Absolutely horrible experience, staff were unhelpful and completely uninterested in their jobs. There was almost no immersion in the room itself and the puzzles were more like a scavenger hunt than anything else.

Came here twice and was disappointed both times. Main thing is mechanical problems and the hits don't really follow a theme. When the employee is struggling to get it to work it says a lot.

A lot of other well maintained escape rooms to go to.

PS,

The other locked room locations are much better, this one just sucks

Speaking on behalf of myself and my friends, I have to express our collective disappointment and overall underwhelming experience during our recent visit to the Captivity escape room. Our anticipation for an intellectually challenging and thrilling adventure turned into a frustrating and anti-climactic ordeal.

The room we opted for was advertised as their most difficult, which naturally piqued our interest. We anticipated intricate puzzles and complex riddles that would truly put our problem-solving skills to the test. Regrettably, what we encountered was a far cry from what we had hoped for. Instead of engaging puzzles, we found ourselves engaged in what can only be described as a glorified scavenger hunt. Nearly 35 minutes of our time was spent fruitlessly scouring the room for hidden items tucked away in the most obscure places. These items provided no indication of their whereabouts, rendering this aspect of the experience more frustrating than challenging. Only approximately 5 minutes was actually spent on actual puzzle-solving and riddle-cracking.

The final room, which we had imagined to be the pinnacle of our challenge, was a letdown of epic proportions. The abrupt ending left us with an unsatisfactory "that was it? " sentiment, compounded by the lack of any clear indication that we had indeed completed the room. The escape room attendants nonchalantly acknowledged our accomplishment from across the hall with a curt, "You did it? Good job, " leaving us feeling disoriented and unfulfilled.

Adding to our disappointment was the complete lack of connection between the so-called "puzzles" and the overarching plot. The storyline, already tenuous at best, was further marred by the disjointed nature of the puzzles. It felt as though there was a considerable absence of thought and consideration in crafting a cohesive experience.

Unfortunately, our discontent didn't end with the room's design. The customer service we encountered was abysmal, with our escape room master exuding a palpable sense of dissatisfaction with their role. Their apparent indifference towards our experience communicated a clear disdain for their job and, by extension, for us as participants.

In the midst of this lackluster experience, there was a silver lining – it managed to unite our group in shared disappointment. Conversations about how much the entire escapade fell short became a bonding point for us. In that sense, the experience wasn't a total loss, so here's a 1* for that.

While scavenger hunt-based escape rooms can certainly offer an enjoyable and unique experience, our recent encounter with the "Captivity" room highlighted the critical importance of clear communication and professional customer service.

It's worth noting that the concept of a scavenger hunt within an escape room setting is not inherently flawed. In fact, it can provide a refreshing change of pace and an opportunity for participants to work collaboratively to uncover hidden clues and objects. However, the disappointment we faced stemmed from the lack of forewarning about the nature of the challenge. Prior to booking, participants should be adequately informed if an escape room leans heavily on a scavenger hunt approach, allowing them to make an informed decision and adjust their expectations accordingly. Transparency in this regard is crucial to ensuring a positive experience for all involved.

Equally significant is the role of escape room attendants. While challenges and puzzles form the core of the experience, the professionalism and demeanor of the staff can greatly influence the overall enjoyment. Attendants should not only be well-versed in their roles but also adept at creating an immersive and engaging atmosphere. Providing attentive and courteous customer service enhances the overall escapade and contributes to a more memorable encounter.

We had so much fun figuring out captivity. It was our first escape room for 3/4 of the players and it was hard but once we got in the groove it was so fun!

This one was really disappointing. Our group went to an Exit escape room earlier and the difference was night and day. We didn't get any briefing about the situation of the room and the clues didn't really match the theme or make sense. We needed quite a few hints but even escaping with the hints it only took us about half an hour total.

For the price point I'd recommend a different escape room in the city.

First time experience here. Went 2 person in Temple escape (website recommend 4). Had a lot of fun, the puzzles were challenging, some we needed hints. A few mechanics (sensors) were buggy/finicky but overall great experience. Staff was great! Has locker to keep your items in.

I took some visitors here today and we had a great time. Taryn was a fantastic host.
I will definitely be going back.

Decent locked room, we did the forbidden temple room here, which was the easiest one for my parents sake haha. The rest of our group have done tons of locked rooms and we went through it in nearly half the allotted time. I would call the room quality mid grade as far as quality goes. All the systems worked, with some nuances, I feel like one of the elements needed to be better sign posted but we still figured it all out.

Great place to have fun with colleagues, friends, and family. Had a wonderful experience with my colleagues during our team night.

The Locked Room was a thrilling and challenging escape room experience for our group of seven. From the moment we were locked into the prison, we knew we were in for a tough but exciting challenge. The puzzles and clues were well thought out and kept us on our toes, but the real test was getting out of the room. The difficulty level was just right, making us work as a team and use all of our problem-solving skills.

As we progressed through the other rooms, the difficulty level increased, but so did the fun. The rooms were well-designed, with intricate puzzles and clues that kept us guessing until the very end. The sense of teamwork and camaraderie was undeniable. We had a great time and will definitely be back for more!

Guys, this is by far the best place to go with friends when you want a fun activity that builds rapport and is engaging every second. My friends and I did Captivity. Wow. Amazing feel for the room, clues are subtle but do-able. Everyone was in on the action and I know not one of us felt left out. The place is clean, staff are just amazing and prices are great. Give Milan my thanks x1000. You guys rock! Will be back many times

I believe it was 2 years ago, my family and I did The Christmas Caper, this was a special edition where an actor was present while we were solving the mystery. I believe she was the bartender and oh man, my family still talks about it to this day. It was SO FUN having a “host” in the room with you, giving clues and the occasional sass as you tried to solve the puzzles. I’ve looked to see if there’s any other ones with an actor who’s in the room with you, I haven’t seen any but I highly recommend!

Not bad rooms, but if if you've done alot of escape rooms then you would see the level of service is not quite the same.
No one to congratulate you when getting out, and no offer to take a photo of your group after you've successfully escaped.
