The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Lethbridge

We visited The Keg Steakhouse this evening for dinner. Ali was our server. Ali was very gracious and delivered excellent service.

The Top Sirloin was cooked perfectly and had an outstanding flavor. The Prime Rib was also just as excellent.

The garlic mashed potatoes were also great, and the twice-baked potato was very good. The bread was outstanding.

Ultimately, Ali really stood out for exceptional service, and then the food was outstanding, as well. I highly recommend The Keg.

What a wonderful night, came to celebrate our anniversary and our server was just amazing. Shout out to Justin for creating such a great atmosphere and a wonderful welcome! Such a great first time experience and we even got a bottle of their amazing steak sauce as a first time gift. Will definitely be back!

Very good restaurant in Lethbridge with courteous staff and exquisite range of menu to enjoy with friends and families.

Went there for my birthday dinner last night and almost everything was phenomenal. The tuna tartare, and the peppercorn strip were amazing, my rib steak left a lot to be desired. The server was lovely and brought me out a new one, however, it wasn’t seasoned, was under done (I ordered rare; this one was very very blue), and almost as tough as the first one. I didn’t feel comfortable with sending it back a second time. I realize now I should have just ordered a peppercorn instead; cutting the rib steak was reminiscent of cutting beef jerky with a plastic butter knife.

Everything was great, except the steak knives suck. Had to get 4 different ones before one would do the trick. Always good food and amazing service.

Went to The KEG last night for dinner with the boys and had a great time. The food was fantastic (Three pepper wings are my favourite). Our server was on her game, very attentive and exacting either our orders. Very happy customer

SUPER IMPRESSED. HAVENT BEEN THERE FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. WAS THERE ON SUNDAY, FOR GREAT FOOD, AND LIQUOR SUNDAY SPECIALS. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, SERVICE, SUPERB, DECK EXCELLENT. WE WILL BE BACK, ON A SUNDAY AGAIN.

I’m giving it 5 star cos of the host (D-Barrett)! D-Barrett went above and beyond to made sure we had a pleasant dinner. His calm demeanor, constant check up on us and professionalism was top notch and enviable.

The service and the atmosphere were excellent, but our meal was very disappointing for a "high-end"restaurant. I ordered the Blackened Chicken and I have never had a dish that was so salty! I don't know if this is the usual amount of salt or if the chef was daydreaming while dumping on the salt. I tried taking off the skin, and the meaty part of the breast was still too salty. (I am one who has a reputation for adding salt to almost any meal, so I can't imagine one person who would be ok with this level of added salt.)
We also had a mushroom, saucy appetizer thingy and it was served with, (I kid you not), a little bread loaf that tasted exactly like Pilsbury dough.
We won't be eating here any time soon.

I am not one to complain at a restaurant but to go to a reputable steakhouse steak and 3 of your table of 8 steaks cooked wrong and a film on the bearnaise sauce.
Appetizers were as great other then they took 45 mins to get to our table. 1.5 hrs to get our meals.
1. Med rare, came out med well.
2. Med rare, came out well.
3. Med rare prime rib, came out rare and grey on bottom from sitting on warming station.
The waiter was great in asking if we wanted new steaks but it took 1.5 hrs at this point so we were not willing to wait another 1/2 hr. The waiter relayed our concerns and was back at our table with a comp (3 appetizers and 4 desserts) within 20 mins. The manager finally made it to our table after an hour with an excuse of staff called in sick today and we are busy (it's cold and flue season, schedule accordingly). Sorry hunny but you should have showed up at our table with an apron on if you are understaffed! To pay $50 plate to have your steak over cooked because of staff shortage and be comped a couple applies and dessert. Own your mistakes and treat your customers with the respect you would like to receive, the meals that were wrong should have been comped. Oh and when a child orders vanilla ice cream don't show up with some sort of swift ice cream just tell them you don't have it! We never order dessert at a restaurant. You may as well told right then to never come back. Lethbridge Keg lost 3 families from returning.

Delicious food, fantastic service (Great job Ben) oh just FYI the horseradish is very harsh, don't try eating it raw

We were impressed with the front desk person asking, not just for proof of vaccination, but also confirming our identity, something lacking in ALL the restaurants we have visited since the policy came into effect. Our server, Jordan, made the meal. Her professional and outgoing demeanor started the meal off on the right track. The quality and quantity of the food did the rest. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. There was no pressure to rush through the meal. We had been on the road for the past week and this, being our final dinner of the trip, has left us with a very positive memory. Thank you Jordan!

First off, let me start by saying this is a one off, usually my experience here leaves 4-5 stars.
So tonight, had date night with the wife and order baseball top sirloin med rare. Got the meal and when cutting steak it didn't seem as tender as I remember. Flipping steak over and plate side was burnt. Steak was also medium. Usually I wouldn't care about the med rare/ medium difference but with the char burnt I felt was a little too much for price paying. So, sent it back. Server was fine and helpful.manager however was argumentative about the steak being in their range of "medium rare", ignoring the burnt aspect of the concern. (BTW wife is a chef so I deferred to her expertise on "doneness").
After manager offers to bring new steak closer to what we "think" is med rare, I get new steak less than 5 min from complaint to in front of me. Fast service would usually be commendable cept now this steak was blue rare. They literally seared the outer and the interior of the steak was cold. Joked with wife I needed to cut it to let the hot plate warm it up some.
Didn't complain about this steak after the first encounter with manager and this being a second time. Was worried what the next steak would be like.
Spent almost $200 for a stomach ache. However, the mushroom neptune, twice baked, and veggies were as delish as usual.so there's that. Now I need to find a new steakhouse for date night.

Dinner, as always, was excellent. Celebrated my 65th birthday at the Keg in Lethbridge, Alberta. However, my “free” dessert was only free if I ordered Billy Miner Pie. The Lemon Tart was full price. Come on Keg! Really? For what the difference between a slice of Billy Miner Pie and a Lemon Tart? Cheesy, cheap and low class. If you are going to advertise free dessert on a person’s birthday, don’t cheap out!

I believe our server was Ben, he was exceptional. Kitchen not so much but he made up for it.

After a few times coming to the keg I changed the review to a 4. Main reason the services has improved dramatically and while other restaurants try to match the price of the keg. The picture butte restaurant they don’t come close toFood or service of the keg. I highly recommend it for special occasion.

This Keg always seems to be at the top of there game! If you have a chance ask for Ben for a server. Never makes you feel rushed definitely one of there better servers

Visiting from Toronto, this was likely the finest experience I’ve had at any Keg property. Our server, Nicolette, was wonderful and the meals were all cooked exactly they way we requested. Excellent!

Delicious food and great service. I think our server was new and forgot to bring an element of our meal, but it was otherwise wonderful!

Took our mother out for Mothers Day dinner. We also mentioned that it was our parents anniversary and were told that there would be a free dessert.

The food was great but the service, subpar and not the best experience.

My mother and I both ordered the top sirloin and asked for no mushrooms, however once our plates arrived there were in fact mushrooms. Easy fix we did give them to my father but this was only the beginning.

Our server never once checked on us to see how everything was tasting, ensure the steaks were the proper temperature etc. (My fathers steak was over cooked by the way.)

Once we were finished and the plates cleared the server (Brianna) didn’t even mention the free dessert she had told us about earlier for their anniversary.

All in all, even though the food was good it was definitely not the Mothers Day experience we were looking for and are leaving feeling quite dissatisfied with our care this evening. If we were to return we would hope that the service would improve.

Food is great. But only go if you're looking for a fancy beef dish or one of their few fish dishes. But all of their food is good even if the selection isn't.

I’ve been to the Keg many times but tonight came with a group of 8 for my Moms birthday, the food and drinks were great as always but what made this time stand out was the phenomenal service we had from our waiter Ben. My Dad is hard to please and he was absolutely blown away. This 5 star review goes to Ben, hope to have you again next time!

I ordered take out and I was extremely impressed that they immediately apologized for not having the side I had ordered over the phone. They explained they replaced it with fries and threw in a complimentary cheesecake as a way of saying sorry. I have not had anyone go out of the way like this in any service establishment for a very long time. These small gestures go a very long way and I will recommend this place anytime as a great place to go with exceptional service. Great job guys

A great spot for steak & lobster (in season) or prime rib. Food is always well prepared. Prices are on the high side. The wine list could feature a better selection.

Horrible restaurant to reserve at. DO NOT RESERVE! You will reserve In the restaurant area, then when you get there if they are behind they will make you sit in the lounge. TERRIBLE HOSTESS. DO NOT MAKE ANY DINNER RESERVATIONS HERE.
I have never given a bad review, but this was a terrible experience.

Food was on point, over cooked the twice baked potato but the manager was really good about it and gave the people affected gift cards.

We had an excellent meal and the best service we've ever received at any restaurant from our server McKenzie! She was lovely, and the steaks were amazing, as usual.

My best friend and I had the best time last night! Whenever we go out we love to go to the keg, it’s been our favourite spot since we were 18! We were lucky enough to get Nicolette as our server! She gave us amazing service but not only that, she was fun, funny, personable and made our entire experience so much better! I haven’t had a server like that in a long time! We will definitely be going back and requesting Nicolette when we do!

Sorry, I just can leave 2 stars for the KEG in Lethbridge.
In my opinion.

Pro:
- Good Quality of steaks
- Nice modern ambience inside

Con:
- dirty back parking lot (gives me immediately the feeling that the management doesn't really care)
- the Peppercorn steak had way too much pepper on it, seriously too much.
- the service was terrible. A young guy. He dropped water cubes and didn't pick them up. He spilled red wine on the table and the best, he spilled beer over a guest at the table beside us. Unprofessional for a restaurant which wants to play champions league.

Overall, my personal feeling, it is not worth the value and the hype.

No complaints on either the food which was awesome or the service which was also great, however to see that there was no social distancing anywhere in the restaurant and no plexiglass or other protective measures in place was very disappointing to say the least. We were lucky enough to be at a table that was six feet away for most of the meal but I had to shovel down dessert like you’re in prison when another couple was seated no more than 2 feet away. With most seating in the open, very close together and no sign of 50% occupancy there would be no surprise that NYE at The Keg turns into a super spreader event! I’m hoping that nobody takes away covid from The Keg to kick off 2022 but with nobody seeming to action or enforce provincial health guidelines nothing would surprise me! It is this total disregard for health issues that leads to restaurants being closed down, and widespread lock downs, based on The Keg you only have yourselves to blame. Surely 50% occupancy safely is better than 0% when locked down again?

This is my first time eating here. I thought this meal comes with mushroom rice as what it said in the menu but I was asked what side would I want, I just said just make it fresh vegetables. Good thing, the blueberry lemonade drink made a justice with my meal. It would've been a perfect rating if my expectations were satisfied. Thumbs up to the server named Greg for keeping us feel welcomed and I must say he's very professional.

Smaller seating, no coat hooks, and still learning how to properly cook a steak. Service at the table was amazing, but the entry chick was vary unprofessional and rude.

Great place for a family dinner in Lethbridge (though, granted options are a little slim). A bit on the expensive side, but nice atmosphere and pleasant staff.

Always an enjoyable evening here. Good is decent - for a chain restaurant it is reasonable and decent quality. Don’t expect a fantastic steak house or higher end place. Just decent food with a nice atmosphere.

Amber is a wonderful server at this location. If she hasn't gotten a raise she sincerely needs it! She made our very special night even more special night with some personal comments and wonderful service. My new fiance and I will absolutely be going out of our way just to be served by her again since she made our night so special.

Ben was probably the best server we have experienced in Lethbridge to date. He made the whole experience feel like a very fine dining experience. He was patient and gave great advice for both food and drink and was very attentive even if he thought he could have been quicker. It was an incredibly enjoyable date night. Thanks Ben. You’re an asset to your team!

Fantastic service, great food. Since moving here, a lot of restaurants here are all appearance with horrible food and service (looking at you firestone), but these guys are top notch. I will be going there again soon.

Went in for lobster summer, sat down, 3 of us ordered whole Atlantic lobster off the first page feature menu, 5 min.later waiter came back and said they were out of lobster somehow at 6: 00 pm. Total management fail not having stock on something featured and not informing customers of that fact before you sit.

This is a huge shout out to our fabulous server Ben, who went above and beyond to give us exceptional service on our anniversary!
