they said if we don’t mind getting ours a bit later we’d get ours for free, darn a apology would of been enough, I don’t have to get my meal at the same time, this keg REALLY CARES ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS, customers come first, not very common nowadays. Can’t say the same for the Marlboro keg, so thank you McLeod keg for the great service and food, again.
Not sure why the hostess chose to seat us, dinner for two, one foot away right next to a party of 6 - in a restaurant that was virtually empty. The food of course was perfectly prepared but the mainstream rap/pop music blaring overhead didn't seem conducive to filet mignon and wine.
I called ahead as I have a number of food allergies. I spoke to Juan who assured me that I would have an amazing dining experience - AND I DID! They put a couple of potatoes in to bake, without the canola oil, they took my margarine and sauteed my onions and I was able to have a full meal without feeling like I was missing out! Thank you - Juan - you made me feel special and "normal" and I will ALWAYS recommend the KEG on MacLeod trail. You know how to take care of your customers! Our server - Steph - was also amazing and took great care of us!
The steak here was better than a Vintage Chophouse downtown Calgary. The service was great. All our meals were great. I have been here before I know and it is consistently good. The only downside is the music is too loud and it is a bit noisy with people talking.
Went a few weeks ago, steak came out overcooked. Had it sent back & a fresh one came out cooked nicely & the manager came over to talk to us & made sure we were happy. Everything else was lovely! Very nicely done and good work to all (except maybe the guy that cooked the first steak, you could do a lil better)
I requested a medium-well filet mignon (because I was pregnant) and it came out almost blue rare. The server used a fork to pick it up off my plate and took it back to the kitchen to have them cook it more. Not at all what I expected here.
Excellent Food and Service! A week before Christmas and the place was packed. They had lots of friendly staff on, and we had exceptional service by Camryn. A neighbor had taken us out and the food was amazing. Thank you. We will be back.
It was quite busy on Sunday when we were here for dinner but we had an amazing experience. The food was delicious as usual but the service is what surprised me the most. My 1 year-old daughter is allegic to peanut, we were gonna feed her some fries but weren't sure if there is any peanut in the food, so I asked the girl who served us. She weren't too sure about it, so she went to the kitchen to ask immediately, we got the answer in 1 minute. Then a couple minutes later, the cook came out, talked to us about the food, and explained there could be peanut in the fries. Well, it was suprised, we didn't expect the cook to come out when it was super busy. Overall, I would suggest this place for dinner.
The only thing I would comment on is sometimes the waiters keep asking if you are done with your plate while there is food you are eating on it. It’s awkward when you have a party with some people and the waiter keeps asking while others are eating.
Always had an enjoyable time at The Keg Macleod, yes it's a chain restaurant but it continually delivers great food and service so you can't go wrong. The staff is always accommodating with our 19 month in tow and go above and beyond to make it a great time.
Excellent food. It is a little on the expensive side but well worth it when you only go on special occasions. Definitely have the billy miner pie for dessert.
Steaks are very bland, quality is meh. Double baked potato is very nice although. Honestly go to superstore and buy a nice 19 dollar New York. Keg is so bad its not even funny.
The server gave me a rare steak when I ordered medium and they wouldn't replace it without a hassle. The head chef and server then talked bad about us pretending like we weren't right beside them. Will not be returning.
Though the Keg consistently has good food, I usually feel like we are being rushed to finish up and leave. Also, I find it to be quite loud in the restaurant.
I had the steak and shrimp. The steak was cooked exactly how I'd asked, and the shrimp were succulent. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient as well.
We came here for our 35th anniversary. Boy was the service amazing. My wife unfortunately got a lobster tail that was mushy.but this was quickly rectified. This was our first time at the Keg and will definitely come back. Ps the prime rib was spectacular
Exceptional experience at the Keg at this location. The staff were quick in greeting us. The manager also took the time to ensure food preferences and allergies. She was able to offer alternatives and a solution for ingredients that contained allergens.
The only thing is during Covid that other diners were seated very close to each other. Some of the booths were within 2m of each other.
I took my family for dinner here because my daughter has celiac disease and they take it quite seriously. The head chef came out to discuss how her food would be made, ensuring us that he would be absolutely sure it was made so she would be okay. Our food was delicious, her food had no problems, and my family left happy and well fed. I will definitely go there again.
The food was excellent. Jeremy and Shawn were fantastic and the manager was very courteous and professional. We all enjoyed our food and service immensely.
The food was FANTASTIC! Cooked perfectly. Joel, our server, was cool and knew what he was doing. Nicole, the customer relations manager was so sweet! She found out that it was our 1st anniversary, and made it extra special with some Prosecco and dessert on the house. ️
Tonight went to the Keg for my wife’s birthday. The steak wasn’t matching my wife’s expectations. The manager she came to solve it made my wife very happy! Excellent customer services! Well done! Will go again!
Everything was great, the staff, the food, but the prices were out of this world. Have gone up lots in the past 1.5 years. Covid shouldn't have effected the prices that much.
Had a great experience at the keg. Our waiter was the nicest guy ever, definitely Brightened all of our moods. The food was delicious, I got steak and it was perfectly how I wanted it and they definitely made sure of it.
My daughter and her boyfriend went here on Sunday night. They both had The Keg burger. My daughter's had raw bacon in and she became violently ill. When her boyfriend called and told them, they said they would launch an investigation, but were unwilling to do anything to make it right. Utter nonsense. These kids saved up for their night out, chose The Keg and The Keg doesn't seem to care.
Last time myself or anyone I know goes to this location. One which I have frequented.
They forgot our salads and tried to give us our main course. The manager suggested our tab would be reduced by the drinks and appetizers, it was not. Our salads were served and the main meals arrived before the salads were done. We were rushed through our salads. The main meals had clearly been "kept warm" rather than served fresh. Totally disappointing.
I understand that you pre bake ur baked potatoes but seriously when an order comes to you don't microwave it.calgarians can't differentiate microwaved n baked, but not one everyone coming through your doors is nieve.
It's the same issue with every keg place in Calgary
I went to dinner there last night with my husband. The service was great but I ended up getting food poisoning from the dishes that I had. It was either the prime rib or the garlic shrimp. We called to let the manager know. They did not seem to be concerned with it or try to rectify the situation. We can’t say we are impressed and will not be going back.
Hoowhee it was busy that night! We had the choice between a 2 hour wait for a table in the dining room or a booth in the bar. We took the booth. Food was great, waiter checked in but didn't hover. I had salmon. Cooked perfectly.
We had an amazing experience here tonight (Oct. 19th). I had never been to a Keg before and now I cannot wait to go back. The appetizers were AMAZING, and the main course was probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had, I had ribs and my boyfriend had the baseball sirloin which was equally as good. The service is what really put the whole experience over the top, our server was super friendly and after hearing it was my first visit to the Keg the manager gave us a complimentary dessert! It was really busy but the service was top notch. So glad we made the last minute decision to go here tonight, you will not be disappointed!
Normally I find the Keg amazing but the last two times coming here the meat has been a little too fatty. Normally you can eat the whole steak, last two times I left a fair wedge of fat.
